AN: Hi people! Okay, how's everybody doing?oh and for the record... this is basically how i talk on MSN so please dun judge my grammar on these ANs okay? Or my spelling for that matter.... anyway inus mad at me... again.... dunno y..... he just seems pissed off bout somethin..... uh oh.... {ducks as a potted plant wizzes over her head and smashes against a wall} INU!!! Me: {eyetwitch} your treading on thin ice dog boy......

Inu: whatever

Me: THATS IT! ONE MORE WORD AND ILL CASTRATE YOU THEN SHOVE 'LITTLE INU' ((the term 'little' coming from the fact that its the only thing on the planet smaller then his brain)DOWN YOUR THOAT!!!!

Inu: O.O {inches away}

Me: {SUPER SUPER scary glare}

Chapter 6

Encounters With Old Friends

"Where do babies come from?"

"......." The question had shocked all members of the group of shard hunters. Shippo had suddenly just stood up and asked. The day had been a normal one and peaceful... and now it looked like it was turning into a catastrophe.

"Why Shippo it's so nice to know that you've finally decided to take after your uncle Miroku! The monk said smiling with that perverted gleam in his eye we all know to well.... Let's go discuss this highly fascinating ma-ACK!!! NO SANGO!! PUT HIRAIKOTSU DOWN!!! AHHHHHH!!!!" he screamed running from the enraged Sango.

"Get back here you pervert!!! I'm gonna kill you Houshi!!!!"

"Well is anybody gonna answer me?" Shippo asked innocently. Really he knew exactly what he was doing but he liked to make the adults squirm.

Inuyasha and Kagome merely looked at each other, blushed, turned away and simultaneously stated. "We'll tell you when you're older." The preceded to blush even more and both made some excuse and walked off clearly wanting to calm the heat in their cheeks.

Snickering, Shippo said a quick "Works every time...." and curled up with a chuckling Kirara for a nice nap.

Silence reigned in the small camp site as the weary travelers ate their supper. No one dared say anything, Miroku because he didn't want Sango to end up pulverizing him again, Kagome because she and Inuyasha had had a fight again and she was silently fuming, Inuyasha for the same reason, Sango because she was putting all her concentration into petting Kirara, Shippo because he had finished already and was sleeping, Kirara...well because she can't talk in the first place, and Kikyo wasn't even there to begin with so basically everyone had their reasons.

'DUMBASS DUMBASS DUMBASS!!!!' Both his human and demon sides yelled. Yes, they spoke to him.... and it was getting on his nerves more and more. Ever since the fight between himself and Kagome his two sides had been screaming at him. And quite frankly he could take no more. "WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!" he yelled, not realising he'd said it out loud. Freezing at the silence around him, Inuyasha looked down from his perch, past where he had thrown his now empty bowl when he'd yelled and to the faces, and raised eyebrows, of his traveling companions.

"We didn't say anything, Inuyasha...." Sango said, looking about ready to get her Hiraikotsu incase he was going insane and was going to attack them.

"Uhhhh never mind then..." He said turning his head to hide his embarrassment.

Hearing Kagome's snickering his anger immediately returned to him. "It ain't funny, Bitch!!"He growled out.

"I beg to differ Dog-Boy!!!" She retorted, eyes alight with annoyance and slight amusement. "I find it quite funny that you seem to enjoy yelling at your little imaginary friends. So what are their names? Bob and Bill? Harris and Humphrey? TJ and TK? Well? What are their names?"

Stunned and still slightly peeved Inuyasha humphed and turned to face the forest as his 'friends' roared with laughter.

After snickering for a moment or two, Kagome suddenly dawned a sullen and somber look. "I'm gonna go for a walk you guys... I need to clear my head." Then, without a word, she picked up her bag and walked into the thick foliage.

"You should go after her." Inuyasha wasn't sure who had said it but it was all the encouragement he needed. Before any of them could blink he had jumped into the forest sniffing out Kagome's location.

It didn't take long to find the Miko-turned-Hanyou, all he had to do was follow the tears.... He reached the base of a tall tree and looked up. There she was sitting up on one of the lower branches, guitar on her lap, bag hanging from her foot and a slow stream of tears sliding down her face, and looking up at the starlit sky. Noticing she seemed to be talking he hid in the bushes hoping to go unnoticed.

"I wish Inuyasha would stop being such an asshole.... He's pretty much the only person I can relate to now....{sigh} I wish none of this had ever happened...... Why couldn't things just be back the way they were? I'd search for the jewel shards, help beat Naraku, purify the jewel, give it to Inuyasha and say there do whatever and take my human ass back to the future and go back to a normal life.... Now I'm stuck here 'cause I've been turned into a hanyou... I mean sure there are concealing spells but there'd always be the chance that someone would piss me off and I'd go back to hanyou form.... Not to mention that that place reminds me of what happened...." She sighed and leaned back a bit more seeming to concentrate on one particular star. "And I swear that if I find out who started that fire I'll kill them..."

Suddenly all theories flew out of Inuyasha's mind. 'That's what happened... why her family isn't an issue.... they're.... dead.' His attention was brought back to the girl above suddenly as she began strumming her guitar.

" I guess this one goes with Inuyasha more then me....{shrug} Ah well...not like he can write a song so it's mine.... Not that that's a good thing...Oh well..." Sitting up a bit straighter Kagome checked that the guitar was properly tuned and began her song.

'I wonder why she thinks it suits me better...' Was Inuyasha's thought just before she started.

That had struck a cord. 'Heh... Guess it does suit me. She knows me better then I though-Hey! She isn't...cryingis she?' and indeed she was.... again. She'd been crying more often now ever since the cat... incident... Inuyasha figured it was because her feelings were coming out more. In any case he hated it when she cried and he was gonna stop it this time damn it! Silently, he crept out and swiftly jumped up without rustling any leaves or branches.

Next thing Kagome knew there was someone behind her with their arms around her. Inuyasha's scent came to her, and before she could stop herself she had turned around and was crying silently on his shoulder.

Gently Inuyasha stroked her hair in what he hoped was a calming gesture and whispered soft words his mother would say to him when he was a child. They had always soothed him and he hoped they would do the same for her.

"Great, now I owe Sango 5$...." The muttered comment came to his ears and his eye slowly began twitching. After a moment he decided to let it slide considering he didn't know the whole story so he would just ignore it and do that smart thing.... for once. "But clay pot owes me 50!Booyah!" And the twitching started again. Though his demon and humans sides said that if he did anything they'd take over and make his life miserable, so he kept his emotions in check.... once again for once.

"Do I want to know why they owe you money?" He asked.

"Well, Sango bet that you'd follow me next time I went off and Kikyo bet that if you did it would be to make sure I didn't come back.."

"Wait... if you owe Sango that means you bet I WOULDN'T come... but then why would you have made the bet with Kikyo if according to you... the situation mentioned would never happen?" He really didn't know where that came from... but after he'd said it it made sense...

"ARGH!!! NOW I REALLY DO OWE SANGO 5$!!!!!" She yelled, exasperated. "You always pick the WORST times to think of something smart don't you?"

"Umm... Now I'm just confused...." And he looked it too... Head tilted ever so slightly and ears twitching in curiosity.

She should have stopped herself... but those ears... what girl could resist?

"Uhhh what are you doing- {puuuuuuuuuuuuur}" Well that shocked Kagome so much she stopped petting his ears. "Awww why'd you stop?"

Wide eyed, she replied, "You were purring!!!"

"I was not!"

"Then what do you call this?!?!" With that she reached up and started the rubbing again.

"{PUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRR}"

"Hah! Told you you were purring!" She smirked.

"I was not purring!"

"Then what do you call it?!?!"

"It's a contented growl!!!!!!!!" He said, not really thinking.

"Oh, so you LIKE it when I rub your ears?" She asked innocently, hey eyes shining with mischief.

"Well, yeah...." He said slowly, not liking where this was going... but was he in for a surprise.

"HAH! SANGO OWES ME 20$!!!!! WOOHOO!!!"

With that Inuyasha promptly... fell out of the tree.

"What is it with you and Sango betting on me?!?!" He demanded, jumping back up and sitting in front of her with a huff and a glare.

"Well your unpredictable in your attitude and actions outside fighting so really if we want unbiased and decent betting your pretty much the only possible person for the job."

He couldn't believe it. She was betting on hi- hey wait a minute! "What do you mean 'outside fighting'?!" He asked, suspicion shining in his eyes.

"Uhh... No comment!" Then, she leaped off the branch and bound into the woods.

"Oh no you don't!" He growled, leaping after her. T

The hunt was on.

AN: Okay that's all for this time! Hope that was okay.... and that song she sang is gonna have an important role in this fic later on! {rubs hands together and chuckles evilly}

Okay now I really didn't wanna do this.... but.... well can't help it! Here's the deal people! 5 reviews before I START the next chapter! {collected groans from readers} Now come on! I looked and over 500 people have read this on Mediaminer and I have like 8 reviews!! And even then some of them are even from the same person for crying out loud! {sigh} sorry bout this.... but I NEED reviews to know if I'm writing this fic right so without feedback how am I supposed to know what's going on? Anyway I only want 5 okay? That's it! The summary got like 20 so this shouldn't be too hard! Okay people gotta go! Bye!
