Chapter 4: The gruesome twosome
~*~*~
It had been two weeks since the whole accident. You know? The one where Kagome rushed over to Sango's house and thwaped her father with a frying pan. She couldn't help it. He just blurted that she need a bodyguard with out so much as a damn hello. She remembered the phone call much to her dissatisfaction.
~*~Flashback~*~
Mr. Onishi: Is Kagome there?
Kagome: This is she.
Mr. Onishi: Good, it's me Makoto.
Kagome: Oh hi Mr. O, what's up?
Mr. Onishi: youneedabodyguardandI'msorryIdidn'ttellyousooner. I'llexplainlater.
Kagome: WHAT?!
Mr. Onishi: Bye!
"I'm going to kill him." Kagome said as she hung-up the phone.
~*~End Flashback~*~
He was quite shocked that the girl understood what he said. But he had more important things to do. So far, he had two main candidates for the job. He had already hired them and was trying to come up with a meeting between the girl's and the guys. He settled for the simple `get together' plan and went to sleep, praying that his plan wouldn't fail.
~*~*~
"…..I'm sorry Asako, but I'm having an affair."
"…...But Kenji, I love you." The on screen couple embraced each other and started to kiss each other passionately. Needless to say Inuyasha was bored. He looked over to his not so little sister, Rin, who was snuggled up on the couch, crying. She was wrapped in a plaid, flannel throw blanket and had a gigantic bowl of popcorn in her hands. She looked so…..so….. girly right there. Inuyasha admitted, he did miss the girl. It's funny how a girl can grow so much in two years. But along with her body, her mouth grew as well. She noticed her brother's stare and gave him an annoyed look.
"What?" She asked, obviously irritated.
"What, I can't look at you anymore? Jeez….." Inuyasha explained.
"No. Not like I'm some freak show or something." She answered while popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth.
"You have to be some kind of freak show if you can watch this crap and not pass out." He said while smirking. Rin just rolled her eyes and continued to watch the soap opera.
"Don't get mad because you're too dumb to understand that Asako is madly in love with Kenji. Even if he did get drunk, high, and had an affair with her best friend Keiko on three different occasions." She made this sound like it was a normal, everyday occurrence. She didn't notice the look of confusion that Inuyasha was giving her. It was quickly replaced by a smile as he thought about how much he missed this place, his home. He decided to stay for a couple of weeks to get his mind off of Kikyo. He even got a new job as a bodyguard for some girl, Tagome, or something like that. You'd think that he would pursue something else seeing as this profession would remind him about Kikyo, but he would never pass up the chance to legally kick someone's ass now would he? Most of all he came back for the warm feeling it gave him when he was home. He was still looking at Rin with that same dorky smile. She, again, acknowledged this with even more annoyance than before.
"What now?" She asked impatiently.
"Nothin', just that I love ya kid." He said this while standing up and stretching his limbs. He stopped when he heard the very distinct crack in his back. He let out a yawn and started walking to his room when something very warm and short hugged him. He looked down and saw Rin there half smiling and half crying.
"I missed you so much, Inuyasha." She sobbed in to his shirt. "I love you so much."
She continued to sob and hug him for several minutes until she let out all the pain and sadness from the past two years of missing him. He wondered if everyone at home felt that way about him. Probably not Sess, but who gives a flying crap about him any ways? He shook his head and patted Rin's. He knelt down to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek before saying a few more words.
"Look Rin, I've missed you and everyone else here. But if you tell anyone about me giving you a kiss on the cheek, I will skin you alive and make an outfit for Sesshoumaru. Got it?" He said with a hint of tease in his voice. Leave it to Inuyasha to ruin a sweet brotherly/sisterly bonding moment with impossible threats.
She rolled her eyes and let a chuckle escape her throat. "Fine, but you know what this means right?" She suddenly got one of Inuyasha's trade mark mischievous looks.
"No, what does it mean." He felt as though he would regret ever asking the question in the first place.
"Nothing, except now I have blackmail on you." She flicked his nose and skipped all the way to her room. Inuyasha face faulted in to the ground once her statement registered in his head. He quickly regained composure and gave an annoyed sigh.
"Now I know why I left in the first place." He stomped off angrily to his room, not coming out for the rest of the night.
~*~*~
The sun peeked over the sky, making it very flashy entrance through Inuyasha's window. He stirred slightly and managed to fall off the bed. He hit his head pretty hard against the hard floor but laughed it off. He even missed falling off the bed for crying out loud. He was about to take another quick nap when Mr. Sun decided to flash him his trademark wake-up call. Inuyasha was blinded by this light and cursed under his breath, hoping that the sun heard.
"Stupid ass sun, waking me up. Can't it see it's a Saturday…..wait Saturday, there's something important about….. OH SHIT!" Realization hit him like pigeon crap on a car (please excuse my analogies, it is 12:28 am) as he remembered what he needed to do. He was supposed to meet at his employer's house today and he was going to be late. He quickly hurried himself, trying to get there on time.
~*~Meanwhile~*~
[A/N: This part is dedicated to Lil-Strange-Person, You'll see why ^__~]
Inuyasha wasn't the only person that the sun was tormenting. It actually got a chance to bother a young man who goes by the name of Miroku. Now, Miroku was out all night partying. He remembered that there was a certain place to be on Saturday but did he care enough, no. So now he is in bed with some girl he met at a club dreading to get up. He wasn't dreading the meeting, more that if he moved to much the woman would wake up. He finally managed to get up without waking her and headed into the bathroom.
He was showering [yeah baby!] when something sparked in his mind.
"Damn. I left my clothes in the room." He said frustrated. Now how was he going to get dressed? [Insert innuendo here] He got out the shower and tip-toed right back into his room. If he would have looked around, he would have noticed that she wasn't in the bed.
"Mornin' sexy. I see you're up and about. Good morning to you too, Miroku." Said the girl. She walked right over to him and started to kiss his shoulder blades. It took every ounce of Miroku not to let her finish, but alas another lady was waiting. Particularly the one who was going to make him the money.
"Sorry Natsuko, but I have to go to a meeting." He said while putting on his pants.
"Oh, its ok----Natsuko? Who the hell is Natsuko?" She cocked her head to the side and got very angry with him.
"Uh I mean, Yuri?" He tried.
"No. It's not Yuri either." She gritted her teeth and walked right up to him. "Who are all those women?"
"Oh come on Keiko, it's no big deal." He tried to say that as if forgetting someone's name was a normal thing. `Dear Kami, please, help me.'
"How dare you! Make me think that you were with no other women and forget my name. I thought we had something together!" She cried.
"Yeah, we had sex." He just finished putting on his shoes. She continued to nag.
"Is that all I was to you? Just some sleazy girl?" She threw a shoe at his face and continued to scream.
"Of course not Aoi, you were great." He said through a forced smile.
"Ughh! Forget it. I'm leaving. Good bye." Blank got her clothes and ran out side his condo. He shook his head and started to comb his hair. When he was satisfied with his look, he put on his shades, went to his car, and drove all the way to his boss's house.
~*~*~
"Inuyasha, you're going to go like that?" His mother gave him a once over and raised an eyebrow. He wasn't exactly dressed like you would dress at a meeting. What he had on were some baggy, loose, denim jeans and a big, read, T-shirt with a white under shirt. Also, he had on some white sneakers and a fitted hat that coordinated with his clothes. Now Inuyasha was dressed well, if he was going to the movies or something, but for his first day on the job his mother wanted him to wear the suit she picked out for him.
"What's wrong with what I have on?" He asked her.
"Well son, you're going to work, not a club." She explained to him.
"Mom, all I used to wear was suits. I feel like wearing something different for a change." He gave his mother a sad smile and she knew what he meant. All the suits he had were worn around Kikyo. He didn't want to feel sad again.
"Well in that case, you look…..hot." She straightened out his shirt and laughed at her son's facial expression.
"Hot, mom?" He asked.
"Yea. Rin's giving me the 411 on the uh….slang kids use today." She said with a shrug. "I'm learning pretty fast."
He laughed a bit and gave her a hug. "Gotta go. See you later." She returned the hug and let him leave the place.
~*~*~
Kagome was all ready. She had some casual clothes, like a knee-length jean skirt [for once] and a white tank-top with a denim jacket covering her arms. She also had on her white sneakers and her hair was loose with a bra-strap headband. [I love those things!] The only problem was, she didn't want to go.
"Mom, do I have too?" She said while she was in the car. Her mother didn't trust her to go take her car, seeing as Kagome would probably go elsewhere.
"Now Kagome, don't fuss. Mr. Onishi is only looking out for your safety." Mrs. Higurashi said while keeping her eyes on the road. Let's take a little time to compare the two. While Kagome did resemble her mother, her driving skills did not come form her side of the gene pool. In fact, it came from her father, who was a driving maniac. She remembered him for a quick moment and continued to listen to her mother.
"Sango's going through with it. Why can't you?" She asked.
"Oh fine. But you better not say anything about me ok. I know how you are…." Kagome said while looking out the window.
Mrs. Higurashi chuckled a bit. "What do you mean by that Kagome?"
"Oh don't play dumb mom, you know that you have been trying to get me a boyfriend for a long time and the instant I get close to a boy you think I want to marry him." Kagome was remembering all the times her mother did that while speaking.
"Ok," she sighed, "I won't say anything."
They finally arrived at the Onishi house and Kagome's mother dropped her off. Kagome walked into the house and settled her self on the couch, where Sango was. As usual, she had a slight frown. The frown she got when she knew she wasn't going to like something. She didn't over dress, probably to spite her father. She had on her jean Capri's with a pink shirt. She also had on thong sandals and her hair was tied loosely behind her back. Of course you couldn't forget the pink eye shadow she always wore. She gave Kagome her `I don't want to be here' look and she returned it. Then the doorbell rang.
Mr. Onishi went to open it. Kagome and Sango couldn't see because they were in the lounge room. Then Sango's father brought them in.
"Girls, I'd like you to meet your new body guards." He said to them. When the two emerged all hell broke loose.
"YOU!"
"You!"
"YOOOOUUUUUUU."
"Well, well, well……"
