InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Taking Her ❯ Her ( Chapter 1 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

His normal day consisted of running a few miles, leaping from thing to thing, hunting, occasionally protecting himself, and sitting is a tree. Yes, Inu Yasha was a bored hanyou. He had been all over southern Japan. He knew everything better than the back of his hand, not that he looked at those much. Being a hanyou, he was accepted my neither human nor demons. Humans thought he wasn't to be trusted, and demons saw him as week. His mixed blood caused him an outcast. For 200 years he wandered the forests alone, just living day by day.
This particular day was one of those hot slow days. One of those days that just wouldn't go by fast enough. Damn heat made it unbearable and it was only four more hours till dusk.
Stretching, he yawned a jaw-cracking yawn.
A strange scent hit his nose.
Sitting up straight, he sniffed the air. What was that? It was *sniff* 5 men, bandits no doubt, and a…a girl. A wonderful smelling girl; a human girl. A scared human girl.
Jumping from his branch he took off toward the scent. By the smell of the girl she wasn't too far off and terrified.

“HELP!” The woman screamed. “Please let me go, I'll give you anything,” she pleaded. She was kneeling on the ground, tied to a low branch of a small tree, forcing her arms to stay above her head. She could feel her arms start to cramp. The ropes tied around her wrists were cutting off her circulation. Her black hair was done up nicely, but looked to have been worn out. There were pieces of it that fell down, making her look like a mess. Her white noblewoman kimono was now stained earthy tones in different places.
Even though she looked like a mess, the brown eyes girl still looked amazing.
One of the five bandits walked up to her and smiled. “If I were you princess I would keep my mouth shut.” He kneeled down to her. “We wouldn't want to have to punish such a beauty now would we men”
They other men chuckled in response.
The man took out his knife and held it to her throat loosely. He had no intent of hurting the girl, just scaring her a bit.
Silent tears fell from the girl's eyes. Why was she going threw this? Oh yeah that's right, she's-
“Iron Reaver soul stealer” A mysterious (yeah right) voice was heard from behind the group. They all turned to see a large amount of trees falling toward them. By time the trees fell it was too late, they were trapped, except for the young girl. While the men were trying to escape the strange man grabbed the young girl and ran for it. He held her close to him as he jumped from tree to tree. She held onto his kimono for dear life.
Landing next to a river, Inu Yasha made his way to a pile of large rocks. Sitting on the tallest one, he was able to see out over the tops of the trees. He would be able to see or hear an enemy coming from here, just like all the times before. Looking down at the shaking bundle he just saved, he tried to get a good look at her. She seemed cold and hungry. Her wrists were bruised and bleeding slightly.
Kagome held on to the boy, even though she knew he stopped. Where she was from most people hated demons, but not only did she not see things that way, but somebody that saved her was worth trusting. Finally getting the courage to look upon her savior, she pulled away from his chest. Looking straight up she was met with beautiful golden eyes. She gasped.
Inu Yasha looked down at her. She was gorgeous. Her wonderful smell didn't do her justice. Her skin was pale and perfect; her hair glowed, while her eyes hid a fire behind them. Looking at her out fit he figured she was from a rich family. A large clump of hair fell in her face, blocking the beauty. Moving his hand toward her cheek, he brushed it away, not aware that he was smiling in the process. He did notice, however, that the girl did not flinch away.
Kagome just starred. His long silver hair swayed slightly in the wind, while he held her tightly to his chest. She just stared in his eyes, loosing herself. They were gorgeous. She had never seen eyes that color, or as soft.
She felt a chunk of her hair fall from her not so pretty hair due that took an hour to do. Before she was able to move it out of her way he had his hand there. Gently brushing over her skin in the process, he moved the hair out of her face. He smiled. Oh how did she love his smile! It had cockiness to it, but was filled with love. He was so gentle; she had no doubt that he would never hurt her.
Looking up once again she saw them, the cute doggy ears on his head.
Inu Yasha watched as she slowly reached up toward his ears, not looking away from them. It was almost as if they had her memorized. Inu Yasha smiled. His ears interested her. Right before she reached them Inu Yasha made one of his ears twitch. She jumped slightly while pulling aback a few inches. Her face went from that trance look to surprise to determination, she was gonna touch them. How dare they mock her.
Her fingers finally found their way to his soft fuzzy ears. Her fingers rubbed them gently, causing Inu Yasha to close his eyes. It felt so good. He had never had anybody do that before. He leaned toward her, giving her more access. She was more than happy to rub his ears for a little longer.
After so long her fingers started to hurt. Pulling away from them she heard him wine in dismay. She smiled.
“My-my hands hurt” she whispered.
When that honeyed voice hit his ears his eyes shot opened. He couldn't believe how perfect this girl was. It was too good to be true, and she wasn't afraid of him. Something wasn't right, there had to be something wrong. Things like this don't happen to hanyou's like him.
A growling sound shook him from his thoughts. He looked down at her stomach. It sounded like she hadn't eaten in days. He looked up at her. “How long has it been since you've eaten?”
Kagome wanted to just close her eyes and listen to him talk. Just the sound of his voice it soothed her; so masculine yet gently. The perfect way to describe him. “Since I was taken” she looked down, almost ashamed.
Inu Yasha moved his hand to her chin. He pulled up on hr chin, making her look at him. “How long ago was that” he asked worriedly. His hand moved to her cheek.
She closed her eyes and nuzzled into his hand. “The day before yesterday” she whispered. The pain in her stomach no longer excited at that moment for her. For some reason, he made everything disappear. His touch alone made her feel like she could fly.
Inu Yasha's mouth opened slightly in shock. It's almost been three days since she's eaten? Standing up, her sill in his arms, he jumped off the rock. He didn't feel her grab onto his kimono. He looked down to make sure she was ok, but what he saw amazed him. She was looked at the scenery smiling. She closed her eyes, feeling the wind on her face. There wasn't a tense muscle in her body.
Stopping a little further down the river, he made his way inside a small cave. It was big enough for a person to stand and a good eight yards deep. Towards the back of the cave was a bed made of random blankets and animal skins. Walking over to it, he gently placed her on it. He turned to stand up, but was stopped by two hand grasped to his kimono. He turned back to her, worried. Was something wrong?
Kagome had been stuck in a castle her entire life. She never traveled, never met anybody new, unless it was some guy her father chose for a possible suitor. Which it really wouldn't matter if she met him or not, because she had no say. Her father had the say in it. So here she was, far from her cage, with a guy that filled her with feelings that she never thought were real. There was no way she was going to loose it now.
“Don't leave” she begged. Her eyes slightly watery.
Inu Yasha just stared at her, wasn't she hungry? He touched her hand, only to find is shake. At first he thought that she was afraid or cold, but it was due to malnourishment. She needed food. He leaned in close to her face. “I gonna go get some food. Stay here, it won't take long.” He felt kagome's grip loosen. Standing, he walked from the cave. At the entrance he stopped and turned to face her. “Don't go anywhere; I don't want to go looking for you. I don't like to worry”
Laying back, kagome looked up at the ceiling of the cave. She smiled to herself. She read this kind of thing in books before, but never thought it could be real. She had never met somebody like him. With him gone the cave felt cold, but she knew he would return, which made it bearable.
Grabbing a blanket from under her she covered herself, only to fall asleep, dreaming of a certain boy; of who he could be, and a life they could lead together. She knew it was a bit sudden, but her heart yearned for him. It was only a fantasy after all; she was a princess, only aloud to marry the person her father chose for her. There was no room for love in her life, no matter how wonderful it felt.

Inu Yasha ran threw the forest at breakneck speed. He knew that there was a village near here, and they were quite wealthy in fact. The best part of it was that an old lady by the name of Kiade lived there, and she was ok with demons. The villagers knew of this of course, but didn't say anything. She was the village priestess after all, and healed illnesses. They had no room to speak.
His thoughts kept going back to a certain girl, and the way her lips moved when she spoke. How her eyes glistened with fire, yet yearned for protection. He could smell her innocence. It called to him. She was amazing, and all his. He didn't even think about that fact that she may have family somewhere, or that she would return. He was planning on keeping her.
Jumping off of a high branch he sore over the treetops. It wasn't too far away now, less than half a mile.
Landing on the outskirts of the village, he made his way round toward Kiade's hut, hiding in the trees. The sun had just begun to set, so it was easier to go by unnoticed, but there was still a possibility.
Finding the hut, he looked around to see who was near. Kiade liked to be secluded from the village a little. She liked to be closer to the forest, she thought it quieter.
“Kiade” Inu Yasha called, as he made his way threw the door.
Kiade has started her dinner for the evening. She was stirring what appeared to be a soup while throwing in a few vegetables here and there. “It's been a few weeks Inu Yasha, what can I do for ye?” she looked up at the hanyou.
“I…found somebody…a girl.” Inu Yasha bit his lip. He didn't want the old hag to figure out what was really going on. She was too good at that.
The old hag raised her eyebrow. “You found a human girl Inu Yasha?” she studies the uncomfortable hanyou. “Those are very common around here” She heard the hanyou growl. Laughing to herself, she moved toward the back of her hut. “I will give ye what ye need Inu Yasha, and prepare a nice dinner for the both of ye.” She started digging threw a bow of wraps she had in the corner. She knew that Inu Yasha didn't want to be seen as a hero, or somebody that seemed nice. He would never freely admit that he save a young woman and attempted to help her in anyway. Kiade just smiled. He'll never change.
