Days went on quite as usually, although Sesshomaru was being more silent than normal. Jaken felt his master's anger and kept silent as well since he didn't want to get killed....

Rin still had that little sad look on her though she was utterly happy sometimes as well, whenever she was, Jaken noticed, his master seemed to get even more disturbed. So after a couple of days like this he felt he should inform Rin about the current situation as to not get her killed either.

When they took a break around the middle of the day Jaken dragged her out of earshot from his master and explained what he knew to her. Rin really grasped it all, but as a result she became sadder as well. Don't he like me at all? Why did he revive me then? Out of pity? No, Sesshomaru-sama isn't that type of person really...but still...why.... Have I done something wrong? Jaken felt sorry for the girl, but he was sure that their master would come to better thoughts soon, probably just something Inuyasha said at their last encounter. He patted her arm and walked away. Rin was left alone to feel miserable.

 

Sesshomaru were troubled. What did Rin feel? No wait! Why would he care about that?

Well, he didn't actually know, but he knew that he wondered what she felt (about him).

He needed to know if she felt sad or happy or if it just was his head playing tricks on him.

He cursed himself over and over again as he walked to find Rin. He had barely noticed her and Jaken leaving somewhere. He sniffed the air, picking up her scent. He felt his cold demon heart melt and ache. He swore over and over again to never let a human live by his side again. It was far too troublesome. It was enough having an embarrassment for a brother and his ridiculous companions strutting after.

Dammit! When Rin died (humans are so fragile, if she does not die from any diseases or wounds she still will not be living for a long time, demons are far better) he would kill any human trying to make contact with him. He might spare their lives if it was convenient for him though.

Continuing to follow her trace he kept thinking about her in all kind of ways, blaming her, blaming himself. He felt as if everything was just spinning around, nothing made real sense, and this frustrated the demon dog enormously.

Getting closer he tried to ease himself, he didn't want to rip her apart before his mind became clear.

Sesshomaru finally saw her and his heart suddenly became heavy. She had the most miserable face he had ever seen her wear. Her eyes were wet from crying and she seemed to be cold and so very alone, scared and confused. He quickly asked himself if this was his deed. He didn't dare to say yes to that question. If he did, it meant that he had caused her all this.

Sesshomaru threw a quick curse over his father and his “human” heart. May he suffer for what he has done to me!

But his eyes then once again focused on Rin and her shaken, curled form. He walked towards her trying to think of what to do.

Rin looked up at him, as he stood before her looking rather confused, angry and worried at the same time. She had never seen him like this before. Was it her fault? Had she not pleased him with her silence and absence? Why did she do everything wrong? All she wanted was to make him happy.

Sesshomaru knelt down so that they were on the same eye level.

”Rin…”

”Sesshomaru-sama…gomen nasai!” She bowed her head in shame and tears trickled down her chin.

“Rin….It's ok, don't cry, please don't cry…. “Rin looked up with red and puffy eyes at her master, never before had she heard him ask for such a favour.

“Sesshomaru-sama”, she whispered with a weak voice.

“I'm the one to be sorry Rin”, at that point he took her small hands into his big and strong hands and held them against his chest. All Rin could do besides staring dumbfounded was to open and close her mouth. The otherwise talkative girl found no words. She would not in a lifetime forget about this moment when this demon dog, her master, Sesshomaru-sama apologizing to her. Sesshomaru-sama…. Rin could feel her heart beat so fast it hurt, no longer did she want to cry out of sadness but joy. The swelling emotions inside her ached and wanted satisfaction. She could feel herself bursting from inside.

“Sesshomaru-sama”, said demon dog looked up with troubled eyes.

“I'm happy Sesshomaru-sama, I'm happy because you said so, my heart is beating so fast with joy, can you feel it?” She drew one of his hands towards her heart.

“Rin?” Sesshomaru couldn't really believe what was happening. Was she really happy out of just a few words?

“Can you feel it Sesshomaru-sama?” He took his time and for sure could feel her heart.

“It's beating because of you, for you Sesshomaru-sama.” She suddenly felt very shy and almost regretted those words, but if she weren't able to tell him soon she would burst with either sorrow or pain.

“Rin?” Sesshomaru just couldn't grasp the situation. Did her heart beat because of him, for him? Well he did save her from death so it was because of him her heart did beat. But for him? Did she love him? He could feel a great amount of pressure in his chest not wanting to ease up. H e guessed that he needed to ask her the things he wanted to before the pain would let go.

”Rin?”

”Hai? Nani? Sesshomaru-sama?” The dog laid his hands on her fragile shoulders and looked her deeply in the eyes.

“Rin, do you love me?” At first she looked scared but then she seemed to melt before his eyes and he just waited for the answer. What if she said yes? Or no? Would it matter? What should he do if she said yes or no? His whole mind spun around.

“Hai, Sessho… mmm”, before she could react Sesshomaru had closed her lips together with his own in a strong and violent kiss. Her eyes widened at first but slowly closed as she gave in to the feeling oh his scent and strong arms on her shoulders. The kiss ended when they needed air. Both looked at each other with flushed cheeks and heaving chests. Both of them in this very moment had never been happier.

 

 

 

 

There will be one more chapter with lots of romance and sex ^^
