The next day in the Bahamas, Kagome, Rin and Sango went down to breakfast together. They were running slightly late because Sango locked the three of them out of the bathroom, so everyone else was already down in the diner. When they stepped into the elevator, somebody suddenly called out, "Hold the elevator!"

Sango automatically shot her hand out to stop the closing door, and a few seconds later a young hotel employee stepped on with them. "Thanks." He said in a breathless voice. He had dark brown hair and chocolate colored eyes and a nice smile, which they only noticed when he smiled at Kagome. "You three are running late." He said conversationally.

Rin laughed and pointed to Sango. "She got in a fight with a bathroom door. And lost." Sango glared at her and he grinned.

"Yeah, you better watch out for those things. If you aren't looking then they might close on you."

Sango rolled her eyes, grinning. "How do you know we're running late?"

"It's my job to check the hallways for trash and stuff while you guys are at breakfast. If you were on the thirty seventh floor, that means you're part of the high school group, right?" Rin nodded and he stuck his hand out to each of them. "I'm Hojo, by the way."

They each shook his hand while Rin introduced them. "I'm Rin, and this is Sango and Kagome."

He flashed another attractive smile to Kagome and said, "You're awfully quiet. Everything alright?"

She gave a tiny smile and nodded. "I'm fine, thank you."

When they came to the lobby, Hojo made a show of bowing to each of them, causing them to giggle, and he said, "Well, hopefully we'll see each other again." Looking at Kagome he added, "If you need anything, ask for me."

As soon as he was out of earshot, Sango and Rin both grabbed onto Kagome and Rin hissed, "He was flirting with you!"

Kagome shook her head. "He was being nice."

Sango crossed her arms in front of her. "Kagome you dope! He likes you!"

Kagome rolled her eyes. "He works here. He has to be nice."

Rin sighed and crossed her arms in front of her. "You're clueless."

The three of them fell into silence as they walked into the diner and Kagome thought it over. Was he really flirting? I better not let Inu Yasha know! Wait, what am I saying? It… doesn't matter if he finds out. I'm not with him anymore. Kagome inwardly sighed and took her seat between her friends.

After breakfast, Ms. Tsuyu told the seniors that they had the morning to themselves, because that night they were going to go visit other important historical parts of The Bahamas. The six teens decided to go back to the beach, so they each trudged back up to their rooms to change into their swimsuits. The six of them met in the lobby and tried to ignore the tension between Kagome and Inu Yasha.

Down at the beach, the girls decided to suntan again and the guys headed for the water. Rin, Sango, and Kagome set up their things near a large umbrella sticking out of the sand and hurriedly began basking in the sun. Sess and Miroku noticed Inu Yasha's lagging step as they walked to the water, so they suddenly picked him up and ran him to the cold water, dropping him. He came up laughing and growling. "You ass wholes." He said as he wiped the water from his face.

Sess chuckled and Miroku said, "Cheer up, man."

Inu Yasha looked up just in time to see Kagome stand up and resituate her towel. He watched her as she set up her towel exactly as she wanted and then lie back down. He looked over at his brother and friend and said, "I want her back."

The two of them fell into silence. Finally speaking up, Sess cleared his throat and said, "What if she doesn't-"

"And I know she wants me back too." He growled, interrupting him.

Sess sighed and nodded as Miroku said, "Okay man. We'll help you if you need anything."

Inu Yasha nodded gruffly. The three of them walked towards some guys with a football and joined in the game.

An hour of lying in he sun caused Kagome to become rather parched. She had already downed the water that she brought, so she finally got up, told Rin and Sango where she was going, and headed to the drink stand. It was there that she saw for the second time that day, Hojo. He just happened to walk by when she ordered her bottle of water so, with an attractive smile on his face, he walked over to Kagome.

"Hello again." He greeted.

She gave him a small smile back. "Hi."

"No charge." He told the woman at the drink stand. "How are you?" He asked conversationally.

"I'm fine, but I can't ask for this for free." Kagome said hurriedly.

He waved his hand carelessly. "You didn't ask."

She gave another tiny smile. "Thanks."

He grinned at her and they walked away from the hut. "You don't seem well." He told her.
Kagome blushed slightly. "I'm fine."

He gave her a look that said he clearly didn't believe her, but he didn't press it. "So what's on the agenda for you teens today?"

She shrugged. "I don't really know. We're going to go look at other historical points tonight, but I don't know where we're going."

Hojo was about to respond when suddenly his name was called by another employee. "Well I hope you have fun wherever you go." He touched her shoulder gently and said, "See you around, Kagome."

As Hojo ran off, Kagome looked down at her shoulder slowly. She shook her head and turned around to go back to Sango and Rin, but suddenly stopped in her tracks. There, standing just a few feet away, was Inu Yasha. And he didn't look happy. The two of them stared at each other for an entire minute. Excuses, apologies, and explanations running through Kagome's head, while Inu Yasha just watched her. Anger, hurt, confusion, and anger again showed in his eyes.

Finally, Inu Yasha turned around and walked away. Kagome resisted the urge to run after him. You aren't with him anymore, Kagome! Besides, you and Hojo weren't doing anything! She took a deep breath and walked back to her friends. They could tell by looking at her face that something was wrong, and Kagome didn't hesitate to tell them everything.

Inu Yasha muttered every curse word he knew underneath, and even came up with a few new ones. He wanted to bitch slap that guy all over Kagome! But then a part of his enraged mind reminded him that violence was the reason he wasn't with her anymore. Sess and Miroku could immediately tell that something pissed him off, so they ran over to him and asked him what happened. Inu Yasha explained as best he could while staying calm. The two of them pitied Inu Yasha, but didn't say so. The last thing he needed was pity. What he did need was a safe way to vent his anger so he didn't run after Hojo and beat the crap out of him.

Instantly, Miroku turned around and yelled, "Who's up for a game up tackle football?"

Miroku, Inu Yasha, and Sess limped up to their room a few hours later. The girls had already gone up an hour earlier to change. Miroku slowly lifted his arm up to press the elevator button, trying not to whimper. He glared at Inu Yasha who sighed.

"For the last time, I said I was sorry!"

"I was on your team!" Miroku screeched at him.

Inu Yasha carefully crossed his arms in front of him. "Feh." Sess shook his head, wincing slightly.

Their game of tackle football was by far the most painful they had ever played. Inu Yasha's pent up aggression seemed to seep onto the rest of the players on either team, causing everyone to tackle harder and play rougher. At one point, the sun in the sky slightly blinded Inu Yasha, and he tackled the closest thing he could grab on to as hard as he could. Which just happened to be Miroku. When Sess tried to pull Inu Yasha off of him, the three of them were dog piled by all the players. Needless to say, no one came out unharmed.

The three of them each showered and changed, trying as hard as they could to not whimper in an unmanly fashion. When it was time to meet the rest of the seniors and teachers in the lobby, the three of them slowly made their way to the elevators to find the girls. At spotting her fiance, Rin ran down the hall and leapt onto Sess. He nearly bit his lip to keep from calling out as he held onto her.

"Hi Sessy!"

"Hey baby." He said in a strained voice.

Rin stepped back. "What happened?"

He gave her a smile. "Nothing, why do you ask?"

By this time, Sango and Kagome had come over to them. Rin put her hands on her hips and said loudly, "Sessy Bethany Go-Shinboku, tell me what happened to you or I will make you wear a bright pink bonnet for the remainder of this trip!"

He opened his mouth to explain, but the laughter from the others cut him off. Suddenly, it hit him. "Rin, my middle name isn't Bethany."

She tried to control her giggling. "So?"

He shook his head. "Look baby, nothing happened. Just a game of tackle football."

Sango quickly looked over at Miroku. He gave her a sheepish grin and she shook her head. "You idiots."

As the four of them walked over to the elevator, Kagome glanced up at Inu Yasha to see him watching her. She slowly walked over to him and asked quietly, "Are you okay?"

He nodded his head, not taking his eyes off of her.

Kagome looked down and said, "I'm sor-"

He startled her into silence by cupping her cheek gently. "I'm not mad at you, Kagome. I can't be mad at the one that I love."

She looked into his eyes and opened her mouth to say something, anything, when he suddenly leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her lips, ending it before it registered in her mind. After that, he simply walked away, leaving her stunned.

Kagome was in shocked silence for nearly the rest of the day. She had a hell of a lot of thinking to do. Of course she still loved Inu Yasha. It's not like you can forget the one you love as quickly as you can squish a bug. So if she loved him, why wasn't she with him? The question ran through her head all the time, and she answered the same thing every time. Because I can't stand seeing him get hurt.

When the teens arrived back at the hotel, a light rain began to fall. They all walked off the buses and hurried back into the hotel, sheltered from the rain. All except Miroku and Sango, that is. The two of them carefully stayed behind the rest, holding hands. No one noticed them as Miroku hurriedly pulled her away from the hotel towards the beach. Once at the beach, he wrapped his arms around her, bring her close to him for a gentle kiss. Sango slowly brought her arms up around his neck as he deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue across her soft lips.

She pulled back slightly, grinning. "We're going to get in trouble, baby."

He nipped her neck. "Only if they catch us."

Neither made a move to go back to the hotel. Although they both cared for Inu Yasha and Kagome, the tension between the two was becoming unbearable. This little bit of `alone time' was greatly appreciated by both teens.

Miroku ran his hands over her body, gently caressing her backside as he nibbled on her pulse, smirking as she moaned softly. He forcefully pressed her against his growing erection, letting her know how much he wanted her. She wrapped her arms around him tighter.

"I know." She murmured.

He smirked again and sucked on her neck. "I have a condom."

She pulled back and laughed softly. "And where, pray tell, will this happen?"

He chuckled and looked around him. "Anywhere, love! On the sand, in the water, you bent over that picnic table… The possibilities are endless!"

She blushed slightly and laughed. "You're such a pervert."

He grinned and cupped one of her breasts in his hand. "You wouldn't have it any other way."

She giggled and said, "True, but we're not going to do it."

His grin suddenly fell and he practically growled at her. "Why not?"

She laughed at his change in attitude and hugged him as she answered. "Because it's raining and I'm cold."

He smirked and slowly ran one hand up underneath her shirt. "I know the perfect way to warm you up."

She shook her head, laughing again. But when he suddenly tweaked her nipple between two fingers, she moaned again, her body curving into his. Miroku smirked against her neck and began kissing his way back up to her lips. Their tongue's danced around each other's as their hands caressed each other's bodies. Sango bit back another moan as he bucked slightly against her heat. As delicious these feelings were, Sango really was cold. And Miroku was slowly noticing this as her teeth began chattering. Sighing, he pulled back.

"Okay okay, we'll go inside."

She giggled as he wrapped his arms around her as they walked back up to the hotel. "What made you change your mind so quickly?"

He grinned at her. "I don't want you to catch cold. Then I really won't be able to fuck you."

She laughed and pushed him away from her when they reached the elevator. "You make it sound so romantic." She said sarcastically.

He chuckled and pulled her back into a wet embrace. "Would you rather I called it `doing the naughty' like Rin?"

Sango burst into laughter. "Never mind."

The two of them hugged each other tightly as they rode the elevator up to the thirty-seventh floor. Once out of the elevator, Miroku gave her a long and deep parting kiss, grinning when he pulled back to see her dazed look.
