Sesshoumaru caught the fainting figure before she hit the floor. He carried her back to her bed and tucked her inside the sheets. He smiled softly and removed a couple of black wavy strands of hair from her face. She was so cute when she slept he decided. "Just like Rin when she was a little girl. Gods how I miss you Rin. You were truly the light in my life back then. I wonder if you ever knew what you did to me?" He felt a sad feeling erupt inside his chest when he thought of his young ward. She had died of old age, but to him she would always be his little girl, his Rin. After her passing he had grown cold for over a century, until the day he had stumble upon a young and foul mouthed hanyou girl with silver white hair and puppy ears. With a light sniff at her he knew that she was the daughter of Inuyasha. And then it hit him lightning fast - he was an uncle!! And the young girl, hardly more than fifteen years of age had almost gotten to him. She was fast and strong, she did not fear him even if she only was a quarter of a demon. She had given him a run for his money, although in the end she had been defeated and carried in the most humiliated way back to her parents. After a few quarrels, growls and snarls, the two brothers had called a truce and began working on behaving like true brothers again. Inuyasha introduced Sesshoumaru to Sango and his daughter Aya. Sango had sadly talked about what happened that fateful day when Kagome had gotten raging fit and sealed the well for all time to come, all because she was jealous of Sango's and Inuyasha's mating. He had invited the small family to live with him in his castle, mumbling something about it being big and empty and too silent. His brother had talked it over with Sango and Aya and they agreed.
Now, four hundred years later his castle had been converted to a big mansion instead, Inuyasha and his family still lived there. Sesshoumaru was a proud uncle to four more children of Inuyasha and Sango. But at one time he felt like he was… always in the way, so he had bought a flat and moved in to it instead.
But he always came home on Sundays to eat dinner. Inuyasha was one hell of a cook, even though he still grunted something about it being women's work.
His attention was drawn back to the young woman next to him and he looked down and saw her dark green eyes flutter open.
- Ayumi-chan?
- Sesshoumaru-sama? W-what happened? asked Ayumi, trying to cope with her situation.
- You fainted.
She looked up and saw him sit next to her on the bed; she gasped when she saw his silvery mane and pointed ears. His words came back to her and she crawled away a bit, until her back hit the wall.
- Don't be afraid Ayumi-chan, I can not stand to smell your fear, he said with a low voice and looked away.
- But you tried to kill Kagome-chan!! she whispered.
- It was a long time ago, in fact it was over five hundred years ago, sighed Sesshoumaru and rose to his feet.
Ayumi's eyes widened, she did not believed one word of what he said to her.
- It is the truth, but I imagine Kagome-san never told you about the magic well that transported her back in time. Where she encountered both demons and half demons…
It was when he told her this when she remembered the obscure ramblings from Kagome on the way back to the shrine that fateful day. She had talked about the same things, exactly the same things. Ayumi paled noticeable.
- Indeed I met Kagome-san in the past, and I did try to kill her and my half brother Inuyasha.
- But if you are a demon… is he a demon too?
- Only half demon, his mother was human. And he took a girl, a demon slayer no less, as mate. They have given me five wonderful nieces and nephews, smiled Sesshoumaru.
- Her name was Sango?
- Yes, how did you know?
- Kagome always… whined about that a girl named Sango took Inuyasha away from her, and complaining about Inuyasha being too weak. Sometimes I could swear she hated this girl. And I never thought Kagome ever could be a person that could hate anyone, said Ayumi with a low voice.
- On that I agree with you Ayumi-chan, because she always seemed so cheery on our every encounter, complied Sesshoumaru with a frown.
Silence fell; none seemed for a moment to know what to talk about.
Ayumi moved to sit on the edge of the bed; she fiddled nervously with the hem on her shirt.
Sesshoumaru looked at her door and got a scolding face. He had broken her door and it needed to be replaced. "Or you could move her to your place…." A small voice smiled in the back of his head. And she had promised him to go with him on a date, a dinner-date. In a black tight dress that could make every man drool with need. His mind smiled wickedly and he looked with his golden gaze on her nervous form.
- Ayumi-chan, I believe you owe me a date, he said and smiled.
- I do don't I, she said.
- A dinner no less, and you agreed to wear that black dress I saw you in. Do you have it?
- Of course, I had to pay it because I needed to get Kagome out of there in a hurry, said Ayumi.
- Good, then take it on now and I will take you out to dinner.
- But…
- Changes clothes in the bathroom Ayumi-chan, unless you want me to help you…?
Ayumi gasped when she heard his suggestive purring tone.
- Hurry up, I am no man of great patience, he growled.
She got up on her feet and rummaged through her closet and found the black dress and rushed inside her bathroom and looked the door behind her. Although she was pretty sure that there was no door that could hold him once he decided he wanted inside. She could have sworn she heard him chuckle darkly when she pushed bathroom door into place. "MEN!!" she wanted to scream but she held her tongue.
