The Bond Between Them

Chapter 2 : Breakfast

Kagome sat at the table with three places set and ready for breakfast, she decided on making sunny side eggs bacon toast and pancakes. (she had time to kill) After no one showed signs of coming down for the food she decided to go up and wake them.

She went upstairs to Inuyasha's door and knocked. "Yasha can I come in?" When she received no answer she knocked again. She finally gave up and just opened the door finding no one in the room she huffed and shut it. `Figures he's probably at Kikyo's. I guess I'll have to talk to him later.'

She moved down to the hall to Sesshomaru's door, she didn't bother to knock, knowing she was always welcome. When she entered the room she found him laying on top of his dark blue down-comforter with his long blonde tresses draped across his bare back like a curtain.

She silently closed the door and moved to his queen size bed. She sat down near his head and brushed aside some of his hair revealing a large bruise on the right side of his face and a gash across his cheek bone. `How come I didn't notice the cut last night?'

She gently shook his shoulder, "Sessh breakfast is done." She smiled as he lazily opened his eyes and gazed at her through sleep-fogged eyes. "Morning sleepyhead," she was about to get up figuring he'd follow when she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her and his face snuggle against her stomach.

She giggled he was so adorable when he was half asleep like this. "Come on sleeping beauty our foods getting cold."

"Don't care," he said reinforcing his hold on her.

"My cooking's not that bad," she said pretending to be offended.

He looked up from her lap, "no but I don't want to get out of bed."

"Oh well then I'll be right back," she was gone before he could protest. He honestly wasn't hungry but he knew if he told her that she would press him for information. He knew she'd ask eventually but he didn't want to talk yet. In a few minutes she returned with a tray full of food and set it down on the nightstand before closing the door behind her.

He eyed the food and had to admit it did look good. "What's this," he asked looking at what he thought was once a pancake.

"Oh oops forgot to take that one off the stack, that was a bad attempt at flipping a pancake into the air. Now eat its not everyday you get breakfast in bed." Kagome said sitting down with him on his bed and picking up some food.

Sesshomaru chuckled, "only you would try to flip a pancake." He picked up some food and began to eat. It tasted good as usual, he always missed her cooking when he or Inuyasha had to cook for themselves, to him she just seemed to have a gift for cooking that he and his brother didn't possess. His mood dampened a bit thinking about Inuyasha.

As if reading his thoughts Kagome spoke, "ya know Sessh I think we should go out tonight maybe to a club or something. Cylo opened back up and I hear is better then before."

"And why would I want to go to a club?" He asked taking a sip of his orange juice.

"Because it will be fun to go out and dance til we drop all the while becoming incredibly deaf." Kagome stated.

"I think I'll pass in case you have forgotten getting groped by various strange women is not something I consider fun." He grimaced remember all the drunk girls at Exit trying to get closer to him than he thought was humanly possible.

"Yeah and the last time you went to a club you went with a bunch of guys all looking for some booty, but now you'll have me and that means I get to have fun glaring at all the girls and making them insanely jealous. Well unless you want one of em then I'll step aside and she can deal with the mob." She laughed when he rolled his eyes at her.

"You have it all figured out then, I guess I have no choice." Sesshomaru said

"Of course you do you get to chose what you wearing." She giggled when she rolled his eyes again.

"Fine but I want more sleep first." He said while putting back his empty plate as well as hers.

"Okay I'll jus go EEP!" She once again found arms wrapped around her and she was pulled back onto the bed with Sesshomaru spooning her from the back. "I guess I can spare an hour to sleep.

"Just go to sleep," he said into her hair.

She giggled and just lay there as she felt him drift back to sleep. She wasn't tired but she was just content to lie in the warmth of his arms.

That's the end of chapter 2 hehe I wish I had a best friend like that.

Sess: Amber be quiet and come to bed I'm still tired and Kag left to go find the idiot
