Chapter2
Plead in the dark

It's been a few weeks since I ran into Inuyasha and the humans that accompany him. I've grown accustom to their antics, Shipou's curious and playful demeanor, the strange relationship between Inuyasha and Kagome, Miroku and Sango are nothing more then amusing, especially Miroku.

I've helped my new companions in their search for the scattered shards of the Shikon no tama. So far, since I've joined them, I've helped recover three shards from a petty Gesshirui Youkai. It boggled every one that I didn't try to take the jewel for my self, fact is I don't need it. For a Hanyou I'm pretty damn powerful.

“Feh!” Inuyasha scoffed when I told him this. “When I find the whole thing, I'm gonna become a full-fledged demon.”

“I just don't think I need it.” I continued

“It's nice to find a Youkai who doesn't covet the shards.” Kagome sighed. Sango nodded her agreement.

“Feh.” Inuyasha mumbled, leaning back against a tree.

Right then though something caught his attention. Inuyasha sniffed the air and growled irritably. He stood up grabbing his Tetseiga.

“You'd better follow me pup.” Inuyasha said before he ran off suddenly. It took a second before his command set in, but when it did I raced after him, the humans and Kitsun tailing me.

Inuyasha had begun to fight someone when I reached him. I don't think the Inu-youkai realized we were there because he continued to taunt Inuyasha. I stayed back.

“This time I will succeed.” said the white dog “in killing you.”

“Keh! Come and try baka!” Inuyasha mocked as he raised his grown sword above his head. Inuyashas enemy was another Inu-youkai; his long silver hair reminded me of mothers greatly. He had a cold, emotionless look about his golden eyes, as if nothing showed outside them. He even had a long mokomoko carried over his shoulders, mothers was fluffier. The markings on his face were much like mine, but his colors where switched from what mine were, a blue moon with red strips.

This other dog flashed his claws and a green energy whip flowed from his fingers. Inuyasha dodge the green light barely but it knocked his sword from his hands as it came back around.

“Damnit!” Inuyasha cursed. “Sesshoumaru you basterd!”

His enemy drew one of his two swords, leaping into the air to bring it down on Inuyasha. The name registered in my head. I planned to stop him from killing my new found friend. Running out into the open I succeeded… though not how I planned.

Sesshoumaru stopped suddenly, landing feet from Inuyasha, who was ready to move away. Sesshoumarus eyes were directly on me with a look of disbelief, shock, and even fear… something told me that that was an emotion that he never wore.

His sword dropped with a dull thud on the grassy ground; still his piercing gold eyes did not leave mine.

“What are you doing here?” he asked quickly, icily. Inuyasha, looking befuddled stepped back behind me, him and the others watching me and Sesshoumaru.

“I-I was sent here to find you.” I said confused, his eyes narrowed as if he didn't believe me “by An'ya.”

At mother's name, his thoughts seemed to confuse him, looking at me then at no one, considering something within his mind. With a growl he picked up his fallen sword and left hastily.

“What was that?” Inuyasha said perplexed. It seemed that this kind of reaction from Sesshoumaru wasn't common. With out a word I left to fallow the dog lord.

~

“Wait!” I yelled when I finally caught up with him. He stopped and turned to face me.

“Don't follow me.” he said warningly.

“I was sent to find you for a reason. I think you might want to know…”

“I don't care, An'ya should have never told you to come.” Sesshoumaru said angrily. So that proves he knew mother… he turned to continue his leave.

“An'ya's dead…Sesshoumaru.”

He stopped again, turning to me with unreadable eyes, glaring at me.

“I don't believe you.” He said slowly, his golden eyes bearing down on me daring me to say otherwise.

“Tora Youkai attacked our home.” I said slowly. “An'ya's last words were to find you.”

Sesshoumaru looked deep in thought before he spoke again, a grim tone rung throughout his voice.

“So, now you've told me. Your mother would have wanted you to go home now.” He said. I looked at him questionably.

“So you did know my mother personally?” I asked eyeing him suspiciously.

“Of coarse I did! She was…” he stopped shortly, looking away from me.

“She was what?” I asked carefully, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Nothing. Go home Inukuro.” He responded finally.

He turned away and left through the trees. I decided not to follow him this time, even though my curiosity reached an all-time high.

I returned shortly after to my highly confused friends.

“What happened?” was the first question from them in unison.

“I'm not quite sure exactly…” I began. I finally released my story to them, both what happened in the trees, and at my home.

“Your mother told you to find him?” Inuyasha asked, brow arched in disgust, he must really hate Sesshoumaru…

“Yeah”

“Why?” he asked stubbornly.

“Well Inu-youkai are few now. Perhaps Sesshoumaru was the closest dog, and figured he should know so others could be informed that another one of their kin has been lost.” Miroku suggested.

“Yes, and if I'm correct, Inu-youkai and Tora-Youkai are terrible enemies, any dog would want to know if one of their kind had been slain by their rivals.” Sango put in.

“Yeah, but the only girl I know, that Sesshoumaru knows, is Rin” Inuyasha mumbled.

“Rin?” I asked

“Rin is a little human girl that he saved. She tags around with him usually.” Kagome informed. That confused me.

“Something tells me that aint like him.” I said. Every one shook their heads confirming my suspicions.

~

Our conversation slowly left Sesshoumaru till night fell and sleep claimed all but me. My thoughts remained with him, perhaps he only knew An'ya because she was an Inu-youkai. But something didn't fit.

`She was'

She was what? He new her more deeply then recognition, I'm just not sure how. Then there was something familiar about him… an early memory I think… but he was smiling back then, he certainly wasn't now. It confused me.

I tried to will myself to fall into dream, but the sound of someone stirring caught me ears. Inuyasha was sniffing the air, then growled irritably, but low so the others would not wake.

“I need to speak with you.” Came an emotionless voice.

“Why?” Inuyasha snapped.

“It concerns him.” the voice said. I knew that voice.

“Inukuro?”

Pretending to roll over in my sleep, I opened one eye just enough to see Sesshoumaru nodding at Inuyasha. But Inuyasha didn't rise at his bothers request.

“Inuyasha…” Sesshoumaru asked again. He looked at me once more; he didn't notice that I was awake though. Inuyasha looked at him then me then at Sesshoumaru again, nodded, and stood up finally.

Sesshoumaru nodded his thanks as the two bothers left towards the darkness of the trees to speak out of earshot of all the others.

I contemplated whether I should follow them or not for several minutes, mother always said it was rude to eavesdrop. But curiosity rising again, I finally stood up to find them.

When I found them I hid behind a dark bush that was close enough to them for me to hear them, and was up wind so they would have a harder time smelling me out.

Inuyasha was looking at Sesshoumaru with pure disbelief.

“This explains a few things, but I don't believe it.” Inuyasha said slowly, eyeing his bother.

“It's true. Do you promise?” Sesshoumaru asked. Inuyasha looked at him oddly, unsure of his answer. “He can't know.”

Know what? What was he talking about?

“Why should I? All you've ever done for me is try to kill me and take my Tetseiga.” Inuyasha growled. Sesshoumaru looked like he took that like a slap on the face.

“…Inuyasha, I beg of you.” He pleaded. “Please”

“I've never heard you beg before.” Inuyasha said. It seemed like he wanted that to come out as a taunt but it didn't. “Ok, fine. But I'm not doing it for you; I'm doing it for him.”

“Arigato” Sesshoumaru sighed.

Their conversation was over, which meant that I should return before Inuyasha did. Silently I slipped through the darkness, thanking the gods for my black mokomoko, darkness covered me. When Inuyasha returned, I was already feigning sleep; soon though the real thing consumed me, finally.

*that's the second chapter, sorry if Sesshoumaru seems a little out of character, but remember this was a dream that I had, and I'm following it as best I can. But trust me, you wont be disappointed ^_~*
