Chapter 1

Inuyasha woke to the smell of musk; a smell so hot and heavy in the air you could almost choke on it. In the second it took him to react he pushed himself against the rock wall staring at the being before him. He hadn't noticed his situation or his wounds he only reacted drawing his sword and pointing it in the demons direction. He growled low and deep a warning noise that he wouldn't be toyed with. When his brother didn't move he finally took the second to glance around. There were rock walls all around him and no light; and yet thanks to his demonic side he could see the barest of shapes surrounding them. He knew he was in a cave due to the sounds that echoed off the walls and the feel of rock under his hand. It took him a moment to realize that he was trapped underground somewhere with his brother.

That thought alone drew his eyes back up to the elder demon. Seshoumaru was sitting there with his legs crossed. Inuyasha thought for but a second that he was praying but he doubted the demon prayed. Well he wasn't going to stay stuck in this place! Pushing up his sleeves he drew the sword upwards ready to release his windscar when Seshoumaru spoke.

“You will bring the mountain down upon us.” Seshoumaru's voice was cold but the words sounded more caring than they should.

Inuyasha stood there sword wavering in the air before he brought it down sheathing it. “Feh.” He grumped before sitting down as close to the wall as possible. He didn't want anywhere near the demon. It was unbelievable that he was alive this long. Seshoumaru had been trying to kill him yet again so why hadn't he finished it? Inuyasha had been out cold right? Seshoumaru could have easily killed him and taken the sword. He brought said sword closer to him almost huddling around it.

It was then that he remembered Kagome; his heart sped up for a moment. He couldn't smell her but she had been close enough when the ground crumbled under them. Seshoumaru had come out of nowhere attacking him as usual. This time though the attack seemed more dangerous, more violent. His elder brother wasn't holding back and Inuyasha wasn't sure why. The closer they came to the final battle with Naraku the stronger and more common his brothers attacks had become. This time had been the worst; Seshoumaru had nearly won. If Kagome hadn't sat him he would have been torn in half. The moment he felt the rush of sword above him as he hit the ground it splintered and gave way. He could remember his instincts reacting as quickly as he could and grabbed the closest thing to him. Now looking up across the cave floor he was looking at what he had grabbed. The demon hadn't moved but the aura around them had shifted. It seemed more at peace; tranquil and almost calming. It set him back; the idea that Seshoumaru would be peaceful and calm around him was preposterous.

“It is not wise to stare.” Seshoumaru spoke into the darkness even though to him it was as clear as day. He didn't even have to look up to know Inuyasha was staring at him. He could even sense the blush that ran red in his little half-brothers face.

“I wasn't staring.” Inuyasha muttered turning sideways though ever aware of his brother.

Seshoumaru let off an exasperated sigh. “You can try and lie to yourself all you want Inuyasha but I can sense the truth in you.”

“I don't lie to myself Seshoumaru so get off my back.” Inuyasha snapped standing again trying to look for a way out. He paced back and forth on his side of the cave touching the walls and ceiling where he could. He wasn't going to go anywhere near Seshoumaru and his insanity. When he couldn't find any giving's in the wall he looked over towards his brother. Since they'd been in the cave and he awake Seshoumaru hadn't moved. Perhaps he'd done this already and not found a way out as well? No; more than likely his elder brother hadn't even bothered with trying to find a way out. Why should he? Seshoumaru could easily kill him then dig his way out.

“There is no way out; we are covered with solid rock and dirt.” Seshoumaru answered in the dark as if he'd been reading Inuyasha's mind. Which in fact he hadn't. He figured by Inuyasha's little fit he had been trying to find a way out.

“Then why don't you dig your way out? You're the great Youkai; the Lord of the Western Lands. The high and might Seshoumaru! Is it too great a challenge for you?” Inuyasha's taunt was met with a growl and a hint of glowing red in the darkness that scared him more than it should have. A red glow that was suddenly right in front of his face met with a clawed hand around his throat picking him up off the ground.

“I do not have to justify myself to a mere half-breed who is a stain on our father's name.” The words were bitter and filled with anger. Anger directed fully at Inuyasha who for the life of him had been too close to the truth for his own good.

Seshoumaru had already tried undignifyingly to dig his way out. To no avail he hit sheetrock that would not give no matter what he did. He had given up and decided to wait. Eventually he would devise some way of getting himself out of this cave. He had been angered at first when he woke to find himself trapped. When he spotted Inuyasha he had stood over the passed out half-breed ready to kill him. His instincts goaded him to kill the half-breed but his intelligence told him to wait. He was after all passed out and it would be undignified to kill him in such a state. It was then he searched for a way out which brought him to where he was now. Sitting in the dark because his dimwitted little half-brother and his wench. If she hadn't have sat Inuyasha; if Inuyasha hadn't have grabbed his ankle and pulled him down with him he would have been content. Seshoumaru would have walked away from them until the next time he crossed the mutts path.

His hand squeezed around Inuyasha's throat tighter and tighter. He smiled inside as Inuyasha struggled for air gripping at his arm trying to break the hold. Inuyasha's feet struck at him waist level trying anything to make him let go. It wasn't until Inuyasha came up with a very undignified and ill-mannered kick between the legs did he let go. As soon as he did Inuyasha ran to the other side of the cave. It made him laugh even as the pain worked it's way up his body filling his senses and nearly crippling him. “You will pay for that Inuyasha.”

“You come near me again and I'll cut you in half!” Inuyasha belted out though his throat throbbed with pain. His heart's throbbing in fear added to it making the sound reverberate in his ears. His hand was already on the sword's handle ready for when his brother recovered. Seshoumaru had moved to fast in the darkness for Inuyasha to have seen it the first time. It made him more uneasy and frightened and he knew his brother could sense it and smell it. It was like waving meat in front of a hungry tiger; you knew the attack was coming you just didn't know when.

“Do you fear me that much Inuyasha? I can smell it coming off you in waves. Does it bother you to be in the dark with me?” When Seshoumaru's words were only met with silence he smiled. It was too perfect; it was too wonderful of a set-up. Perhaps he were dreaming though his dreams never were this perfect. He was never given this type of situation in any of his dreams.

Seshoumaru sat steadily watching Inuyasha cower in the dark waving his hand over the sword's handle. Golden orbs glancing over his little brothers body wondering how he had survived all this time. He wasn't much to look at; small by comparison to the demons he'd encountered in his wanders. His power levels fluctuated in situations but he never seemed strong enough to actually survive. So it surprised Seshoumaru each time he encountered the half-breed and he was still alive; still surviving.

“What?” Inuyasha's voice seemed to have broken into whatever thoughts his elder brother had been having while staring at him.

“I was wondering how you manage to survive if you must know.” Seshoumaru said his voice colder and more uncaring as usual.

“You mean you were wondering why you can't kill me.” Inuyasha taunted again but this time more carefully than he had last time. It still gained him a growl that forced him to keep himself against the rock wall. “Wonder all you want you will never figure it out!”

“What is there to figure out; it is mere luck that you survive. If your wench hadn't been there today you would have died.”

“You seem to always blame others for your own failure's Seshoumaru. It can never be just your failure; your weakness or your shortcomings.”

“I have no weakness and I do not fail nor do I have any shortcomings.”

“Yes you do even father could see it.”

“Oh and what do you know of what father saw in me and didn't.”

“You have no care, no emotions.”

That granted Inuyasha another growl in the dark; this one so low that it made his skin crawl. Pulling his sword in front of him, still sheathed he scanned the shadows for movement. His senses told him Seshoumaru was moving but not where or how fast. He jerked and dropped the sword the moment a hand touched his face. His eyes growing into wide orbs staring upwards at where Seshoumaru's face should be but wasn't.

“Should I caress you then?” The voice was way to close to his ears for comfort making warning bells go off inside him. “Should I be gentle and loving?” The hand slid down his face to cup his chin and tilt his face upwards.
The second after Inuyasha realized his elder brother had nipped his ear he shoved him away again running to the other side of the cave. The sword forgotten in his panic as he tripped and slammed into the rock floor. Scrambling to his feet again he didn't stop until he touched the opposite side of the wall. What the hell had that been? What the hell had Seshoumaru playing at?

Seshoumaru laughed as Inuyasha ran from him. He laughed even harder as his half-brother tripped then scrambled to his feet to get away. For once he had been almost completely amused at the joke towards the young mutt. It was then he decided to push his joke even further. The half-breed had left his sword on the ground so he was more vulnerable than usual. Removing his own swords and armor he set them on the ground. If Inuyasha wasn't armed for this little encounter than neither should he.

Stepping towards Inuyasha he watched his every movement carefully. He was scared but there was something else under the fear. Something so faint that Seshoumaru couldn't place it from his distance. It amused him that Inuyasha cowered in the dark as he did. It tickled the Youkai in him to no extent that he had this affect on the brat. It was also his Youkai that pushed him to play more with Inuyasha. To push things where they would never go on any usual day or in any usual place. But here trapped in the dark where no one would see or find out it was too perfect. Seshoumaru was so close to Inuyasha he could touch him and still the half-demon didn't move. Instead he stayed there in his tight little ball almost whimpering. Leaning over he reached down his touch light yet he cupped Inuyasha's face again. “Do you wish me to love you little brother?” He whispered against a white ear that twitched under his breath.

Inuyasha shivered again bringing his arms tight in around his body as Seshoumaru bent over him. The touch sent more bells and whistles off but the words were ever so sweet. It called to the side of him that wished for love more than anything in the world. He knew Seshoumaru was playing with him but why couldn't he just let himself believe in such words. It was his human side that answered that question; because he's tried to kill us from the beginning.

“Get away from me.” Inuyasha tried to make his voice sound strong and unafraid and failed. For some reason he couldn't even bring himself to push the elder demon away. He could only stand there and listen to the whispers and feel the touches. It was like every childhood wish coming true and he knew it to be a lie. The worst part was it made tears spring up in his eyes. It made him weak in the knees as he finally caught sight of Seshoumaru's eyes in the darkness. When he hadn't been paying attention his brother had moved so close that he could see them so clearly in the darkness. Seshoumaru had to be close enough that their faces were nearly touching. It was what happened next that made his knee's finally give out. Seshoumaru had kissed him! That bastard brother kissed him on the mouth so confidently that it took everything away from him including his thoughts.

Seshoumaru grinned when Inuyasha hadn't struggled this time. It seemed that he was pressing all the right buttons inside his half-brother so he decided to push it further. He decided to kiss him and see what it would do. Typically he wouldn't have dared to think of lowering himself to this standard but it was so fun tormenting the hanyou. What he hadn't expected; what blew his mind was when Inuyasha began to kiss him back. His eyes stared into the hanyou's in disbelief. In his whole life he couldn't imagine Inuyasha giving into a simple kiss. Especially when given by him. Seshoumaru let Inuyasha go so forcefully he heard a crack against the wall. He backed up to the other side of the cave sitting down near his weapons and armor.

Inuyasha slide down the wall gripping the back of his head where it had smashed into the wall. He'd initially thought his head had been cracked open but there was no smell or feel of blood. Growling as he rubbed the back of his head staring at the shadow he thought was his brother. “What was that for!?” When his question was met with silence he frowned. His brother had been playing with him as usual; it was just another way to crawl under his skin and undermine him. It had nearly worked too. Inuyasha had believed those sweet words for a moment and given into them. He'd even let his brother kiss him without reservation.

Touching his lips he closed his eyes sighing as he leaning back against the wall. He listened carefully to the darkness but heard nothing except the faint whisper of Seshoumaru's breathing. The man hadn't put his armor or swords back on but then again he didn't need them either. Inuyasha was unarmed and his only weapon was close enough to Seshoumaru that all the demon had to do was pick it up. Looking upwards he only hoped Kagome was trying to find him; trying to find a way to get him out. He could only hope she would come before Seshoumaru decided to kill him.
