InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Choices Made ❯ Chapter 1

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

I found this section of quote after I had wrote the first few chapters….It just reminds me of my story.

Inuyasha: "I don't suppose I can have both of them."
Shippou: "You two timing."
Miroku: "Well, it's a common problem between men such as ourselves. That's one thing to have both, but another to keep it a secret. For, if either girls were to find out."
Kagome: "SIT"
Miroku: "That's right, big sit."

Once again, Inuyasha had gone after Kikyou. Even though Kikyou wanted to take Inuyasha with her to the depths of hell, he still wanted to be with her. Somehow in Kikyou's twisted heart, she loved Inuyasha, and this was enough to keep Inuyasha going back to her. Didn't he know that every time he did that, he was hurting herself, Kagome? The Shikon shards was just an excuse to come over and spend time with Inuyasha, though Inuyasha thought it was her responsibility to come and fix it, and wouldn't let her forget it. Didn't he know that she was giving up her future, her family, and her old friends so that she could spend time with him? Not to mention she couldn't bear the thought of living without him. She felt her life was empty and artificial when she wasn't in Feudal Japan with him. Inuyasha was still too obsessed over that fact that Naraku had tricked both Kikyou and Inuyasha, and the fact that he felt he had to protect Kikyou and dedicate his life to her, because after all, she had given up her life for him.

“Miroku. Sango. Shippo. I'm going home to stock up on supplies. It will also give me time to catch up on school work. Hopefully Inuyasha will be…back by the time I return. Any requests?” Kagome asked while walking to the Bone Eater's Well.

“Hey Kagome…Are you leaving because of Inuyasha again?” asked Shippo in his knowing way. He was young, but somehow could understand the emotions and reasons that made the grown-ups act the way they did.

“Inuyasha is a lucky man” sighed Miroku. “Two lovely ladies who want him…of course, one does want to take him to hell with her, but that's not the point.”

“Hey. Inuyasha aside. I'm going back. Do you guys want anything?”

“Nothing special. Bye Kagome” they replied.

Into the well jumped Kagome. Now she could have a bath, relax, and maybe catch up enough to pass her next test/exam with a decent grade.

As she climbed out of the well she called “Souta, Mama. Grandpa. I'm home”
Then walked into her home that was always so welcoming…unlike that Inuyasha who always complained about her being away so long, but yet ran away to Kikyou whenever the chance permitted.

“Hi Kagome” everyone greeting with Souta adding “is brother Inu with you?”

“I don't think he'll come this time…he's on an errand of his own right now. I'll probably be going back before he gets done with it anyways” replied Kagome faking nonchalance. “Besides, everyone could use a rest from fighting demons and looking for the shards. I am looking forward to a long, hot bath, Mom's yummy food, and going to school and seeing my friends again.”

With this said she dropped her pack into her room and proceeded to soak herself in a warm bath that she had been dreaming about since she last had gone back to the Feudal Era. Next was sleeping in a real bed-not in the wild like Inuyasha always liked to do. A nice comfy bed…sleep came quickly for her.

“Inuyasha has done it this time, hasn't he? Because of him, Kagome will not want to come back. Why must Inuyasha be so dumb?!”

“Shippo. Calm down. Kagome is very forgiving, and will come back.” Miroku sighed. “Though it would be better for both of them if Inuyasha would realize that Kikyou is dead, and he can't be with her, and confess his feelings for Kagome.”

“Why Miroku” replied Sango. “That sounds so unlike you.”

“You think so” coyly stated Miroku as he came closer to Sango.

Before Sango could reply, she felt Miroku's hand happily massaging her butt. She admitted to herself that she knew this had to be coming, but damn that Miroku and his hand! Her anger flew to her hand and expressed itself in a hard, solid slap across Miroku's face. She stormed off to Kaede's village with Shippo, and finally Miroku following behind. Of course, Miroku had a huge smile on his face along with a red hand print.

Kagome had jumped into the Bone Eaters Well, while her companions had talked a while. The monk with the wind tunnel had been slapped, then the demon slayer, fox, and monk had proceeded to the village.

What was so interesting about this well? Why was that strangely dressed Miko that Inuyasha was hanging around with always jumping into this well and disappearing to? They always stayed away for a few days in it. Where did it lead to if it led anywhere?

This would be the day that he, Sesshomaru, would find out.

“Jaken. Rin, Ah and Un, and you will return to the castle and wait for me to return.”

“Yes Sessohomaru-sama” replied the toad-like demon.

“You will come back quickly, wont you Sesshomaru-sama? Why are you going after Kagome? Will you miss Rin when you are gone?” Rin asked with all of her child innocence, and in a rush.

“Don't bother Sesshomaru-sama with your questions you ungrateful human” spat Jaken. “You're lucky h-…”

Jaken stopped talking when he saw Sesshomaru's cold smile. Sesshomaru-sama's smile meant he had shortened his life by another hundred years or was going to have new bruises very soon.

Sesshomaru smile was because of something else. Rin, in her innocence and simply joy had awakened a more emotional side that included caring and happiness instead of just anger and malice. Plus, the fear Jaken always showed when Sesshomaru smiled had become amusing he found.

Into the well he jumped. Purple and blue streaks surrounded him. Seconds later, he found himself in the well with no where to go, but up and out of the well. That was a short experiment. This well leads nowhere.

As he jumped out of the well, he noticed that there was now a building, some sort of shrine, built over the well. He walked up the stairs and when he opened the doors, he did not see the forest, Rin, and Jaken as he expected, but more buildings-strange looking buildings, and tall metal trees that had no branches or leaves stretching up in the distance.

He headed toward the weird building, which must be where someone must be. He would now find out what had happened. He opened the door and was greeted by a young human dressed even more strangely than Inuyasha's Miko staring at him.

“Brother Inu?” asked the strange boy. “Kagome, I think Brother Inu is here, but he looks different…and older”

“What are you talking about Sout-a..” said the Miko as she came bounding down the stairs. “Sesshomaru. What…why…how are you here?”

Surprise, or was that horror was written over her face. No need to deal with this human. This was a strange looking place, and he wanted to examine it further.

Coldly he glanced at the humans then went through the rooms carefully looking at everything. There were so many items scattered everywhere with no apparent use for them. This place had more tables and chairs then he believed his castle had in it. There was an older human woman in what must have been the Kitchen.

“Inuyasha. You have changed. Kagome said that you were on some errands and that we shouldn't be expecting you. Would you like to stay for supper?”

Who was this woman? She did look somewhat like Kagome. It must be her mother. There were interesting smells around here. To learn more about this weird place, he would stay. First though, he would have to correct this. He was not to be compared and thought to be his disgraceful hanyou brother.

“I am not the hanyou Inuyasha. I am a full youkai and lord of the western lands. My name is Sesshomaru. I have decided to stay here and learn about this strange place with these strange objects and strange smells.”
