Flashback
Kagome bounced on Roxas’ bed. “Come on Rox! If you won’t spar with me, I’ll just go and find Demyx or Saix to spar with.” Roxas snorted. “Demyx isn’t a good fighter and Saix is off somewhere doing something for Xemnas.”
“That’s not fair.” Kagome muttered. “Saix is a good sparring partner too.” Roxas chuckled. “Perhaps you should go and find Larxene?” Kagome shook her head. “I don’t know where she is, and I don’t feel like looking for her. So come on Rox! I could just go and ask Xem, but he’s too busy. Do you know where Xaldin is?” He sighed. “He’s on a mission. “Oh.” Kagome murmured.
Kagome flopped down on her stomach. Glancing at Rox, she pouted. “No one wants to spar with me. They‘re too busy!” He chuckled. “Hime. I already told you that I’ll spar with you tomorrow.” Kagome pouted. “But Rooox!” He smirked and tapped a finger on her forehead. “You’re impatient.”
“Rox!” Kagome whined as she glanced at him. “Pretty please?” Roxas shook his head and smirked at the dejected look on her face. He just loved to tease his friend. “Fine, I’ll just ask Axel to spar with me.” Her eyes lit up as she spotted her ’target.’
“Hey Axel! Wanna spar with me? I’m so bored!” Axel blinked. “Rox won’t spar with you?” She shook her head. “Nope. He’s being mean again! Hmph.” Kagome pouted and Axel burst out laughing. “You should know Rox is always like that hime-chan. He just likes to tease you.” Kagome huffed. “I told you not to call me that! And no, he just wants to get under my skin.” Axel snickered. “Hmm…I guess you’re right.”
What seemed to be a dark portal appeared beneath her. Both Axel and Roxas tried to grab her hands, but she quickly disappeared. “Kagome!” they shouted as the last trace of her disappeared. “Damn. What in the hell was that?” Axel said and slammed his black gloved fist into the ground. “I don’t know. It seemed different from the portals that we use.” Roxas replied. Axel scowled. “I’ll find you Gome-chan.” He muttered and disappeared into a dark portal. Roxas did the same.
“Where am I? Rox! Axel! Where are you?” She said softly, looking around. Walking forward, she was surprised when three different weapons appeared before her in a flash of bright silver light. Reading the inscription on the one closest to her, she grasped the ryoutou and gasped. I am to protect. I am light. My name is Hikari. The other then spoke. I am to defend. I am darkness. My name is Kage. She grinned to herself, she had been trained with ryoutou for several years by her sensei, he said she had a gift for wielding them.
In shock, Kagome watched as Hikari and Kage flew up, and merged together in a flash of black light. A single, key shaped blade appeared in her right hand. Studying it, she noticed the blue crystals adorning the ebony and ivory frame. Kagome’s eyes widened as she felt a power well up within her. Blinking as she was encased in a bright light, she was surprised as her vision cleared. She was in a town, a place that felt strangely familiar to her. Glancing at a poster on one of the walls on a building, she sighed. “Twilight Town huh?” Deciding to look around, she found herself facing two boys and a girl.
The taller boy looked the closest to her age, he had shaggy silver hair that reached his upper back, and stunning aqua eyes. If his eyes were just a little greener and his hair was a little spikier and red, I’d swear that he could pass for Axel’s twin. In fear of being caught staring, she switched her focus to the next boy. “Rox?“ She whispered breathily. No, Rox has blonde hair. He had bright blue eyes and curiously spiked brown hair. Kagome glanced at the girl, and noticed that she had bright blue eyes like the boy next to her, and dark auburn hair. She could almost pass for Namine’s dark twin.
Riku noticed Kagome first. He studied her with wary eyes. All in all, she was beautiful. Bright sapphire eyes were the perfect accent to her black hair with blue streaks, she had a body to die for, and red pouty lips that begged to be kissed. “Who are you?” he asked, wondering if her voice sounded as beautiful as she looked. “I’m Kagome. I’m new here so I don’t know anyone. I travel alone, looking for my friends, Axel and Roxas.” Riku and Sora’s eyes widened. Axel? Roxas? How can she know them? Riku and Sora were more wary of her now. Kairi’s eyes brightened. Even if she knows those two, she seems really nice. “You can travel with us! It’ll be nice having another girl around!” Sora nodded, and Riku said nothing. Kagome! a part of Sora screamed and he wondered how he knew her. “Sounds interesting. I have nothing else to do.” I can find Rox and Axel easier now…
Walking toward the world exit gates, Kagome’s eyes widened as lithe, silver creatures appeared in front of them. “Dusks!” Sora shouted, and summoned his keyblade. “Jeez, and just when I’d thought I got away from these annoying things. You, idiots! Go back home!“ The acknowledged that she was there, and one even brushed a tendril like hand against her arm. “These aren’t dusks controlled by anyone that I know.“ She muttered. Riku followed suit summoning his own keyblade, and Kagome stared in confusion as the keyblade from before appeared in her hand. “Well, I guess I can put this to use. Hiyah!” Kagome yelled, and joined the fray.
The three quickly dispatched the dusks, and they stared at Kagome in wonder. “What? So, I know how to wield a sword big deal. No, we’re looking at that!” Sora said as he pointed to her keyblade. Oh this thing? It appeared to me in some weird dream. Two ryoutou merged and this was the result. The Hikari no Kage.” Riku stared at her. “We need to see the king about this. Come on, lets go.”
Kagome gasped as she saw the gummi ship. “What? You’ve never seen a gummi ship before?” Sora asked. She shook her head. “No, I’ve never seen or been on one.” Kairi smiled. “Well, you’re in for a treat because we’re going to Disney Castle and you get to see the pretty view as we go there!” Riku sighed. Kairi sure could get annoying sometimes. There‘s nothing there. “It won’t take that long.” He muttered.
Mickey stared at her in shock. “Lady Ariyu, Lord Toshiro, and the Prince Souta are dead?” Kagome nodded sadly. “Yes. They’ve been dead ever since I was seven.”
She’s royalty? She doesn’t act like it. Its as if she detests being a princess. Riku thought. Kagome sighed. “I feel Shiva’s power nearby. If you’re coming with me to the temple, come on.”
She followed the source of the icy power, and found herself just outside the castle, in front of a large blue and purple temple. Ice covered the doorway, and Kagome’s eyes glowed scarlet as she pointed her newly summoned keyblade at the door. “Firaga!” she cried, and grinned as the ice slowly melted. Opening the door, the five walked inside. Kagome seemed like she was in a trance, and she descended the stairs that at the top, held several ice pillars. Touching the largest one, a doorway appeared in a flash of blue light. Walking inside, Sora, Riku, and Kairi were amazed to see the pathway close up again. “Kagome!” Sora cried in worry. He was about to try and get her out, but Mickey stopped him. “No, don’t. Kagome has to pray to the aeons to be deemed worthy of their power. We have to wait.”
“There’s open rooms nearby. We can let her rest there.” Mickey said and lead them to a large room. Setting her on the bed, Riku, Sora, Kairi, and Mickey began to talk. “This proves it, she has defeated Shiva, and now she must obtain the other aeon spirits.” He turned to Riku. Your destiny is intertwined with hers and another that is shrouded in darkness. Once you find this other person, an evil that is more powerful than Xemnas ever was will reveal itself to you. You must keep her safe, if she were to fall into the wrong hands it would mean the end of it all.”
“But why? What so important about Kagome that we have to protect?” Kairi said a bit bitterly. She wanted to be the center of attention, not the newest member of their group. Mickey sighed. “She is the princess of the stars and the strongest out of all the eight princesses. That is why.”
“What about Xem?“ Kagome asked as she sat up. “You know Xemnas?“ Riku asked as he glanced at her. “Yeah. I know ‘em, Roxas, Axel, and Demyx are my best friends…So that’s why you’re so worried.” Kagome’s light voice carried out into the room, and she stared at them with amusement. “Don’t worry your little heads. Whatever side I’m on is my own. It just so happens that we’re on the same side.” She said with a smirk that mirrored Riku’s ever so present ‘I’m better than you’ smirk. Riku cracked a smile. Kagome gasped. “You know, if you smiled more, you’d look a lot better than you do now, then when you’re just frowning.”
Kairi giggled as she saw that Riku had a light pink blush on his face. Riku likes Kagome! Matchmaker time! I wonder if Sora would help me? “The next temple is just outside of Radiant Garden.” Mickey informed them, and handed Kagome a map. There were fourteen small dots in each world and they were in different colors. “Anima. That’s the aeon in Radiant Garden.”
“Anima? An aeon that powerful was in Radiant Garden all this time? Incredible. I’m surprised someone hasn’t found the temple yet.” Kagome laughed. “King Mickey, it’s not that easy. Only summoners and their guardians may enter the sacred temples.” Mickey’s eyes widened. “Ah, I know what you’re talking about. The rule of the summoners. It is the present rule of the temples as well. People prey to shrines for each aeon, but the only people that have ever set foot in the temples are summoners and their guardians.”
“So we’re like Kagome’s guardians?” Sora piped up. Mickey nodded. “In a way, yes you are.” Kagome clapped her hands. “Ya know, this is fine and dandy, but why do I sense heartless in the castle?” Everyone’s eyes widened. “Donald and Goofy should be doing their best to protect the castle. Let’s go!”
Goofy and Donald immediately bowed. “Its an honor to meet you princess.” Kagome sighed “Ah, you don’t have to bow. This is kinda embarrassing.” Sora and Kairi laughed. Kagome glared at them. “This isn’t funny! It took me forever to get all of the servants to call me just Kagome. Its frustrating.” Riku smirked. “So you don’t want us to call you hime?”
“NO!” Kagome yelled and groaned as she saw Riku’s smirk grew wider. “Axel, Demyx, and Roxas always did that to get me mad….” They noticed that she had a saddened look in her eyes and Sora placed a comforting hand on her shoulders. “You’ll find them. Sooner or later.”
They were all surprised to see Kairi and Sora stiffen and their forms being taken over by Roxas and Namine. “Rox! Namine!” Kagome squealed, Hugging the life out of them. “You’ve been here this whole time? No wonder I thought you guys were near here.” Namine smiled. “That pyromaniac isn’t too far from here either.” Roxas said, and grinned as he looked at the shocked Riku. “Don’t be so shocked, we’re always friends, even if we’re in different bodies.” Kagome looked at them questioningly. “Are you still out there? Cause for what I’m feeling, I can still sense Saix, Demyx, and you two, but I can’t seem to sense good ol’ Xemnas at all.” Roxas laughed. “This is just a shadow of ourselves. We’re still out there. Though I really don’t know where. Its so dark, I can’t really put head or tails of things…” The two faded, and Sora and Kairi were back in control of their bodies.
“That was freaky…” Sora said as he napped out of his daze. “I’ll say. I never expected that you would have shadows of Rox and Namine attached to you guys.” She turned to Riku. “I half expected Axel to come out, but its still quite surprising that his shadow attached itself to you Riku.” Stiffening, he stared in amazement as Axel’s shadow solidified and grinned at Kagome. “Miss me hime?” Kagome glared at him and hugged him tight. “You baka! I told you not to call me that! Jeez, you had me worried. Both you and Rox just disappeared before my eyes.” he laughed, his green eyes twinkling. “We’ll always be together here, all four of us, got it memorized?” he said and pointed at her heart. She cracked a smile. “How come you and Demyx always know how to make me happy again?” Axel laughed. “Its cause we do the opposite of what Rox does.” Kagome laughed. “Too true Axel. Do you know where you are?” He shook his head. “No, we’re floating somewhere. I can hear Demyx and Saix sometimes, and even see them, but they can’t see us. You gotta find us hime-chan, wherever we are…” He faded and Riku was staring at Kagome in shock.
“Damn, I told him not to call me that! If I find those two, then sooner or later I’ll find Rox and Axel. Knowing Saix, he’ll be in the creepiest places that he could find. I’ll start looking for them in the next world. I can’t sense them at all nearby.”
Riku mentally shivered. Having that pyro attached to me…Is that another reason that Sora and I are friends? And they’re still out there? “…Now we have to go to Radiant Garden. Lets go!” Kagome said happily.
Uh-oh. It looks like I’m going to have some trouble getting Riku and Kagome together. It looks like Axel likes Kagome too. And maybe even Roxas and Demyx. Geez. When is this ever easy? Kairi thought.
“Sora, Merlin and Cid have something to tell you.” Sora literally dragged the group to Merlin’s house. “Hey guys!”
“Its about time you got here kid.” Cid muttered and turned around from his computer. “Yes…Its quite nice to see you again Sora.” Aerith said with a smile. Popping up in front of kagome, she happily said, “Hiya! I’m Yuffie, who are you?” kagome smiled. Yuffie reminded her of Souta, they were both so happy. “I’m Kagome.”
“Ah perfect! Its good that you’re here Kagome. I have more information on what King Mickey was telling you before.”
Kagome stared at him, intrigued. “Is that so? Well then, I wanna hear it.”

Kagome felt like she was falling. All she could see around her when she opened her sapphire blue eyes was darkness. To her, it was strangely comforting. Landing on a strange, circular glass platform, she gasped at the images that were in the blue stained glass. It was herself, dressed in black and silver training gi, holding her favorite pair of ryoutou. To the left of her were the images of her three closest friends, Roxas, Axel, and Demyx, encircled in silver. Their pictures were dark, as if something evil had tampered with them.“Where am I? Rox! Axel! Where are you?” She said softly, looking around. Walking forward, she was surprised when three different weapons appeared before her in a flash of bright silver light. Walking into a garden, Sora quickly led then to the audience chamber where King Mickey was sitting on his throne. Jumping up when he noticed Sora, Riku, and Kairi, his eyes widened as he caught sight of Kagome. “The girl of legends. The eighth princess, mistress of the aeons, and the last Keyblade wielder.” He whispered breathily. Sora, Riku, and Kairi glanced at her with awe and confusion. “So that’s why Kagome can wield the keyblade?” Sora asked. Mickey nodded. “Yes. She’s the lost princess of heart and the chosen mistress of the aeons. Her keyblade is the first one that I made, knowing that she would finally come out of hiding. It was specially crafted to protect her and her family.” Kagome sighed. “I guess I didn’t find it when I was supposed to. I’m all alone now.”Mickey stared at her in shock. “Lady Ariyu, Lord Toshiro, and the Prince Souta are dead?” Kagome nodded sadly. “Yes. They’ve been dead ever since I was seven.”

About thirty minutes later, Kagome stumbled down the steps, looking tired and a bit ruffled. “What happened?” Riku and Sora asked as they walked up to her. Kagome smiled softly. “I had to use all of the magic I knew. I fought Shiva and I won.” She fell unconscious and Riku caught her in his arms.“There’s open rooms nearby. We can let her rest there.” Mickey said and lead them to a large room. Setting her on the bed, Riku, Sora, Kairi, and Mickey began to talk. “This proves it, she has defeated Shiva, and now she must obtain the other aeon spirits.” He turned to Riku. “Watch it you big palooka!” Goofy dodged an attack from a samurai and then retaliated. “Gwarsh Donald, I didn’t mean to!” The two were amazed to see a black and white keyblade destroying the numerous samurai around them. “Need some help?” She asked and faced the large body in front of her. “Who ‘re you?” Donald asked as he casted a blizzara spell at the heartless. Kagome grinned and finished it off with a combo with her keyblade. “I’m Kagome. Kagome Higurashi. Apparently I’m a fabled princess of heart and the mistress of the aeons.”Goofy and Donald immediately bowed. “Its an honor to meet you princess.” Kagome sighed “Ah, you don’t have to bow. This is kinda embarrassing.” Sora and Kairi laughed. Kagome glared at them. “This isn’t funny! It took me forever to get all of the servants to call me just Kagome.

I told you not to call me that! Jeez, you had me worried. “So this is Radiant Garden? It doesn’t seem to radiant. That castle over there really brings things down.” Kagome said, and frowned as she took in the dreary looking castle with her eyes. “No one wants to tear down the castle right now with everything that is going on. The heartless are back.” Turning around, Kagome quirked a brow at the blue eyed, brunette. “And you are?” she asked. “Leon.” He replied. Kagome sighed. “Heartless here, heartless there, damn, there’s heartless everywhere!”“Sora, Merlin and Cid have something to tell you.” Sora literally dragged the group to Merlin’s house.
