Ten minutes later Sesshoumaru heard the bathroom door unlock and he raised a surprised eyebrow; this was not something he had expected. She came out her hair was still in a disarray, she managed to pull some strands through her fingers, combing it roughly. He smiled and looked around and found a brush on the bureau under the hall mirror. He took it and turned to look at Ayumi. He held up the brush and smiled again.

- May I groom your hair Ayumi-chan?

She blushed and stuttered out an approving answer. His seductive smile only grew when he moved to stand behind her. She was surprised to feel how gentle his touch was. It was like it he never touched her hair at all. She could not help it, she closed her eyes and enjoyed his "grooming".

- Ayumi-chan, he whispered softly. - You hair is like the finest silk.

It was perhaps the way he said it that made Ayumi shiver and she let out a low moan. Sesshoumaru wanted to growl when he felt her scent spike in arousal. He moved his nose closer to her hair and took a deep whiff out of her flowery scent. "Gods, she smells so good. I wish I could claim her right here." he thought and put away the brush, pushing away his urges to mate.

- Are you ready? he asked huskily and was pleased to see her nod.

- Where are you taking me? she asked when they stepped outside.

- It will be a surprise my dear.

Ayumi wanted to gulp when she saw the sparkle of mischief in his eyes. But she did shriek a bit when he picked her up bridal style and took a giant leap up on the nearest roof.

She could not believe it. She was flying over the great city of Tokyo, in the arms of a demon no less. This just had to be unreal, this could not be happening. Not to her, she was just an ordinary young woman with out any specific plans for the future. Sure she dreamt about be swept of her feet, but not like this.

Sesshoumaru landed on top of the buildings where his favourite restaurant was located. He put Ayumi back on her feet, but he felt her legs give in and he settled down with her in his lap for a moment.

- Are you ok Ayumi-chan? he asked.

- Ok? Am I ok? I don't know actually - hell I don't even know where the hell I am, she spat out and hit her flat hand over his chest.

- Just relax koi…

That had her silent… She turned her dark emerald gaze towards him, trying to figure out what the hell his game was. He was playing with her, wasn't he? Because no man… ehh demon, in their right mind would… love her. She was just a girl, a plain girl; it was nothing special about her. She was not smart like Kagome, she was not fast talking like Yuka, she was not even as forward as Eri. So why was he acting like this towards her? Why did he call her koi? "Oh my god, he called me koi - love?" her minds voice shrieked when she tried to process his words.

Sesshoumaru chuckled when he saw her bewildered look and he kissed her forehead before helping her up to stand on her own two feet again.

- Come, it is time to have dinner little Ayumi.

- Did you just call me…?

- Yes I did, I have done so for a very long time I think, said Sesshoumaru when she could not form the word.

- Long time?

- Since I saw you in that park all those years ago.

- IT WAS YOU!!!!

- Shhh, of course it was me, said Sesshoumaru and opened up a door and led Ayumi down the stairs.

Ayumi chewed on her lower lip, wondering if it would be wise to go through with this. But then her heart sprung to life, her soul shouted to her mind. "Of course I will. I have a demon with the cutest butt in the world calling me koi. I've got a demon that can untangle my hair with out me even notice it… Of course I will enjoy him." And with a nod to her self she descended down the stairs with a silver haired demon behind her.

Sesshoumaru was glad that the little kitsune, now full grown of course, had started up this little refuge, this restaurant for demons only. Shippou-san and his mate Souta was very good with hiding this place for the humans, but it was haven for youkais. And as soon as Sesshoumaru knocked on the detailed decorated door he was greeted by Shippou.

- Good afternoon Sesshoumaru-sama, it is nice to see you again, said Shippou with a wide smile and opened up the door to let the dog demon inside.

- Thank you Shippou-san, I hope you still can manage to get a table for me and my lady for the evening? Asked Sesshoumaru.

- Of course Sesshoumaru-sama, please follow me.

Shippou sniffed the girl invisible and was surprised to find out that she was a human. That was very odd; because Sesshoumaru was someone you would not see around humans, even less se him take a human girl to dinner at the Youkai Penthouse. He sniffed again and something way back in his memories told him that he had smelt her scent before, but where? He shrugged and showed the odd couple to a secluded booth next to the window. He gave them two menus and walked away. "Shippou, think… think… you have smelled her before…" he ranted inside his little red head. But he then shook his head again, it was not working at all.

Sesshoumaru saw and heard the sniffing Shippou did around Ayumi and he guessed he recognized it but could not quite place it. He decided to go and talk to Shippou, knowing that the fox had loved Kagome as a surrogate mother once.

- Will you excuse me for a few moments Ayumi-chan? he said and rose from the table.

- O-ok, whispered Ayumi. She felt a bit uneasy with this place. She could almost feel the strength and power from the other visitors in this restaurant. And it was not getting any better when she saw them look at her beneath their bangs.

- Don't worry; you are safe here, ensured Sesshoumaru with a small smile. - I must have a word with Shippou-san, you see, he once knew Kagome-san. And I think he have the right to know what happened to your friend.

- Oh, ok.

Sesshoumaru made a drastic move and kissed her lightly on the lips before moving away to the kitchen area.

Ayumi blushed deeply and when Sesshoumaru was gone she moved her fingers to touch her lips. Had he kissed her..? It had been so light, but it felt like it had burned her.

Sesshoumaru found Shippou in the kitchen and the fox smiled towards the dog demon.

- What can I do for you uncle Sesshou? asked Shippou more informal.

- I saw you sniffing around my lady tonight and I guessed you recognized her scent, said Sesshoumaru and in a rare display of emotions he hugged the kitsune. The fox had been adopted by Sango and Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru had been both proud and embarrassed the kitsune called him uncle for the first time.

- Yes that is true uncle Sesshou, but I can not quite place it.

- Her name is Amai, Ayumi - and she is a friend of Kagome. My guess is that Kagome from time to time used to carry her scent with her.

- Oh, I understand. But why are you with her? Have you seen Kagome lately?

- I am with her because I have my eye set on her for a couple of years now. And when I last saw Kagome-san, it did not go very well. And according to Ayumi-chan she has been ill a long time. She has probably been ill from the day she sealed the well.

Shippou's face went sad when he heard Sesshoumaru tell him about Kagome's outburst that afternoon and Ayumi's small breakdown earlier this day.

- Do you think Kagome-mama will be alright? asked Shippou silently when Sesshoumaru stopped talking.

- I don't know Shippou-kun, I really don't know. I am sorry.

- But why Ayumi uncle Sesshou?

- She reminds me a lot of Rin. I can not stop thinking about her, I want to have her close to me at all time. She makes me smile and groom all day. She is like a fresh breeze of spring air, said Sesshoumaru with the hint of a wicked smile and Shippou began laughing.

- Oh man, the great lord has fallen in love at last.

- I expect to be served soon Shippou-kun, snorted the lord.

- Of course Sesshoumaru-sama, said Shippou.

Sesshoumaru went back to Ayumi and what he saw made his eyes almost bleed over to red with jealousy.
