Hehe, so here is the last chapter of the story, I hope it's not so bad. But now I really have to work on my BA thesis, I am running out of time . So sit back and enjoy, some unexpected little twists occur, of course all due to my possible insanity Nothing too weird though, I hope ^____^

So thanks to fangirlofinuyasha for reviewing.

Enjoy!

After leaving the village, Inuyasha and Miroku couldn't help noticing that the girls were surprisingly quiet. It was strange, since during the past few days they had been giggling like mad and whispering between themselves. But now they were quiet, not even talking to one another. Could they be angry at each other? Inuyasha and Miroku exchanged glances, then nodded.

Both girls were brought back to reality when they felt the guys' arms around them. Sango jumped, and almost slapped Miroku, but Kagome simply leaned her head on Inuyasha's shoulder and sighed happily.

"Is there something wrong?" Inuyasha asked her.

"No, why?"

"You look so tense, you know?"

"I do?"

"Yes, did you have a fight with Sango or something?"

"No, by no means!"

"Then, is it because of what happened last night?"

Kagome blushed, and tried to hide it by grabbing tightly unto Inuyasha's shirt and burying her face in his chest. She could feel the color in her cheeks.

"Of course not," she said, "I am not sorry or anything."

"Good. So what is it?"

She doubted, should she tell him?

Sango had already calmed down, and let Miroku embrace her loosely, and kept on walking by his side. It was obvious what had kept her and Kagome in deep thought, they still hadn't figured out which guy had declared his love first, so they didn't know who was the one that had to go through the humiliation of dancing in underwear in front of the rest.

She felt Miroku's hand rubbing her back, and looked at him. He was looking at her as well, questioningly.

"Everything alright?" he asked.

She nodded.

"You can tell me, you know?" his warm smile encouraged her, so she leaned closer and whispered something into his ear.

The private moment Kagome and Inuyasha had been sharing was interrupted by a sudden burst of laughter Miroku had. They both looked shocked at the monk, they had never seen him react like that, and they could see that even Sango was surprised, not to mention the deep blush on her cheeks.

"Don't laugh!" she protested.

"How can I NOT laugh?" Miroku asked, wiping tears away from his eyes, but keeping on laughing. "It's so funny!"

"It's not!"

"What's going on?" Shippou asked, he knew all too well that the girl's plan had worked.

"I can't believe you made a bet like that!" Miroku continued laughing.

Kagome immediately blushed.

"You told him?!" she asked Sango.

"Yes. . ."

"Oh, my God!"

"What is it?" Inuyasha asked.

Miroku couldn't tell him, for he was still laughing too much to say anything. Kagome and Sango were still all blushed.

"Somebody tell me what's going on!"

Miroku finally regained his composure and approached Inuyasha, and also whispered something into his ear. The hanyou went first red, then grabbed Kagome and hid her behind him protectively.

"There is absolutely NO WAY Kagome is dancing like that in front of YOU!" he shouted, but then realized the situation was indeed funny and started laughing as well. Now Kagome and Sango stood aside, watching the guys crack down, with their arms crossed in front of them.

"I hope you realize we did this because of you," Kagome said, very annoyed, "so don't think it's funny."

"I just can't believe you would bet over something as trivial as that!" Inuyasha growled, laughing.

"It's not trivial!" Sango shouted. "You guys were so. . . so. . ."

"Irresponsive!" Kagome said.

"As if you ever tried anything before. . ." Miroku said, getting serious again.

"It was obvious!" Sango screamed at him. "You were just a total idiot!"

"What did I do?"

"You were always. . ."

Her face grew dark that moment, and her hand connected with his cheek.

"What was that for?!" he asked, rubbing his cheek softly.

"What for? You groped me again!"

"I thought I was allowed to now. . ."

Kagome and Inuyasha both looked at Sango, who looked away at once. She knew that after what had happened the night before she shouldn't get mad, but somehow she couldn't help it. She still felt abused.

"That's it," she said, frustrated, "I've got the solution for all this, Kagome-chan."

"What is it?"

"We are NOT dancing, none of us."

Kagome thought about it.

"But then there's no fun. . ."

"You can dance, if you want, I don't."

"Hmm, maybe you're right, that's good."

Inuyasha and Miroku looked crestfallen.

"That is so unfair. . ." Miroku protested.

"Hentai," Sango said, eyeing him.

"He's right!" Inuyasha said. "Just because the two of you can't decide on the loser doesn't' mean WE have to lose too."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kagome asked.

"Both of you dance!" Shippou cried happily.

"WHAT?!!!!!!!!!" flames enveloped Kagome and Sango, as they shot deadly glares at the two men and the little boy.

"Well. . ." Shippou tried to make it better, ". . . Kagome could dance for Inuyasha, and Sango for Miroku. . ."

Both girls thought for a moment. Inuyasha smirked, but Miroku seemed disappointed.

"Alright," Kagome said. "That sounds okay with me."

"So we only get to see one?" Miroku asked, sadly.

Inuyasha started laughing then, so Miroku looked at him, questioningly.

"I will get to see one," Inuyasha said, "but it looks like you won't be seeing any."

He pointed towards the place where Sango was standing, and she looked painfully blushed.

"What's wrong, Sango-chan?" Kagome asked.

"I don't have to dance!" she shouted. "And I won't!"

"Why not?" Miroku asked, even more sad.

"Coz you didn't declare your love for me. I did."

The three looked at Sango.

"You did?"

"Yes, he wasn't saying anything. . . so I said it. . . so it's only fair if HE should dance for me."

Kagome's eyes lit.

"Now that's an excellent idea!"

"What?!" Miroku asked. "No way! I am not dancing in underwear! I am a monk!"

"So what?" Inuyasha asked. "You don't behave like one all the time."

"And you certainly did not last night," Sango winked.

He froze, it seemed he didn't have another solution.

"Alright. . ."

"Yeeey!" Sango was so happy she threw her arms around him and kissed him quickly. He of course hadn't expected this, and blushed under her touch. "Was about time you went through some humiliation for me ."

Kagome and Inuyasha hugged. They didn't have any particular interest in watching the monk dancing in underwear, but they would certainly have a good laugh, for they highly doubted the monk knew how to dance.

That evening Sango laughed more than she had in a long time. It was just too funny to see Miroku attempting to dance, and even more funny seeing him struggling not to turn to watch Kagome dancing, for he knew that if he did, Hiraikotsu would meet with his head instantly. . . again. Though Kagome DID turn to see Miroku dancing, and giggled to herself, and at the end let herself fall into the arms of Inuyasha, who covered her with his fire-rat robe and let her rest there.

Miroku was forced to dance a bit longer, but then Sango was kind to him when he dropped to his knees, completely spent. She knelt in front of him and gathered his face in her hands, bringing him closer to her, and kissing him.

"I'm glad you did this for me," she said, and passed her arms around his body.

"It was the first and last time, though," he assured her, gasping for air.

"I don't think so," she giggled.

Not so far, Inuyasha and Kagome were also sharing a private moment, but she was more cuddled to him than Sango was to Miroku. He head rested on Inuyasha's chest, and he held her protectively.

"You didn't need to scare me like that," Inuyasha said and kissed the top of her head.

"Scare you?"

"Yeah, I really thought that Hatori guy was for real. . ."

"He isn't," Kagome said and moved a bit to look into her backpack, then got the magazine out. She flipped the pages and showed Inuyasha the picture.

"So that's Hatori," he said inspecting the pictures, "not a bad technique of painting but. . . I don't know, I think the magazine has a problem."

"A problem?" Kagome asked, confused.

"Yeah, there's something about the look. . ."

He flipped the pages and then Kagome stopped him.

"That's Hotohori, the guy Sango-chan was talking about."

"Ahh, that's just great," Inuyasha said smiling. Looking at Kagome in the eyes he ripped the magazine in two.

"What are you doing?!" Kagome exclaimed and the other two turned to see her.

"Oi, Miroku," Inuyasha said throwing him half of the magazine. "Flip through it a bit, and when you find the guy with the really long hair and the sword stop."

"What's it?" he caught it and started flipping. When he found the pic, Sango gasped. "So that's Hotohori? Hmm, interesting."

"You ripped my magazine!" Kagome exclaimed. "Why did you. . ."

"You know, Miroku," Inuyasha went on, ignoring Kagome's protests, "since these two fellows were the ones that these girls used to trick us, I think we should honor them for the results. . . so what do you think is an appropriate ritual?"

"Hmm," Miroku looked thoughtful for a moment, "I think the fire one would be the best."

"Ah, I knew you would say that."

"What?" Sango asked.

"Fire?!" Kagome screamed.

"Ready?" Inuyasha asked.

"Whenever you say," Miroku smirked.

"One, two. . . THREE!"

Both threw their halves of the magazine into the fire that was burning in the middle of their camp, and the pages burned down in no time.

"So, with that settled," Inuyasha said, "I think I can sleep peacefully."

"Oh, yeah," Miroku said.

Inuyasha picked up Kagome and walked somewhere else, and nothing else was heard of them for the rest of the night.

Ok. . . maybe Miroku and Sango DID hear something, but they were to busy to put any mind to it themselves.

By the fire, Shippou and Kirara showed thumbs up to each other, and closed their eyes again, happy to see that the people they traveled with had finally solved one of their inner conflicts.
