The Future Past Chapter 2: The Journey

"Sasuke, Keisuke, Ryosuke, Saika, and Meira, please be careful on the journey," pleaded Miroku then turned to Sasuke. "Sasuke, this is for you," he gave him a set of robe and a staff that looked exactly like his.

"What Miroku said," added Sango then gave Saika a set of blue battle armor, and Meira miko garbs of white and green.

"Yes, what Miroku said too," stated Inuyasha seriously, and then called Keisuke to him. "Here, this is for you. It's a copy of my red fire rat kimono. You may find this helpful on the journey"

"I have nothing much to say besides the fact that you all must stay alive for your haha-ue's sake and mine as well. Now Ryosuke, come here."

Ryosuke took a few steps forward to his father with a tense emotionless face. Sesshoumaru then handed his eldest son a replica of his daily wardrobe.

"This should keep you safe," said Sesshoumaru with a fatherly expression then proceeded to give him a hug for the first time. "Please, you, your siblings, and Sasuke must save her. You must save her," whispered the taiyoukai in a concerned manner.

"I will save her, chichi-ue, you needn't worry," replied Ryosuke.

Ryosuke then turned and made way to the northern path with his brother, sisters, and friend trailing behind. Moments later, the group came to a stop.

"Ryo, what is it?" asked Sasuke to the new group leader.

"Someone or something is following us. Come out and show your face!" yelled the eldest of the group.

"Mrow," the bushes on the other side of the road moved and a bluish fire cat with two swords, a huge boomerang, and a bow and arrow on it's back.

"Sara!" exclaimed Sasuke. She's Kirara's child.

"When did Kirara mate?" questioned Meira.

"Not too long ago, a black fire cat appeared so we took him in and Kirara was instantly drawn to him. Then they mated, as mother and father guessed, and out came Sara as the product," explained Sasuke.

"Oh," said Keisuke, Saika, and Meira.

"What are the things on her back?" pointed Ryosuke.

"I don't know," answered Keisuke. Then he walked toward Sara and retrieved the items. "Aniki, its Tetsusaiga, Tensaiga, Hiraikotsu, and Kaitou, haha-ue's bow and arrow!"

"I'm guessing," said Saika while taking a few steps forward, "that Tensaiga is for Aniki, Tetsusaiga to Keisuke, Kaitou to Meira, and Hiraikotsu to me."

Everybody nodded in agreement, and continued the journey with Sara at their side. The group entered a forest and traveled for hours then without warning, a tremendous youkai of orange and white stripes appeared. The team instantaneously attacked their foe wit little success so far. Ryosuke attempted to give the assumed tiger youkai a taste of his poison claws, but the demon disappeared before Ryosuke could land the attack. Both Meira and Saika tried to aim their weapons at the youkai, but it escaped once again. Keisuke tried the Kaze no Kazu hitting nothing except for grass and dirt. Sasuke experimented on getting close to the tiger to deliver a hit, but was sent back to the ground almost immediately.

"Guys, this is not working out too well," mentioned Keisuke.

"Thanks for stating the obvious, genius," mocked Meira acidly.

"I have an idea," intruded Ryosuke a bit icily. The others nodded their heads for continuation. "We circle around the tiger youkai at a fast speed then we attack in sequence; for example, Kei goes first, then Meira, then Saika, and so on.

The team put the suggested idea to motion, and the youkai was down in seconds.

"Nice use of your brain," teased Saika.

"I was always the smarter one," replied Ryosuke.

"Um, ah, guys, don't mean to interrupt, but I don't think he's dead yet," added Meira.

"Mwahahahahahaha, I may be defeated, but many more of the Yami shall come after you all, my dear princes, princesses, and royal friend," breathed the tiger youkai.

"What the hell do you mean?" asked Keisuke.

"You shall see," whispered the once ferocious demon through his last breath of life.

"What was that all about? What's the Yami, and why are they after us?" fired Meira.

"I don't know, but I'm pretty sure Yami is an organization," answered Ryosuke.

"Let's forget about this for now and head for Tsuto, the central of Northern Lands," announced Sasuke.

They all agreed and hopped on Sara to get to Shinto, a town under Sesshoumaru's territory, for a nights rest. Sara flew till dusk before she reached the city, and once there, the tired crew instantaneously made way to the inn.

An inn was sighted, and in went the rescuers.

"Oh my goodness gracious," cried the head of the hotel, "Please come this way Lord Sesshoumaru, Lord Inuyasha, Lady Kagome, and your companions. Why have milords not informed me of your arrival?"

It took a few moments for the idea of the old crippled aardvark youkai thinking Ryosuke, Keisuke, and Meira were their parents and Oji-san (AN: means uncle. I know, I know it looks like grandpa but it isn't k.) To penetrate the group's skull.

"Must I tell you everything," growled Ryosuke in his father's voice.

"Why, no, milord, let me escort you and your companions to their room," stated the man.

The group went up the right stair case then turned left, and walked straight a few more paces to find five shoji doors, two on the left, two on the right, and one at the end.

"Milords and Ladies please choose which ever room you would like," directed the inn keeper before he left.

Once the man was out of ear shot, Ryosuke signaled everyone to go into the room at the end. Inside, to the left was a huge queen size futon (if possible) on top of the grass mat floors (AN: you know those Japanese floors that looks green and smells like dried grass. It was shown in Rurouni Kenshin a lot) to the right was a balcony guarded by another set of shoji doors, and a low table was set in the center of the room with a tea set on top. To sum the room up, a very basic Japanese room.

"Sit down," commanded Ryosuke.

Before the eight-teen year old could say anything, his otouto asked, "Aniki, why does that guy think your chichi-ue, Meira haha-ue, and me oji-san? Couldn't he tell us apart from the scent?"

"Kei, your forgetting the fact that we smell practically like the people we resemble with a few other aroma mixed into it. Also, because we're full youkai, do to haha-ue's miko powers. Therefore, we have a full youkai smell like chichi-ue," reminded Saika.

"I knew that, then what about our markings? I'm sure he knows that haha-ue doesn't have any marking, and Meira has them?" added Keisuke triumphantly.

"I'm guessing he overlooked," replied Meira.

"I knew that."

"Ok, we are here not to discuss how the man thinks you look like Inuyasha, but the next move. So get on with it," exclaimed Sasuke fiercely.

"Thank you, Sasuke," said Ryosuke. "Now, the plan, we are to stay here tonight and make way to Tsuto. To get there we must go through Kinta, Hido, Yoto, Kogi, and Kina. On the way we must investigate Yami because I'm pretty sure that they are the ones who dominate Tsuto, and also the ones who kidnapped haha-ue, agree?"

"Agreed," cried everyone.

"Now go back to your rooms," commanded Ryosuke accenting every syllable.

"Somebody's in a pissy mood," muttered Meira as her siblings and friends made way for their room.
