InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Something Has To Be Done ❯ Revelations ( Chapter 5 )

AN: Hey everybody! Me again! And I guess people don't hate Avril's songs as much as I thought.... (though ppl at my school do... sept me but oh well) Anyway glad to have so much support! And in this chapter I plan on confusling (confusing) poor little defenseless Inuyasha some more and maybe some Inu/Kag fluff... plus Kikyo bashing of course! (now if only we could bash her stupid clay pot head in...then we'd all be happy! {but dont worry she WILL die in this fic ^grins evilly^})

Me: Where's dog-boy? He's usually here insulting me by now..... <.< >.> I don't like the sound of this.......

((growling is heard))

Me: ^gulp^ uh oh.... that doesn't sound good........

Kag: ^runs in^ WERE DEAD, WERE DEAD, WERE DEAD!!!!

Me: Why what happened?

Kag: INU'S GONE FULL DEMON!

Me: SHIT!!!!!

Inu: ^crashes through the wall^

Me: HEY!!!! YOU'RE PAYING FOR THAT!!!!!

Inu: ^red eyes glare at me^

Me: EEP! ^hides behind kag^

Kag: Hey!

Me: Sorry but you have a better chance against him then I do!!!!

Kag: Point taken.

Me: Try sitting him!

Kag: I would but if it doesn't work he's gonna be even more mad....

Me: Good point.... Wait! Idea! ^little light bulb comes on over her head^ Kag put these in your ears!! ^holds out a pair of super heavy duty ear plugs^

Kag: huh? Whatever. ^puts the ear plugs in and gives a thumbs up^

Me: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-!!!!!!!!!!!! ^screams super high pitch and super loud then suddenly goes into a pitch like that of a dog whistle only it's louder and higher and hurts even ears who dont have the ability to hear that pitch^

Inu: AHHHHHHHH!!!! *clutches his ears and rolls around and turns back to normal^

Me: ^stops screaming and lets Kag know she can take out the plugs^ There! ^^ Back to normal!

Inu: Argh... my head......

Kag: Wow.... how'd you do that?

Me: I was born with vocal cords that were above average and they let me scream like that.... infact I'd say that was about 25% of how loud and high I can scream. ^^

Inu and Kag: O.O

Me: And now that that's over and done with let's start the fic shall we?

Inu: Feh.

Chapter 5

Revelations

It had been a week since the visit from Sesshomaru and Inuyasha was STILL brooding. What Sesshomaru had said had really threw him off track. He couldn't help be get mad at the thought of anyone claiming Kagome as theirs but he didn't know why... and his demon and human side had given up on him it seemed...

But what really got him thinking was that now tons of demons would be coming at them. In the week they had been back already 3 demons (though easily defeated) had come.

"Inuyasha, we must talk." Kikyo said suddenly.

Inuyasha looked down from his tree to the dead priestess. He was having more and more trouble seeing her as the Kikyo he had known 53 years ago. Back then she had been more.... lively. No pun intended. But he had sworn to protect her... and he owed her.... or did he? Something that Kagome had said to Sango the other night rose from his memory.

[flashback]

"I really don't see why he feels so guilty Sango." Kagome said, folding her now dry clothes. The girls were out at the river doing the laundry and talking like always. Inuyasha hid in the water around the bend and well hidden from sight and scent. This conversation intrigued him. Sango and Kagome had been discussing Naraku and the conversation eventually turned to 53 years ago.

"Kagome.... Inuyasha thinks it's his fault Kikyo is dead because Naraku used his form to attack Kikyo, which caused her death. Sango said. She knew this would come up eventually.

" Yeah well Naraku used Kikyo's form on Inuyasha and attacked him which caused him, in the end, to be killed too but no one seems to see that do they?Not only that Inuyasha was the one who actually WAS killed by the one he loved so really if anyone should be looking for repayment it's Inuyasha." That shocked him. He had been so caught up in the fact Kikyo died that he'd never even realised that he had gone through the same thing.... But Kagome still wasn't done. "AND really he was the one who got jipped cause really he wasn't needed for it at all."

"What do you mean?" Sango asked a bit shocked. Kagome had made some excellent points. None of the group had ever come close to that. Ever loop hole they found was horrible but here she had proved that there was no need of a loop hole.

"Well, Naraku could have used many people for this. His goal was to cause Kikyo's heart to beome filled with hate. He could have used Kaede for example. Her own sister. It would have had not only the same result but it would leave the village without protection and the jewel would have been easy to take." Standing, Kagome gathered her clothes. "Anyway are you almost done? I want to head back."

"Sure lets go." Sango said, getting up as well. She would definitely have to tell all this to Miroku.

[End of flashback]

That had truly got him thinking. And now his thoughts were a jumbled up mess.

"Inuyasha. Will you come down here please?" Kikyo called... well... said to the trunk of the tree not even looking up.

With a sigh, not looking forward to the conversation, he jumped down and leaned against the tree."Yeah what is it?"

"I think we should be rid of Kagome."

"WHAT?!?!" Inuyasha yelled, jaw dropping open and eyes popping out.

Kikyo continued as if she hadn't heard him. "She's becoming a nuisance. Not only that but demons are flocking after her. It would be safer if she weren't here." She stressed safer to remind him of his promise to protect her at all costs. 'Bye bye Kagome.' She thought to herself with a mental laugh.

"No."

Eyes wide she looked up at Inuyasha. Had he just refused? No, he couldn't have."I must have heard you wrong. What?"She said though she was a bit worried.

"I said no. She's not going anywhere. In case you'd forgotten Kikyo I promised I'd protect HER as well, so go try to manipulate someone else." That said he turned and jumped into the foliage leaving a shocked Kikyo in his wake.

Long after Kikyo had left the clearing in a huff, a lone figure sat shocked in the bushes.

"Die vile scum!!!!" Kikyo yelled shooting an arrow straight at Kagome.

Dodging it effortlessly, Kagome called back, "Make me Pot head! (Thx for that one Taylor!)I'll die when I'm good and ready and not a minute sooner!" Apparently after her 'discussion' with Inuyasha she had decided to get rid of Kagome herself.

Said hanyou was racing their way that very minute having heard the yells from the village. Suddenly a yell broke through the partial silence. Shit. It was Kagome.

((You know I was tempted to leave it there.... but I'm not that cruel!))

Everything had been going normally with the fight until, suddenly, an attack came at Kagome from behind and she barely managed to move before it hit her left arm, making it temporarily useless. "What the fuck did you do Kikyo?!?!" She shouted at the dead priestess.

"The woman did nothing." A deep voice brought Kagome spinning around to see a cat demon leering at her.

"Who are you?!" Kagome growled out, getting into a battle stance.

"Perfect." Kikyo thought. "He'll kill her for me!" Boy, was she wrong....

The demon laughed and replied, "Who I am doesn't matter, Beatuiful.All you need to know is that your going to be mine!" With that he lunged at her.

Dodging, Kagome yelled a quick, "Forget it!!!!" at the top of her lungs and did a round-house kick straight to his back sending him flying into a tree.

He quickly got up and smirked. "Feisty aren't you? Oh well all the BETTER!" Then, using some kind of magic, he sent a giant rope at her and even when she dodged, it followed her and eventually had her tied from head to toe.

"Damnit." Kagome muttered, trying, and failing, to free herself. "This is not good."

Suddenly, she felt two ars wrap around her waist. Looking down she recongnised them as the demon's. "Got you babe.....and now your mine!" Just as he was about to sink his fangs into the junction between her neck and shoulder, something barrled into him and knocked him off. Next thing Kagome knew, she was untied and tucked securely against the hard chest of Inuyasha.

"Great timing Dog-boy!" Kagome said, smiling up at him. "Glad to know you're still insanely jealous of any male that comes within three feet of me!"

Ignoring the comments on jealousy and the name, Inuyasha found himself glad to see her smile. She hadn't smiled NEAR him since she got back, let alone AT him. It made him feel....happy. Snapping himself out of his thoughts, he returned to the task at hand. Some bastard had just tried to mark HIS Kagome. Not noticing the slip-up, he deposited Kagome by a tree, after untying her, and unsheathed Tetsusaiga. This bastard was going down.

"Grrrrr. I always hated dogs....." The neko demon hissed out.

Dumbfounded, Kagome yelled over, "Hey dude! I'm a dog-hanyou too you know!!!!"

Blinking, the neko sniffed the air, and after a moment his eyes sprang open wide and his jaw dropped."Y-you m-mean I almost m-m-MARKED a dog?!?!?!?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CURSE YOU, FLYING TEAPOTS!!!" With that, he turned around and ran straight into the forest.

Blinking Inuyasha said, "Well....that was random." To which Kagome nodded her head. (( AN: SORRY! I couldn't resist!^^) Unnoticed to all, Kikyo had slipped away when Inuyasha came. She didn't want him finding out she had attacked Kagome after all.

"Thanks a lot Inuyasha. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't showed up......I owe you one." Kagome said, smiling at him again before running over and wrapping her arms around him. In shock, he out his own around her waist when suddenly the scent of salt came to his nose.

'She's crying....' He thought, tightening his hold slightly.

"I was scared.... I still am....I don't want to be marked.... w-what if a demon manages to do it?I-I don't think I could handle it...." Kagome sobbed clutching the front of his robes.

After everything she'd gone through, the tears she had held back with all her might came tumbling out. Her tears were slowly soaking Inuyasha's haori but he didn't care. Somehow....this was his fault.. he just knew it. "It's alright. I promise I'll protect you from them no matter what Kagome. No body's going to do anything you don't want. I'll make sure of it." 'I'm not sure how.... but even with all these changes... under it all she's still the innocent girl who fell into the past.... and somehow... she's managed to weasel her way even further into my life... and my heart.'

Slowly Kagome stopped crying and just rested her head on Inuyasha's shoulder, enjoying the confort he offered.

AN: AWWWWWWW!!!! Come on everybody say awwwwww!!!!

Inu: anybody who says it dies. ^growls^

Kag: awwwwwww!!!!!! ^smirk^

Inu: Feh.

Me: Hey Inu! Kag! Let's go get some ice cream!

Kag: Sure!

Inu: Whatever.

Us: ^walk off into the sunset peacefully.... until a loud SIT!! is heard and a giant BANG follows that and a string of curses directed at Kagome follows THAT^
