Kagome sat in fear as she waited for Inuyasha and her mother to arrive. “This isn’t natural!” she whispered as she put her face in her hands and sobbed quietly. “Why can’t I remember?”
She thought hard as she sat there, waiting for the light switch to click on, which it never did. “I–I was attacked, but why can’t I remember who did what? Oh, God! Was I–was I raped?” she thought, tears sliding down her cheeks as she fought with herself over what could’ve happened to herself. “Inuyasha will know.”
She rubbed her hands over her face to get rid of the damned tears that were escaping again and again as she tried to stop sobbing uncontrollably. Inuyasha had to be coming, she needed him. She was almost ready to bang her head against the wall to relieve the tension in her mind, though it would probably make more trouble than do any good. The tears fell as she almost screamed.
Inuyasha was standing outside of her room when he heard her crying. She’d been through so much the past few days that he didn’t know what to do to help her. The smell of her tears stung his nose as he walked in. She was a wreck, her hair was a mess and her eyes were puffy. “Ka– Kagome? What’s going on?” he asked as she grabbed him and sobbed into his haori.
“I–I can’t remember anything! I can’t remember how I ended up attacked, or even that I was! All I know is that I was!” she sobbed.
His instincts flared, something was very wrong here, Kagome had never had memory problems before, unless it stemmed from a spell or… potion… ‘I killed him! He didn’t have a partner, at least not with him… that bastard, I want to know what’s going on!’ he said as he stroked her hair. Her tears were soaking into his haori as he rocked with her on his chest. “I’ll figure this out.” He said as he kissed her hair.
“I’m scared Inuyasha, I can’t remember… anything!” she sobbed as he just held her, not knowing of any other way to comfort her.
“I’m sorry this has been going on Kagome, I don’t want this to happen to you.” He said as he tightened his hold on her, “When you calm down I’m going to go try to figure out what’s going on.” He said as he stroked her hair.She eventually cried herself to sleep and he took off, trying to think of anywhere that he could go to find out what had been done to her. “Kaede.” He said as he headed towards the well, leaping in immediately.
He found Kaede picking herbs and humming a soft tune to herself when he yelled for her. She looked up and braced herself as Inuyasha almost couldn’t stop before he reached her. He was having trouble getting his words out. He was ranting something about Kagome’s memory. But she couldn’t make out his words. “Calm down, child, what be yer problem?” she asked as she grabbed the frantic hanyou’s shoulders.
“She’s lost her memory! I went to the family shrine to help her grandfather with some chores… then her mother got a phone call saying she was needed immediately. I rushed over, she was fine this morning! I don’t know what to do! Could someone have drugged her again, could the potion have had a side effect?” he rattled off as he paced back and forth, raking his fingers through his silver hair. “I don’t know what to do.” He repeated as he finally plopped onto the ground.
While Inuyasha was in the feudal area, speaking with Kaede, Kagome’s mother was just leaving the hospital, knowing that her daughter, other than her memory, was in fairly decent health. She figured that Inuyasha would return quickly enough that she could take a breather and get some lunch. Kagome was sleeping peacefully, so she was going to be all right for now.
The fake officers entered her room, quietly slipping in unnoticed. They quickly slapped a hand over her mouth as he gagged the sleeping miko as the tall one picked her up over his shoulder, while the other one seemed to wander outside.
Kagome was still out of it, thinking that maybe Inuyasha would carry her to the feudal era, so she continued to rest her eyes. She only opened her eyes when a hand was slapped across her mouth to keep her from screaming. She blinked a moment in confusion and realized that the tall detective from before was hoisting her over his shoulder once she was gagged and mercilessly bound. ‘Inuyasha! Help me!’ she thought as she had a sinking feeling of being there before.
They carried her almost painstakingly slowly out of the hospital and out to the parking lot. She was screaming through her gag, though, and when they were almost discovered once, they quickly put an end to it by knocking her skull into a wall viciously. She cried out as the pain built inside of her skull and burst into blackness behind her eyes.
