Chapter Twenty: Future Weddings

Sesshomaru pulled back from the kiss and just stared at Kikyou. What was appropriate to do now? Should he just walk away, or should he say something? Should he make plans to wed Kikyou or…what was he suppose to do?

Rin ran up and hugged his legs. “Umm…Sesshomaru-sama…you are suppose to ask Kikyou-sama to marry you now…” Rin whispered.

“Kikyou…will you marry this Sesshomaru?” asked Sesshomaru while thinking `Kami…that sounded so unlike me…but this woman can accomplish strange things.”

The big “date” had come and passed. Finally Inuyasha should relax. Kagome was back with him in Feudal Japan where things made sense…at least more sense then they did in her time. Miroku was still a hentai-probably due to a few too many bumps to his head…or maybe he was dropped on his head as a child…how could someone be so perverted-Shippo was still his annoying self-however…Sango seemed different. She seemed nervous around Miroku…that shouldn't be though; she could easily beat him up any time of the day, and had easily taken care of the lecherous monk many times before. Maybe Kagome knew something about this.

Well…they were back in Feudal Japan, but they were with everybody. Kagome doubted that Inuyasha would show any type of feelings around the others…he had a hard time showing them when it was just the two of them and/or when everyone was sleeping. Sango also seemed to be acting weird…she seemed to be peeking at Miroku and blushing more…well, the sooner they got on the road, the sooner she could make an excuse for a bath and get Sango talking.

`I better go find Kaede and see what the new rumors are and where the demons seem to be attacking now.'

“Inuyasha. Just the man..er…person…I wanted to see. There are a few demons I need help with.”

“Miroku. Why did you have to wait for me to get back to take care of them. Also, Kaede or any of the villagers haven't said anything about demon attacks. Is something going on? And you better not ask me about Kagome!”

“No…actually…well…the demons are my own inner demons. I can't get over my fear of talking to Sango about marriage.”

“Kagome is better with stuff like that. Go talk to her.”

“Kagome talks to Sango a lot, and if Sango finds out…I think I'm more afraid of rejection from Sango than my wind tunnel sucking me up.”

`The suspense is killing me. I have to find out now.' Kagome gave up looking for Kaede and started looking for Sango. Maybe she is in Kaede's hut. She walked towards the hut. She thought she started hearing voices…Shippou's and Sango's in fact.

“Are you sure you heard Miroku talk about marriage? With me?”

“Uh…Sango? Let's take a bath before we leave.”

Sango gave her a guilty look, then looked at Shippo.

`Maybe she didn't hear anything…she mentioned a bath, and those soaps she brings back are nice…'

“Ok…just let me get my things, and you can get yours.”

Kagome couldn't keep the smile off of her face. She was almost bouncing as she was walking. Sango seemed quiet. Kagome guessed that Sango was going to ask her about it, yet Sango seemed like she wanted to ask something herself.

“We're here” Kagome announced. They started to undress, then immersed themselves in the water.

“Sango….so…I walked in and heard something about marriage…so…did Miroku ask you finally? What's going on? Why are you talking to Shippo about it…oh…are you going to ask Miroku?

“Um…before we talk about me, can we talk about you and Inuyasha? You finally did kiss, right? What else do you guys do?”

It was Kagome's turn to turn red. “Well…we do what most couples do…we went on a date, and I guess we do kiss…here and there. But he also is more considerate now…he actually lets me do my homework in peace without fidgeting around, and he will listen to me. He tells me what he is feeling more often.”

“I overheard you and Shippo…what's the deal with you and Miroku? He really does like you. He would do anything to make you happy.”

“I know…but with you and Inuyasha now ready to wed…I am just a little bit afraid that he will still be a hentai, and already now I can't stand to watch him flirting with other girls. Also, with the promise of me marrying him…he'll be…touching or trying to touch me more than he already does. Then he will also want to have children right away, but we have to destroy Naraku first and save Kohaku.”

“Well…there are methods for birth control so you could put off on having kids, and I'm sure if you talk to him, he will behave.”

Sango's face turned a wonderful shade of red, and she looked down. Kagome thought Sango was considering the fact of kids and why she would need to use birth control.

“One more question Kagome…what is it like to kiss?”

“How do I get Sango to say `yes' to marriage? How did you get Kagome to agree? How did you guys get around to kissing more?”

Inuyasha looked like he was going to have a panic attack and bolt.

“Ummm. I almost died and she cared for me and was there when I awoken.

They were going to get `married' but who was going to perform the actual ceremony? Sesshomaru would not settle for anyone; least of all a normal human. No demon would do it either…most demons did not marry. Even Sesshomaru's father did not marry Inuyasha's mother, though the demons knew there was a bond, and was not to touch the human…while the Great Inu was still alive. Inuyasha's mother had to stay with the humans due to their knowledge of human medicine, then she had to stay because the no one else could care for her with Sesshomaru's great father's death. Kikyou would stay with him. For the marriage though, Sesshomaru did know a few people who would be acceptable to do the marriage. He originally let them live because he thought them not worth his time or effort to kill. Who would have thought that he would later actually require services of one of them?

“I have a person in mind to do the ceremony, but I do not know all the details of the marriage, and what I am required to do, nor any other traditions of hu…that you need or want to do.”

“I'm not one much for tradition. Let's just go visit this acquaintance of yours and this person can do the marriage ceremony however it seems fit.”

They made quick work getting to the strange woman. Her powers were not demonic, nor holy, but she did bond people together. When they found her, she said she would wed them, but their bond would not be like a human/human bond, nor like a demon/demon bond. A human/ demon bond was not like anything either of them was used to and each human/ demon bond was different, so there was no telling what would happen between the couple now there. Also, a miko/ demon bond would produce more surprises than a normal human/ demon bond.

They were told to stand across from each other and hold hands. The woman started to chant, and different glows started to surround each person; a red-maroon surrounded Sesshomaru, while Kikyou was surrounds by a green one. As the speed and volume of the odd woman's chanting grew, the couple's auras grew and started to surround each other, then intertwined and started to swirl around both of them. The woman's chanting started to slow and decrease in volume, and as the speed of the words decreased, so did the dancing of the auras, until they were very faint. She then told them to chant with her, and take a step towards each other. Their auras flared up again as soon as their feet landed next to each other, then disappeared completely.

“I have finished with my part of the ceremony. I have started the bond, but only you two now can make the bond stronger. That is yours to figure out how to do. I cannot tell you how because each couples' is different. You must leave now.”

HigherBeing: Cool! I'm on a favorite's list! I was planning on at least finishing this story although sometimes I'm not too sure I can. I have a tendency to write myself into a corner.

J-love: Well, you know that I think I have A.D.D., so that would explain the jumping around a lot. Also, I have a problem focusing on a situation too long. I blame television. I actually wrote a paper about that…
