Chapter II Talk and discovery



Locke woke up at sunrise. He got up and looked in the house the let him sleep in with them. As he walked passed Inuyasha he opened his eyes.

"Where are you going?"

"Just to go outside to get some air."

"Don't leave the village."

'Why would I? I have no idea what is around here."

"Ok"

Locke was walking through the village, when he came to a large fire roaring in the center. He sat down on the warm ground. Locke saw an elderly woman appear in the doorway of the hut in front of him. The old woman came near Locke and sat down.

"You are the one Shippou found at the edge of town?" she said, "I am Kakaide."

"How did you know?" Locke asked, but then looked at himself. "Never mind. Don't answer that."

"It is alright. " she said " You will help them on their quest. I have many things to go do. I will talk to you later."

And with that she left. Then a hand touched his shoulder, making him jump.

"It is only me." Miroku said, "What's wrong?"

"Trying to figure out a way back home."

"Help us and we will help you get back."

"What kind of quest are you doing."

"How do you know it is a quest?"

"Kakaide told me I would help you guys out on a quest. Are you going to tell me what kind of quest it is?"

"Yes, I am going to tell you. We are searching for the shards of the Shikon Jewel."

"It grants power, I suppose?"

"Yes. We have some and a evil hanyou some. There are some still scattered through out the land."

"Ok. I will help you in this quest, but I will need some thing to defend my self. Do you think you could get me a katana and two daggers?"

"I will see." Miroku left with a smile.

Miroku walked back to the hut, thinking. <Maybe it was meant for him to come here. A well that transports to here. It is not by Kagome's House. Plus, with another person, defeating Naraku will be easier and the jewel search will be easier and go a lot faster. It is time to get the others up. I wonder what they will think. >

Miroku woke up the others, and a slap from Sango, then he told the others what he and Locke discussed.

"So? What do you think?"

"I think it will be great!" Shippou cried and pet Kilala who purred happily.

"He looks like he is a strong fighter. What do you think Kagome?" Sango stated

"I say let him stay. We do need to give him a weapon though." Kagome said

"After he said he would help us he asked if he could have a katana and two daggers. I think he knows how to handle himself in battle." Miroku said.

"I don't know that smell on him. But I am going to trust him. I just saw Sesshomaru take a human mate." Inuyasha said, " Plus, Naroku is getting stronger. We can use all the help we can get."

"So I can go get him?" Shippou cried.

"Yes you can." Kagome said.

"YAAAAAAHHH"

< As long as he does not make a move on you Kagome, > Inuyasha thought < I will get along with him just fine. >



They went to dinner and ate it with out saying a word. Locke kept noticing that Miroku was gazing at Sango and Inuyasha and Kagome were staring into each other's eyes. Locke decided no to say anything till he was spoken to.

Later that night they were discussing rumors they heard about jewel shards.

"I heard there was a jewel shard to the east of here." Inuyasha said.

"I heard there was a jewel shard to the west of here." Miroku replied

"Ok. Fine then. Kagome and me will go east. You, Locke, Sango, and Shippou will go west. Ok?" Inuyasha said rather quickly.

They all looked at each other, not saying a word. There were a few moments of strange silence.

"Can I have a weapon so that I can defend myself?" Locke asked

"Miroku said you asked for a katana and two daggers," Sango said while digging through her bag, "Here. A katana and two daggers."

"Thank you, Sango."

"Ok. Lets get some sleep." Miroku said very quickly.
