"Kaasan?" the kitsune finally woke up.
"Shippou-chan," Kagome smiled. He sat up and looked at her.
"You look … beautiful," he told her.
"Thanks, she smiled warmly.
"You look just like Inuyasha," he laughed, Kagome's smile widened. "Where is dog boy anyway," he asked looking around. He noticed that they were up in a tree.
"Inuyasha is gone," she said looking away from the kit.
"What?!" he asked surprised. "What do you mean, he's gone?! He just left?!"
"I told him to leave," she continued to look past him.
"Why," he asked her confused.
"He needed to find himself," she told him. "He needs to find his place in life."
"But he already has a place, with us."
"I know Shippou-chan," she looked at him and smiled. "We just have to hope he finds that out soon."
"Kagome-sama?" Mirkou said below them.
"Yes?"
"Sorry to interrupt you, but I believe we should leave. I feel a great evil in the air," he told her.
"Right, let's go," she said and with the kit in her arms, she jumped down from the tree.
"Shippou!" Vilna cried and knocked him to the ground, hugging him. "Are you alright? I'm sorry I had to leave you!"
"Hi, yes I'm fine and is alright. If you didn't keep going we both would still be there," he smiled.
"I'm glad," she smiled back at him and let him go. "Hey, aren't you going to introduce me?" she asked him as an after thought. True, she had been traveling with them for about two days, but she didn't really know who they were. All but Kagome anyway.
"Oh yea," he looked at her questionably. "This is Kagome-sama," he pointed to his adopted mother walking behind him.
"I know who she is, but she looks a lot different than you described. You said she was a human."
"I was," Kagome smiled.
"Oh," the young kit figured she didn't want to get in to it.
"This is Sango and Kirara," he said pointing to the two. Sango looked at her and smiled.
"And," he looked back at her. "This is Miroku," Shippou pointed at him, Vilna just stopped.
"This is Miroku?" she asked. "You said you knew him, but I didn't know that you were traveling with him!"
"Hello?" the monk said confused.
"Though he doesn't look anything like…" she started to say but Shippou gave her a cold stare that could freeze fire. "… Like you said he looked," she smiled sheepishly. The monk looked at her suspiciously, then nodded.
"Well then, shall we get going?" he said. "We should try to avoid as much trouble as possible."
"Right," Kagome said again, looking at the horizon.
"What direction will we go in?" Sango asked.
"North," Kagome said not looking at anyone.
"But Kagome-sama?" Miroku started. That was inu-youkai territory. There might be jewel shards, but they should stay clear of that area for now. That's what he thought at least.
"We will go north, and find any of the shards along the way," she finished. The monk reluctantly nodded. 'Soon, Inuyasha, you will find your place,' she thought and picked up her staff and bag. Kagome took one last look behind her. She had nothing left for her there; she had only to go forward.

"Rin!" the Inu-youkai lord yelled as a giant came to her. Sesshoumaru cut one of the youkai's legs off and grabbed the human girl in one fast movement.
"Stay here," he yelled to her, she nodded. The snake reattached it's lost limb.
"Lord Sesshormaru!" said the toad servant. "It has begun to reattach it self again." He hid behind a tree.
"Damn," he said. If only he could find the shard. He'd been fighting the oversized spider youkai for hours now, and it's been wearing him down, both physically and mentally. His arm could barely hold his sword, a huge gash ran across his chest, and blood poured down his face. He could only see through one eye, and most of his long beautiful silver hair was stained with blood. And because of the long battle, his body couldn't heal properly. He briefly thought about how they got into that mess.
-xXx
"Sesshomaru-sama!" laughed the fourteen year old Rin as she ran to him. She was so beautiful he thought.
"Yes Rin?" he asked, oh how much the pathetic human girl had changed him over the years.
"Here," she handed him purple, blue, and red flowers.
"This is for me?" he asked emotionlessly, she nodded.
"I thank you--" he started to say. "Look out," he yelled. He dropped the flowers and grabbed her before a giant claw came crashing down. Sesshoumaru set her aside and drew his sword.
"Stay out of this Inu-youkia," said the spider youkai, smirking. "I am under strict orders to kill the human girl who is with the Inu-youkai lord, Sesshoumaru."
"You will die before you can touch her." The youkai smirked.
"We shall see."
-xXx
Sesshoumaru went to attack the youkai, however he laughed and stabbed him in the back.
"I've had more enough fun with you," it smirked.
"Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin yelled.
"Rin," he gasped as he coughed out blood. "Stay where you are," he demanded and weakly stood up.
"You still want to fight," the spider laughed. "You are pathetic."
"And you are a coward," the Inu-youkai spat. "Using that jewel, if you did not have it I would have I defeated you long ago." He drew up his sword again. Just as he was about to strike, a glowing arrow shot threw one of the youkai’s legs, making it fall.
"What the hell-" it turned to see where it came from, as did the Inu-youkai lord. His vision almost completely gone.
"Little brother?" he said his senses were swarming. It smelt like his brother, but there was something different. Though, he didn't have time to contemplate it. He passed out into a deep slumber.
"Miroku," Kagome yelled holding an arrow and pointing it at the youkai’s chest. "Take Rin and get out of here. Sango, you and Kirara take Sesshoumaru," she finished and shot the arrow, hitting the spider head on. Half of its body disintegrated.
"What the hell are you?! A miko or a youkai?!" Kagome smirked, but didn't answer. She took her new claws and dug into the youkai's heart taking the jewel shard out. The spider turned to ash and blew away in the wind.
"Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin yelled as the fire cat set him down.
"He must've been fighting for hours," the monk said kneeling down to see if the inu-youkai was still alive. "He's barely alive," he told them, shocked.
"Kagome?" Sango said looking at her. "Why did you help him any way?" she asked confused.
"I really don't know. I just felt this need to help him," she looked from Sesshoumaru to Sango. "It's strange, I never really liked Sesshoumaru before, but just now I felt strange emotion like pain and anger," Kagome was confused.
"I must be Inuyasha's blood in you," said Shippou coming out into the open with Vilna. "His blood must not want Sesshoumaru to die," he told them thoughtfully.
"Kagome-sama?" said Rin behind her.
"Yes," the miko turned to look at her.
"You are Kagome-sama," she said excitedly. "Can you use your healing powers to heal Sesshoumaru-sama?" she asked and Kagome smiled and nodded.
"Yes, but they will only closes the wounds. He must still rest for a while," she said. The miko knelt down and put her hands over his chest. Sesshoumaru felt a warm energy fill his body. He opened his eyes to a female image of his hanyou half brother. The smell was similar, but different at the same time.
"Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin yelled and he was forced to open his eyes and sit up. He looked around to see Rin and his brothers companions.
"You shouldn't get up," Kagome said and started to stand up, her face an emotionless mask
"What the hell are you?" he asked looking at her suspiciously.
"I have your brothers blood running through my veins," she told him as a simple explanation, showing no emotion at all.
"Sesshoumaru-sama," Rin said. "You mustn't get up."
"I am fine," he said annoyed with himself and stood after much effort to look at Kagome. "I do not understand why you look and smell as my brother, but I am in debt to you miko," he said. Kagome respectfully nodded, with both there emotionless masked plastered to their faces.
"Right," she turned to leave, her companions following.
"Rin, Jaken," he turned with his bloodied robes and hair clinging to him like glue. "We're leaving."
-xXx
"Well Naraku," the wind youkai smirked. "It looks like your plan for destroying the miko has backfired, again."
"Quiet!" the evil youkai yelled in frustration, then he thought. "I want you to go to the miko and see how strong she has become," he smirked.
"Yes Naraku," said Kagura through gritted teeth, turning sharply on her heel and walking away.
“Oh, and Kagura,” he called after her. She stopped, hatred seeping through her beautiful black eyes. "Don't get yourself killed. It would be most inconvenient," Naraku laughed.
"Yes, Naraku," she clenched her fists and walked out of the room.
"I will get my soul back and you will die Naraku." She walked out of the castle to find the infamous miko.
-xXx
He knew she was close, he could feel it. The appearance of the soul catchers only confirmed it. Kikyou was coming to him. Inuyasha just stayed in one place as the undead miko walked up to him. Her pale emotionless face complimented her blood red outfit.
"Hello Inuyasha," she said, her impassive mask not faltering.
"Kikyou," Inuyasha's emotions cut through him as sharp as a dull knife.
"Have you decided?" asked the miko. "For you have obviously been waiting for me."
"Kikyou," he paused, attempting to find his bearings one last time. "This has to stop." She stared at him with her blank smile plastered to her face.
"Is that so Inuyasha," she mocked.
"You should be dead," he said, his pride all but lost. Kikyou sneered at the pathetic sight. "Although you shouldn't have died in the first place," he looked at the ground. "You shouldn't have been brought back either."
"What are you going to do Inuyasha? Destroy me like you did before?" she replied in a voice laced with venom.
"Kikyou," he looked at her sharply. His eyes were like mirrors, reflecting all he felt. The cold hearted women didn't flinch. "I did not, nor will I ever kill you and you know it."
"Yes, and I will use that to my advantage," she told him. "After Naraku has been defeated, I will drag you to Hell myself."
"No, Kikyou," he said gathering all his emotional strength and looked at her. His golden eyes looked as if they were bottomless orbs. "I have chosen, I will not let you drag me to Hell. Although I will not kill you, I will find a way for you to rest in peace." Anger now overtook her unemotional façade.
"What," she yelled. "You will pick that worthless pathetic reincarnation over me!"
"Kikyou," he continued to gaze at her. "Y-you are dead, and there is nothing anyone can do about it," he said sadly. She was full of rage.
"Inuyasha," she yelled and a small ball of energy formed in her hand. "I will kill you and your bitch," she threw the ball of energy. It hit him in the stomach, and he doubled over in pain as she left with her soul catchers. All Inuyasha could feel and smell was the burning of his own flesh, then the darkness took him.

"Sesshormaru-sama?" said Rin with her back to the youkai lord while he cleaned himself. While he wasn’t happy with the situation, it was the safest solution.
"What is it Rin?" he said in a rougher tone than he wanted. Rin, however, didn't even flinch. She had gotten used to his ways.
"I-I'm sorry," she said. He stopped to look at her.
"For what?"
"If I wasn't with you, you wouldn't have gotten hurt," she told him and dropped her head in shame. He moved behind her as she sat on the bank.
"It was Naraku," he told her.
"Sesshormaru-sama?" she said again. He glanced at the back of her head, forgetting that he was without clothing and very vulnerable. "I'm going to leave," she choked back tears.
"What?!" his cold façade faltered. She started to stand, but he quickly latched onto her wrist. She traveled with him for a long time, and he'd be damned would he let her go now..
"I make you weak." He couldn't argue with that. She looked at the clawed hand around her wrist. Her eyes made their way up his arm, then to his beautiful chest. 'All those scars' she thought, 'are because of me.' She knew that they would heal within the hour, but that was besides the point. Finally, she found his eyes.
"You will not go," he told her simply, still not releasing her. She saw a glimmer in his eyes, though she didn't know what it was. Could it be desperation?
"Naraku sees me as your weakness," she said nearly in tears. Sesshoumaru didn't like that at all. Rarely did Rin ever cry, even when they were in danger. She was like him; she kept her deeper emotions locked away. Then again, they both changed each other over the years. "I'm leaving because I don't want you to get hurt anymore." She put her hand over the one that was still desperately wrapped around her wrist. Sesshoumaru made an attempt to flinch away, but stopped him self as he saw tears trickling from her eyes. That's when he realized that she didn't want to leave as much as he didn't want her to go. "Sesshormaru-sama, I-"
"No, you will not leave!" he yelled, though his tone was desperate. He mentally kicked himself for acting so damn weak.
"But I-" she stopped as he drew his face closer to her. Their noses were almost touching.
"You will not leave me, not now," she felt his hot breath sweep over her lips, "not ever." She was dying to see if those lips were as soft as they looked. As he looked in her eyes, only inches from her face, he was thinking. Why did he even care if she left him any way? She was just a mere human female.
'A human female you can't bear to part from,' said a voice in his head. He was shocked, where the hell did that come from!? As he was having a mental battle with him self, his mask slipped. Rin had a death grip around his hand. Now Sesshoumaru was very vulnerable, he was without clothing, literally in the hands of a human girl, and he had no emotional boundaries. Meanwhile, Rin was still thinking about those magnificent, beautiful lips, until she couldn't take it any longer. With one quick motion, she closed the gap between them. Their lips met for the briefest of seconds. He threw his head back as if he had been burned, though he was still close enough that he could still feel her breathing.
"I … I," she paused, "I'm sor-" she was cut off. Sesshormaru's mouth came crashing down, almost painfully, on her lips. He parted them with is tongue, with intentions of exploring every part of mouth. Instinctively, she did the same. If either of them could form a coherent thought, they would realize what they were doing. They would also realize the toad servant coming from behind them.
"Sesshormaru-sama?!" said the annoyed and confused voice of Jaken. They opened their eyes, blood rushed to her face as she scooted away and stood up, not breaking eye contact with the inu-youkai.
"S-sorry," she said flustered and ran a little way into the forest. After watching her leave, Sesshoumaru glared at his servant. Not knowing who to be angry with, with Rin for kissing him in the first place, with him self for acting sickeningly weak, or with his servant for interrupting. He was confused, and Sesshoumaru, the great inu-youkai lord, did NOT like being flustered.
"What is it Jaken!?" he was beyond irritated. Jaken took his chance asking his master.
"May I ask what you were doing with the human girl?" he asked.
"You may," he finished getting dressed. "Though, the consequences will be great," he cracked his knuckles to emphasis his meaning.
"Aye, mi' lord," the toad servant said fearfully. "I was only curious," he tried to explain.
"If you value you life, don't be," Sesshoumaru threatened.
"Mi' lord," the toad nodded.
"Now leave," Sesshoumaru closed his eyes.
"Mi' lord," he repeated and ran for his life as a scream was heard, then a pale blue light. Sesshormaru's blood became ice in his veins.
