Interlude - Memories Lost.

AN: Gomen for being UBER late in updating. Right in the middle of moving, working nights and other issues, so needless to say it's been nerve racking. *sigh* Enjoy!

LAST TIME:

 

Kagome sobbed lightly, she knew she started it, but she never knew both of them felt the same way. Suddenly she snapped her head up as Inuyasha's voice rang clear through the heated emotions and hateful words.

 

“Get to work Runt; we have to find Kyohaku…and Koden. They've been missing for two hours now. Sesshomaru lost contact with them as the cyborg blew.”

 

She couldn't help it when she looked to the Goshinboku, she felt the sadness, the anger, the pain, she wailed as the tree swayed towards her releasing Koden's last scream for help. It wasn't for her mother like it always had been, it was for her father.

Inuyasha flattened his marked ears against his head as he heard Kagome wail. He knew the Goshinboku was affecting her too. All of their memories were tangled in that tree, their first meeting, their wedding, the birth of Koden and so many more. His step faltered for a split second as those memories came back to him, but he had more urgent issues to attend to at the moment.

 

“Inuyasha,” it was Ayame that snapped him out of his thoughts, “the skid mark end abruptly at a hole in the ground. From the old maps we have it's some kind of well we think.” Inuyasha grimaced.

 

“Yeah it's the Bone Eaters well, the time slip that let Kagome come and go from the Feudal Era.” He sighed.

 

`Dammit, of all the fucking places to go.' He growled lightly. `If the well lets me I have to go back and get her, I just hope she's run into Sango and the monk before anything. I have to go and get them and avoid being seen by our younger selves.'

 

“Dammit!” he snarled.

 

“Dog breath! What's going on?” Koga questioned loudly. “I have to go back, to the Feudal Era, to get Koden and Kyohaku. I just fucking hope the wells let's me through to get them, and let's us come back through here. We can't finish this fucking war without them.” Inuyasha was snarling now.

“Runt! Your coming with me, when we're back there I have to keep my mask on and shit if we run into them, the younger versions won't know you, just Koden and Kyohaku will.” He barked at Shippo. He hardened his gaze on him for an instant before Shippo nodded the ok that he would go.

Inuyasha then turned to an approaching Sesshomaru.

 

“General, you keep the humans away from this time slip, especially that fucking miko, that's all I need is for her to slip back with us and fuck everything up all over again.” He was speaking to Sesshomaru but his eyes and intentions were aimed at the slowly approaching Kagome. Inuyasha smirked suddenly, “better yet, put her under protective custody. Koga! Ayame! While I am gone, you and three others will stay with this wench at all times.”

 

“Wha!? You can't do that to me!” Kagome snapped horrified at the idea. Inuyasha turned abruptly on her and started stalking towards her, “Let's just call this little number our`Act of Faith'. We enforce it by putting faith in our own kind to watch over others who have ties to our kind, and in your case, your going in custody so you don't fuck us over again.” He snarled.

 

“Koden is my daughter as well Inuyasha.” She sneered. Kagome walked towards him intent on making her point. “She may not have liked what I enforced on you or what I tried to enforce on her, but it was for your own well being.” She hotly argued. “You didn't enforce anything on us bitch!” Inuyasha roared, “Your stupid human doctors forgot what courses through our veins, they forgot what is our central core, our youkai blood!” In a blink he had Kagome by her arms pressed against him.

 

He held her tightly against his chest, breathing in her scent; his youkai blood reveled in the scents and emotions rolling off of her. Inuyasha gave a wolfish grin as he licked the juncture of her neck where her pulse was rapidly rising. “I can hear your heart beat quicken, I can smell your fear roll off of you,” he whispered huskily into her ear. “I can see your pulse beat under your skin where I marked you.” Kagome eyes widened in surprise and let a soft gasp escape her lips. “You lost Koden the day you tried to take her gifts, and in the Youkai Army, you are a liability.”

 

Inuyasha suddenly grabbed her wrists and flung her towards where Koga and Ayame stood. “Watch her and take her to the Houshi.” Both of the wolf demons nodded and lead Kagome who was eerily quiet to a close by Youkai Army vehicle. Inuyasha watched as they loaded her into the back of the vehicle, sparing her one last glance, she locked eyes with him and whispered one word with every once of hatred and loathing she could muster against him, “Osuwari.”

 

Inuyasha crashed to the ground, sending some of the other troops skittering away from him. Both Sesshomaru and Shippo could hear every curse word he used in the five different languages he knew. Shippo stepped forward once he knew the spell was weakened to help him up. Inuyasha was seething now; he got his footing back and grunted. “Runt, get ready we're leaving in a hour, no additional gear, whatever you can fit on your body, in your uniform, get it ready, and I mean prepare for anything,” he ground out.

 

Shippo gave a curt nod as Inuyasha and Sesshomaru walked away to make plans for their departure. Shippo then turned his attention to the Youkia armored vehicle now leaving the scene.

 

`Kagome I pray to the Kami's that the Houshi and the God of War have mercy on you for what you have done. Back in the day you know we would have killed for less than that.' Shippo shook his head slowly and then turned away to ready himself for the next mission. Into the Bone Eater's Well.

 

AN - Again sorry for the super late chappie, I think I might be revamping Chapter 5 and this one once I get some time off, not sure I like how it turned out. Any suggestions? Give `em to me! Review! And thanks for sticking with me!
