The Fateful Day

Chapter 1

Prologue

It was that day that I met the most wonderful girl in my life, Kagome. My name is Inuyasha, I am a student of Ishhioushi-hama High School in Kyoto, Japan. I am a sophomore there. I am about 6 feet tall with long silver tinted hair, I wear black and only black clothes, and carry my father's glasses with me each day. Strangely his prescription lens are the same as mine so I wear them when I feel insecure. He died protecting me and my mother from a band of triad members of the local mafia. I was four at the time, now I am 16 and my mother landed a cushy job in marketing. She gets paid well and I have a job at the local bread store.

She told me one day I would find someone who would make me as happy as my father made her, little did I know that day was today.

I walked along the street trying to balance my books and homework in both hands. I approached the gates of my high school and a jock named Kouga came up to me. I slipped on my dad's glasses to try to seek comfort.

"Hey there freak boy! Your mom let you out of your kennel?" He laughed as he insulted me."Hey you got my homework done weirdo?"

he asked. I nodded handing it to him."Ahhh goood.Atleast you have some purpose you lil' freak show." His friends ,Sesshomaru who is my brother, and Naraku came up beside him. They were all seniors.

"Hey squirt!"Sesshomaru said grabbing me by the head. Naraku snickered as he punched the top of my head. Sesshomaru was always jealous of me because he was my step brother, and father died for me and my mother and not him.

"Ahhhhh Sess!!!! Get offa me!!!!"I said groaning as I began to bleed.

Then my friends Kagura ,who is a junior, and Miroku, a senior, showed up.

"Ahhh not again! C'mon guys get off him!"Kagura said with an intense look on her face.

"Yah! Get off him or things get ugly!Wait Naraku's here so it already is!"Miroku said with confidence.

"Humph. C'mon lets leave the girls to their tea parties and rituals."Kouga said walking away.

"Your lucky your little friends stopped me shorty. I'll see you later punching bag."Sesshomaru said walking away. Naraku followed shortly after just staring at Miroku.

"Inuyasha are you ok?"Kagura said with concern in her voice.

"Yah that idiot hit you pretty hard. Do you want me to rough him up?" Miroku said jokingly.

"Nah its ok. I am used to it." I lied. "Well thanks guys but I got to get to class I will see you later."

First period was always a drag because we had Mrs.Kaede never made any sense and spoke in riddles. Well to me at least, and she always looked at me with an evil eye like I was evil or something. She lived for me to do something wrong so she could criticize me.

S ame day 4th period

This was Miroku's favorite class because of Ms. Kurushi, her first name was Sango and she didn't like her last name so we just called her by her first name. Miroku has got the serious hots for Sango, and you can tell by just looking at him when he sees her. Miroku's face lights up every time she walks by and he is in a good mood. She always wore skirts so Miroku would always try to look up them any chance he got, but that always made the other girls jealous of her. Miroku was the High School heart throb ,and receiver on the football team, that every girl wished they had, Second to him was Kouga the quarterback and third my brother the end of the linemen.. I was way down in the list.

Walking home

As I began to walk home from school I was being harassed by more Seniors from my brother's Football team. Kagura showed up as usual to help me fend them off. We got a little ways down away from them when she asked me something

"Ummm you wanna come over to my house? You can call your Mom from their and tell her your with me." She said with her usual smirk.

"I dunno it might sound weird to them, but ok. Oh and I want you to listen to my new CD I got, its Metallica, the kill em' all album." I said hoping she wouldn't feel like I was doing it because I wanted to go out with her or anything. I was perfectly content with her as a friend.

"Wow! Isn't that from the early 80's? That was their first one wasn't it?"

We got into a long discussion about 80's metal until we came across our friend Shippo who was a freshman. He seemed to be looking for something.

"Hey! Shippy! What's wrong?" Kagura said knowing she had called him the name he dreaded.

"My name is Shippo! Kagura future wife of Kouga!" he said as he searched the ground harder.

"Ewwww me with that dog? I would rather suck phormaldahide till I was stiffer than Michael Jackson at a boy's day care center!" She said laughing

I couldn't help but laugh as well.

"Hey Shippo we still up for practice tonight? I thought of a song. Kagura has the guitar solo down and Miroku has his bass amped up. You got your drums ready?" I said hoping he would say yes.

"Yeah I got it down but I gotta find my drumsticks. I haven't been able to find them I think I dropped them around here. Did you think of a name yet Inu?" he said giving an explanation for his actions.

"Oh yah I am gonna call it Backlash." I said proudly. Then out of no where a girl walked into the street on her cell phone and a large bus was about to hit her when I bursted over to save her. She looked at the bus as it honked its horn and screamed knowing she was gonna die, but somehow at the last moment by a stroke of luck I got her out of the way but the bus hit my leg sending me into the air. Kagura came running as fast she could to me hoping I was alright. I blacked-out moments later.

I had managed to get away with a cast on one leg with only one broken leg from the incident. It turns out though the girl was perfectly fine with only a bruise on her leg from where she landed. I later found out her name was Kagome and was a senior at my High School. Kagura, Miroku, and Shippo came to help me home today.

"Awww Inuyasha I didn't think you had it in you to do something like that, but just goes to show you how much you surprise me each and everyday." Kagura said encouragingly.

"Yah from what I hear that girl is Kouga's girlfriend so maybe he will lay off you for awhile, eh?" Shippo joked.

"Hmmm you know what the squirts right. Come to think of it she is his girlfriend. Wow that's a twist of fate right there." Miroku said.

"Hey who you calling squirt you pervert?!" Shippo retorted.

I laughed and slipped on my father's glasses when a somewhat familiar face came up to us as Miroku wheeled me around in the wheelchair.

"Ummm hello? Your name is Inuyasha right?" She asked me quietly.

"Ummm yeah that's me. How can I help you?" I asked.

"Ohhhh thank you, but you have helped me enough already!" She looked at my cast then back to me and reached her arms around me and cried in my shoulder. "You are sooo awesome! You took all that pain to help me and keep me alive? Ohhhh I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am!" She said teary eyed.

"I take it your Kagome. Well Kagome, you owe me nothing, I was just trying to save a job for the guy who would have to clean your body parts up." I said with a grin. Kagura and Shippo chuckled a little bit from that but, Miroku was busy eyeing the nurses.

"Ha ha very funny." she said sounding annoyed. "Oh well nice talking to my hero anyway." She ran over to a black truck with the driver none-other than Kouga. He took one look at me and made a gun with his fingers symbolizing him shooting me and drove off. I was angry but, for some reason couldn't stop thinking about Kagome all day. \~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~/
