She heard a knock on the door. Kyoko jumped slightly off her bed. It was her brother, Jiro, when he poked his head into her room and he grinned. She smiled. She hasn't seen him in a long time. Twelve years in the future, in her time, he moved to the Americas to have a better living, in his words.

“Mornin' Kyoko. Dad wants to bring us to a restaurant for breakfast, so you better hurry and get dressed,” he said and closed the door.

Kyoko looked down. Sure enough, she was wearing a bra and boxer shorts…she was wearing underwear and her brother saw her! She blushed a crimson red. She sunk deep under her blankets and shook her head to get rid of what she realized. Well, he is her brother; she thought she could get over it.

She jumped off her bed and went to her closet. She observed it. Twelve years in the future, these damn clothes wouldn't fit and wouldn't suit her. At least she was getting a second chance at wearing them.

Kyoko observed the clothes. She saw a white tank top with a yellow sun that was on the back. The she took out low-rise jeans. To wear on her feet, she wore white flip-flops. She went to the bathroom. She smiled even bigger. No wrinkles! She put up her hair and brushed her teeth and washed her face. She applied on shimmering lip-gloss.

The eighteen year old bounded down the stairs. She saw her brother and father waiting for her by the door. They were looking at her.

“Come on Sis, before we both turn gray,” Jiro, teased.

Kyoko rolled her eyes. Jiro's lame jokes, she never was tired of them. Actually, she missed them a little bit, to tell the truth.

“All right, let's go then. I don't want to take care of two crabby old men,” Kyoko teased back. Their father laughed.

They went to the car and Kin sat in the driver's side, Jiro sat at the passenger side, and Kyoko sat in the backseat. She remembered these times. She missed them.

The family arrived at the coffee shop. She remembered that InuYasha and everyone else use to come here and chat. She knew that cause she could sense their faint aura that still lingers there. Kyoko could tell that the significant day wasn't that long ago.

Kyoko and her family sat by a window. A waitress came by and gave them the menus and asked if they wanted anything to drink. Kyoko asked for milk, Jiro orange juice, and Kin asked for black coffee.

Kin looked at his daughter. “Kyoko, what happened to your friends, the ones that came on your birthday; the one with red hair, the female with the hair pulled back, and the male too? I haven't seen them for awhile.”
Kyoko's heart stopped a beat. What lame excuse can she give her father so he can believe her?

`Think, think Kyoko,' she thought. Then an idea popped in her head. “Oh, those three? They moved away. Yeah, that was their last day. They moved very, very, very far away.”

Kin nodded his head and continued looking at his menu. His daughter made a low sigh so no one could hear her.

The waitress came back to take their order. Kyoko ordered French toast, Jiro ordered waffles, and Kin ordered two scrambled eggs with bacon and wheat toast.

The food came fifteen minutes later. They ate in silence. What should they talk about? Kyoko could talk about anything, such as what will happen to the future, but she can't. Because one, her dad and brother will think she is crazy and two, if they did believe her, the events could actually change.

`As I said before, time is friggen confusing,' she thought as she took another bite of her breakfast.

After they were done, Kin paid the bill and left to go inside their car. The ride home was also in silence.

They were passing the Higurashi Shrine when Kyoko suddenly shouted, “Stop! Dad, can you please drop me off here?”

“Sure honey,” her dad answered. He slowed down and stopped. Kyoko opened the door and shut it. She ran up the stairs. She wanted to tell the Higurashi's. She knew that she could trust them since they had to deal with magical stuff ever since Kagome went through the well.
