A/N: I am deeply sorry that I have not updated in a while. I kept second-guessing myself with this chapter, and it really was a bitch to get out. I am not going to go into further details as to why—it will just complicate matters. I am however am going to say that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, and maybe if it was written constructively, I would have respected the criticism more so than being made fun of! Don't psychoanalyze me…especially if you don't know anything about me. If I was angry, then their would have been far more swear words in my statement.

Thank you so much for the reviews! Oh, and for some reason having problems uploading the edits again, so if you notice a missing chapter, I am trying to fix the problem

Chapter 32
A Change of Plans

Kagome returned to her room, she could see Inuyasha lying on the bed with a scowl look upon his face. His black bangs covering his brown eyes. “I can see you're still upset with me!”

Inuyasha didn't look at her, he just kept sulking, thinking of way's to protect her once again. He hated tonight, and he hated that he felt so helpless. This might have been his night where he was human; however, some of his demon strength remained—yet, not enough to face Naraku! `Out of all the fucking nights…, why did tonight have to be the night of the new moon?'

Inuyasha growled, thinking about how close he was to mating with her. He'd never been given the chance, and now he might never be able to again. This scared him immensely. “And, why would you think that!” he exclaimed snidely, but still he couldn't dare look at her.

Kagome heard the harshness in his voice, and she knew he was far from happy with her. “I'm sorry Inuyasha, that you're so upset with me? But, I can't let anything happen to Rin! Please, understand what Naraku did is unforgivable. Just think of what he could do to her—I can't and will not, allow you to sit there and sulk! Because, of my decision!” She was close to crying; no, she didn't want to face Naraku…unless she had a weapon to destroy him. “Besides, Rin will be returned safely.” She started to walk towards the bathroom. She wanted to hide and cry herself hysterical, praying that tomorrow wouldn't come.

Inuyasha watched her carefully from the corner of his eye, “I killed him once, Kagome! I broke his fucking neck; I—no,” he corrected, “We watched him die! Now, I'm going to watch you leave me…! Just to return to that fucker-I think not! I will do whatever it takes, so you stay!”

Kagome chuckled dryly, as she turned her head, watching him stare at her with heated eyes. “You can't stop me!” She challenged, then lowered her head, “and besides, what kind of person would I be, Inuyasha? If I let Rin, feel Naraku's wrath because of me!” She wiped the tears she so, urgently fought, “I can't even imagine what he's doing to her…can you? You know, and I know, first hand…what kind of monster he is, and I have no choice-” without finishing her sentence, Kagome swiftly ran into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her.

Inuyasha sighed, as he heard her crying. It wasn't that Inuyasha didn't want Rin home safely, he just knew there had to be a better way than sacrificing the woman he loved! He couldn't handle listening to her cry— a part of him wanted to comfort her, and the other part of him, wanted to confine her to her room, as Sesshomaru and him rescued Rin.

Inuyasha stood from his bed, and approached the bathroom door. He knocked against the white door, violently. His anger and Kagome's stubbornness made him antsy. He needed to be the one, consoling her. “Kagome…?”

Asuka couldn't contain her excitement as she waited for her family that still haven't' walked through the door. Standing up she headed for the kitchen.

Attached to the chrome-color refrigerator door, was a white piece of paper. Pulling the note firmly away from the blue dolphin magnet, she looked at Sango's number gratefully, and then picked up the phone.

The music was loud, as the rock band progressed throughout the night.

Sango had been extremely busy, as she served alongside two other bartenders that showed up later in the evening. It was a successful night, however, not too overly crowded where two servers couldn't handle the customers. She watched Miroku as he bobbed his head to the music. She needed to face him. His words still haunted her. “I'm taking a break.” She announced.

Walking up to Miroku, who seemed to be into the band, she nudged him gently on the arm, asking hesitantly. “Hey, do you want to go outside…and talk?”

Miroku nodded, as he followed her outside, as the cool night air whipped around their heated bodies. Sango placed a brick to prop the black iron door, and then leaned against the red brick building.

Miroku was nervous—worried of her rejecting him. He knew that he was feeling pushy, yet he couldn't help it, he felt so strongly for her—

Miroku suddenly turned around, facing Sango, with hungry, yet angry eyes. “Well…I've been here most of the night…are you going to finally explain yourself?”

Sango narrowed her eyes. “Why should I!” she said definitely, she certainly didn't like the tone he was perceiving. `What's with this guy…one night and he thinks that he owns me?'

“Sango, I know that I should just walk away—you obviously don't want a relationship with me…I just—just thought, maybe you felt the same as me?” Miroku turned his head away, taking in a deep breath, he continued. “I believe you're wrong…I believe that we can go…”

“To, what…, what can we possibly achieve, if we're in a relationship?” Sango snorted, “and yes, I felt it too…” she confessed.

“Then why are you running away?” Miroku asked softly, as he began approaching her. He watched her as she backed into the brick wall with no means of escape. Sango's large brown eyes widened fearfully, as he pushed her gently against the wall. “Tell me you don't want me…tell me, and I will never come around again.” He said his voice smooth and seductively as his lips where dangerously close to hers.

Sango closed her eyes; his scent was, teasingly arousing. He smelt so good, he felt wonderful against her body. She just wanted to burry her head against his neck, basking in the tantalizing aroma. Her body suddenly became aflame with life. Her mind went numb with lust…she couldn't concentrate…, and she felt conflicted between her desires, and the harsh reality that Miroku, could be the best thing that happened to her in a long time. “Miroku,” she responded, her lips barely opened, and her face flushed. Not to mention, that his arousal was rubbing up against her, defiantly wasn't helping her decision. She closed her eyes, as her lips were barley touching his, and then she made contact.

This kiss was far more passionate than her first with the man. It was as if she could feel him pouring every ounce of emotion into the kiss. She smiled, he did feel the same way, and maybe this could work out? Whatever she was feeling, she knew that running away from him, was not the right answer.

Miroku was aghast, `she didn't reject me…!' His hands had a mind of their own, as they crept up the sides of her curved waist, and then began to massage her covered breasts.

Sango moaned against his mouth, as his hands did wonders to her sensitized body. She wanted him more than ever, and couldn't deny it any longer. She was about to respond to his prior question, when her cell phone began to ring. Pushing away suddenly with the distraction, she frowned, seeing the look of disappointment on Miroku's face. She gave an apologetic smile towards Miroku. Not looking at the id on the small screen, conducting herself, flipping open her phone she answered the call.

It was Asuka, “Hello…is everything alright?” It wasn't like Kagome's mother to call so late.

“Yes dear, everything is fine. Sorry to call you this time at night, but I must share some good news!

Asuka told Sango everything and Sango could not contain her excitement that her friend was still alive. She watched Miroku look at her curiously. “So, Kagome is with Inuyasha, this man that saved her life?”

“Yes, and said she would be returning home soon.” Asuka responded, just as exuberantly as Sango.

Miroku's jaw dropped, `were they talking about the same Inuyasha?'

“That's great! I am ecstatic, and relieved. Please let me know when she arrives, maybe we can have a welcome home party for her.” Sango chuckled, “And, I will have to meet this mysterious man who rescued her…”

Yes, but just remember I have to confront him first.” Asuka laughed quietly. “Other than that, the party idea sounds wonderful, and yes I will call you as soon as she returns home.”

“Okay, well I guess I'll be talking with you again soon,” Sango said with a bright smile.

After flipping the phone closed, Sango place the item back into her pants pocket. She glanced up at Miroku, and frowned; Miroku looked utterly confused, “Are you alright?”

“Kagome…?” Inuyasha yelled, he was becoming frustrated that she wouldn't answer him, nor open the door. “If you don't open up…I'm breaking it down!”

Kagome cringed, hearing the loud banging and his boisterous voice. “Go away, Inuyasha…! There's nothing else to discuss!”

“The hell there isn't!” Inuyasha snarled. `Damn woman! Being defiant as usual,' he thought.

Sesshomaru rolled around on his bed. He couldn't sleep, he was to worried about his mate and not to mention he could hear the heated argument across the hall. Even after, he propped the door up against the frame, the noise still emanated in his room. “Damn!' he silently cursed. Standing up he growled, and headed towards his brother's room.

Moving the broken door aside, Sesshomaru howled loudly, “Inuyasha…!”

Inuyasha heard his brother yell, but chose to ignore him. His main concern was getting Kagome out of the bathroom. He backed away from the door some, leaning his shoulder forward, ready to ram in the door. Unexpectedly, Inuyasha's own door flew open; he glared at his brother who stood in the doorway. “This doesn't concern you!” Inuyasha spat, even though he knew damn well, why his brother was here.

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes coldly towards his younger brother. “Inuyasha, I understand why you're angry, and no I don't want to see Kagome sacrifice herself on my behalf.” He tossed his long hair aside from his face, as he slowly approached the bathroom door. He could smell the saline from her tears, and listened to her muffled cries.

Inuyasha suddenly felt guilty, that he even yelled at Kagome, and turned his head away, so he couldn't see the heated glare coming from his brother. Inuyasha sulked, “I don't want to lose her.” He glanced up, as Sesshomaru gave him a knowing look. “You, don't understand! I thought Naraku was going to rape her in front of me!”

Kagome wiped her tears away, as she tried to listen to the muffled voices. She arose from the cold tile floor, not realizing that her once white robe had a nice sized red blotch inside—visible from her backside. She glanced in the mirror, noticing that she looked like a nervous wreck. Her eyes were swollen, and bloodshot; she was almost afraid to leave the bathroom. Running the cold water, she greedily splashed the clear liquid across her face.

As she approached the towel rack, her robe loosened, and she felt something warm and moist rub across the back of her thigh. She froze, as she cautiously looked down. Just because she did see not anything didn't mean it wasn't there. She was afraid, that she started and didn't have anything to protect herself from her untimely predicament. “Dammit all to hell!” she swore loudly, as she untied her robe. Taking off her garment, she inspected it. “Shit!” She rolled her eyes in annoyance, and then decided another shower was a necessity.

The brothers stopped arguing, hearing the water from the bathroom. Sesshomaru looked over at his brother, seeing the same robe. He'd suddenly realized that his mate's suitcase was still in his bedroom. He would also grab something for Inuyasha to wear as well. “I will return, and Inuyasha.” He growled. “This conversation is far from over.”

Inuyasha watched his brother leaving the room. “Damn!” he swore. He tried the bathroom door once more it was still locked. Frowning he decided to sit on the bed. He reminisced on their previous conversation, he would listen to his brother for once—and wait for the phone call.

Reconsidering, his previous thoughts Inuyasha realized that there was no way that he would let Naraku take Kagome, let alone keep Rin. He would allow Kagome to be exchanged; he had confidence that his brother already had a plan. Sesshomaru might have been upset with him; however, he was so collective and calm. He knew the wheels in his brother's head were spinning and Naraku was in for a rude awakening.

Sesshomaru was thankful for Kagome and her unexpected shower. He frowned, `Naraku almost raped Kagome.' He couldn't help but dwell about Rin. However, the man on the other line promised that no harm would come to Rin if Kagome was returned. He glanced over at the small table clock, he frowned it was 2:30 in the morning. He growled no one was going to sleep tonight, grabbing the suitcases he left his room.

Miroku stayed, while he watched Sango close up the place. All night, he sat there drowning out the music, contemplating if Inuyasha was still alive.

“Are you ready?” Sango asked.

Miroku glanced down at his watch, it said 3:30 glancing up he smiled, “of course.” He beamed; again, he would be able to feel her caress, as he would make love to her, until he passed out from sheer exhaustion.

Outside, Miroku grabbed Sango's hand, stilling her from any further movements towards her car. “Are you sure, you want to do this?” He asked, slightly nervous `what am I nuts,' he thought, praying she would comply.

Sango giggled, with a large grin, she approached him, kissing him gently on the lips. “Yes, I am sure.”

Figuring he wasn't going to get any answers to his friend whereabouts. He would just enjoy his night—and his lovely company. Bringing her closer, he smiled as he deepened the kiss. Pulling away, leaving her breathless, with a sensual smile, he whispered in her ear, “your place, or mine?”

Naraku tossed and turned, he was overly excited about tomorrow's meeting, and couldn't sleep. Deciding not to wait until the morning to call, he climbed out of bed and headed down the hall where Bankotsu was guarding Rin's room.

Naraku growled, seeing Bankotsu asleep. He was about to question his subordinate when realized he wasn't asleep. This put him at ease. “How's Rin?”

“She cried herself asleep,” Bankotsu stated, as he stood up and stretched. “Is everything okay?”

Naraku grinned sardonically, “Bankotsu seems that plans are going to change.”

“Sir…?” Bankotsu questioned with a confused tone.

“I need the number to Sesshomaru's room, and don't worry about calling him,” he said as Bankotsu pulled out his cell phone apparently getting ready to make the call. “I'll take it from here.”

“Very well sir.”

Naraku took the offered phone, and walked away. He would make sure that Sesshomaru fully understood what would happen to his mate, if Sesshomaru decided to deceive him.
