Stuck With You
Chapter 7:Lost

Inuyasha stood there staring at Kagome. `How could she have tricked me? I should have realized! The clothes, the jewelry, the perfume…… She was even sitting on the throne chair in the tournament! How could I not have noticed? She was hesitating when she first said her `name' to me. I'M SO DENSE!' he yelled in his head.
"Umm…… Inuyasha," Sango said, trying to get Inuyasha's attention. "Sir?" she called out to him. Inuyasha didn't seem to be listening. Heck, he didn't even seem to be on earth. Sango tried again. "Inuyaaaaaaaaaaasha!?!" Inuyasha was still sulking in his head. Sango knocked on his head. "HelloooOOOOooo! You there?" Sango knew she wasn't supposed to be acting like this since she was a servant and all but people barely treated her like a servant anyway. She'd been here so long that she was like a sister to Kagome and a daughter to the queen.
Inuyasha didn't seem to notice Sango at all. "She," he started out slowly. "She lied to me Sango."
Sango looked at him curiously. "What do you mean? Have you met her before or something?" Sango asked.
Inuyasha wasn't even listening to Sango. "She's in for it now!" he mumbled under his breath as he walked toward Kagome.
Kagome was alert and on her heels. Her mother was talking to her but she could only see queen Ichigo's lips move. Kagome didn't even bother to hear what she had to say. She appeared to be attentively listening on the outside but on the inside, Kagome was really thinking about how Inuyasha would react when he found out she was actually the princess and not just some cook. She tried to tell herself to calm down. Kagome's mother stopped talking and looked somewhere behind Kagome and smiled. Kagome would bet anything that it was Inuyasha standing behind her and would give anything for it not to be.
"Oh Kagome," said Inuyasha's voice sweetly behind her. Kagome turned around to face him. Was he being nice to her? Maybe he just overlooked this whole thing and considered it just a little misunderstanding. Kagome seriously doubted that though.
"Y-Yes?" Kagome gulped nervously. What was he going to do to her? She was almost shaking in fear.
"We best be getting to sleep now, hmm?" Inuyasha said softly and nicely to her. He wasn't fooling her though! Not one bit! She could see right through him and knew that the niceness thing was just an act! That's what made her so scared though.
"Mmmhmm," Kagome said without opening her mouth. Inuyasha charmingly extended his hand out to her and smiled at her. Kagome hesitated a bit before taking it and shot a quick `help me' look to Sango who just shrugged and grinned at her. Kagome gasped at how evil she was being. Her own best friend too! Well…… she didn't need Sango! She could do it by herself...Hopefully.
Inuyasha lead her out of the crowded room into a hallway. Then they took a turn and found a door which they opened and it led to another hallway. They then took a right then a left then another left then a right. They continued the process over and over leading to many dead ends and going down flights of stairs. Inuyasha was now walking down a long hallway pulling Kagome along not too gently with her hand.
Kagome knew Inuyasha probably didn't know where they were going. Heck she didn't even know where they were and she lived in the palace her whole life! Inuyasha slowed his pace down and Kagome knew for sure he was lost and if he was lost, she was lost too. She looked around. There weren't any servant's around here either. That meant there was nobody to ask for directions. "Umm…… Inuyasha?" Kagome said quietly.
Inuyasha let go of her hand and turned around so quickly that Kagome jumped back a bit. He had realized they were lost a long time ago but wouldn't admit it and kept on going. "What?!" he snapped.
Kagome rolled her eyes at Inuyasha's childishness which only caused Inuyasha to glare at her. "Do you have any idea where we are?" she almost yelled at him.
Inuyasha was surprised for a second. He always thought of her as a scared little goody goody girly girl, but obviously, she wasn't. Inuyasha got even madder once he got over the temporary shock. "Of course I do, dummy! We're right here! Can't you see?" Inuyasha said angrily.
Okay, this guy was really getting on her nerves. "Humph! Dodo head!" Kagome insulted him.
"What?!" Inuyasha yelled, "You're the dodo head!" Who did this girl think she was? Calling him a dodo head like that…
"I am so not a dodo head! You got it mixed up in that puny little brain of yours." Kagome yelled back to him. Kagome was nowhere near scared of this guy anymore.
"Hey! I do not have a puny brain!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Yea you do! In fact, I can prove it!" Kagome leaned slightly forward and Inuyasha was slightly curious as to what she was going to do. Kagome knocked on his head twice making a big sound. "Oh dear I was wrong. You don't have a puny brain!" Kagome said making it sound like she was wrong.
"Dang right I don't!" Inuyasha said proudly.
"By the big sound of it, you have no brain at all! A hollow head!" Kagome yelled at him, telling him off and feeling satisfied.
Inuyasha sat down, crossed his arms, and turned around so he wouldn't have to face Kagome. `That girl,' he thought, `I can't think of any good comebacks today! Maybe she's just too good,' Inuyasha though glumly. `Ack! No! What am I saying? Nobody can think of as good comebacks as me!' Inuyasha was in his own world of thoughts again, completely forgetting that Kagome was right there.
Kagome watched him curiously. She felt a little guilty for yelling at Inuyasha so bad. She walked around to face the front of Inuyasha instead his back after deciding it would be much more interesting to face to front of Inuyasha then just randomly staring at his back. He didn't move an inch. Kagome sat down in front of him so she was almost eye level, just a bit shorter. He still didn't budge. Kagome waved her hand in front of face and said, "Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha looked at her and blink a couple of times. Kagome cocked her head to one side. Inuyasha rudely turned around to face to other way. Kagome walked around to face him and sat down again. Inuyasha felt a smelt tug on his lips but he didn't let it go.
"What do you want?" he asked trying to look mad, but he couldn't look mad even when he tried for some reason. It was probably the way Kagome was acting.
"Do you know where we are?" she asked him nicely this time. He shook his head slowly and turned around again. "Well that's just dandy because I really have no idea at all where we are either."
"It's all your fault!" Inuyasha said. It might not be her fault but he needed someone to blame it on anyway.
"Excuse me? My fault? How is it my fault?" Kagome said hurt and offended but trying to sound mean and angry anyway.
"If you hadn't tricked me into believing you were Mizuho, we never would have gotten into this mess!" Inuyasha told her angrily.
"You're the one who walked around the castle without even knowing where you were going!" Kagome said. A cool breeze swept through the hallway causing the fire along the walls to burn out. That made it pitch dark. Kagome made a small eep and felt around for Inuyasha.
Inuyasha had better eyesight then her because he was half demon and he could just make out her form feeling around for him." I-Inuyasha?"
"Yeah?" he smirked. "Afraid of the dark?" Inuyasha was making fun of her at a time like this. Tsk tsk.
Kagome finally gave up on trying to find Inuyasha, stood up, and put her hands on her hips. "Yeah," she finally said.
Inuyasha didn't expect that. He expected some rude comment telling him off again. He didn't say anything for a while and saw Kagome's figure trying to feel him again. "Inuyasha? Did you leave me?" she said scared.
"Ya know, that might not be a bad idea," Inuyasha said seriously thinking about just dumping her there. No, that would just be too mean.
"Don't you dare Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled. Her hand caught on to a piece of his hair. "Where would you even go? Besides, you wouldn't want your precious hair to be pulled out now do you?"
"Okay, okay! Just don't touch the hair," Inuyasha said and pulled Kagome down to sit next to him.
"Oww! You didn't have to be so rough!" Kagome fake pouted.
"How long are we stuck here?" Inuyasha asked. He wanted to go home.
"Umm, for a few hours at the most," Kagome said. Kagome thought about it. `A few hours? With this jerk? Ugh, that's plain torture!' She really hoped a servant would be coming soon.
They stayed there for a while, not talking. Inuyasha felt Kagome's head fall on her shoulder. He was about to yell at her, saying that he wasn't a head rest but then he realized she was asleep. He didn't want to wake her up. If he was nice now, nobody would ever know. Kagome shivered at the coldness. There was no fire, no light, nobody to come find them in hours. Inuyasha sighed and took of his red top thingy, (what do you called it?) leaving a white top. Careful not to wake up Kagome, he put it on her as a blanket. Kagome stopped shivering and he smiled. Not his usual smirk, but a kind, sincere smile.
