Chapter 1: Back Through the Well Again

The trip through the well was more stressful than usual. The hanyou that she had grown quite fond of was pissed, very pissed. She fully dreaded the encounter that she knew awaited her on the other side…

 

“Stupid Inuyasha, why cant he just understand that I HAVE to travel to my time to take these `dumb' test, as well as restock on all of the food from my time he loves so much” she muttered as she exited the well.

 

Sure enough, before her feet fully hit the dirt floor of the well in feudal Japan, she had been yanked up by the giant yellow backpack that she constantly carried. She stood face to face with one angry half demon. She winced slight as he roughly set her on the ground.

 

“Where the hell were you, I've been sitting in that damn tree for three days. You said you wouldn't be long. What happened to that huh” the boy asked furiously.

 

“Inuyasha you know I had tests to take, besides I brought you back a present…”

 

Her voice trailed off while she rummaged for the gift. Finally, after what had seemed like ages to Inuyasha, she handed him a warm cup of ramen. He completely forgot his anger and ate quickly. When he was finished, Kagome gathered her things and the pair quickly headed back to the village where the rest of their companions waited after an extensive battle with a snake demon.

 

“KAGOOOMEEEE!” The little ball of fur jumped happily into his adopted mother's arms. “I'm so happy your home, I missed you so much!”

 

Kagome patted the kitsune on the head and held him close for a hug. “I missed you too Shippo, where is Sango and Miroku?”

 

“Oh they left earlier today, a nearby village had a bad demon problem so they went to help. Kiedae and I will be leaving in the morning to assist them by gathering herbs to help exterminate the demon, and Kirara is going to be going with us.” the kitsune stated bravely.

 

`Good' Kagome thought to herself, `this gives me time to ask Inuyasha what I need him to do, boy I hope he agrees.'

 

“Wow Shippo, sounds like you have a pretty important mission ahead of you.” Kagome replied.

 

“Yea I sure do, I will talk to you in the morning, good night Kagome.”

“Good night Shippo.”

 

She watched as he bounced happily into Kiedae's tent. In all of the commotion of being reunited with Shippo, she had completely forgotten about Inuyasha.

 

`hum, oh well, I guess he was tired' she thought to her self.

 

“Good night Inuyasha” she called up into his favorite tree that over looked her hut.

 

“Good night Kagome” he replied. It was a whisper that only a demon could hear.
