Chapter Nine
The young nurse crept softly into the dark room. The lone bed held a single figure. She was always fascinated with this person. This one figure. No one knew who he was, where he had come from, what his name was. No one knew anything about him. If it hadn't been for the woman that had found him he would probably be dead by now.
A woman had been walking along the beach when she noticed something silver looking in the sand. As she got closer she had seen the rest of the torn and battered body. After she had called her husband they had pulled the young man out of the water and called an ambulance. The poor guy had been in a coma ever since he was brought to the hospital. The couple had taken it upon themselves to pay for all of his care.
The nurse now stood beside his bed, looking down at his calm face. She knew his eyes were the most beautiful amber. His long silver hair pooled beside his head. Even after all the months he had been here his body was still amazingly strong.
The moonlight from the window gleemed down on his face. She watched in worry as his body relaxed. One of the many oddities of this man was that his body was tense until he felt the moonlight. Once darkness came he calmed and rested. Relaxing completely. He never shared the same characteristics of a normal coma patient. Many doctors had come and gone, none of them being able to explain it. So the couple had been content to pay for his care and come see him every week.
Realising how long she had been watching him the infatuated nurse turned to leave. She had more important things to do than gaze down at a comatose man. Halfway to the door she stopped as she heard a small noise and looked back. Her cries brought every nurse within hearing distance running.

"Sesshomaru! If you scare off another nurse I swear to kami I'll send you to the waiting room." The taiyoukai looked down at the frustrated miko. "I'm merely getting rid of the incompetents." He sat in a nearby chair as he waited for the next brave soul to enter the room. After sending three nurses running, screaming, and/or crying out of the room Kagome had had enough. She was NOT going to have this child with only a stoic brute in the room. She needed help and she needed it now. Not long after that thought her one help entered the room.
Dr.Aso sized up the situation rather quickly. The nurses were in a panic and no one wanted to enter this room. Sesshomaru was stubbornly keeping all other humans out. From what she could tell the ferocious man was very worried and wasn't saying so. He never acknowledged her presence but she knew he was listening as she spoke calmly to Kagome. "It's going to be awhile. So what I need you to do is to stay calm and quite. You should probably try to get some sleep while you can. Bringing babies, especially hanyou babies, into the world is a long hard process."
She smiled at Kagome then turned to Sesshomaru. She waited until she had eye contact before she crooked a finger at him. She knew she was baiting him with that move but it was the only thing she could think of to get him moving. His eyes narrowed at her, but he stood and followed her into the quiet hallway.
When she turned to face him he was still glaring at her. She expected him to start reprimanding her at any moment so she let her mind wander as she studied him. He was tall. Alot taller than she at least. Her head had to tilt back to look up at him. His skin and hair were pale. As if moonlight and water had mingled to create his exact coloring. His eyes were almost gold. Very cold at times. She had caught him though. Every now and then he would turn away from everyone, seemingly bored with the conversation. But not quickly enough to hide the emotional look behind eyes he couldn't disguise.
His markings were hidden against the unpracticed eye. If she hadn't been trained she never would have seen them. She doubted he even knew she could see them. She had been very suprised she could see them that first time she had entered the room. Although trained for it, she usually had to consentrate to see demon markings.
Pulling herself back out of her musings of his stripes, she looked up to his eyes only to find him watching her. Those usually mysterious amber eyes were confused as they looked into hers. She started to blush. She just knew he could see it and would turn cold again. So she did the only thing she could do. She blubbered.
"I'm sorry Sesshomaru-sama. I was just...um...s-studying your markings. I d-didn't realise that I w-was staring. I apo-" her mumbling was suddenly cut off as Sesshomaru did the unusual.
He smiled.

"Push Kagome! You have to push!" Yet another helpful soul decided to tell her that useless information right as the next contraction hit. What else am I going to do? Refuse to push? Kagome grit her teeth as she tried not to scream. Waiting until the pain eased, she turned and looked at Sesshomaru. Sprawled in a chair where he had been told to sit 'out of the way'. His expression was cold, eyes studying everything that went on around him. The only give away that he was nervious were the claws that had been imbedded into the arms of the seat since he witnessed her first contraction. She would have smiled at the picture he made if another contraction hadn't hit.
"Just a few more of these and you'll be holding your baby close, Kagome." Dr. Aso shot her an encouraging smile before she went back to work. Minutes later another 'helpful' nurse told her to push 'just one more time'. If I hear anyone say that again I will personally strangle them! Kagome growled deep in her throat as she did as she was told. She pushed. Hard.
Sesshomaru's eyes actually got big as he watched a nurse take his nephew and clean the tiny screaming body. Kagome smiled as she rested for a bit. After he was checked over thoroughly, Dr. Aso came over and handed the bundle to her. Tears slipped down her cheeks as she looked at the full head of silver hair. Tiny clawed hands clutched the white blanket as bright amber eyes studied her. Kagome sniffed the soft hair and sighed. The same amber eyes blinked at her before a tiny nose sniffed her right back.
Sesshomaru walked over to them and touched the black tip of one of the tiny ears. He looked directly into the golden eyes and sniffed the pup. Waiting a moment for the pup to do the same, Sesshomaru then growled low in his throat. Kagome grinned as her pup tried to growl back. Seeming to be satisfied Sesshomaru left to fill out all her paper work, leaving her alone with Dr. Aso.
Kagome looked up as she heard a small coughing sound. Dr. Aso grinned at her again. "What are you going to name him?" Kagome looked down at her son, her pup. One name seemed to fit him perfectly.
"Takeru. Taisho Takeru."

"The patients status levels are off the chart! What's going on in here....?" The younger nurse stood by the side of the bed as the patient thrashed around in his bed. It wasn't that that had terrified her though. It was the feirce growling he was doing. "Kagome" was the only intelligable word they heard.
The older nurse didn't bat an eye as she pulled out a cell phone from her pocket. Never taking her eyes from the growling man she spoke into the small device. "Mr. Blackenburg? The patient is waking. He keeps growling the name 'Kagome'. Oh and by the way? You were right. He's a hanyou."

All right. To all those who have written such sweet things and waited so long I thank you! You will never know how much I appreciated it. :)
I'm trying at the moment to write but it's going very slowly. Between babies, my honey, and a wacky family life it's been hectic to say the least. Please be patient with me.
Love to all you lovelies!
