Welcome back from now on I'm promising longer chapters but in turn less updates. Anyway this chapter forward you'll see why I put supernatural in the genre thing. Stay faithful reader your gonna love this fic.

It was night and shippo and katsuki were at an abandoned shack in the middle of the plains. It's been a couple of hours since katsuki discovered shippo's identity, and oddly enough she was taking it quite well. “So you're trying to find out why you did all those things and to find out your going to where this naraku person was killed?”…“that's everything in a nutshell.”…“well now that's out of my system lets get to sleep” shippo rolled out his sleeping bag. Katsuki rolled hers right next to shippo's. Shippo looked at her and said “please we aren't that friendly.” She smirked in an obviously playful fashion and made her bed across the room. Soon they were asleep.

 

Shippo did something he had not done in six years. He dreamed. He was in the middle of an endless field with cherry blossoms raining from the sky. Unlike in most dreams he was completely in control of himself. A disembodied voice of a woman rung throughout his mind. It spoke “it has begun young one”…“what is begun?”…“a great many of things that will be revealed in time child” the voice seemed familiar but could not place whose voice it was. “Who are you?”… “All in good time young one you are not ready for anything that is to come” the last thing he heard was the voice echoing though his mind “all in good time.”

 

He awoke with a start. It was near dawn and katsuki was still asleep. He strode outside for some fresh air and to think. What was up with that dream? Whose voice was that? And what was that place? The sun rose and katsuki woke from her slumber. She saw shippo outside “your up early”…“just wanted to see the sunrise” he lied, he didn't want her worrying over him about a dream. She looked unconvinced, but she didn't press the matter further and began to make breakfast.

They resumed traveling after their meal. The trip was uneventful with the occasional traveler heading in the different direction. They asked if there were any villages in that direction. They answered that there was a temple there that was accepting travelers. They continued on. Shippo noticed dark clouds in the coming in. “we'd better get to that temple it looks like its going to rain”.

 

The temple was an impressive sight to say the least. It was built almost like a fortress with walls surrounding it in a box. It had five towers one on each corner and one central one. The inner sanctum consisted of empty buildings and a priest's quarters. The temple was on the western wall. The actual temple was quite massive three to four stories high. The two kitsunne explored the temple before getting a room. And they had a massive bronze statue of Buda and next to it had a sign that said “don't forget to rub his belly!” seeing this they had to stifle a chuckle. They found the head priest and asked for a room. Apparently they only had one room that was never used on the southern wall.

 

Sure enough the black clouds brought a storm. It was massive. Its winds could pick up a small child. The rain was heavy and hard and there was no shortage of lightning. Some thing about this storm was unnatural. These winds were only found near the coast and there was too much lightning. Shippo and katsuki walked out side to see if they could see what causing this unnatural maelstrom. A voice boomed from the clouds “Shippo!” in an accusing tone. A huge stroke of lighting landed before them and a young woman's body was visible. She was wearing a read breast plate and a white kimono with red flower designs on it. She wore her hair in a long pony tail that reached the back of her knees Shippo soon figured out who she was by the halberd she was holding “Souten!!”

 

Indeed it was souten the thunder demon girl from episode 68. She had a determined look upon her face and had vengeance in her eyes. Katsuki was confused “you know this fashion statement for a girl?”...“her brothers killed my father and my friends killed them and she tried to get revenge on me because she couldn't compete with the others. And after words we let bygones be bygones” this seemed got get souten angry and she butted in. “shippo you basterd you betrayed us you've killed people I cant believe I used to like you.” She griped hetein's halberd and pointed it at shippo. You will not live to kill more innocent people”…“katsuki whatever happens stay out of this.”…“but”…“Just do it!” he glared at her and she backed off. “if you want to fight me souten the promise not to harm anyone else in the process.”…“Since when have you cared!?” she was mocking him. “I have no time for games souten! If you're going to attack then attack don't just stand there talking about it!”

 

His response caught her off guard but she resolved herself and charged. Shippo drew akumu catching the halberd two inches from his chest and pushed her off. It was shippo who charged this time. Using his immense speed ran up to her and plowed her in the stomach with a punch. A normal person would have passed out but she just got the wind knocked out of her. She charged her halberd with lightning making the ground crumble beneath her and released a huge bolt of lightning. The bolt was dodged and it put a massive breach in the temple wall. Shippo swung akumu and the vacuum blades came from it. Souten blocked all of the incoming blades say one that grazed her cheek. She charged again jumping up in the air and made a down ward slash. The slash missed but the lighting bolts that flew from it hit him square in the chest. He flew back skidding on the ground.

 

She had gotten a lot stronger than the last time we met. I don't want to kill her she doesn't know. Souten used her halberd to pole volt into shippo nailing him in the stomach. Shippo grabbed one of her feet that was in his abdomen and swung her around his head jumped up and smashed her into the ground then did an elbow drop on her. Crying in agony she released a shockwave of electricity throwing shippo off of her. She then rammed her halberd into shippo's chest going strait through him. Shippo then if only for a short while saw remorse in her eyes that she didn't want to do that.

souten as she pierced her former friend's chest, screamed in her own head No I don't want to do this! I don't want to kill him. She relized that shippo knew what she was feeling and something happened she did not expect. She saw understanding in his expression and he reached in to his sleeve ignoring the halberd and pulled out a leaf. He placed the leaf on her forehead. “Rest tortured soul, SLEEP!” and she lost conciseness

She fell in his arms. He pulled the halberd from his breast and placed it in her hands. He laid her down on the ground and sighed. And he fell unconscious himself.
