Chapter 1: Dawn

The sun shone over the horizon.

Dawn.

And with dawn, came breakfast.

Shippou was up first. He was starving. He nudged Kagome, but all he got was a quiet mutter. If Kagome doesn't wake up soon, I'm gonna have to try harder, Shippou thought. He nudged her again. This time, he got her to at least open one eye. Without blinking, she knew what Shippou wanted. She started breakfast. Sango woke up soon after, and with a slap, Miroku was up, rubbing the read mark on his face with his hand he quickly removed from its usual resting spot on Sango's rear end.

Shippou glanced up at the trees. Where was Inuyasha?

Inuyasha sat up in the trees, far away from the camp. He couldn't sleep. Something was in the air. Not a demon, yet not a human. Something seemed wrong. He took one last look around him, then headed back to camp, to tell the others.

Good, he didn't notice me. Siphadias glanced around, then jumped back down. He wondered where he has seen him before. Could he be…no…impossible. Siphadias dismissed that thought as stupid. Even if he looked like her, that doesn't mean there related. He quickly dismissed that thought as he pulled out his bow. In quick succession, he let off half a dozen arrows. One, two, three, four, five, ARGH! He watched as his last arrow missed the target by a few inches. Man, I need practice…He walked off, muttering about his shoddy aim and that he needed to train.

Breakfast was over. Everyone said it was good, Inuyasha giving it his usual "Feh".

"After we get to Kaede's," Kagome asked after breakfast, "can I go back to my time?" All she got in return from Inuyasha was "Feh". He still smelled something. And that something was getting closer.
