Chapter 2
Inu-yasha was jumping from tree to tree, holding Kagome's dead body in his arms. He had no time to waste, it was now or never. His grip tightened over her petite form, he would never let go, he couldn't, not now not ever. Especially now that he had discovered that she loved him and when he was so close to claiming her has his forever.
“Inu-yasha?” the calling of his name was faint in the distance but Inu-yasha heard it. He knew who it was but didn't care to let the undead priestess speak. All he wanted was to get the most important person back, that's all he wanted. “Inu-yasha!” it was a yell this time, an angry yell and before he knew it two arrows where shot from a distance.
He growled angrily taking Kagome's cold dead body close to his as he just barely dodge the first one. But the second arrow got the better of him.
It went threw his kimono and pinned him to a tree along with three other arrows that where shot after that. He growled angrily at the dead woman before him, his eyes flashing from the perfect amber that where like a sunsets golden warmth to the red that asked for blood and flesh.
“Kikyo!” he snarled, his eyes fixing on hers as she bent down to pick Kagome up. “Don't you dare touch her or I will rip your head off and not give a damned shit about it!”
“You know there was a time when you said that to anyone who dared touch me,” Kikyo's voice was of depression. “What ever happened to that hanyou I loved?” Kikyo questioned but then her eyes grew cold as she looked at her reincarnation's dead body and she smirked slightly. “It was her wasn't it?”
Inu-yasha growled as he saw Kikyo take Kagome's hair and lift her up, only to throw her to the ground like some piece of trash. “I warned you Kikyo,” he barely whispered as his inner demon called out to him. His eyes began to bleed red not even daring to flash back to the amber Kikyo once knew.
“Does she mean that much too you over me?!” Kikyo yelled at him as she grabbed onto the demon Inu-yasha had turned into. “Then fuck you,” she whispered knowing that Inu-yasha would kill her any second. “I damn you both to hell, you and your fucking slut of a bitch.”
Inu-yasha's demon growled at her and broke threw the arrows that had once pinned him to the tree. “You where already damned to hell,” he whispered to her, not taking his eyes off of her. “The day you thought I betrayed you was the day you where damned to hell.”
Kikyo looked at him sadly; she knew this was going to happen it was only a matter of time. She had always asked her self the question of what would have happened is she had never came back to life. It wasn't like she ever wanted to come back. She would have rather stayed dead.
She saw him start running towards her with the speed that only a demon could have. She smiled slightly as she opened her arms awaiting for his claws to dig into her chest but they didn't. She looked up to see the fuming half-demon above her. He looked down at her, his eyes still shinning blood red and he just stood there. It was like he was having a battle with himself on whether to kill her or not. His eyes faded into amber and his claws shortened, the purple marks that had appeared where now gone and she was looking into the face of a pissed off half-demon.
“Don't bother me Kikyo, I have much better things to do then hang around you,” Inu-yasha stated not even looking at her as he went to Kagome's side, picked her up and ran off leaving Kikyo in her anger and turmoil.
Inu-yasha kept going, threw night and day he ran, not eating, sleeping or drinking. He had to get Kagome to Sesshomaru's. It was then that he picked up Sesshomaru's scent. Inu-yasha guessed he had left his castle in the western lands.
Sadly though once he followed the scent he found nothing but the pathetic toad that followed Sesshomaru around like a lost puppy, Jaken. “Damn,” Inu-yasha muttered to himself as he sat himself down narrowing his eyes at Jaken before looking at his love.
“What are you doing here you pathetic half-breed?!” Jaken yelled as he ran too Inu-yasha in a rather huff but Inu-yasha wasn't paying attention.
His thoughts were on Kagome and the memories he held with both of them. He remembered the first time she had ever cried for, the first New moon they had both experienced together. The first kiss they ever shared during the whole thing with the castle beyond the looking glass. His memories took him to when he vowed never to leave Kagome's side. He smiled slightly with a sad look in his eyes but soon was brought out of his memories by an annoying voice trying to catch his attention.
“I asked you a question you pathetic excuse for a demon!” Jaken stated but he had made a bad choice.
Inu-yasha growled low as he swung his arm, catching Jaken and holding him by the throat. “I am in a very pissed off mood, I suggest you leave your questions till later when I'm in a better mood” he said low and dangerously. “Now I have a question for you.”
“What is it?” Jaken asked terrified completely as he coward beneath Inu-yasha.
“Where is that bastard brother of mine?”
“Back at the castle. . .”
“Take me there.” Inu-yasha said simply as he let Jaken go. Jaken began to look at him and then deciding it wasn't a good idea to piss Inu-yasha off even more began to lead Inu-yasha to Sesshomaru.
Inu-yasha gathered Kagome up and walked behind the toad. He had noticed that when Kagome died everything was different about her. Her body was pail and some what cold, her face had lost its joy and all that was left was the look of pain on her face. His heart sank at the sight of his beloved like this. It was the worst sight he had seen and it made tears form in his eyes but he took a deep breath and kept walking. There was no way this toad was going to see him cry, the only person who was aloud to see that was Kagome.
Jaken didn't even bother looking back to see if Inu-yasha was following all he needed was the kick that sent him flying forward to know what Inu-yasha was there. Soon though he realized that the kicking had stopped and looked back to see the half-breed was gone. He then looked forward and saw Inu-yasha running to the doors of the castle that was just seen threw the brush.
"Now just wait right there!" It was too late Inu-yasha had already entered the castle and was on his way threw it searching for Sesshomaru.
“Sesshomaru get your ass down here!”
“Brother, you have no need to yell when I am standing before you,” Sesshomaru replied back looking at his brother with cold demanding eyes. “Now why have you come in search of me?” He seemed bored with the idea of his brother having come to see him but Inu-yasha didn't care.
“I need your help,” Inu-yasha said low and quietly, knowing that Sesshomaru could hear him.
“Why me?” Sesshomaru asked.
“You are the only demon I know that's alive that has the power to bring the dead back to life.” Inu-yasha said laying Kagome in front of him. “Please bring her back,” he choked out barely. It was almost like his tongue didn't want to move, and his voice seemed to have escaped from him.
“You know that bringing her back is wasting my time along with yours unless,” Sesshomaru's eyes gleamed for the first time, “there is a price you are willing to pay.”
“I would pay anything for her.” Inu-yasha said looking at Sesshomaru with confident eyes. “I would do anything for her,” he growled.
