Chapter 4: Bad Memories

 

“Shhhhhhhhhhhh…Don't cry. There's no reason to be sorry. Please stop crying.” This all came from the loveable Inu-hanyou; as he comforted me.

 

“I have all the reasons in the world to cry. I feel so bad that I let you survive by yourself. For the past like 200 hundred years all I cared about after losing you was me. Waking up, each morning, wondering if all the young men; at court would ever stop courting me. No, it wasn't until my pack was killed and I was abused and branded like cattle; that made me see. Life is so mean,” I cried

Everyone else just looked on as this happened. All looked close to tears (except Miroku) at the situation. Then all of a sudden, Miroku walked over to me, took my hand (With a growl from Inuyasha mind you) and asked, “Will you bare my child?”

 

I laughed. I laughed like I haven't in years. To everyone else surprise, I pulled Miroku to me, and hugged him. “Well aren't you sweet?” I mockingly asked.

 

“Well will you?” He replied, but not without a huge glare from Sango.

 

“No, but that's so sweet that to protect the one you love from yourself; you'll ask anyone else.” Again I laughed, at the look on his face and Sango's!

 

“What makes you say that?”

 

“I can read minds you hentai.” That said; everyone bust up laughing and Miroku looked mortified. Standing up I grabbed the presents on the ground and jump into the tree Inuyasha had occupied. “Here you go my brother, these are yours.” He looked at them with wonder in his eyes.

 

“Thank you…..my sister.” I hugged my brother, happy as a clam. But one thing still bothered me…. “So what did happen to Izayoi?”

 

Even I saw the hurt in his eyes I needed to know. “She died, once the warlord died. They killed.”

 

“Gomen Inuyasha, I didn't know.”

 

“It's ok; you didn't know.”

 

“If you wanna talk; I'll listen.”

 

“I'll tell you later.”

“Ok I'll be here; just call my name; I'll be there as soon as I can.” Inuyasha looked like he was going to say something when Kagome shout that sup was done.

 

“Thank you for letting me eat with you. I just figured out how I'm going to repay you. But it's a surprise.”

 

Nothing much happened though out dinner. We talked and were merry. Everyone looked like they haven't been like this in a long, long time. Of course, I was curious to what they were thinking so I did a little mind reading. First I visited Kagome's mind. Wow!!! Inuyasha seems soooo happy. I wish I could make him happy like this. He hasn't even hurt Shippo yet. Glad that I had made my brother happy I left her mind and traveled to Shippo's. I like this lady. I hope she can stay. Look a butterfly!!! Butterfly. Food. Butterfly. Food. Food. Chuckling inside I moved on to Sango's mind. Is what Crystal said true???? I wonder… does he love me? No, he couldn't possibly; could he? I start to enter Miroku's mind then before I even finish walking though that door; run as fast as I can away from it. I refuse to go into Inuyasha's mind. So, what can I do for Kagome? Let's see? Baths; she likes baths!!! Hot baths. I know I'll make a charm to warm water for a bath. I'll need fire, Feuer, a glass ball, and a strand of both Kagome's and Sango's hair. And I have all that. Score one for me. I'll make it when everyone else goes to sleep.

 

Just as that thought crossed my mind everyone started to get ready for bed. I stopped Miroku from putting out the fire. “Don't do that; I sleep there.” At everyone else's confused faces I added, “I sleep in fire. I have the best control you can have over fire.”

Everyone just nodded. So to prove my point I stepped in the middle of the fire, curled up and went into a light sleep.

 

“Did she just go to sleep in the fire!?!?!?” asked a very shocked Kagome.

 

“Yeah, she did. She always did that.” Stated, Inuyasha.

 

“Ok, then let's go to sleep now if your done talking about me.” I mused. Everyone looked at me laughed and went to sleep. “Shippo wake up. Wake up!!” I gently shook the kit awake. “Shippo could you get me a strand of Kagome's, Sango's, Miroku's, and your hair?”

 

“Sure.”

 

“Inuyasha, could I get a strand of your hair?”

 

“Yeah; why?”

 

“For a gift I'm making you guys.”

 

“Oh.”

 

“Do you wanna talk now; that no one else can hear? Thank you Shippo, go to sleep now.”

 

“Sure.”

 

“So, what's all happened since I last saw you?” As I boiled some water and added the hair.

 

“Oh, well let's see? After you left; mom and I were happy enough until, the warlord died. For an entire year we were beaten and abused. For a year this went on; my poor mother. Any way they held me down and killed her in front of me. They whipped her like a horse, and left her to die. They tied me to a tree, like a dog, and left her just outside my reach. She died two days later. I finally, broke free and buried her. Then I taught myself to hunt. I went hungry for a week before I finally caught a rabbit. I lived in a cave for years until I was strong enough to survive out in the open. I grew strong; I fought every day. Humans hated me cuz, I was part demon; and demons hated me because I was part human. I was lonely; belonging to neither world. Then I met Kikyo. She was feared because she was so powerful. I wanted the sacred jewel she guarded. I fell for her because she was an outcast like me. I even gave her my mother's lip color. Then, Naraku pretended to be her, and I felt betrayed. We had planned to use the jewel that night to turn me human. So, I took it and started to run with it. She taught that it was that had ripped her arm open; but that was Naraku. So she sealed me to the sacred tree for fifty years. Then three years ago Kagome freed me. She is Kikyo's reincarnation. That's all that has happened since you left.”

 

Though his entire life story I had remained quiet, now I chose to cry; but only for a moment. I figured I should tell him about Kagome. “Inuyasha? She's not you know.”

 

“Who's not?”

 

“Kagome,” I said as if the answer was clear.

 

“What not?”

 

“Kikyo's reincarnation. She's the reincarnation of that extremely powerful miko. What's her name?? No, no let me think; let me think….Midoriko that's her name; Midoriko.”

 

“What do you mean???”

 

“Well she is. Why don't you sleep for a little bit and I'll keep watch k?”

 

“Ok, g'night sis.”

 

“Nite bro.”

 

After he went to sleep in the tree I finished the gift I was making. Waiting for morning; waiting to be laughed at. Great, tomorrow I transform, please be demon; please be demon!!!!!!!
