Character ProfileS/Personalities

Sango-Is a no-nonsense business woman, as a Talent Agent in Hollywood CA. She is shrewd and intelligent but very reserved. The majority of her adult life has been spent raising her younger brother Kohaku after their parents died in a tragic accident. This left little time for her to be young, have fun or find time for men. Now she faces the possibility of losing the brother she has raised and loves as a son from cancer. She will do anything she can to save his life.

Miroku-Is the heir to the Hidinni riches and curse that follows the family. He has made his own name as a powerful producer of movies and music in the business. He can be a cold hearted businessman by day and a perfect gentleman by night…at all times he is cool, calm and in control. His fondness for women sometimes tempts him into trading “favors” for parts in movies and has given him the rep of a playboy. The time of the curse is upon him and he strikes a bargain with the unapproachable Sango Totosai that will benefit them both.

Kagome-Is a young and fresh eyed up and coming actress. Befriended by Sango, in the often uncaring city that is Hollywood, she became her loyal friend. Fame has roughed her edges a little as she quickly had to learn the rules of the business. Beautiful she is the woman of men's fantasies…one man in particular Inuyasha Tessaiga. While she may want him she refuses to be another notch on his arrogant belt.

Inuyasha-Also comes from a wealthy powerful family. Ignored by his family he and Miroku grow up as best friends. Through his own efforts he has risen to the top ranks and is now the leading male actor in Hollywood. He is egotistical, brass, arrogant and sought after by women around the world. Used to getting what he wants when he wants it, nothing much keeps his attention…until he meets Kagome Higurashi.

Terms of Engagment- Chap 1-The Players

Scene1-Sango Totosai-Monday

Sango, sat reading the casting call one more time. Trista sat across from her waiting, but Sango continued to frown. Shit, this part was perfect for Trista, but it was being produced by him. Miroku Hidinni. He was one of the top producers in the movie business. She'd heard he had his hand in a lot of other pots too…that was the problem. He routinely picked out the cast to the movies he was producing, foregoing a casting director. This apparently worked seeing as how his movies were some of the best. But it was rumored that a lot of his female actresses had to go the extra mile…to get the part. She'd sent men to him before and some of them had gotten the part but sending Trista…she didn't know.

“Come on Sango, you called me in today so what do you have? Is it a big part or a small one?” Sango sighed, she could hear the excitement in Trista's voice. She looked over at the young girl. She was 22 fresh and really pretty. She had a buxom figure and a face to dye for. Just the type the script called for…but also the type that Miroku would probably go for.

“Well Trista there is a part…main part that I think would be perfect for you…but”

“But what? Come on, I need the work.” Trista almost bounced out her chair.

“Well it's produced by Hidinni-“

“What! Oh wow, I love his stuff, if I could get a part in one of his it could launch my career, you've got to send me to read.” Sango furrowed her brows, it seemed like she had no choice. Plus Trista was right, this could start her career and Sango thought Trista would be prefect for it.

“Okay, fine…I'll get you an appointment. Might be today or tomorrow. I hear this is the only position left to fill and that it has to be done by Thursday. Something about a promotion party this weekend that the whole cast will be at it. But I have to warn you. I've heard he sometimes tries to tempt women into doing him favors for the part.” Trista looked at her clulessly and Sango blew out a breath of frustration.

“Sexual favors just in case I wasn't clear.”

”Oh…really? Well I think he's a great producer I doubt if he'd have to reduce to that.”

”Fine, whatever I just wanted you to know. Go ahead get out of here, my secretary should be calling you before the day is out, so keep your cell on.”

“Thank you so much Sango you're the best Agent ever.” Trista said and bounced happily out the door. Sango just shook her head and picked up the phone.

“Margo, get Hidinni productions on the phone. Have them set up an reading for Trista for the part of “Jessabelle”. Sango hung up and leaned back in her chair
closing her eyes.

The door was closed so she took a minute to herself. She really should have been at the hospital with Kohaku.
After all it had just been Friday that that doctor had given her the bad news. The bastard, she could still remember his cold eyes.

(flashback)

“But doctor Sesshoumaru are you telling me there's nothing else we can try.”

“That's exactly what I'm telling you. If your bother doesn't get an intensive two month chemotherapy treatment then he will most likely die.” Doctor Daran Sesshumaru delivered the news blandly. Not bothering to soften it up. It was imperative that Ms. Totosai understand the predicament her brother was in.

“I see, well how much are we talking about here? I do have some savings…” Sango trailed off, clutching her hands in front of her.

“Approximately 200,000 thousand dollars Ms. Totosai.” He watched as her mouth dropped open in shock.

“What! I don't have that kind of money. Isn't there some other way.”

“As I just told you, no there is no other way. This is the best chance to save your brother. The cancer will spread quickly but if we get it now in its early stage, there is a good chance we can wipe it out totally. You can speak to the hospital finance department they may have some sort of payment plan. Now if you'll excuse me I must go. I have other patients that may want to live.” With that he turned from her and made his way down the stark white halls. She watched the arrogant and cold doctor walk away and cursed him.

(End Flashback)

She had gone and talked to the hospitals finance director and they told her she would have to pay 50,000 before the start and another 50,000 at the end of the first month. Then the same for the second month of treatment. She had savings but not fifty thousand just laying around. Because she lived in an apartment and had no collateral like a house no bank would loan her that type of money. She didn't know what she would do. But Dr. Sesshumaru had warned her that treatment should start by the end of the month. That meant she had less then two weeks to get the money from somewhere.

“Lord help me. I don't want to lose my little brother.”

Scene 2- Miroku Hidinni-Tuesday

Miroku sat in his office furious. Though no one could tell by his expression since a light smile played at his lips. He had just hung up the phone after talking to his father. The old man had been riding him about his “duty” to the family. Miroku had hung up on him…he was sure he would pay for it later. No one treated Naraku Hidinni bad and didn't pay for it. If that hadn't been enough to make him mad then the fact that he still hadn't found an actress for the part of “Jessabelle” topped it off. He had interviewed two candidates this morning and both had been totally wrong for the part. Miroku didn't accept less then perfect…that's what made his movies such block busters.

He ran a hand over his head of black hair and sighed. He picked up the next info sheet and read it, it was time to get down to business. He saw the stats and frowned. This actresses was very new to the business and had only played bit parts. He doubted she would be able to even handle such a lead role as this. He started to cancel the appointment…why waste time, until he looked at the top and noticed what agent she had been sent from.

“Sango Totosai.” He rubbed his chin and tried to get a picture in his head but drew a blank. He did remember however that he had used several of this Agents actor's in his pervious movies, and they had been perfect for their parts. “Fine I'll give this chick a shot.” He picked up the phone and told his secretary to send the candidate in. Miroku couldn't help suck in a breath as the actress walked in. He stood and gave her his wide smile.

“Hi Mr. Hidinni, I'm Trista Mayo, I'm so honored to meet you.” As they shook hands Miroku roamed his eyes over her body and face. She had curves in all the right places and her face was beautiful. The long dark hair trailed down past her ass. Though she looked very young, her voice had sounded older and sexy. Perfect.

“Thank you, Ms. Mayo, please have a seat.” He waited for her to do so then continued. “Please turn to page 56 and read Jessabelle's part. I'll read all other characters. Read to the bottom of the page. They went through the reading and he had to admit that she wasn't bad. Physically she was perfect for the part. But he had to wonder if she was up for such a big part that would need a wide range of acting. After she finished she sat and waited anxiously for him to say something. He took his time and just continued to look at her deep in thought. Finally he said.

“You did pretty good…but I just don't think you're ready for the part.”

“What? Why Mr. Hidinni? I can read something over if you like just tell me and I'll do it.”

“Look I'm trying to be honest with you. You were pretty good but I need better then pretty good. I just don't think you have the experience to carry this kind of part. Jessbelle is a hidden seductress who hides under the façade of an innocent confused young woman. Not only that but she has to be cold but vulnerable at the same time. You have her in looks but I'm not sure on your range of emotions. If I don't pick the right person for Jessbelle the whole movie falls apart.”
Trista hung her head in defeat, after a while she slowly raised it and had a sneaky smile on her face. She got up and slowly walked to the desk, holding his attention that entire time.

“Mr. Hidinni…I understand your position. But like you said I have the looks and my reading wasn't bad. I know I don't have all the experience but well a girl has to start somewhere.” She walked behind his desk and he rolled his chair to face her waiting to see what she said next. “I'm sure all you'd have to do is work with me a little and then I'd be perfect. You're a great producer, I'm sure you can whip me into shape.” She fell to her knees and reached in-between his legs, massaging his balls. Miruku hadn't said a word, just watched as she gave her spill. Now a half smile played on his lips. There were always women throwing themselves at him for a part. He wasn't a saint he had also exchanged roles for sexual favors at his request, only if the person was right for the part though. No amount of sexual gratification was worth placing the wrong person in the wrong spot. Miroku had a very healthy sexual appetite and it didn't take long for his dick to harden some.

“So you see Mr. Hidinni I'm a very hard worker and if you're willing to work with me, I'll work with you.” She had unzipped his pants and pulled out his half-hard member. Now she looked up at him and gave her sexiest smile. “So what do you say? Do you think we can help each other out?” Miroku had had a hard morning and could use some relaxing. Besides the girl was right. If he had the director push her and maybe an acting coach during the first month of filming she would be his perfect Jessbelle. He reached into his desk as her hands continued to massage him and pulled out an imported cigar and lit it. Taking a small puff he looked down at her.

“Yeah, I think we can help each other out….a lot. With a few conditions like taking on an acting coach you have the part.” In her excitement she squeezed him hard and he moaned.

“Oh thank you Mr. Hidinni thank you so much. What can I ever do to thank you for this opportunity?”

“You can continue doing what you're doing.” She smiled up at him and leaned closer.

“Yes sir.” Slowly she brought her mouth down to cover the head of his penis. Miroku sucked on his cigar as she begin to give him a blow job. After a moment he closed his eyes and leaned back in his two hundred dollar office chair. Yes he thought she would do just nicely for the part of Jessbelle.
Fifth teen minutes later, his door was closing and he was zipping up his pants. Stubbing his cigar out in the ash tray he picked up the phone again.

“Yes, Ms. Mayo got the part, fax over the contract to her agent today a Ms. Sango Totosai. And don't forget to mention the party and that Trista's presence is mandatory. Tell her I want the contract signed and back on your desk before the day is over.”
He hung up and leaned back in his chair again. At least he was relaxed now that the part of Jessbelle was taken care of. Now if only he could get his father off his back, his life would be perfect.

Scene 3-Kagome and Sango-Wednesday

Sango and Kagome entered the seven bedroom house with their arms loaded with bags. As they reached the living room they left the bags fall from their hands and wearily took a seat on the sofa.

“Wow, shopping can be so draining.” Kagome complained wiping non-exsistent sweat from her brow. Sango smiled and sent the younger woman a bemused smile. Sango would have agreed except that none of the ten bags laid over the floor were hers. She had merely been a shopping buddy today. After all, how could she think of spending one cent when Kohku was sick. She frowned and tuned out Kagome who chattered away.
They were an odd pair of friends really. And if it wasn't for the business they would have never met. Three years ago when Kagome had just been 21, she'd come into Sango's office looking for an Agent. She had been fresh and bright eyed and ready to take on the world. Sango who was slow to make friends had liked her from the start. They had become good friends over the years Sango had gotten Kagome the part that would lead to her fame. Now three years later she was fast becoming one of the top females in the business. Needless to say Kagome's success had helped her own and built up her client base. They were nothing alike but somehow clicked. Sango was slow to anger and Kagome was short tempered at the oddest times. Sango was laid back and reserved and Kagome was outgoing and active. They complimented each other nicely.

“Hey Sango what's the matter?” Kagome asked realizing her friend wasn't listening to a word she said.

“Oh, I'm sorry, I was just thinking.”

“That's right. How thoughtless of me. You were probably thinking of Kohaku. Let me go put these things away and we'll go to the hospital for a visit.” Kagome rose, but Sango pulled her back down.

“No rush, visiting hours don't end until 9. Look thank you for convincing me to leave work early today and go out. I needed a break.”

“You sure did. I'm so sorry this had to happen to Kohaku, he's a sweet kid. I wish there was something I could do.” Sango waved her hand dismissively at Kagome.

“You've done enough by helping me stay sane.”

“No, I really wish I could lend you the money. But as you know all my money is tied up into investments.” Sango nodded and gave her a small smile. Sango knew her money was tied up since it had been her advice to the younger woman as soon as she made it big to invest.

“Fine time for you to start listening to me.” Sango joked.

“Ow, come on, I always listen to you.” Kagome laughed and pulled her friend into a light hug. Kagome thought of Sango as a big sister and did always carefully listen to her advice. “Now it's time you listen to me. Kohaku will be fine, I just have a feeling that everything will work out.”

“Well I'm glad you do, I don't, I'm worried sick.”

“I know you are, so that's why I want you to come to this party with me on sat.” Now Sango wrinkled her brow.

“Oh, no I don't think so.”

“Please! You'll be doing me a favor. Hidinni is throwing a big party to announce his new movie. Can you believe the guy? They haven't even started filming yet.”

“Arrogant isn't he. Yeah I know. Another client of mine just got the part of leading lady. She had to be there on Saturday also.”

“Great!” Kagome said. Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to get her there after all. “Then that's even more reason for you to come.” Sango shook her head. Kagome was always trying to drag her out to these parties.

“I wasn't invited. Remember I'm just a lowly agent.”

”Bah, you're the best agent. Besides I can bring a guest and I want to bring you. Come on, it will be a relaxer from worrying about your little brother. Seriously I really need you to come for two other reason. One it will be the a list people and you need to start mingling with more producers and directors, it would be good for you to network more. Two, if it's given by Hidinni then that damn Inuyasha will be there. He and Hidinni are like this” Kagome crossed two fingers to demonstrate how close they were. “And if you think Hidinni is arrogant then imagine Inuyasha being ten times worse.” Sango had a little secret smile on her face at her friends last statement.

“Well Kagome. Inuyasha was just voted worlds sexiest man by People Magazine last month, so what do you expect? You're to hard on him, he's a mega star so he's suppose to act that way.” Kagome just rolled her eyes and got up to pace.

“Please, he's just a jackass. I'll agree he's a damn good actor, but he rubs me the wrong way every time I'm around him. Maybe if you're there I won't end up cussing him out like I did the last two times we ran into each other.” That got a real laugh out of Sango and he stood up too.

“Okay fine I'll go, can't have you cussing out mega stars, it will be bad for your imagine. Besides, your right I could use a few hours to unwind.” She said as she started gathering bags in her hand again. “Come on lets take these up stairs and go see Kohaku.”

Scene 4-Inuyasha and Miroku-Thursday
Inuyasha sat in a large waiting room outside of Miroku's home office. He was suppose to meet his friend so they could go out to lunch. But from the raised voices he could tell that Miroku was having a fight with his old man again. Inuyasha smirked then stood up and started looking around. He had been in his room many times and had helped hang most of what hung on the wall. Most people didn't know it but Miroku produced music too and had been behind the scenes of some major hits. Lining the walls to the waiting room was just a few copies of platinum and gold albums that had topped the charts. The voices in the office grew louder so he sat down again to wait. He hopped Miroku hurried up. He wasn't good at waiting. Never had been, never would be.

“Damn it dad I'm a grown man, I don't need you meddling in my love life.” Naraku sat in a chair across from his agitated son. He long back hair streaked with distinguishing grey was pulled back into a tight knot. His very presence demanded respect.

“Don't raise your voice to me son, it's starting to piss me off. I don't know why your acting like this is the first time, you've heard of this subject. I sat you down when you were 16 and told you how it would be. I told you to have your cake and eat it too, so that when the time came you'd be ready, the time is now.”

“Shit! When I was 16 I didn't take you seriously then when you brought it up again at 24, I just thought you were crazy. I mean it's 2004, whoever heard of such a tradition, much less a cruse!” Miroku ran his hand over his loose hair, it was down today and lay barely below his shoulders. He couldn't believe he was having this insane coversation with his father again.
Now Naraku stood and moved towards his son…his only son. Miroku didn't move back but he did become wary. If his father was angry enough he just might take a swing at him. And his father was taking this very seriously.

“You may not believe but it's a fact. Over four generations of Hidinni men have stood against the cruse to keep this family strong and so will you it's your duty!
You will find a wife and will have a child!”

“And what pray tell will you do it I don't?” Miroku asked calmly and lowered his eyes to mask the anger he was feeling.

“You will be cut out of my will on your 27th birthday.”

“Big deal, I have my own fortune now.”

“You little bastard.” His fathers tight words had his head jerking up. “When did you become so selfish? Would you really hurt this family just to have your own way? Just because you don't want to get your hands dirty and sacrifice. What makes you think your any better then me, or my father or his father! Oh I get it, your just lazy, or is it your two week to bare the weight that has been placed on you. I'm done, I won't waste my breath anymore. I was disappointed when my only son chose to enter the sleazy business of show business but now I'm just disgusted at the weakling you've become.” Naraku his face unreadable, turned and made a dignified exit out the office.
///

Inuyasha rose as he heard the door open and gave a lopsided grin to who came out.

”Hi, Mr. Hidinni, nice to see you again.” Naraku glared at Inuyasha, giving him a small nod before continuing past him without a word. He had never really liked to boy….he was to damn cocky, just like his son. Inuyasha shrugged and waited for Miroku to appear. He was used to the old man treating him that way. He had since Miroku and he had become friends at the age of 16. Finally the door opened again and a very enraged Miroku came out.

“Let me guess.” Inuyasha said drly. “Not the fuzzy father/son moment you were hoping for.”

“You can say that again. That old bastard is trying to trap me.”

“Uh, how so.” Inuyasha was only mildly interested. His stomach was growling and he really just wanted some food. Besides Miroku and his father were always arguing over something.

“He…he wants me to do something I don't want to do. I'm not ready yet and damn it I shouldn't have to just because it's a family duty!” Miroku delivered the words with a calm but tight face, really only his flashing eyes gave away the fact that he was mad.

“What? Is it really that bad. Maybe you should just give in and get the old man off your back. At least that would shut him up.” Miroku opened his mouth then closed it. He wanted to tell his best friend 10 years what was going on, but thought it best he kept it a secret until he decided what he was going to do. After all, who would believe such a weird thing.

“You wouldn't understand Inuyasha.” Suddenly Miroku smiled and his body relaxed. He walked over and slung his arm over his superstar friend. “Come on buddy I promised you lunch. Besides I want to throw a new idea I had your way.” Inuyasha didn't comment on Miroku's mood change. One he was hungry as hell and two he figured if Miroku wanted to tell him he would. He wasn't into all that sharing stuff anyway.
