anhimals: Don't worry, it'll happen soon. ^_^ Payday's are awesome! At my old job I'd look at my paycheck and say, "Damn, all that work for this?" But now it's like, "Woohoo! I'm making more money at this job that what I was making at my last job even after my raise!" lol I was seriously considering having Inu beat the crap out of Hojo, but then he'd have NO chance at getting Kagome back. I've got something in mind of what will happen, I just have to hope that I remember it. lol

At breakfast the next morning, Ms. Tsuyu informed all the seniors that they had the day to themselves. The majority of the students wanted to go to the beach, so Inu Yasha hurriedly formed a plan in his mind. He followed his friends up to the thirty-seventh floor and quickly changed into his swim shorts. When he finished, he went with Sess and Miroku down to the girl's room to wait for them. Sango and Rin were already wearing their swimsuits, and Kagome was finishing changing in the bathroom.

Inu Yasha walked over to the bathroom and said quietly, "You guys go ahead. We'll catch up."

Rin and Sango looked as if they were going to object, but Sess and Miroku pulled them out of the room. "They need to talk." Sess said as he held onto Rin.

"He's going to piss her off!" Sango practically yelled.

Miroku shrugged. "What's new?"

Rin pointed her finger at Sess and Miroku and said, "If she is upset because of this, the two of you have to do the can-can while wearing lingerie!"

Inu Yasha grabbed the door handle of the bathroom and opened the door, thankful that she hadn't locked it. He stepped inside quickly and shut the door as Kagome spun around, looking surprised.

"Inu Yasha!" She yelled as she covered herself with her towel.

He grinned. "First of all, I've already seen you. Second of all, you're wearing your swimsuit."

She just shook her head and said, "Do you need something?"

"You." He answered seriously.

She sighed and looked down. "Inu Yasha…"

He suddenly closed the distance between them and wrapped his arms around her body. Before Kagome could respond to the sudden closeness, he dipped his head down and kissed her partially open lips. Kagome hesitated slightly before responding to the kiss, opening her lips even more to allow his warm tongue to invade her mouth. They stayed in each other's embrace for practically an eternity, kissing each other passionately. Suddenly, Kagome pushed him back.

"No!" She cried as she stepped away from him. "Inu Yasha, we can't-"

"I'm still in love with you, Kagome." He interrupted. "Tell me that you aren't still in love with me. Look me in the eye right now and tell me, and I'll never bother you again."

Kagome's eyes filled with tears as she slowly looked up into his face. She licked her lips and then closed her eyes. Inu Yasha smirked.

"I knew it. You can't say it because it's not true. So stop being so stubborn, Kagome! We love each other, so the smart thing to do is to be with each other!"

Kagome rubbed her eyes and mumbled, "It's to painful, Inu Yasha."

He sighed and sat on the edge of the bathtub. Gently, he tugged her onto his lap, letting the towel fall away from her body. Kagome stumbled slightly, but landed on his lap without toppling over. He wrapped his arms tightly around her and said, "Not being with you is painful to me, Kagome."

Kagome took a deep breath before slowly leaning against his hard body, wrapping her arms around him. "I know." She murmured as she traced his muscles. "It hurts to much, like someone ripped out my heart."

He kissed the top of her head and said, "So why torture us with this? We both know that we want to be together."

She pulled back and looked in his eyes. "Because seeing you physically fighting with someone hurts me so much, too! Seeing you get hurt like that? It scares me. What if you get seriously hurt? What then?" Her voice quavered slightly and she looked down.

Inu Yasha pulled her into a tighter embrace and sighed. "Nothing will happen, Kagome."

She shook her head and tried to pull away from him. "You don't know that!"

Inu Yasha refused to let go of her. "What can I do to prove it to you?" When Kagome stopped struggling but didn't answer, he titled her head up to face him and immediately kissed her. Kagome sighed into the kiss, but responded. He sucked on her bottom lip as his hands ran over her smooth back, reveling in her softness. Kagome's hands were fisted in his hair, knowing that she shouldn't be giving in like this, but completely unable to stop.

Reluctantly, Inu Yasha pulled away from her lips only to trail wet kisses along her jaw and up to her ear. "Just tell me what I can do, Kagome." He said quietly.

She closed her eyes and bit back a moan as his lips teased her skin. Suddenly however, her eyes snapped open as she felt his hands slowly untying the straps to her swimsuit. She leapt off his lap in the blink of an eye and said in an unsteady voice, "You should go."

Inu Yasha sighed and stood up. He walked over to her, kissed the tip of her nose, and walked to the door. Grabbing the handle, he turned around and said, "Please just tell me what I can do to get you back, Kagome. I love you, and I won't stop until we're back together."

Kagome watched him leave and took a deep, steadying breath as her heart pounded.

Inu Yasha hurriedly let himself into the elevator. Glad that he was alone, he smacked his head against the wall and took a deep breath, trying to stifle his semi-arousal. He knew that he took it to far back there with her, but he can't resist her. It's like asking a parched man to turn down water! He took another deep breath and silently prayed that she would finally tell him what he could do to get her back.

At the beach, he found his friends near the water. He walked over to them slowly, trying to ignore the stares he was getting from Sango and Rin. Sess and Miroku stopped farting around when they saw their girlfriend/fiance watching Inu Yasha. Rin immediately walked over to Inu Yasha, Sango close behind her.

"Where's Kagome?" She asked quickly.

Inu Yasha looked away. "Probably still in the bathroom."

"No she's not." Sango said suddenly.

"How do you know?" Inu Yasha snapped.

"Because she's running over here right now."

Inu Yasha took a second to comprehend what she said. When he did, he turned around just in time to see Kagome run straight up to him and knock him over onto the sand. She landed on top of him, all but pinning him to the ground.

"Can you promise me that you won't fight again?" She asked, her voice shaking.

Inu Yasha looked seriously into her eyes and nodded his head.

Kagome sighed and closed her eyes. "Can you prove it?" She said barely above a whisper.

"How?" He asked her urgently.

Kagome shook her head. "I don't know. You figure that out. If you can prove to me that you won't fight over asinine things anymore, then-"

"You'll take me back." He finished quickly, hardly believing his ears.

Kagome nodded her head slowly. Inu Yasha sighed happily and pulled her into a tight hug. "Okay. I'll prove it to you."

Kagome hugged him back happily before she crawled off of him. He stood up quickly and she took a step back. "But until then, we're still just… friends."

Inu Yasha's smile faltered slightly. "Okay, friends. I think I can deal with that for now."

"Friends with benefits?" Miroku suddenly called out.

Sango rolled her eyes and covered his mouth with her hand. "Just ignore him, like we normally do."

Kagome giggled, embarrassed. Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and glanced back at Kagome for a split second before looking back at Sango as she screeched, "EW! You licked my hand again! What the hell is the matter with you?"

Miroku chuckled and quickly picked her up in his arms, enabling her to wrap her legs around him. "Well if you won't let me lick what I really want to lick, I'll have to settle for whatever I can get."

As Sango screamed in mortification, Miroku ran towards the water, laughing. Rin held onto her stomach as she laughed and Sess snorted in amusement. Kagome shook her head as she laughed and walked towards Rin and Sango's towels. She set her towel up beside their own and laid down. Rin gave Sess a quick kiss before running after Kagome. She laid down on her own towel and said, "So are you two okay now?"

Before Kagome could answer, Sango stormed over to them, fuming. She rang out her sopping hair and plopped down on her towel while mumbling, "Damn pervert! Doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut!"

Kagome laughed and glanced over at her friend. "You two are funny."

Sango blushed and said, "Oh shut up." She rubbed sunblock on herself as she looked over at Kagome and said, "So what's up with you and Inu Yasha?"

"Yeah!" Rin spoke up as she took some of Sango's sunblock.

Kagome sighed. "We talked."

Sano rolled her eyes. "Well we gathered that much. What did you two talk about? What made you decide to tackle him like that?"

Rin giggled as Kagome blushed. "We just kind of realized how much we wanted to be with each other and-"

"Actually Kagome, Inu Yasha already knew that. You were just being stubborn." Rin interrupted.

Kagome rolled her eyes and ignored her comment. "-and so I told him if he would prove that he won't fight, then we can still be together."

Sango nodded her head. "Sounds like a plan." Unexpectedly, she stuck the bottle over Kagome's bare stomach and squeezed, causing a large drop of the cold sunblock to land in her bellybutton. Kagome yelled and tried to roll away, but only rolled onto the sand, which stuck to the sunblock. The three of them laughed as Kagome stood up. She stuck her tongue out at them before brushing it off her stomach with a space towel. By that time, the three guys had walked over to them, each taking a seat by the one that they loved.

As Miroku watched Sango lather her body with the white liquid, he practically began drooling. Sango rolled her eyes and turned to Rin. "Could you do my back? I can't reach."

Before Rin could answer, Miroku snatched the bottle from his girlfriend and said, "I'd be happy to help you out, my love."

Sango laughed slightly at his enthusiasm but laid down on her stomach. Miroku grinned at the others, causing them to laugh. He quickly untied the straps to her swimsuit, causing her to jump slightly. "Miroku, what the hell!"

He pulled an innocent face as he looked at her. "It's easier this way, Sango. See, now I can get your entire back without anything in the way."

Sango blushed slightly and rolled her eyes, but placed her head back on her arms as a makeshift pillow. He grinned again poured a decent amount of sunblock into his hand and gingerly began rubbing it into Sango's creamy skin. Sango closed her eyes as his hands ran up and down her back, stopping before he reached her backside. His fingertips slightly teased the sides of her body as he delicately caressed near her breasts. Even after all the sunblock was gone, he continued rubbing her back, and Sango didn't mind one bit.

Rin was currently trying to engage Sess in a game of tic-tac-toe, and failing miserably. Every time she would poke him to let him know it was his turn, he would pull her into a fierce kiss, causing her to temporarily forget about the game. Sess smirked into the kiss as Rin practically went limp in his arms. His tongue traced the inside of her mouth as he held her scantily dressed form. Her hands were resting on his chest, her fingers lightly running over his nipples.

Inu Yasha tried looking everywhere but where his friends were. Finally, he grabbed one of Kagome's legs. When she looked up, he mouthed, "Let's go."

Kagome turned to her side to see her friends in their intimate positions and giggled. She nodded at Inu Yasha and stood up while announcing, "We're going to go get something to drink."

"Have fun." Sango mumbled as Miroku softly kissed her back.

Rin absently waved a hand at them as she kissed her fiance.

As Kagome and Inu Yasha walked off, he grabbed hold of her hand. She hesitated slightly and he said, "Friends aren't allowed to hold hands?"

Kagome sighed slightly. "I… guess I see nothing wrong with it."

He grinned at his soon-to-be girlfriend and they walked towards the drink stand. As they stood in line, Inu Yasha pulled Kagome into a hug and rested his chin on the top of her head. She wrapped her arms around his hard body and sighed happily, telling herself that friends did this, too. Suddenly, Inu Yasha spoke up.

"Who was the guy you were talking to yesterday?"

Kagome felt his grip tighten on her body slightly and she carefully thought over her response before answering. "He's just some hotel employee that we met in the elevator yesterday?"

"Who is `we'?"

"Rin, Sango, and me."

He thought a moment before answering. "Do you like him?" She pulled back and glared at him, so he quickly said, "He seemed to like you pretty damn well!"

Kagome rolled her eyes. "You were stand far away from us, Inu Yasha. You don't even know what he looks like. Besides, don't be an ass. You know I like you."

Inu Yasha growled slightly. "You better love me."

Kagome giggled and kissed his neck. "Of course I love you, you big impatient oaf."

He growled at her and muttered, "Wench."

Kagome rolled her eyes again and placed her head against his chest.

Near lunchtime, the six teens packed up their things to go shower and change before they ate. The girls and guys parted at the elevator, and as the three girls walked to their room, they suddenly found themselves face to face with Hojo.

"Hell again." He said cheerily. Each girl responded with `hi', and Hojo turned to look at Kagome. "I was wondering, Kagome, if you maybe wanted to get a coffee with me sometime."

Kagome's eyes widened. "Uh… well, I-"

"Are you seeing anyone?" He asked curiously.

"Well, not exactly…" Kagome fidgeted slightly, ignoring her watchful friends.

"So what's the problem?" When Kagome began stuttering again, he said, "I'll try to come by tomorrow to set up a date." He smiled at Rin and Sango and gently touched Kagome's shoulder before walking off.

The three girls practically flew into their room and Kagome immediately face planted on her bed. In a muffled voice she said, "No fair, no fair, NO FAIR!"

Sango set her stuff down and said, "Why didn't you just tell him you were seeing someone."

"Because that would have been a lie."

"So?" Rin spoke up as she sat on the bed. "You do know that if Inu Yasha finds out, he's going to kick the crap out of every hotel employee until he's satisfied, right?"

Kagome groaned and rolled off her bed onto the floor. "Stupid Hojo!"

"Why don't you just tell him about this, and ask him not to freak out?" Sang asked her.

Kagome shook her head. "First of all, I don't want Inu Yasha to know. Second of all, if I have to hold his hand every step of the way, then he wouldn't have made any effort, and us getting back together would be a waste. I want him to resist fighting on his own."

Rin and Sango fell into silence and Kagome stood up. "I'm taking a shower." She mumbled as she staggered into the bathroom. Sango looked over at Rin and Rin stood up. "You know what we need to do?"

"Warn Inu Yasha without actually warning him." Sango responded.

"Leave it to me!" Rin said before she ran out of the room. She ran down the hall and began knocking incessantly on her fiance's door. When he finally opened it she pushed her way in and found Inu Yasha sitting in his bed watching the TV. Rin took a deep breath and said, "Inu Yasha… Some things might piss you off, but you need to remember what is on the line before you act out. Fighting won't get you anywhere with Kagome. Think before you speak, got it?" She spoke slowly and deliberately, hoping he'd get it.

Inu Yasha looked at her, confused. "What the hell are you babbling about, Rin?"

She rolled her eyes. "Just remember what I said."

Inu Yasha nodded his head slowly and looked away, having no idea what she was talking about. "I promised Kagome I wouldn't fight, so I won't fight. I have no idea what you're talking about."

Rin shook her head and grabbed Sess' hand, pulling him out into the hall. "What the hell was that about?" He asked her, wrapping his arms around her.

Rin quickly explained and said, "But don't say anything to Yash! Kagome wants his to resist fighting on his own."

Sess nodded before dipping his head down to kiss Rin's lips. His hands grazed over her curvaceous body, smirking when she giggled. When they pulled apart, Rin hugged him tightly and said, "When can we discuss wedding plans?"

Sess shrugged. "I don't know, maybe when we get back."

She pouted. "You don't want to do it now?"

Quickly, he said, "We're distracted here, Rin. Back at home, we can plan all this stuff without distractions."

Rin thought for a moment before kissing the tip of his nose. "Okay, see you at lunch, Sessy!"

He chuckled as she ran down the hall.
