Unbeknownst to the murderer, her victims had not died.
Sesshomaru had smelt the powerful stench of his half brother’s blood. It was incredibly close to where he had been and he had decided to investigate.
He was angered by the fact that someone besides him had killed the hanyou. Thus, with pleas from his human girl, Rin, he brought the small group back with his Tenseiga. Inuyasha had questioned his brother’s motives but Sesshomaru would not yield to answering. He merely told the group he had plans and did not wish for them to be ruined, by anyone. He turned and left with his faithful Jaken and Rin following behind him.
“Inuyasha…I don’t know what happened…But I’m so glad I didn’t lose you! I don’t think I could ever live without you!” The young miko sobbed into her hanyou’s haori. He lovingly ran his fingers through her hair.
“I love you too, Kagome. I promise I won’t let anything hurt you again…”
Miroku finally broke down and confessed his undying love for Sango. She was skeptical before realizing the sincerity of his words and voicing her own feelings.
“Sango…Will you bear my child.” The monk prepared himself for the oncoming slap, but it never came. He slowly opened his eyes. To his surprise, a smile was plastered on the taijiya’s face. She launched herself on the monk and hugged him tightly.
“I will, Miroku!” A look of shock spread across his face. The other three of the group sweat-dropped at the girl finally, after all of this time, giving in to the monk.
The young kitsune sprawled out on the ground with Kirara mewing next to him. “Kirara…I will never understand grown-ups…” He shook his head and sighed. “Their just so weird!”
The group may have been missing their jewel shards, but Naraku still didn’t have the entire thing yet. With the help of Sesshomaru and Kouga, the group eventually defeated Naraku and confronted Kik. The poor girl was distraught. She had been had. They took no pity on her and Inuyasha took the liberty of killing her. He had been extremely pissed about the fact that she had killed his beloved.
Kagome and Inuyasha were on a grassy hill. Inuyasha was lying with one arm wrapped protectively around her and the other playing with her hair. She was lying beside him and her head resting on his chest. She leaned up and kissed him.
“Inuyasha…To prove how much I love you…I will do something you’ve wanted for a long time.” She put her slender hands behind his neck and slowly removed the Beads of Subjugation. The hanyou’s eyes widened and he put both hands on the girl’s face and pulled her to him. He kissed her passionately.
“Kagome…I love you so much…” He sighed and laid his head back on the grass. She smiled lovingly at him.
“What should we wish for?” He flicked his amber eyes towards her questioningly. “What wish should we make on the Shikon no Tama?” She reached down her shirt and pulled out the completed jewel. A pensive look crossed the boy’s features.
“May I?” He gestured towards the jewel with his outstretched hand. She nodded and placed the jewel in his hand.
He closed his eyes and quietly whispered his wish. “I wish…I wish that all of the heartache caused on the jewel’s behalf, and Naraku’s behalf, can be forgotten.” He opened his eyes to see tears shining in Kagome’s eyes.
He looked worried as the bright light surrounded the jewel and spread in all directions, seeking out the hearts of all who had been hurt by the jewel and the evil man. “Kagome why are you crying!?” She smiled and wiped at her eyes.
“Their happy tears, Inuyasha! I’m so glad that you made such a good decision!!” She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him with tears of happiness streamed down her cheeks.
So, in the end, Kik was murdered for betrayal of those who had befriended her. Inuyasha used the Shikon no Tama to repair all of the heartaches. That in turn set Kikyou free. Sango wasn’t heartbroken over the loss over her whole family and village. Miroku no longer had his wind tunnel. Inuyasha didn’t feel the pain of betrayal that had always resided in his, since Kikyou had pinned him to the Goshinboku, anymore. Kagome was as happy and care free as she had been when she first stepped foot outside of the well. Their lives were their own from now on. The wonderful times and hardships were of their own accord. The jewel and Naraku could not cause damage anymore.
