The restaurants were packed with couples as were the theatres. Women walked around with dozen of roses and teddy bears in their arms while the boyfriends held shopping bags from Victoria Secret, but they weren't complaining; the men had stupid grins on their faces.

One couple, a man and woman, walk hand and hand through a crowed mall on Valentine's Day.

The male has short black hair with purple eyes. His stance commanded respect as he walked with his girlfriend of three years. He wore dark blue jeans and the latest Sean John white and red collared shirt.

The female's blue eyes held happiness and content. Her pink and white Puma's complimented her pink collared shirt and blue jean mini skirt. While her boyfriend's eyes held serious, her eyes were playful and approachable. She is practically flying on air as she stares at the two carat diamond ring on her left hand.

“Oh, Sesshoumaru, I am so happy!” she turns to her fiancé with tear threatening to spill.

“Now Kagome, no more tears; you promised,” Sesshoumaru lightly pleads.

`Sesshoumaru and I will be married soon! It was so romantic for him to propose on Valentine's Day.

`Kagome, mia bellezza, you are best thing that has ever happened to me. Your smile melts away all my worries and your kisses melt away the world around me. I will always love, mai bella. Will you marry me?

`I can't believe that I was crying from the moment that he was on his knees. But it was romantic; I woke up and looked in the mirror. I grabbed my hairbrush and noticed the ring on my finger. I ran downstairs and jumped on Sesshoumaru's back. He wasn't shocked; I guess he guessed that I would do something like that. He then got down on his knees and proposed.

`It was perfect! Then we got dressed and came to the mall to shop for something sexy for tonight! Damn, I getting myself worked up!

`But who can't get aroused with that body; those muscles beg for attention and his skills—Oh my Kami, I can't walk the next day.'

“Bella, what are thinking of?” Sesshoumaru inquires.

“Your proposal and tonight,” Kagome's eyes sparkle mischievously.

Sesshoumaru stops in the middle of the mall and pulls Kagome into his arms. He is tall enough and Kagome is tiny enough so that Sesshoumaru can rest his chin on Kagome's head. The rest of the world passed them by as the couple remained frozen in time and unaware of anything else but each other. They fit perfectly; made for each other.

“We could forgo the shopping and held back to the apartment,” he whispers so that only she can hear.

Kagome tilts her head so that she can see him.

“Well----”

“AHHHHHHHHHH!”

A blood curling scream is heard through the mall then the chaos begins. On all four floors of the Tokyo mall are people running and searching for an exit. Kagome and Sesshoumaru are pushed and yanked by the crowds running in every direction possible.

Sesshoumaru regains his mind, grabs Kagome's hand, and pulls her to the hallway where the elevators are.

“Dinosaur!”

“Monster!”

“Beast!”

“Please don't eat me!”

[Screaming]

These are a few words that Kagome and Sesshoumaru can hear while away from the crowds. No one has even bothered to enter where the elevators are or even take them down to first floor where they are currently located.

They stand in front of an elevator where Kagome holds onto Sesshoumaru tightly; standing in the same position as they were earlier in the middle of mall before chaos happened.

Sesshoumaru felt slight comfort when the people were screaming but now there's silence.

“It's too quiet.”

“What do you mean, they could have left,” muffled Kagome.

“I preferred it when the people where screaming and not this silence. Push that elevator button.”

Kagome does as she told and looks up to see the see through elevator coming down from the top floor.

[Growling]

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

Sensing her question, “Don't ask, Kagome and don't move or talk.”

Sesshoumaru sees the figure blocking the light of the hallway and is instantly taken back. It was at least ten feet tall, two scrawny arms with sharp claws, and its feet had one long curling claw on each foot. The face had a long snout that was filled with teeth that could cut steel and two red eyes. The long tail that it had was swishing back and forth.

The monster itself isn't what scared Sesshoumaru; it was the smile on its face when it looked at Kagome. A knowing smile like he had found something that he lost.

[Ding]

The thing looked startled and Sesshoumaru wasted no time in pushing Kagome into the elevator. He went in with her pushed a floor and rapidly pushed the “close door” button. However the door seemed to take its time and the monster stood right of Sesshoumaru who was pressing Kagome against the glass. She couldn't see anything since her eyes were blocked by Sesshoumaru's tall form; he also prevented her from moving. He was acting so strange.

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

The doors closed around the creature but opened back up.

“Damn!” Sesshoumaru exclaimed.

Sesshoumaru weighed his options carefully,

`On one hand I have my death and Kagome's death. On another I have my death.'

“Kagome, reach into my left back pocket and take out the key.”

Kagome finds the key without it and opens her mouth,

“The room number is Suite 652 of mall on the top floor.”

“Why are you…”

Her questioned doesn't get finished when suddenly Sesshoumaru lunges at something. Kagome can finally see and she sees Sesshoumaru wrestling with something that has a long, skinny tail.

The thing tossed Sesshoumaru off of it and took a bite of his right arm. Blood was everywhere and the bone of Sesshoumaru's arm could be seen as it was suddenly ripped clean of and into the creature's mouth. Kagome could see not see all the creature only its head and Sesshoumaru's body.

“SESSHOUMARU!” she screamed while she watches him shaking in pain. She moves to pull him back into the elevator once the doors begin to close.

“NO!” he yells at her.

There Sesshoumaru lies on the cool, marble floor of mall without his right arm. His purple eyes remained on her as Kagome shrank back to glass windows of the elevator.

`I need to help him.'

`No!'

`Why?'

`What can you do against this creature? Nothing; Sesshoumaru wants to protect you; do not let his efforts go in vain because you want to be rash. Let him go with honor and knowing that you lived.'

The voice of reason leaves Kagome alone as the doors continue to close.

Then the creature steps over Sesshoumaru and peers through the doors but not close enough to stop the doors. Kagome's eyes remain on Sesshoumaru and his sea of red flooding around his frame. So much blood and it's all his.

Sesshoumaru mouth the words “I love you” before his eyes close as do the doors.

Tears fall freely down her face as the doors of the elevator close and she can no longer see her love.

“SESSHOUMARU!

The pain cries of a heart broken woman fills the elevator and seeps out through the elevator and into the mall. A heart wrenching sob is heard for every memory that she and Sesshoumaru shared. Kagome finally looks out the glass windows to see thousands of the creatures feasting on the flesh of countless humans. No one is moving. Kagome can see men, women, and children of all ages fall victim to the creatures without a conscience or a mind.

Kagome presses the “6” floor button and waits for the elevator to stop. Tokyo mall has it own hotel on top of the mall for a price. Although Sesshoumaru has never needed money, he is heir to Taisho Inc. Though that's why Sesshoumaru loved Kagome; she loved him for him and not his fortune.

The elevator doors open and Kagome walks to room 654 like a mechanical robot, leaking tears along the way. Her body acts without her mind working. Kagome mind was only on Sesshoumaru.

`Why did I stop myself? Sesshoumaru is gone and I did nothing but stare. Some fiancé I am.'

The door opens without problem and Kagome lies on the bed without taking in the room.

`What's the point? Sesshoumaru isn't here to enjoy it with me.'

Kagome falls asleep with her thoughts on her fiancé, who she believes is still alive, even though the creature that took his arm and there was no one to stop his bleeding.

However the creature was unbelievable itself in the event that they have been extinct for a million years. A monster that should not exist in this time but she saw it, with its red eyes and skinny long tail; a creature from before man walked the earth.

A velociraptor like from Jurassic Park.

So what do you think of my new story? I know, I know; I “killed” Sesshoumaru in the first chapter! What the hell am I thinking? I know what I am thinking and it will be brilliant in the later chapters. Reviews are welcome as well as constructive criticism.
