InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Enchanted Mirror ❯ The First Time ( Chapter 2 )
As he contemplated these things he moved nearer to the door of his chambers. Side by side with the hidden door that was built into the stone wall. Not even a seam showed in the cool stone of the wall. Only those who knew it was there and had enough strength to move the slab of wall would ever get in.
He paused, thinking of which door he should be entering.
He made the decision that he would check first to make sure nothing was out of place in the hidden room.
Pressing on the wall with his demonic strength he forced it to move back a few inches. There was a light clicking as it fell into the correct space then started to draw into itself. Stepping inside he pressed lightly on a knob built into the inside of the doorway, and fire instantly leapt from the torches imbedded in the walls.
Moving his eyes quickly around every inch of the room filled with dancing flames, and outstretching his senses to comb the room like searching fingers he found nothing out of place.
Turning his focus to the center of the seemingly empty room he took a few careful steps forward onto a slight rising and continued straight into the center of the room. Unseen to anyone who did not know of its existence was a space between two large stones of the floor. Betwixt them was a small unrecognizable space just large enough to slide his body between.
Flipping the door inward and dropping to the dirt floor beneath he could just make out the large underground mirror, framed in the pointed bones of demons long dead.
There was a small indenture in the very center of the mirror in the shape of a hand. As he lifted his hand towards that indenture, on the other side of the mirror another hand lifted as well. This hand was smaller, and frailer than his. A very feminine hand attached to a long, shapely forearm. While the rest of the person on the other side of the mirror was still obscured from his view by a twirling fog that was coming from within. It overflowed from the mirror and spread across the ground tracing its icy fingers across his silk-clad legs.
Closing his eyes and breathing in deeply he imagined the fog clearing, and revealing his deepest obsession. One far beyond his quest for power and world conquest.
The mirror cleared in accordance to his wishes exposing the woman -or half woman as most would put it- that haunted his thoughts and dreams. Once again, as he was every time, he became entranced in this creature. She was half human. Half fish. A mermaid of sorts. Except for her fish half being shark. Her black hair floated about her waist, delicately teasing her hips.
Lost in the wonder of the creature before him, he wished it was his fingers touching her, Running down her body. Making her back arch in pleasure. No, this was not what he should be thinking! His mind raged. He should leave. Abruptly turning his back and moving away he heard a strangled cry behind him. Closing his eyes tightly to hide the pain caused by hers in him. Slowly and strainfully he turned towards her again.
Her brown eyes glittered in a desperate despair. Having to fight back a whimper Lord Sesshomaru approached her once more. Golden eyes clashing with dark shining orbs, unable to escape. Moving forward he placed his hand with hers again wishing there was no mirror to separate them.
Closing his eyes and giving into the fantasy, he composed the image of his hand moving through the mirror. Allowing him to run his hands down her silky skin. To cup her breasts in his hands. To entangle in her hair. He imagined sliding his tongue across her lips, silently entreating entrance into the crevices of her mouth capturing her heart in a passion filled kiss.
Eyes snapping open he mentally berated himself for such thoughts. This Sesshomaru would not give in to this creature. He still could not understand why his father would leave this for him.
Sighing deeply he looked once more into her eyes. The one thing he wanted. The one thing he could never have. They would forever be separated from eachother because of what she was. She was only a mirror, reflecting everything he had ever wanted. He couldn't help but wonder if his father only gave her to him as some kind of cruel joke. Punishment perhaps for his defiance. A torture that he could never escape. One that he didn't ever want to escape.

Sliding the door to his room closed behind him Lord Sesshomaru contemplated crying. He bit the urge back. She had looked deep into his eyes. Then she had said his name. She had actually said his name. It was the first time she had ever spoken. And the feeling it had given him. In that moment he had realized just how deeply he was starting to feel for her. And that made her a danger to him.
So he had done it. There was no other way. He had reached out and tried to caress her face, but... he could not. So he drew back his fist and attempted to destroy the barrier between them. To punish the mirror for its cruelty. And just like that his world shattered. And he was the one who destroyed it. In his rage for not being able to touch her he had destroyed her. It felt like his heart would crumble at any second. He felt so weak and heavy. He couldn't even lift his head up. He didn't even notice when he had turned and left.
And now here he was using his door to hold him up for fear his quaking knees would not. There was no other way to put it. He just felt so...Defeated. His chest was tight. A lump in his throat was blocking his breath. He truly tried not to, but in that moment, for the first time in his life, Lord Sesshomaru, who was feared by all, cried.
