Chapter Two

Merlin grabbed a large book from the shelf behind him. “Ah here it is.” He sat down in his chair and began to flip through the pages. “It seems that your summoning power comes from your grandmother, Lady Yuna.” Kagome grinned. “I already knew that. But does that mean that Sin is back?” Merlin shook his head. “No, there is a greater evil that had taken his place. Lord Seymour has transformed into a grisly form, and now he’s out for revenge upon Lady Yuna’s family.” Kagome’s eyes widened considerably. “That wacko? Gods, we’re in some trouble if he decides that he wants to conquer the world again…”

“Conquer the world?” Riku asked. Kagome nodded his head. “Yeah, he was quite the crazy one when grandma and grandpa were our age. He wanted my grandma but she had no feelings for him. From what she always used to tell me, grandpa was quite jealous and Wakka always said that he would be trouble for her after he showed his true colors.” Riku snorted. “It seems like this guy’s another Xemnas all over again.” Kagome glared at him. “That wasn’t Xem’s fault. Just the thought of getting his heart back made him hopeful, but that hope created shadow selves of themselves. Its quite fortunate that it happened, because the Xem that you know isn’t anything like the one that really exists.”

“Interesting…very interesting.” Merlin murmured, continuing to flip through the book in his lap.

“What are you looking at Merlin?” Yuffie asked. Merlin sighed. “Ah, it seems that I’ve found a prophecy, but its most likely that King Mickey has told you about it.” Kagome sighed as she glanced at them. “You mean how Riku’s, my own and another that is shrouded in darkness are connected by our destiny and how Seymour in his new form has show up to attack us?” Merlin nodded. “Mmmhm. Exactly right my dear.”

“Geez…I always have to be the one that is in the damn midst of everything.” Sora laughed. “Hey, at least we’re not the only ones.” Aerith came into the room with a smile on her face. “Lunch is ready!” She said and grinned as everyone made their way to the dining room. “Mmm…looks good Aerith.” Sora said, and sat down. The others nodded and dug in. “Mmmm…its been a while since I’ve had a bowl of miso soup….Mmm this is good.” Kagome murmured. Her head shot up, and in an instant, her keyblade was in her hand. “Something’s here.” She murmured.

“Dance water dance!” came the voice of the all too familiar Melodious Nocturne. Kagome’s eyes widened considerably. “Demyx you better stop that right now or I’ll get Saix on your ass so fast when I find him….” Cloud and Demyx stopped fighting when they heard the annoyed voice. “Hime-chan!!!” he sappily said and glomped her. “I…can’t….breathe…Demyx!!…And I told you not to call me that!!!” He let go of her and she noticed that the other blonde haired blue eyed man had disappeared. “Hmph. Where’ve you been Demyx?” his eyes brightened. “Well, the usual, home, the Underworld, and the latest, Beast’s castle, and now here, in Radiant Garden.” Kagome sighed and shook her head. “What am I going to do with you? You start a random fight when you know that you don’t match up to guys like Saix, Axel and Xigbar.” he pouted. “Hmph. Kaggie, you’re always so mean to me.” She grinned. “You know its true!”

Sora, Riku, and Kairi came barreling outside. “What’s he doing here?” Sora asked. Kagome shrugged. “Most likely because of Xem. Or he’s just bored.” he laughed. “Nah, I’m just bored. I don’t have any missions right now.” Kairi giggled. “Nice way of proving that…” Kagome said dryly.

Riku and Sora smirked. “So what are you doing here, really?” He sighed. “I was wondering if I could find Axel or Rox, but we have no clue where they’ve been or where there’re at. He then looked at Riku with a grin. “So that’s who’s Axel’s shadow attached itself to. It fits really. You could almost pass as his twin.” Kagome laughed. “I thought the same thing when I saw him. Pretty funny isn’t it?” He nodded. “Yup.”

He felt a tugging at his mind and sighed. “Looks like I gotta go Kaggie. I’ll be back, ok?” He disappeared into the dark portal that appeared behind him and she sighed. “Well, I found one, only to have him go back to work.”

“Hey Kagome, didn’t you say that another aeon was here?” Sora asked. She nodded. “Yeah. Its Anima.” she replied, looking around. “I think I may know where the shrine is, come on!” Sora said and led them just outside the restoration site. “There was an old looking cave that had a bright light coming from inside.” Kagome’s eyes widened. “Come on you guys. I may need your help with her.”

They followed her inside the cave, shuddering when they felt the icy grip of the power that was emanating from within. They were surprised when they came to a glowing figure immersed in an amber like substance. Kneeling down, she prayed in an almost lost language, the Al Behd. The ghostly figure of the aeon rose and smiled at Kagome. “My, its been quite a long time since Your grandmother came for my aid. Your eyes have that same fiery spirit.”

Kagome’s eyes widened. “You’re Lord Seymour’s mother!” She said with a gasp. “I remember grandma telling me about you. She said you were so lonely, only wanting peace for you and your son.” She nodded. “Yes, I suppose that’s true, but I’m the one to blame for my son’s rash behavior.” Kagome shook her head. “No. Don’t go on like that. It was his decision and you couldn’t do anything to stop him.” The aeon sighed. “You’re right.” She murmured, and stared at the three behind her.

Oh god, I hope I didn’t make her go on a guilt trip. Kagome thought sadly. The aeon smiled. “I will grant you my aid.” the spirit glowed a deep purple, and disappeared in a shower of sparkles. Kagome glowed a dark purple and sighed contentedly.

“Whoa…” Sora said and gasped as Kagome turned around and grinned at them. Kairi gasped. “kagome, your eyes are purple!” Kagome laughed. “Yeah, they always glow the color of the aeon’s power after I receive their aid. My eyes glowed a bright lavender after I met Valefor.”

“Interesting, Its like you gain some of the aeon’s power after they decide to give you their aid.” Riku said. Kagome nodded. “I noticed that too. I’m quite thankful that I didn’t have to fight her this time. I don’t think that Shiva and Valefor, along with my magic would be enough to beat her. I would’ve had to bring out most of my tactics…” Kagome said softly.

Wait a minute…where are those other two…uh, Donald and Goofy? Oh well, we’ll find them again.

Riku just sighed. “Well, let’s go back to Merlin’s, we really didn’t get to know what ‘s been going on recently.”

Approaching Merlin’s house, the four were surprised to find that the door was wide open, and heartless were pouring in and out of the small house. “Merlin!” kagome shouted, and her keyblade appeared in her hand in a flash of light. Riku and Sora summoned their keyblades as well, slashing and slicing through the numerous heartless that were coming out. “Kairi, shut the door!” Kagome shouted, and grinned as she waved the tip of her keyblade at the several large bodies. “Graviga!” She sighed as Riku finished the last one off with blizzard. “Merlin, where are you?” Sora asked. Merlin came from the kitchen. “Oh dear…oh dear…oh dear! Maleficent is after you Kagome! She had her heartless steal everything on Lady Yuna’s family. You must be careful.”

“I think we should go and find Saix. He’ll have any information that we need.” Kagome said softly. Riku reluctantly nodded. “Sounds like a plan. “Where do you think he is?” She grinned. “He’s not that far from here. I thought I sensed him when we were in Anima’s temple.” Sora’s eyes widened. “The Dark Depths! He’s probably there!” Kagome nodded. “It sounds like some place that he’d go. “Come on!” Sora and Kairi said, and grinned as they pulled Riku and Kagome to the Dark Depths.

“ ;So nice to see you again hime.” Kagome’s eyes twitched in anger as she looked at the Luna Diviner. “Damn it Saix, you know that I hate it when you guys call me that!!” he chuckled. “Ah, you shouldn’t be too hasty Kagome. Maleficent is looking for you.” kagome growled. “Like I’d let that witch get me. She’d have to go through you guys first.” She said with a grin. He smirked, and Kagome laughed. “Nothing’s changed has it?” He shook his head. “Some things have, but much has stayed the same.”

“Have you seen Rox or Axel anywhere? I’ve only been able to locate their shadows, not their real bodies at all.” He shook his head. “No, I thought I sensed them one time or another, but I haven’t found them. It seems that Namine has gone missing as well.”

Kagome sighed. “Geez. Now Namine’s missing too? Who’s next? Larxene? Marluxia?” He smirked. “I wouldn’t be naming off people too soon. And I don’t think anyone would miss those two either.” Kagome shrugged. “I guess not.” Saix turned to Riku and Sora. “Ah, the other two keyblade wielders. You seem to attract trouble wherever you go Kagome, especially traveling with these two.” Kagome laughed. “Of course I do. Remember what happened at Larxene’s birthday party?” Saix nodded. “I remember that all too well. The dragoons and samurai (1) love you, and you somehow had to get them upset, just to see what they would do. It wasn’t boring to say the least.”

Riku and Sora laughed. “Sounds interesting. You should’ve gotten a luna bandit to destroy some of the things there. That would’ve made it even more interesting.” Kagome pondered this. “You know, that sounds interesting. Maybe I’ll do that next time and you guys can come too!” They nodded. “Sounds like fun.”

“You just want to see the look on Larxene’s face again.” came Saix’s emotionless voice. Kagome nodded. “Of course. So, just cause I forgot, what are you doing here Saix? Usually you’re just staring at Kingdom Hearts, and I find this a bit unusual for you. Saix chuckled. I can’t do anything that’s not in my normal routine? Getting bossier now aren’t we hime?” Kagome growled. “Damn it, I told you not to call me that!! I don’t let Demyx, Axel, or Rox, so why do you think I’ll let you?” Chuckling, he looked at her with slitted gold eyes. “You know you like it.” Kagome shook her head. “You’re just acting totally weird right now. I’m going. See ya Luna!” (2) Giggling, she dragged Riku, Kairi, and Sora back to Merlin’s. “Gawrsh Donald, I don’t think that they meant to leave us behind, they just got caught up in everything!” Donald shook his head. “Gyaaah! You big palooka, they left us here on purpose!”

“I wondered why it seemed so quiet.” Kagome said and looked at the quarreling court magician and court royal night. “Kagome-sama!” Donald and Goofy yelled, bowing quickly. Donald glared at Riku, Kairi, and Sora. “You fools, bow to Lady Kagome!” kagome shook her head. “I’ve always hated all of that formal crap ok? You don’t have to bow to me.” Donald and Goofy reluctantly got up. “O-okay Lady Kagome.” Goofy said with a grin.

“Kagome-sama, what are you going to do now?” Donald asked. She sighed. “Well, I’m thinking that we should go pay Hades a visit. Not only that, Bahamut should be somewhere in the underworld.” Donald’s and Goofy’s eyes widened considerably. “We never saw a temple for an aeon there!” Sora interjected. “Yeah, but we never looked either.” Kagome replied.

“Well, that might be a problem, but we’ll manage.” She turned to Cid, Yuffie, and Aerith. “I guess that means we’ll be going now.” She hugged each of them and waved goodbye. “We’ll visit soon okay?” Yuffie smiled widely. “We’ll be waiting!! Bye guys!!”

Next stop, the underworld. Kagome, Riku, Sora, and Kairi thought.

2. Kagome calls Saix Luna just to get him mad. His title is the Luna Diviner so it makes sense.

3. I’ve added several elements from final fantasy X, it fits quite well because several final fantasy games are intertwined within it already.
