InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Ad ❯ Epilogue ( Chapter 28 )
WARNING: THE FINAL LEMON
Epilogue
Six Years Later
The January sun illuminated the Takahashi-Higurashi residence. The living room was warm and homely, with toys abandoned on the cream colored couch and in front of the 48 inch flat screen television. The walls were covered with pictures of the family taken over three generation, the largest picture being the one taken at the last family reunion. Kagome rushed into the room, her heels forgotten by the door, along with her coat. Her designer suit was slightly in disarray, along with her inhumane bun. "Inu Yasha!" She called.
"Out with the children." Kaede answered as she entered the living room."
"Hojo will be here any minute for the boys…tell me that my husband had the foresight to pack their bags in advance." Kagome pleaded with her eyes.
"This is Inu Yasha we're talking about." The old woman smiled. "He had me do it."
Kagome smiled at the older woman, who had taken the role of her mother for the past six years. "What would I do without you, Kaede?"
"You would do fine…You would probably get away with killing your husband for his constant stupidity, but then, the boys would be without a father."
"Sometimes I feel like I'm raising five boys." Kagome confessed as she began to pick up the Big Wheels and action figures. The sound of laughter coming from the garage brought a smile to her face, but the sound of a skateboard on her hardwood floor stole it. "Boys, I have told you a thousand times: No skateboarding in the house."
Kaede looked into the hall, where Inu Yasha had stood frozen, one foot still on the skateboard, his youngest son held tightly in one arm. His second youngest latched to his other leg, while the two oldest were two steps behind him. The old woman's smile prompted him to disappear with the children and the offending skateboard before his wife saw him. "I think you're exaggerating. Inu Yasha is quite mature for his age." Kaede could not keep herself from laughing at her own joke. When Kagome stuffed the toys into a nearby closet without smiling, Kaede became slightly more serious.
"How did you con poor old Hojo into taking the boys?"
"I didn't. He wants children; Jakotsu doesn't. He figures that one weekend with my boys will change his mind."
"Jakotsu's or Hojo's?" Both women laughed. "Your boys will do what they want with Hojo. He doesn't have one disciplinarian bone in his body."
"And they have an apartment of full of fine crystal…I hope they removed it for the weekend." Kagome sat down smiling. "It's not like I had much of a choice. It's my six year anniversary and I'm out of an overnight babysitter. I usually ask Kagura, but she's due any day soon."
"Do they know what it is?"
"Yes, a girl. Rin is delirious with happiness just thinking of the shopping trips they'll take with her, and Sesshomaru is thrilled to have another girl to pamper. He is convinced girls are less destructive than boys."
"And the twins?"
"They are just too happy with the idea of being big brothers to be jealous." Kagome laughed before continuing. "They almost destroyed the kitchen last weekend trying to make an ice cream sundae breakfast for their unborn sister." The old woman laughed thinking of the two identical inu youkai boys with wind powers.
"Speaking of babies, how is Sango adjusting?"
"The poor thing is stress. Suma is teething, and Miroku is adjusting to his new position as president of the firm. Sango has more responsibilities at work, and the two hardly get to see each other anymore. Miroku's parents were going to take the girl for the weekend so they could make up for lost time, and having been in their position, I know exactly what they'll be doing." Kaede raised and eyebrow in question. "Sleeping. Simple, relaxing lovely sleep." Kagome spoke nostalgically of the days she would get a full nights rest. "Which is why I didn't even suggest for them to take the boys."
"Why didn't your jii-chan take them?"
"He is so busy. Souta still hasn't returned from his stay in Italy."
"How did his Master's go? International Journalism, right?" Kagome nodded in response,
"Fabulous. Not only did he make some great connections, he reconciled with Rin."
"Oh, that's right. He and Rin had dated some time back."
"Yeah, they had broken up when he went to college, but Rin and Shippo took a trip to go visit him earlier in the year, and sparks flew."
"It was meant to be." Kaede smiled. "Do I take it their will be more babies in the near future."
"Don't push it. Rin just graduated college, and my brother still needs to settle down."
"How about you? Don't you want a little girl?"
Kagome looked at the old woman nostalgically. "I would love one, but I don't think I can handle another child."
"They aren't so bad, just high spirited." Suddenly the sound of an expensive Lladro vase hitting the ground and exploding into a thousand pieces, echoed through the house.
"It wasn't me!" Five male voices announced. Kagome rubbed her temples in an effort to relax.
"You know, the worst part of it all is that even with everything they break, including rules, I wouldn't trade them for anything." The old woman smiled knowingly. A car honk interrupted their thoughts. "Kids, uncle Hojo is here!" Four inu hanyou quarter demons rushed to their mother in a straight line. Kaede had moved to the front door to greet Hojo and give him the kid's luggage.
"Now, I want you four to be on your best behavior this weekend. One broken object, and it's a month of working for jii-chan Higurashi at the Shrine! Do I make myself clear?" The four boys swallowed hard and nodded. They may have been young, but they understood that the Shrine was filled of chores. Their black long hair was tied in low ponytails. They had inherited their father's silver ears and golden eyes, but they had Kagome's smile. They looked so much alike, the only evidence they weren't quadruplets was the year difference between each one. She kissed each one goodbye, showing them her usual tenderness. She hadn't seen them since breakfast, having to go into the office for a meeting. Stopping in front of Juro, her youngest, she knelt down and tied his laces. Hardly over a year old, and he had the bad habit of running after his brothers with his shoe laces untied, which usually ended with a bruised knee. "Give mommy a hug." She smiled as all four tackled her to the ground. The car horn alerted them of their awaiting uncle.
"We'll be on our bestest behavior, mommy!" Toshiro, her oldest promised as the four raced out the door.
"That's what I'm afraid of." Kagome mumbled as her boys disappeared followed by Kaede, who waved good bye.
Kagome walked towards the kitchen, where she abandoned her suit jacket. She was surprised not to find her husband drinking out of the milk carton as was his habit around this time of day. "Inu Yasha?" She called out, but got no response as she moved towards the kitchen table were the day's newspaper was abandoned. She sighed rubbing her neck.
"What did you do for your six-year anniversary?" Kagome asked herself sarcastically. "Had an affair with the gardener, since my husband was conveniently missing in action." She jumped at the sound of the telephone ring. She answered the surprise call, trying to calm her heart. "Hello?"
"Have you read the classifieds today?" A familiar, but distorted voice asked.
"Inu Yasha?"
"They hold something of interest for you." The line clicked on the other end, and she walked to the table and in a loud voice began to read,
"'Single Doctor selling viable sperm to pay Med School loans'…Now, that can't be it." She looked for another that caught her eye, "'Used underwear, cheap with little mileage'…That sounds like my first car." She sat down making herself comfortable until she saw a plain font ad near the bottom of the page. "'Husband looking for Desperate woman …willing to mate.'" Kagome choked on the second half of the ad as she sensed her husband walk into the kitchen holding a single red rose. He was wearing his favorite red sweater and jeans as he smiled. He had gained a few laugh lines around his eyes over the years, but his eyes had never been fuller of happiness.
"Inu Yasha?" She asked confused.
"We've been tip-toeing around the subject for six years now." He spoke softly. "I think we're ready."
"Are you sure?"
"Keh, I'm asking you, aren't I."
"Still the arrogant jerk, I fell in love with." Kagome smiled, used to his responses.
"So, will you?" Her smile never failed as she leaned in to kiss him.
"I'm glad you see it my way." He smiled as he picked her up bridal style, after putting the thorn-less rose behind her ear. "By the way, I gave the entire staff the day off, so there is no way you could have had an affair with the gardener." He smiled possessively as his wife gave him a surprised look before relaxing into his embrace.
"Then it's a good thing that my husband is available to satisfy my appetite." She laughed when he growled playfully at her. He made their way towards the master bedroom of the house they had filled with happiness, laughter, tears, arguments, and family for almost six years. There was a calmness that settled in his heart, as if his soul was finally at peace. He had pushed their bed towards one side to be able to make a circle of candles in the center of the room. The curtains were drawn, so the only light they had, were of the small candles. Kagome did not hesitate trusting her husband to lead her in the dark towards the circle. She didn't know much of the ritual besides it uniting two souls throughout time. She smiled lovingly at her husband. Their life together hadn't been easy, especially with her getting pregnant four times consecutively. All her four children had been unplanned, though not unwelcomed. It seemed that life had other plans for them, which not even birth control could contradict. The boys had united them further, but also tested their pertinence, understanding and love.
"I love you." He whispered as he remarked her. Her eyes shot opened as a frightening pleasure filled her body, causing her to sink her teeth into his neck. He released her inhumane bun as she relaxed against him. Pulling back he took a second to look deeply into her eyes. Using his claw, he sliced through the buttons of her silk blouse. He pushed it aside to reveal his wife's creamy skin. Her body had taken a more womanly beauty after having four babies. He stomach was now soft, though with an exercise partner like Kagura, she had not lost her waist or her curves. Her hips had become slightly wider, and her breasts larger, but all her changes only fueled her husband's passion for her.
Kagome took a deep breath, realizing that even after all this time, her husband could still seduce her.
He dragged his claw from her neck, slowly down her chest, slicing through her bra. He laid her back, kissing each breast lovingly before moving down to her navel, where he kissed the scar left by her navel ring when she removed it. Not bothering with zippers, he sliced the side of her skirt open. After pushing away the offending cloth, he dragged his claws up her legs sending electric shivers throughout her body, before slicing her underwear away. "This is how I like you best…like Kami made you. Not one flaw in his creation." She blushed at the compliment used to the attention he was bestowing her body. He caressed every inch of her, chanting in an ancient language.
Controlled by instinct, Kagome slowly raised her hands to remove her husbands sweater, which he did not object to. She traced the lines of his body. He was still in great shape, though now, instead of sparring, most of his exercise came from running after his children. Kagome smiled. He was a wonderful father. Granted, she had to be the disciplinarian most of the time, but there was a bond between her boys, she knew she couldn't ask for a better father for her children. Each line on his body was like a line on a map they had drawn together. She reached his pants, and easily undid the button, after years of practice. She pushed them back and smiled. He still went commando.
She was surprised to find him kissing her. He had taken the dominant control of the situation, once again. "It's time for the marking." He explained as he prepared to join their bodies. Using his claw, he carved his name on her womb, where she had carried his children. This was the part of her that he most admired. He was still amazed on how she had brought his children into the world. Kagome gasped in pure pleasure as she felt warmth fill her. She knew rocked her hips frustrated against him, needing the union. Her body began to burn with a need only Inu Yasha could satiate. With her right index finger, she reached up, and like she had done over six years ago in the park, she traced her name over his abdomen. With the magic that sealed their union, a scar formed over his skin. He felt all control snap as his skin burned with her touch. She screamed in pleasure as he filled her completely.
"I love you." She gasped as he began to rock against her, his eyes completely red with passion and demon magic. He interlocked his fingers with her as he growled his passionate warning. Kagome braced herself as she prepared for her husband's complete loss of control. His trust and his complete abandonment for his passion for her were always things that amazed her. She screamed as his speed and power reached a new level. The tense spring that had been forming in her abdomen snapped, and even with his wife's completion, Inu Yasha wasn't ready to stop. He gently nipped at her breasts as he whispered loving words in demon tongue, which she instinctively understood as she allowed him his release. He slowly brought them to new heights with his demon speed; his wife's moans were the best aphrodisiac for his magic-washed body. "Inu Yasha!" She screamed as she felt energy explode between them, surrounding them completely. She felt their aura as one, and understood the ritual at once. Inu Yasha collapsed exhausted above her.
Tired from pleasure, she opened her eyes. The room was dark since the candles had died out. She smiled and whispered, "I love my anniversary present."
"So you finally see it." He rolled off her without pulling out. Holding her tightly he looked up to the hard work that had taken up most of the day. "The boys were a big help. Even Juro knows more than me about the stars."
"It's perfect." She whispered as she looked up at the glow in the dark stickers forming all the constellations on her bedroom ceiling.
"I know." He smiled as he traced his mark on her. She purred in pleasure before she sensed something else. "Relax…this one will be a girl." She couldn't help but laugh at the male pride reflected in his eyes. Pulling him in for a kiss, she whispered,
"I should have known."
They spent the rest of the weekend making love underneath the artificial stars in their bedroom, and the rest of their lives mapping their happiness.

I did it! I finished it! I'm so happy. I hope you enjoyed the epilogue. Yes, it's short, but it's an epilogue, no major conflict. A few of you complained about the ending, yeah, I didn't feel it either, but I just didn't know how else to end it, which is why I have an alternate ending. Meche still on vacation, so this is full of mistakes. I checked the people's choice awards, and I'm so happy so many people have voted for me. Though this is going to be a close call between the Ad and the Lucky Ones. So far, the Ad is only a head by one vote. Thank you so much for your support. You can still vote at http://protege.just-in-dreams.com/index3.html
I will be posting the alternate ending soon, so stay tuned.
Oh, by the way. The next story will be a while. I am booked at work, and I'm actually taking the time to write an outline for this story. It is so long and complicated that I need a clear map of how I'm going to get there. I might have some cute short stories to hold you guys over until then, but I make no promises. I'm really busy, which is why it took forever to post this. I hope to have a draft of something for this project within a month or two. The updates will be farther apart than usual, remember, I'm not in school anymore. I have a real job and responsibilities, and preparation to go back to school for my Ph. D in a year or two.
Hope you enjoyed this story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
