Chapter Twenty-One

Traveling Again

 

Inuyasha was listening to Miroku rattle off reasons why he wanted to marry Sango and also the many reasons why he was so scared to ask her and the reasons why he was afraid of her. Miroku started saying how stupid he was when Inuyasha smelled something.

 

“Oi. Baka. Sango and Kagome just came back from a bath from the smell of it. Also, they are giggling and I think I heard your name mentioned. Why didn't you know about this bath? You usually know about their baths and spy on them. I could have had an excuse to spy on Kagome…saying that I was watching you making sure you weren't' spying.”

 

It seemed that speech got Miroku out of his panic attack. “Why Inuyasha…by the sounds of it, it sounds like you aren't such a cold fish after all and somewhat of a pervert yourself. It seems that I have made too much of an assumption of what you have done with Kagome. Apparently, as Shippo says `you haven't gotten very far'.”

 

Miroku walked up to the girls with a few large lumps on the head. “My lovely Sango, I am sorry that these lumps were not given to me by you. It seems Inuyasha has taken away the honor of beating me to a pulp that I leave for you to do.”

 

Kagome walked up to Inuyasha. “Why did you beat up Miroku?” asked Kagome. Inuyasha whispered something into her ear.

 

“Sango!” Kagome yelled over to her friend. “KILL THAT MONK!”

 

“Hoshi-sama…what trouble did you cause this time?”

 

“I did nothing. I just stated a simple observation to Inuyasha…actually; it was an observation that Shippo once made a long time ago.”

“Master Inuyasha! Master Inuyasha!”

 

Myoga jumped onto Inuyasha and started sucking his blood before he was promptly smashed.

 

“What is it this time Myoga? You already told me abou…” Inuyasha looked over at Kagome. “Oi! What do you need flea?!”

 

“I came to tell you some…disturbing news. Sesshomaru and Kikyou are wedded!”

 

“Ha! Sesshomaru marry? I think you have been squashed a few too many times. My brother hates humans and Kikyou wouldn't be stupid enough to marry him. You need to get your sources checked flea!”

 

By this time, Sango as well as Miroku had joined and heard about Sesshomaru and Kikyou also.

 

“Doesn't Sesshomaru hate humans? When did he develop feelings for Kikyou…for that matter, how could he develop feelings for Kikyou? He's been chasing after Kagome for some time after all” pointed out Sango.

 

Kagome looked at Inuyasha, then at Sango. Sango gave her an encouraging smile, but how did Inuyasha feel about this? She knew that Inuyasha has finally admitted to love her, but how did he feel about his last lover now married to his brother-the family member that he hated and considered as much as an enemy as Naraku. What she found even more interesting is that Sesshomaru had actually married a human. Did demons even really marry?

 

“Inuyasha? I think we should go and see if Sesshomaru really did marry Kikyou…”

 

“And give that bastard a chance to try and take you back? I think not! On second thought, a chance to shove my Tetseiga up his ass and gloat about how I won you…Also, I don't really believe Myoga about Sesshomaru and Kikyou together. No one would marry Sesshomaru especially since he acts like he has a stick shoved up his…”

 

“It seems as if Inuyasha has agreed to go Kagome. Do you want Sango and me to travel with you?”

 

“We always do. We don't know how long it will be anyway. The more, the merrier.”

 

Kagome didn't see Inuyasha scowl at the last comment.

`We have to figure out how to make the bond stronger? Maybe I should have just found someone else…someone who could have completed the bond' thought Sesshomaru with a scowl that almost showed.

 

“Anything wrong Sesshomaru?”

 

Sesshomaru looked at Kikyou. Even though he didn't show emotion, Kikyou seemed to know how he was feeling. Maybe due to the partial bond from the ceremony. “I am thinking about that bond. I rather have it be completed then not. At least with a completed bond I would be able to protect you better and rescue you faster if someone tried to take you away or kill you, as they have done with Rin in the past.”

 

“Sesshomaru…I am a miko. I think I can protect myself perfectly fine. I've done well without you this long, and I've protected the Shikon Jewel from a countless amount of demons. Surely I can protect myself if I have protected the jewel. You shouldn't worry about it anyway. We will complete the bond in due time. Let's just worry about spending time with each other now. Oh. I was wondering, when would you like to start having our own kids? You already have Rin, and I'm sure she would want a little brother or sister soon…”

 

Sesshomaru looked at her. Kikyou had to notice that his face was starting to get red. `Hmmmmm' thought Kikyou. `The stoic Sesshomaru can get embarrassed. I can have more fun with this in the future.'

Their group was traveling through the woods again. `Kagome just had to have the bright idea of them all traveling together. This didn't involve Miroku or Sango, so why did they have to come. Alone time with Kagome would have been nice' thought Inuyasha grudgingly.

 

“Let's play that game rock, paper, scissors again. You know like we did that one time we were in the forest…where if we win we get to take more steps than you.”

 

“You liked it? Ok. Miroku and Sango. Do you wanna play it also?”

 

“I'm fine with it…What about you Miroku?”

 

Miroku smiled. “I would love to play that game again. Care to lose with me Sango? Maybe we will become so far behind again, that we won't be able to see Inuyasha and Kagome. Hmmmm. Inuyasha…is that your plan? Have Sango and I lose so many times that you and Kagome can be all alone?”

 

`How does that monk figure me out?' though Inuyasha. “Keh! You humans get so bored so easily, I just thought a game would…keep you occupied so you guys wouldn't think about resting or eating anytime soon. You hentai monk.”

`I win' thought Inuyasha. They had started playing the game, and already Kagome and he were quite far in the lead. They were coming to a hill and if they won two more games, they would be over the hill where Sango and Miroku couldn't see them, and he could sneak a few kisses with Kagome.

 

The Kami must have been on his side because they got over that hill.

 

“Oi. Kagome.” Inuyasha whispered. His cheeks started getting a little redder. “Since we really haven't gotten to spend any time together without a certain hentai monk's eyes watching our every move, I was wondering if I could steal a few quick kisses.”

 

“You planned this” Kagome whispered back with a smile. “You are smarter than you look…also more conniving.” She gave him the few kisses that he and she both desperately wanted to share. “When will we be going back to my time for our next date?”

 

“Do you really want to go on another one of those?! Those clothes were awful.”

 

“Well…I was thinking of staying at home this time and watching a movie.” She looked at him through her eyelashes. “You also know that we don't have the watch the movie the whole time…”

 

“What would we be doing instead of watching…oh…oh…” Inuyasha was about to give Kagome another kiss.

 

“Uh hmmmm.” Miroku coughed and he and Sango walked up to them. “We have been waiting to get on with the game and calling for guys for quite some time now. I can see why you were so insistent on this game Inuyasha. You just wanted to get away from us. I'm a man also and I could understand if you wanted some alone time. All you had to do was say something and I would be happy to entertain Sango alone while you and Kagome traveled somewhere to continue-“

 

“Finish that sentence and you die monk!”

 

“And how were you planning on entertaining me while Kagome and Inuyasha were away monk. Chose your words carefully…”

 

“Why my beautiful Sango, you misunderstood my use of words.” Miroku slowly scooted closer to Sango. “While they were getting closer to each other, we could be talking and working on getting to know each other more.” Miroku's hand found its way to Sango's butt.

 

“Instead of working on getting to know each other, we could be working on fixing that hand of yours not knowing my butt as well as it does!” Sango spat while grabbing her Hiraikotsu off her back and preparing to throttle Miroku with it.

 

“Sango, before you do that shouldn't we find Inuyasha and Kagome first?”

 

“What? They are gone?”

 

Miroku ran off with Kagome and Inuyasha standing right where they were before, staring at the retreating Miroku.

 

“Come back here you monk!” yelled Sango well giving chase.

 

“Should we run after them?”

 

“Keh. Sango will catch him soon. Plus, that monk just allowed us to have some free alone time.”

 

Kagome smiled. “Should we thank him later?”

 

Inuyasha didn't answer. He was too busy bending down to give Kagome the proper kiss she deserved.

 

 

 

Sorry the chapters have been so slow in the coming, but Fauna left me for some time. School also got in the way…damn that chemistry! This semester looks like I'll actually have some free time, so I'll try to update more.

 

Is anyone else starting to have Inuyasha withdrawal? Cartoon Network is showing Inuyasha only one day a week now, am I correct? That's why I love my computer so much! Thank you computer for storing Inuyasha episodes and thank you Christmas for Inuyasha DVD's.

 

 

 

Lipsaflapping: I'm glad to know I'm not the only one staying up until late hours reading fanfics. Also, I never thought mine would be one of them! I'll try to be quicker with the updates now.

 

J-Love: you liked the marriage? I found it to be kind of like the part where Kikyou became human with the merging and the glowing. As for the pace, I though it had kind of slowed down some, but I'm glad you still like it. I'm on another's fav list! Yay!
