Chapter Ten

He saw them both. Their bows pointed and aiming for each other's heart. They were both the same, yet so very different. He cared deeply for them both. Inuyasha glanced from one women to the other, the only difference was their eyes. One pair deadly and filled with hatred, while the other so alive and forgiving. He heard the war screams then realized what was happening.
"NO!" he yelled, but it wasn't heard. He ran as fast as he could to get between the two. The arrows flew, but missed their intended target, the hanyou got in the way. He was engulfed in a mass of purple and white light.

Inuyasha's eyes flew open and he sat up, drenched in his own cold sweat.
"I seems that you are awake," a female voice said.
"What" he said, trying to get his bearings. The pain in his stomach rudely reminded him of his injuries.
"You mustn't sit up, Inuyasha," a familiar, almost forgoten, voice spoke softly. He turned, attempting to see who had spoken. He was shocked, then unnecessary anger boiled in him.
"You!" he yelled and tried to stand up, but the pain stopped any thoughts of that.
"It's nice to see you again little brother," the female inu-youkai said. She had long white hair, and purple marks on her face and her eyes were a crimson red. She wore robes of royalty of white and gold. Her arms were folded across her chest and she had a smirk of amusement on her face. "And welcome home."
"Kameko, I'm going to kill you," he teasingly threatened.
"Now, that's know way to talk to the queen of your people," she said and walked over to him. She took a cloth and let it rest on his forehead.
"You enjoy mocking me," said Inuyasha. "You know I don't have any 'people'."
"If that's what you believe, then so be it," she told him sadly. Kameko knew how much her brother hated this kingdom.
"What the hell am I doing here?" he asked.
"I should ask you the same question," she sat in a chair next to him. "I was looking in on my daughter's studies, and the nest thing I knew a solder came up to me claming that he saw Lord Inuyasha lying in the forest," she told him and smirked. "May I ask what you were doing in these lands? Last I recall, you vowed never to set foot here again."
"That's none of your god damn business!" he yelled, feeling the throbbing of a headache forming.
"Very well," she smiled, mentally thanking her father for having a female as his first child. Both of his sons were idiots and destroy the land, one way or the other, she thought.
"I hate you," he said again half heartedly.
"If you say so," she continued smiling, She'd always liked her younger brother more. Considering she was best friends with his mother. When she died, Kameko practically raised him.
"You're so irritating," he closed his eyes and briefly thought that if all women are suppose to be like that.
"Lady Kameko," said a voice from the doorway.
"Yes, Misato?" she didn't even turn to look at her servant.
"I apologize, but you daughter has skipped her studies again."
"Thank you," she sighed and stud up. "Kari, she reminds me of someone else I know," she looked at Inuyasha and smiled.
"Keh."
"Inuyasha, go back to sleep while I get your niece," she finished and left the room, leaving her brother to his own problems.

"Everyone, stay alert," Kagome told her companions. "Someone's coming," she brought up her staff, purple light forming at the top of it. Everyone else prepared themselves as wind blew from the sky.
"Hello miko," the wind youkai said annoyed.
"What do you want, Kagura?" Kagome asked still griping her staff.
"I must admit, the new look really makes you look angelic," she said. "I'm almost jealous."
"If that's all you cam to say, then leave," the miko said, Kagura shrugged.
"Regretfully, no. I was sent to test how strong you have become," she smirked.
"All right then," Kagome smirked as well. "We shall show Naraku just how strong I am."
"I swear," the wind youkai muttered. "He is truly an idiot."
"I couldn't agree with you more," Kagome drew up her staff as energy possessed it and Kagura drew her wind fans. Kagome dogged the wind blades. She didn't have enough time, however, as the wind youkai’s foot connected with her jaw. Kagome blocked another kick with her arm and quickly hit Kagura in the back with her elbow. The wind youkai fell to the ground but was quickly up before Kagome could attack again. The miko radiated power from her staff and threw an energy ball at Kagura. She dodged, but wasn't fast enough, she was hit in the shoulder. By the time she recovered, the miko sent another energy wave to her. It hit the youkai in the knee and she collapsed to the ground. Kagome stopped her attacks.
"I see," Kagura smirked. Naraku was going to have hell with the miko. "You're as strong as the inu-hanyou," Kagome smirked, knowing that what the wind youkai was going to tell her master. Both her and Kagura knew that she was a lot stronger than that.
"If that's what you say, then I can't stop you."
"Miko," Kagura said standing up. "I know that you are powerful, but alone it won't be enough to defeat Naraku."
"I realize that," Kagome said with little emotion..
"Therefore, in battle, I will assist you in any way I can," Kagura said.
"Naraku will die, and you will get your soul," Kagome told the wind youkai.
"You have my thanks," Kagura nodded, and let the wind take her on her feather.

Rin yelled, as a large and rather nasty looking wolf approached her. She was paralyzed with fear, there was very few things that Rin was afraid of, one of them being wolf youkai. As it came closer, she thought of her village, all the people dead. She thought about her own death by the wolves. She couldn't even close her eyes.
She yelled again, and instinctively put her hands up as protection. Just as she did, blue light came from her hands and blasted a whole right through its chest.
"You little bitch," the wolf gasped and coughed up blood. "You're going to pay for that," it started after the human girl. Rin could only watch with fear filled eyes. She didn't even try to attempted to think about what she just did. Right before the clawed hand touched her head, the youkai was cut in half. The sky was raining blood, everything was covered. Rin opened her eyes when all she felt was hot silky liquid streaming down her face.
"Sesshormaru-sama!" Rin cried and ran up to the Inu-youkai. She clenched him for dear life and buried her face in his chest.
"Rin," he put his hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?" he asked, not even attempting to put his emotionless mask on. Rin looked up into his eyes.
"I was so scared," she sobbed, again, she was crying. "Blue light … and …" she staggered.
"Quiet," he said, and against his better judgment, he picked her up. As he walked over to the pool of water, he now felt strange power with in her. Then he realized it, and things started to make more sense to him. Sesshoumaru set her down next to the water, where she was sitting only minutes ago.
"Rin, let go. It will be alright," he told her, completely out of character. She nodded against his chest and let him go. Blood began to dry on her face. It looked as if she was crying blood, Sesshoumaru thought grimly. He took the cloth he was just using, and soaked it in the water to wipe the youkai blood off her face.
"Sesshormaru-sama!?" Rin said confused, while he gently wiped her face.
"Quiet," he said emotionlessly. He knew what he was doing, but he didn't know why. Here she was, lying on the ground, inches away and very venerable. His eyes never left her while he was cleaning the blood off. She shuttered as the cloth very slowly grazed her neck. His hand went under he kimono to clean her shoulder, even though there was no blood. Rin was confused, why was he doing that? Did he even know what he was doing? Why was she letting him?
"Sesshormaru-sama?" she said again, but not as she intended to. He stopped though his hand never left its position. They just stared at each other. There was something about her voice, about the way she looked at him, the way she smelled. Then it hit him, he wanted her. Wanted her more then he wanted any thing before. Even though he knew what he wanted, he just couldn't understand it. Before he could rationalize with him self, he kissed her so passionately that he didn't know that he could. He let his emotions go, everything he kept locked away from the world, and himself. He put all that into that one kiss. What a wonderful gift, Rin thought.
His hand moved from its current position to tug her kimono down somewhat, while she combed his hair with her fingers. He finally moved his lips from her mouth, and made his way to her throat. His fangs grazed her skin ever so slightly, and he was reworded with a sharp gasp. He could feel her heart beat faster with every movement he made. Rin was breathless, and confused. She didn’t know what he was doing, but she knew she liked it. She let her instincts take over when she felt him slide her kimono down to her waist. She could fell slight vibrating on her throat. If she could form a coherent thought, she would almost swear he was purring.
Growing inpatient, Sesshormaru pulled the rest of her cloths fallowed by his own. He kissed her lips again hard and almost painfully. Before he prepared to take her, his mouth made its way back to her neck. In one quick motion, he clamped his fang in her neck. Rin was surprised that he bit her, but then he look his fangs out and licked where the teeth marks were. Then it no longer hurt, and he kissed her again. Finally, he took her as he slowly made his way inward.
At first, she felt vast amounts of pain. He stopped and waited for it to subside, then went in her deeper. Before slowly pulling out, she gasped and went in a little faster and harder. She complimented every movement he made. His thrusts became even harder and faster as her moans became louder. Instinctively, she knew it was coming. They both let out a sharp breath as their release came, and collapsed on each other. She could feel his hot breath on her neck as they regained a constant breathing pace. He removed himself from her; he took his robes and wrapped it around them both, while he watched her fall asleep.

"I don't want to practice my writing," Kari whined to her mother while walking through the halls.
"I know you don't," Kameko looked at her daughter.
"I want to go out side and see other's my own age," she pouted.
"You know you can't," the queen said sadly.
"I know," she dropped her head to look at her feet, scuffing them along the floor. "I hate being a hanyou."
"Don't say that," he mother scolded. "There's nothing wrong with being a hanyou."
"I know but-"
"Kari, I have someone I want you to meet," Kameko said happily. "He's a hanyou too."
"Really?" she asked.
"Really," she smiled. "He's your half uncle."
"I didn't know you had a brother?" she followed her mother.
"I have two," she told her. "But I haven't seen them in a very long time." She finished sadly.
"Okaasan?" Kari looked at her mother.
"We're here," as she stopped at the door and opened it. Inuyasha was looking at the ceiling before he turned to look at the two, sitting up.
"This is your daughter, Kameko?" said Inuyasha in disbelief. She wore the same kind of robes as her mother. Though they were smaller and were obviously made to fit her liking. The sleeves looked as if they were torn off and she wore silver armbands around her wrists. Her hair was white, silver, and cut in small spikes. Her ears were pointed at the sides of her head, and her eyes were crimson with a tint of brown. One would say that she was much more beautiful than her mother.
"Kari," she glanced at her daughter. "Meet you uncle, Inuyasha."
"Hello," she walked over to her newly known uncle with her arms crossed against her chest in a defensive posture. "Okaasan says that you're a hanyou too," she blurted out. Inuyasha looked in surprise, he didn't even notice. Maybe because it was the ears, most hanyou's, if any, had ears like him.
"A hanyou," Inuyasha smirked and looked at his half sister. "It must run in the family." He said. "Next thing you know, Sesshomaru will mate the human girl he's with," he laughed, as did his sister.
"Who's Sesshomaru?" Kari asked, not appreciating being left out of the conversation.
"He's your other cold hearted basted of an uncle," Inuyasha said with distaste.
"Inuyasha," Kameko scolded. "Don't say words like that in front of Kari!"
"Okaasan!" Kari said in annoyance with her arms folded. Inuyasha could've laughed at the sight. Her attitude was a lot like his own.
"Kari," Inuyasha looked at his niece. "How old are you?"
"I'm sixteen," she stuck her nose in the air. Inuyasha smirked.
"See Kameko," he looked at his sister. "She's old enough to hear 'the bad words'," Inuyasha mocked. Kari laughed.
"That's not funny, Inuyasha," Kameko folded her arms.
"Well, it seems your daughter thinks it is," Inuyasha smile, the first smile in a while.
"Come on Kari, let's leave you uncle to rest," Kameko said, glaring at her brother.
"I'm fine now," he stood up and stretched. "I'm need to be going anyway."
"What!?". She wasn't going to let him leave, not now at least.
"I should get going," he told her while combing his hair with his fingers.
"No, your not," she told him. "Not until you have something to eat and tell me about your journey." Inuyasha was about to protest, but his stomach told him otherwise.
"Alright you win," he told her. Kameko released the breath she didn't know she was holding. Kari smiled, she wanted to learn more about her half uncle.
"Good, the food should be ready now," she said and they all left the room.

"I apologize, Kagome-sama," Miroku attempting to make a fire in the damp cave.
"It's alright Miroku," she said unwrapping her sleeping bag. "It's not your fault the villagers don't care for inu-youkai."
"Still, it was rude," Sango said.
"Yeah, we should teach them a lesson," said the female kit.
"Don't blame them, Yuna-chan. We are close to Inu-youkai territory," Kagome explained sadly and stood up when her bead was ready.
"Okaasan?" Shippou asked and started to get up.
"Go to bed, Shippou-chan," Kagome said and walked over to the opening of the cave. She sat and watched the rain fall. Shippou began to walk after her, but Miroku stopped him.
"I believe that is a good idea," Mirkou said. “We should all get some sleep,” giving the kit a meaningful glance.
"Alright," he walked over to Kagome's sleeping bag with Yuna following. He spared one last look at her, they curled up in a ball with Yuna next to him, before drifting to sleep. The humans did the same, worrying for their friend, before falling asleep.
She didn't know how long she'd been looking at the rain fall. Watching as it quietly tapped the ground, almost tauntingly. When she turned around, she saw Shippou and Yuna curled up on her sleeping bag. Apparently, the two humans had moved in the night. Kagome laughed at the sight, Sango's head was on his chest and Miroku’s arm wrapped around her shoulders. They all looked so peaceful, with not a care in the world. In reality, however, they all had their own troubles. That no one but them selves could phantom, including herself. She looked back at the rain, then she realized they weren't very different from the rain. It didn't matter if they were human, youkai, or even both. The rain was equally beautiful and ugly. It was quiet and loud at the same time. The rain could show its emotions, yet hide so much…
"Maybe I'm more tired then I thought," she said to her self. She put her back to the wall and watched the rain fall throughout the night.

"So," Kameko staring at her brother in surprise. "You're telling me that this Naraku, tried to force you and your love to betray each other." Inuyasha nodded while shoving food in his mouth like there was no tomorrow. "He killed her and in the last moment, she pinned you to a tree because you were taking the Shikon no Tama?" she paused to look at him and he nodded again. "Now your love's reincarnation falls threw a well which makes her travel five hundred years into the past to this time. She then sets you free after fifty years of being pinned to the tree?" she still looked at her brother.
"That's right, then the wench broke the jewel into hundreds of pieces," he said not looking at her, Kameko smiled.
"And then you fell in love with her," it was her turn to shove food in her mouth. Inuyasha almost choked on his food and glared at his half sister.
"If you ask me, it seems a little far fetched," Kari said nonchalantly.
"No one did ask you," Kameko scolded her daughter.
"I was just saying," she shoved food in her mouth, Kameko ignored her.
"Inuyasha," she looked at him and waited for him to look up. "You said that you wish to fight this Naraku?" she asked the hanyou. "As does Sesshomaru?"
"That's right," Inuyasha looked at her questionably.
"Then that settles it," she said and put her napkin to her mouth.
"What?" both him and Kari asked.
"When the time comes, me and my forces will accompany you in the fight. From what you have told me, Naraku doesn't fight by himself," she told him.
"No, you will n-" he was cut off.
"Quiet," Inuyasha obeyed. "I will not have both of my brothers fight that evil youkai and get hurt, perhaps even die, with out my help," she said In a tone that would not accept any arguments.
"But-" he didn't care of coarse.
"I will send someone with you an your journey and when the time comes to fight him, they will return to tell me," she continued as if not being interrupted at all.
"I want to go," Kari finally spoke up.
"You will not," Kameko said sternly. Inuyasha looked at her curiously.
"Can you fight?" he asked her seriously, Kari's face lit up.
"Inuyasha!" Kameko hissed.
"Of coarse I can," she said ignoring her mother.
"Kameko," Inuyasha glanced at his sister. "Pending on how well she can fare against me, she can come," he told her.
"No," she said.
"If she can so well against me, then she will have no problem with other youkai," he argued.
"Yes, but they're more willing to rip her head off," she said doing her best to win the argument, Inuyasha smirked.
"If you keep treating her like a pup, she will rule like one," Inuyasha continued to smirk, he knew that would make him win. Kameko's mouth opened in a very un-lady like fashion, before closing it.
"Fine, you win," she said. "But only if she does well in a fight against you."
"Thank you okassan," Kari resisted the urge to jump up and down and hug them both.
"Only if you do well," Inuyasha smirked.
"Oh, I will," she said with a smirk to mirror his own.
"Right," Kameko had her eyes closed in frustration. "But now we will finish our meal," she finished and shoved cold food in her mouth.
