"They're going to destroy everything out there," Sango said, rubbing her temples in a circular motion.
<P>
"Drink this child," Kaede gave the soup/tea mixture to Kagome, who drank it reluctantly.
<P>
"It tastes horrible," she winced.
<P>
"Yes but it will stop most of the pain," the old miko stated. "It is the same herb used to get rid of the poison," she finished as something struck the wall, followed by the sounds of Miroku and Shippou's screams. Kagome's head began to steadily throb in pain.
<P>
"SIT!" she yelled. A thump was heard and than quiet, which only lasted a few minuets.
<P>
"Bitch,"
<P>
"Sit," she retaliated, the argument war had begun.
<P>
<I>Thump</i>
<P>
"Wench," Kagome didn't appreciate that either.
<P>
"Sit,"
<P>
Thump
<P>
"Damn it! Will you stop doing that!" he yelled to the door.
<P>
"Will you stop calling me that?" She had enough with the emotional and physical strain on her body. Kagome wrapped herself in the sheet and stoo
d up to go to the door. She was surprised that her legs didn't hurt her that much.
<P>
"Call you what, a bitch?" he asked as Kagome walked out of the room with a sheet tightly wrapped around her.
<P>
"You're looking well Kagome-sama," Mirkou said, placing a cold rag over his right eye.
<P>
"You don't learn do you, monk?!" Inuyasha yelled, but was stopped in his tracks by one word.
<P>
<I>Thump</i>
<P>
"Bitch," he repeated.
<P>
"Thank you Kagome-sama," Mirkou said. Kagome gave him an icy cold glare that could freeze even the deepest fire pits of hell.
<P>
"Shut up hentai," Sango was quick to tell him. "You're going to get yours when she's done with Inuyasha," she smirked. The monk paled, wishing he not said anything in the first place.
<P>
"Excuse me," she said getting the attention of everyone. "I need to speak with a certain hanyou," she said lacing each word with enough venom to make even Inuyasha wince. She put one hand on her hip and the other holding up the sheet. "Now!" he couldn't understand what was making her so angry. Was it the conversation they had earlier?
<P>
"What's the matter?" he asked confused/angry/annoyed when they were in the room.
<P>
"What's the matter?! What the hell do you think is the matter?! I was raped, abused, and turned into a damn scratching post!" she yelled furiously, taking all her anger and fustration out on him.
<P>
"Than why blame me!" he yelled back. As he heard what he said, he almost wished he didn't, for he blamed himself for what happened to her.
<P>
"You keep calling me a bitch," she sighed.
<P>
"But you are a bitch?" he asked confused. Kagome refrained from 'sitting' him fifty times, and fifty times over. She had to explain it to him.
<P>
"It's insulting," she said sadly and sat on the bed.
<P>
"I've always called you that, it never bothered you before?" he sat across from her completely confused.
<P>
"Do you know what a 'bitch' is referred to in my time?" she asked knowing he wouldn't know the answer.
<P>
"A female," he said bluntly.
<P>
"In my time the word is almost taken to literally. Calling someone a bitch is like almost calling someone a whore, and I don't want to think about that after…" a betraying tear fell down her cheek.
<P>
"Ok, Kagome," he smiled trying to make her feel better. "As long as you don't say the <I>'s'</I> word."
<P>
"Is that all you have to say!?" she yelled.
<P>
"Yea?" Inuyasha had a habit of saying wrong thing at the worst time. She couldn't stand it.
<P>
"SIT!!" she yelled out of anger, though it wasn't the best thing to do at that moment. Inuyasha's head landed on her stomach. It hurt but that was the least of her worries then, if someone was to walk in… she didn't want to finish the thought.
<P>
"Inuyasha, GET OFF!" she yelled. Yet he didn't move, he couldn't. His muffled laughing could be felt on her stomach.
<P>
"You're the one who said it," his breath hot on her stomach through the sheet. "I didn't even call you a bitch," he smirked.
<P>
"If anyone sees you in that position they'd get the wrong-" that's when Miroku of all people decided to check on Kagome and Inuyasha.
<P>
"My apologies, it appears like I've chosen a wrong time to come in," he laughed. Kagome turned a few shades of red.
<P>
"It's not what you think," oh boy this one was going to be hard. She kicked the hanyou off her not realizing the spell should have worn out a little while ago.
<P>
"I may be wrong, but I don't think Kagome-sama is in any condition for you to do that, Inuyasha," he didn't even try to hide his very amused and lecherous smile.
<P>
"Hey! It's not my fault, she's the one who sat me," he defended himself.
<P>
"Really," the lecher said with his grin not faltering. "Because from where I am one would say otherwise," he was loving it. 'Payback is always a bitch', he thought.
<P>
"Monk," Inuyasha said warningly. However Mirkou was having way too much fun to stop laughing.
<P>
"You should see you face, Inuyasha, you're blushing," he laughed.
<P>
"Shut up hentai ," Kagome yelled at him. She would give anything to hit him, but that would give him another reason to justify what he thought he just saw.
<P>
"You must have a death wish," Inuyasha said and started walking over where the monk was standing, stopping midway.
<P>
"Oh no," Kagome whispered, she felt the same thing Inuyasha did.
<P>
"Inuyasha?" asked the monk as he saw Kagome and Inuyasha's faces.
<P>
"He's here," Kagome said as Inuyasha left the hut.
<P>
"Who?" the monk asked, not wanting to be who he thought it was, however it was wishful thinking.
<P>
"The snake youkai," she said her face clear.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"You will not get Kagome!" Sango yelled to the youkia, against Mirkou's protesting looks.
<P>
"I do not wisssh to fight you," the snake told her. "But I will if I musst. I came here ssimply to take the miko," he said emotionless.
<P>
"There's no way you're getting Kagome," she told him. "I will make you pay for what you have done to her." With an eternal emotionless mask, the snake youkia went after her. Sango tried to doge, but Yuko was too fast. She received a wound from her navel up around to between her shoulder blades.
<P>
"Sango!" Mirkou called out and ran to catch her before she fell. That's when Inuyasha chose to go after the youkia. Yuko dogged the hanyou easily, and went to the hut where Kagome was standing. She held the sheet tightly as the youkia came closer.
<P>
"STOP!" Shippou yelled as loud as anyone could have thought possible. Everyone just stopped and looked at the kitsune.
<P>
"Shippou-chan!?" Yuko's face finaly flashed with an emotion as he looked closer at the kit. "It isss you!" he made his way over to where he was. Shippou started crying, his companions looking at him in confusion. "What'sss the matter Shippou-chan?" he asked with an almost kind and friendly voice, as if coming out of a fog of his own despair. He picked the crying kit up gently Inuyasha tensed, but did nothing.
<P>
"Why," Shippou said in barely a whisper. "You promised you wouldn't hurt anyone that I loved." his tears not showing any sign of stopping. "You promised, but you hurt Okaasan." Yuko gave him a questioning look.
<P>
"You mean that miko?" he asked the kit, bringing him up to eye level.
<P>
"Okaasan's going to die, and it's all your fault!" he yelled accusingly.
<P>
"Shippou-chan, I'm sssorry I didn't know," the snake youkia held him close to his chest. Kagome looked in horror. How could her son be hugging a monster like that? Emotions of all sorts flooded her mind.
<P>
"Shippou-chan?" she broke the silence. "What are you doing?" she couldn't understand for the life of her why he would do something like that.
<P>
"Brat, you have a lot of explaining to do!" The hanyou was the second to talk. Inuyasha was shaking, he could barely refrain himself from turning the snake into small strips.
<P>
"Who paid you," Shippou asked as his sobbing slowed. He ignored everyone else for the time being.
<P>
"Shippou-chan?" Kagome felt betrayed by her son. Time was at a stand still.
<P>
"The one called Naraku," Yuko started. "He gave me a shard of the shekon no tama in exchange for the miko'sss death. Gomen, but you know what I have done, I cannot undo," he dropped his head. "I've done it once and only once," Yuko said.
<P>
"I know, but we could use the other way," Shippou told him.
<P>
"I will not ssstop you. Though you do know the consequencesss? She may become a youkia her ssself, and the affectsss are irreverssible. She isss a miko." snake youkia put Shippou back on the grown. He ignored everyone but Shippou.
<P>
"I know, but I was thinking we could use hanyou blood so it wouldn't interfere much with her miko blood," Shippou told him. Kagome felt as if she was going to pass out, the stress was too much for her. Yuko sighed, for the second time in his life he felt regret for what he did. He loved the kitsune as if he were his own son.
<P>
"That sssoundss good Shippou-chan," he said with a sad smile and put his hand on the kit's head. Kagome winced, his expression so much from the night before that she was even more afraid of him. The youkia glanced to where she was, and Inuyasha couldn't take it any longer. Just him looking at Kagome made the hanyou's blood boil. In a second, a very large sword was between Yuko's cat-like eyes. It took everything in Inuyasha's power not to cut the youkia in half. He needed answers.
<P>
"If you don't start talking, I might think about killing you painlessly," the hanyou beard his fangs in a dangerous manner.
<P>
"Inuyasha," Shippou said quietly from behind Yuko. Inuyasha gave the kit a blank look.
<P>
"Shippou," he said very confused and angry.
<P>
"Please don't kill him," he said.
<P>
"WHAT!?! You know what he did to Kagome, and you still want him to live?!" the hanyou yelled in disbelief, unknowingly moving the sword away from the youkia's face. Yuko took advantage of the situation and moved away from Inuyasha.
<P>
"I will be leaving you now. Take care Shippou-chan," the youkia finished and left as fast as he could the same way he came. Inuyasha went to stop him, but Shippou yelled to him.
<P>
"Inuyasha!" he yelled.
<P>
"SHIPPOU!!!!" the very, very angry hanyou picked the chilled up by his tall. "What the hell are you thinking!?" he asked dangerously.
<P>
"Shippou?" Kagome whispered softly. The two looked in the direction of the small voice.
<P>
"Okaasan, Inuyasha," he looked at them painfully. "I'm sorry, but…" he sobbed, ignoring Inuyasha's death grip on him. "…I think I'm ready to tell everyone my secret now."
<P>
"It's about god damn fucking time!" said the hanyou and dropped him. "Now start talking." Shippou nodded.
<P>
"Yes, but I'll wait for Mirkou and Sango," he said. "They have a right to know, especially Mirkou."
<P>
"Oh, no Sango," said Kagome, remembering her friend's injury.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"Sango!" she heard Mirkou yell as she fell to the grown. She was loosing blood and looking around nervously. Already she was sitting in a pool of her own blood. She was afraid, afraid of dieing alone. Than two hands grab he face before she went in shock, and she was looking into violet eyes.
<P>
"Sango," Mirkou repeated. She barely heard him, but continued looking at those pained black orbs. When Mirkou got a response, he picked her up cautious of her deep wound. Blood was already starting to seep through his robes. He had to stop the bleading, he thought, she was loosing too much in too little time.
<P>
"Damn," he muttered and took Kagome's first aid kit from her bag. As Mirkou approached the springs he held her in a sitting position. Her mind started wondering off again.
<P>
"Sango," he said, voice filled with emotion. "Look at me!" He touched her face again, and once more she stared into his beautiful eyes.
<P>
"Mirkou," she whispered with a smile.
<P>
"Sango, I'll have to take your top off," he told her. "I have to take care of you. You're loosing a lot a blood," he said worriedly. She barely heard what he said and nodded. All she wanted was for him to gat rid of the pain. He quickly slid her kimono down to her waist. The wound, surprisingly, wasn't as deep as he first thought it was. He washed the blood off her easily with warm water. The blood had slowed and was no longer gushing out.
<P>
"Nothing has been harmed internally," he said thankfully as he wrapped her in the bandages her took from Kagome's bag. After what seemed like hours, he was finished. He was now looking at a half nude/bandaged/dizzy/tired, but alive, Sango. He sighed in relief.
<P>
"You are defiantly the most luckiest woman alive," Mirkou said with a smile.
<P>
"Thank you," she smiled weakly, and collapsed into his chest. He put his arms around her neck, cautious of her wound.
<P>
"You are most welcome," he told her.
<P>
"Don't get too free with your hands," she teased.
<P>
"Yes my dear," he smiled and rested his chin on her head. They both ignored the dried blood on the grown that they were sitting in. They also ignored the blood that made their clothes stick to them. The time also went unnoticed as Kagome came up from behind them.
<P>
"Sango, Mirkou," the small voice said. Mirkou turned slightly, and Sango was drifting to sleep.
<P>
"Hello Kagome-sama," he said still only moving his head, as the girl slowly moved to face the couple.
<P>
"I got some clothes for Sango. Well actually, Inuyasha got it," she said with a faint smile. Mirkou raised an eyebrow.
<P>
"Inuyasha, getting clothes," he mused. "By himself?"
<P>
"Yea, he got beautiful kimono's for me and Sango," she said holding it up for him to see. Kagome couldn't help but smile, she saw him cuddling her for some time though she didn't dare interfere. Despite the situation, she thought the two were great together.
<P>
"Yes, Kagome-sama, it looks very good. Though I would expect Inuyasha to be the very last person to get something like that for you when you are in the condition that you are in," he finished.
<P>
"You don't approve?" she smirked and asked with fake confusion.
<P>
"You are a very clever woman, Kagome-sama. I very do much approve," he said still cradling the sleeping girl in his arms, Kagome smiled.
<P>
"Why don't leave so she can get dressed in peace," she smirked, and he nodded reluctantly and woke her up.
<P>
"Sango," he whispered in her ear. "Sango wake up." She groaned and took in her surroundings and remembered when she felt a sharp pain coming from her stomach and back area. Mirkou helped her to her feet.
<P>
"Hello Sango," Kagome said with a smile. "Here are some clothes for you to ware." Sango looked at it.
<P>
"Thanks Kagome," she said, and took the kimono. Sango smiled back at her friend.
<P>
"Now if you will excuse us," Kagome said sharply looking at the monk too. "I think you should go further down over there and get cleaned up as well," she told him. "Shippou-chan is going to tell us something important, and he believes you should be there," Kagome said thoughtfully.
<P>
"All right, thank you again Kagome-sama," he said and walked away to another part of the spring as Sango changed.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"I want to apologize to you Sango. I shouldn't have let you get hurt by that monster," Kagome said on their way to the hut. "Then you wouldn't have gotten hurt."
<P>
"Kagome, if I didn't try to stop him, he would have gotten you," she reasoned with her friend. Her grip on Kagome's shoulder tightened as she fought to stand up.
<P>
"No, he tried to get me even after he attacked you. Though Shippou-chan stopped him by just telling him to," Kagome was still confused and hurt by the little kitsune's actions.
<P>
"Shippou?! How?!" the exterminator asked surprised, ignoring, to the best of her abilities, the pain.
<P>
"I don't know, but he also asked Inuyasha not to kill the youkia," she informed her.
<P>
"And Inuyasha agreed?" Sango asked fuming.
<P>
"I don't think he was, but Yuko got away. Then Shippou-chan said he was going to tell us his 'story'. He wanted every one there," she tried to explain.
<P>
"Inuyasha must have been pissed," Sango said thoughtfully.
<P>
"Yea, so then he ran. When he came back he had these beautiful kimonos," she said.
<P>
"What, Inuyasha got these?!" Sango asked surprised. She didn't think he could get anything so beautiful.
<P>
"Yep," Kagome nodded as they approached the hut.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"God damn snake," Inuyasha cursed under his breath as he ran to a village. He needed to get clothes for Kagome. The problem was that he really didn't know what to get her, and there wasn't many villages that didn't know who he was.
<P>
"Damn," he complained again. He stopped at a village that he didn't recognize. It looked 'richer' than their village. This is as good as any other place to look, he thought to himself. He walked to the nearest stand he saw selling kimonos. He crossed his arms, and prepared himself.
<P>
"I need one of those," Inuyasha said rudely, pointing to beautiful silk blue and silver kimono. The sales men just looked at him fearlessly.
<P>
"You have to pay for that, youkai," he spat. Inuyasha just smirked and ignored his comment.
<P>
"Feh, I'll take that one too," he continued and pointed to another beautiful silk kimono. It was forest green with black embroidery.
<P>
"Did you not hear what I just said? You must pay for them, youkai," the man said.
<P>
"Feh," he replied again and took the two kimonos from where they were.
<P>
"You can not steal that!" Inuyasha's smirk diminished.
<P>
"Who ever said I was going to steal them!? Just because I'm a youkai, you assume I steal?" he snapped. He sighed and threw a few gold coins at the sales men. He ran as fast as he could to the hut.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"Inuyasha," Shippou said in a attempt to make the hanyou feel better... Inuyasha glared coldly at the kitsune, Shippou sat back down and wished the flour would open up and swallow him whole. Inuyasha continued his course and entered the hut.
<P>
"Inuyasha…" Kagome drifted off when she saw what he was holding. "Those are beautiful," she gasped. He held up the two kimonos, and she took them. "You got these?" she asked.
<P>
"Feh, of course I got them," he said insulted and folded his arms.
<P>
"And you paid for it," she asked hesitantly.
<P>
"Just because I'm part youkai doesn't mean I'm a thief," he said hoping Kagome wouldn't ask where he got the money.
<P>
"I never said you stole it," she said in her defense and folded her arms across her chest in the same manner as Inuyasha. That action caused the sheet to drop a few inches. She either ignored it or didn't realize it, Inuyasha turned away. "Inuyasha," she changed her tone. "Can I give this one to Sango," she asked and held up the green kimono.
<P>
"There're yours, you can do what you want with 'em," he huffed and walk out of the hut.
<P>
"Fine," she mumbled and started to get changed.
<P>
xXx
<P>
"Now get talking brat," the pissed off hanyou told Shippou.
<P>
"I'm going to tell every one not just you," Shippou told him.
<P>
"My patience is really wearing thin with you," Inuyasha said frustrated.
<P>
"Inuyasha," Shippou said hesitantly.
<P>
"What?"
<P>
"You won't hate me if I tell you right?" he asked hopefully. Inuyasha was dumbfounded; he didn't know what to say. Was Shippou's past really that bad that Inuyasha would hate him?
<P>
"What the hell are you talking about?" he asked confused.
<P>
"Please just promise me that you wont hate me," he whispered not taking his eyes from the grown.
<P>
"…Sure brat," Inuyasha said and folded his arms across his chest.
<P>
"I just hope Okaasan won't hate me, I know that Miroku might," he said.
<P>
"She won't," was all the hanyou said.
<P>
"Inuyasha," two female voices said from behind them. He turned to see two limping figures he would have laughed if it weren't for the situation.
<P>
"Where's Miroku?" he ask in is usual gruff tone as they sat down out of breath.
<P>
"He's washing up," Sango told him. Inuyasha's eye twitched at the announcement in frustration at another delay.
<P>
"So now we have to wait for him," he said.
<P>
"That's right," Kagome nodded, pretending to be oblivious to the hanyou's annoyance. "In the mean time, I'll make something to eat," she started to get up.
<P>
"No," Inuyasha stopped her. "You will stay here and Kaede-baba already made something," he told her calmly.
<P>
"But-"
<P>
"No, you walked around enough today as it is. You will stay here and rest," his voice void of any emotion.
<P>
"Fine," Kagome huffed, "Only until Shippou-chan's done," and crossed her arms in an Inuyasha-like fashion.
<P>
"What?!" he turned to look at her.
<P>
"Why do you think I was running off to the well last night? You think I ran off screaming 'come rape me'!?" she yelled at him sarcastically.
<P>
"You're not going through the well until the poison is out of you," yelled in a tone to match hers.
<P>
"I have two weeks until I graduate. Nothing, I repeat, nothing is going to stop me," the tone, if at all, got higher. Shippou and Sango quickly move away from the two.
<P>
"What's going on?" a male voice said from behind the kit.
<P>
"Hush up," Sango told him.
<P>
"Oh I see, they're at it again," Miroku shook his head.
<P>
"You are not going," the hanyou repeated.
<P>
"The Hell I'm not!" she continued standing on weak legs. Inuyasha also stood up so he wasn't looking up to her. "The three years I spent going through the well with school and tests was because this, because of me graduating. Not even this damn poison, and certainly not you is going to stop me," she took a breath. "Inuyasha, even before I fell into the well, I promised myself that I would finish school and graduate. I intend to keep that promise. I know I sound selfish, but I need to do this for myself," her voice got surprisingly low. "I'm not going to waste away what I've done on the past three years." Inuyasha just looked at her in surprise. Truth be told, he was hurt. Did she not know what she'd done in the passed three years? How many lives she helped, how many she saved? She didn't know how many hearts she'd healed, his included? She was now the most powerful miko alive. Inuyasha didn't dare voice his option though; instead he just put his emotionless mask on.
<P>
"And if something happens with the poison?" he asked wanting to bring up the subject he was just thinking about. "Those people wouldn't know what to do with you," he said oddly emotionless.
<P>
"Then come with me," she said bluntly, that made his impassive mask fall.
<P>
"What!?"
<P>
"Uh, um," Kagome nodded. "We'll leave before sunset, since tonight's … that time,"
<P>
"YOU want ME to go with you to your time?!" he asked. Kagome nodded again and resisted the urge to jump up and down saying she won.
<P>
"Or you can stay here and worry like the over protective hanyou you are," she mocked, smiling.
<P>
"Feh, fine," he huffed.
<P>
"That's great," she squealed. She could really change moods if she wanted, Inuyasha thought. "And when I'm finished there, as long as I want to and not go back for school or tests. I can stay until we're finished here." The hanyou looked at her sharply.
<P>
"That settles it then," he said as they both sat down. He didn't know whether to be happy or upset at her saying 'until we're done'. "Now," he said when he finally noticed they had an audience. He turned to the small kitsune. "Start talking." His mind was in major turmoil, little did he know that Shippou's past would make it worse. He let out a small sigh that went unnoticed.
