Shock fills every occupant in the room except Kagome and Shippo at the sight of Sesshoumaru's revealed demon features. Never in their wildest imaginations would they have expected to see the sight before them. It is hard for any one to comprehend how Takaitaro, a `mutant', can possibly be of such high stature in society and keep his secret from everyone, even from Xavier.

Seeing the shocked and then confused looks on everyone's faces, Sesshoumaru with out asking already knows they all think he is a mutant. Slightly peeved to be thought as a mutant, Sesshoumaru decides to correct that mistake. Speaking once again, he snaps the awed mutants from their shocked state. “If you are thinking I am a mutant then you are wrong. I am a demon.”

“What are you talking about? Sure there are people who call us mutant demons, but why would you even call your self that? Besides there are no such things as real demons, so you should not call your self one. It is the humans fault for making up such nonsense.” Oro yells out.

Due to her more introverted nature, Oro have seldom trained together with the whole group in the mornings. Since she was not present in the morning training session, she was not there to witness Takaitaro's wrath that everyone else has experienced.

Sending a very cold and threatening glare towards Oro, Sesshoumaru silences her. “As I was saying before I was interrupted, I am not a mutant. I am not even the slightest bit human. Shippo and I are both demons. He is a 500 year old fox demon and I myself am an 800 year old dog demon.”

Annoyance clearly lacing his every world, “You all also have demon blood in you. Your abilities do not come from any sort of mutation that is just some non-sense you humans came up with. Mutants as you refer to your kind are the result of intermingling of demons and humans for centuries. Your demon blood has thinned out for so many centuries that you have only inherited a small amount of traits that lay dormant for most of your life unless triggered by moments of intense emotion.”

As everyone stare blankly at Sesshoumaru, confused at the newly given information, Hank excitedly scribble notes down on his note pad on the origin of mutants to study later.

“This enemy lurking in the shadows is also a demon. As of now his primary target is Kagome. To fight this threat all of you will be training your demon abilities so you can properly control it, unlike your pathetic attempts now.” Sesshoumaru says coolly.

Xavier, having been silent for the whole time finally voices his thoughts. “How does Miss. Kagome tie into all of this? Why is this being after her?”

Sesshoumaru glances over to Kagome silently signaling her that it is her turn to speak. Kagome taking a deep breath to prepare herself as all eyes fix on her waiting for her to speak. “I am a miko, a shrine maiden with spiritual powers in the Shinto religion. Although in modern times, miko is only a superficial label for those females whom tend to temples in Japan and not for their spiritual abilities. I my self did not discover my own hidden abilities until I was fifteen. At the age of fifteen, I was unfortunate enough to encounter a centipede demon, at a sacred well on my family's shrine grounds, which was resurrected by the hidden power within me. I was dragged down that same well and taken five hundred years in the past.”

Shifting uncomfortable Kagome takes a deep trembling breath before starting again. “During my first stay there, it was discovered that I have in my body a mystical jewel with great power, the Shikon jewel is capable of increasing one's power and believed to be able to grant one wish, when it was ripped out of my body during the attack of the centipede demon. There I was saved unintentionally by a half dog demon, awoken by me on accident from his sealed sleep, from the centipede demon that attacked me. During my short stay, demons all around began to flock to me seeking the jewel I have in my possession. The dog demon was forcefully persuaded to protect me with the help of a very useful spell.”

While speaking, Kagome unconsciously lifted her hand to touch her side right below her ribs where the Jewel is kept. “On one occasion the jewel was shattered by my arrow when I was attempting to retrieve it from a crow demon. My arrow hit and shattered the jewel, spreading its fragments all over the continent of Japan. For years after that I will very frequently return to the past to hunt for the shards of the jewel with Inuyasha, the half demon I eventually befriended. Along the way we made friends and allies all around and a few joined our search group.” Upon mentioning her past friends a haunted look fixes on Kagomes features, holding an even sadder expression on her face when mentioning the half demon Inuyasha.

Pausing for a brief second, a look of utter hatred and loathing grace Kagome's delicate features. “Unfortunately we were not the only one seeking the jewel fragments. At the time there was another that wished to obtain the jewel. Naraku, a human whom became a half demon when he allowed a demon to devour his soul, wanted the jewel for his own foul intentions. We battled and raced to collect all the shards. Hundreds of innocent lives were lost and taken because of this jewel and that disgusting being.”

As suddenly as the look of complete hated came it dissipated leaving a look full of remorse and mourning. “I was eventually sent back home in the present with the completed jewel after we destroyed Naraku, never to be able to go back again to my friends. I am targeted now because they too seek this jewel that I guard.”

A moment of silence follow the end of Kagome explanations as all the information settles in. Scott breaks the silence. “So who is this person that we are dealing with here?”

Stoic as ever Sesshoumaru plainly replies. “From what we have gathered, Apocalypse used a time traveling device to go back in time. Somehow he came in contact with Mouryoumaru, who is a detachment of the demon Naraku. In the past the demon Naraku had the ability to absorb other beings and take their powers and abilities. He is also able to create new demons from himself. Mouryoumaru, being his last and final detachment, before we killed Naraku, have the same ability. I believe Apocalypse has been absorbed by Mouryoumaru. Acquiring Apocalypse's knowledge and powers Mouryoumaru traveled here through the same time traveling device. Now here in the modern era Mouryoumaru is continuing both Naraku and Apocalypse's ambitions. Are there any more questions?”

Hank being excited over learning the existence of a completely unknown race of creatures eagerly asks the first question. “Are there others like your self in hiding?”

Slightly annoyed for the off topic question Sesshoumaru begrudgingly answers. “There are many of us that are still around. Although not nearly as many as there use to be. Most demons now days have integrated into society posing as humans.”

Excitedly, Hank listens to Sesshoumaru's answers ready to ask another. Before Hank can ask the next question on his mind to satisfy his dire need to understanding and knowledge, Sesshoumaru cuts him off. “Those types of questions can wait for a later time McCoy. Let me remind all of you that this is all highly confidential information. For the safety of humans, demons and mutants do not under any circumstances tell any one or any thing about what you have learned.”

The X-men frown upon hearing this as they all disagree in keeping such important facts a secret from other mutants. The disagreeing looks upon the X-men's faces did not go unnoticed by Sesshoumaru.

Raising a brow in response to the silent group Sesshoumaru inquires, “You all seem to disagree with something.”

Although it is true that they do disagree with the secrecy, none want to provoke the very dangerous Sesshoumaru. Jean, also not being present at the initial training session, stands to voice her opinion. “If what you are telling us is the truth than the truth should also be spread to all the other mutants. It will help us understand what we are and help mutant control their powers. I believe this should not be kept a secret, at least not to our students. They have the right to know what they are.”

Shippo having been quiet through out the explanations finally speaks. “That will not be a good idea at all. You mutants are hated and discriminated enough at it is. If humans are to learn that you are not even fully human not only will you be hated even more, but demons will be hunted too. Everyone is better off staying ignorant of the truth. In fact, if you were not already involved in this problem none of you would have been told about us.”

Sensing the rising tension in the room, Xavier steps in to settle the matter. “Settle down now everyone. As much as I dislike hiding the truth, I can not deny the fact that the truth will indeed provide more violence and hostility towards mutants and demons from humans.” Reluctantly the X-men solemnly accept the need for secrecy.

“Now I believe we all have early training tomorrow morning. This meeting is adjourned.” Without another word Sesshoumaru swiftly leaves. Shippo also makes his departure shortly after telling Kagome will be gone for the night needing to check up on the Morlocks. Every one of the X-men are left with heavy thoughts on their minds, finding out they have all lived a lie. Filing out of the office they all return to their respective room.

On the way out, Rouge walking up to Kagome before exiting asks curiously. “Hey Kagome, is Takaitaro always so indifferent and cold. I swear that guy give me the chills. Just looking at his glare makes me feel like I am suppose to drop dead.”

Kagome give Rouge an amused smile. “Believe or not he has gotten better now. When I first met him five hundred years ago we would all dropped dead just for being in the same plane of existence as him. Trust me he is a lot more approachable now than he used to be.”

Rouge feels a shudder of fright up her spine imagining Kagome's description. Giving a friendly “Good night”, Rouge quickly leaves to catch up with the rest of the departing group.

Treading steadily down the dim hallways to her room, Kagome's mind is plague by the resurfacing memories of the past. As vague as she tired to keep her story it did nothing to help the memories and feelings from coming back to her. Distracted by her inner turmoil, Kagome fails to sense someone approaching her from behind until she is cornered against the oak paneled wall by a pair of arms trapping her.

Snapping out of her daze, Kagome looks up at her attacker to see Logan looming inches from her self. “Logan, what are you doing? You gave me quite a scare.” Kagome stutters out. Realizing their closeness, images from earlier that evening invades her thoughts causing her cheeks to flush hotly.

Leaning in even closer, until his nose is nearly touching hers, Logan gazes intensely into Kagome's eyes. “Is that why you push me away earlier?” Logan whispers softly.

Feeling the flutter of Logan's breath against her skin, Kagome shudders at the feeling. “No, that is not it.” Kagome shakily stutters out.

“Then what is it?” Logan growls out. “I know I have only met you for a few months, but I like you Kagome. I like you a lot and every time I try to get closer to you, you shy away. If you are so intent on keeping people from your secrets, I can tell you I don't care about your past. Just stop trying to shut me out of your heart. I know you at least feel something for me too.”

Eyes glaze with welling tears threatening to spill, Kagome weakly tries to speak, “Logan, I…I …”

Not letting her finish her words, Logan closes the distance between them, kissing her fervently. Pressing his body firmly against hers, grinding her up against the wall. The pressure against her body elicits a groan to erupt from her as he parts her lips to invite Logan into her mouth, feeling his tongue trace every inch of her mouth. Her body betrays her every thought and sense of logic, eagerly returning every touch. Breaking away from her lips, Logan continues to trail light kisses along her jaw and down her neck. Heated passion pools along Kagome's lower abdomen driving her farther away from reality.

Feeling a rough calloused hand slip under her shirt stroking the smooth skin of her stomach, Kagome forcefully pushes Logan off of herself applying enough force to send him flying into the opposite wall. Not giving him a second glance, Kagome rushes off to lock herself in her room. Throwing herself on to the bed, Kagome clutches on to her pounding heart trying desperately to calm down. Staring blankly at the ceiling Kagome thinks to herself how does she always manage to get herself into such complicated situations?

Early the next morning at dawn, everyone gathers in the same training room as before. Half of them barely awake enough to stand. As Kagome enters, Logan eyes her longingly but Kagome tries her hardest to avoid any eye contact. Right behind Kagome, arriving at 5 am on the dot is Sesshoumaru and Shippo.

Lining up the team side by side, Kagome addresses them all at once. “The first step in your training is control and meditation.” Hearing this a few groans of discontent can be heard. “We will start with meditation first. Follow what I do and let my voice guide you.” Kagome says while sitting down in a lotus position.

“Close your eyes and relax. Imagine yourself in complete darkness. There is no gravity, no existence of time, no emotions only endless drifting in empty timeless space.” After a few minuets every one settles in a trance like state. “Now that you have close off all distracting and unneeded variables do you feel a warm pulsing energy, find it. When you find it reach for it.”

An unknown amount of time pass in silence, and suddenly Jean makes a ragged gasp. “Calm down, its ok, it will not hurt you. Calmly approach it and tame it. The power is like a raging river, chaotic and uncontrolled. Concentrate and mental imagine a dam built there to slow the flow. Reduce the flow gradually a little at a time, like turning off a faucet, until it stops completely.”

After several failed attempts and many grunts of frustration everyone seems to finally complete the task. Opening her eyes Kagome commands, “Now open your eyes but remain relaxed as you are now.”

Kagome nods approvingly at their progress. Standing up from her lotus position she walks towards Scott. Kneeling down to eye level with him, Kagome reaches to take off the protective lens he wears.

“Miss, Kagome that is not wide to those off.” Scott says austerely trying to stop her.

“Hush, it is ok stay calm and keep the energy from flowing out of the dam you built.” Kagome says reassuringly taking the lens off, Scott reflexively close his eyes. “Open your eyes Scott” Kagome commands.

Everyone holds their breath in anticipation as Scott reluctantly opens his eyes. Clearly expecting to blast a hole through the first thing he sees, but to his surprise and everyone else's that did not happen. Dazzling gray blue eyes meets with everyone else's in wonder and excitement. Kagome smiles proudly at Scott's progress. “Good job Scott, keep practicing this exercise and soon you can do it subconsciously.”

Standing up, Kagome walks gracefully over to Rouge. Kagome kneels before Rouge, whom was perhaps the most nervous out of the whole group. Picking up Rouge's nervously trembling hand, Kagome slides off Rouges glove. Rouge swallows apprehensively, fearful but still clinging on to the slim hope that she may once again experience the sensations of touch. Taken off the glove, Kagome places her bare hands in Rouge's and relief fill Rouge when nothing harmful happen to Kagome.

Rouge sobs ecstatically, tears of joy flow freely down her cheeks. Remy reaching over with is fingers gently sweep away the happy tears from her soft cheek. Leaning into his touch Rouge feels the warmth and the love in the contact, smiling contently.

Kagome gets up and smiles approvingly at all of them. “We will continue this after lunch.” Looks of confusion cross the X-men's faces. Taking a glance at their watch they all realize it is indeed past noon already.

At the dinning room they are all greeted by a group of very odd people: a young child with white hair and a pale emotionless face, a woman with pointed ears and feather in her hair that is tied up in a bun and a loud boisterous and handsome man with long hair tied in a pony tail who also have pointed ears. The loud man lets out an exited yell, “Kagome, oh I missed you so much! You are even more beautiful than I remember.” The man declares while sweeping the petite woman up in a fierce hug.

Flustered by the man's loud praise, Kagome waves it off bashfully. “Kouga you are just flattering me, stop it its embarrassing.”

Flashing a toothy grin, “But you are beautiful and fitting to be my woman forever. I bet Ayame would not mind making a bit of room for a third person in our bed.”

Wiggling out of Kouga's grasp, Kagome lectures Kouga while prodding a finger forcefully at his chest. “Five hundred years and you are still saying that. Damn it, Kouga you never change, do you? And shame on you for saying that, especially since you have a mate already. Do you want me to tell Ayame you are cheating?”

“Sorry, sorry Kagome. I was only joking, chill out. I think I am going to have to start separating you from Sesshoumaru; he is a bad influence on you. Sooner or later you are going to be just like him, can't take a joke.” Kouga blurts out defensively.

Behind Kouga a shadow looms above him and a cold ominous feeling creeps up his spine. Turning around, Kouga finds Sesshoumaru standing right behind him. “Oh hey there Sesshoumaru,” Kouga says while laughing nervously. “Look at the time I got to go. I still have work to do, bye.” As fast as ever, Kouga darts out of the room in a tornado leaving behind a cloud of dust.

As soon as Kouga is out of sight, Kagome breaks out in a fit of giggles. Looking up at Sesshoumaru, Kagome comments, “Do you always have to be so intimidating?” Receiving a cold glare from Sesshoumaru, Kagome gives a sigh. “Never mind, forget I even asked.”

On the side, Logan silently seethes; witnessing the other damn wolf put his hands all over Kagome and making such loud claims. His feelings of agitation from the rejection the night before mount higher and higher. The cup, under the pressure of his tightening grip cracks and breaks spilling its content all over the floor attracting the attention of everybody in the room toward him. Discarding his broken cup, Logan quickly leaves the room to brood while everyone else stares at his retreating form questionably but some knowingly.

AN: Ah finally I am done with this chapter. I am sorry this took so long. I sincerely apologize. This chapter should have been posted Thursday night, but unfortunately I had a test to take Friday morning so I had to put this aside and study for that. The chapter actually turned out a lot longer than I was expecting. Just as a warning updates may be a bit slow for the next few weeks since finals and such are here. I have a test every week for the next three weeks. Sadly I can not promise speedy updates for the duration of summer. As soon as I get out of school I have one week then I am back in. I will be taking two summer school sessions and they are going be intense courses. I will try and keep updating in the regular bi-monthly schedule (I will try). Thanks for being patient with me and thanks for all of your wonderful reviews. Please continue to send me feedback on what you think.
