Author's note: Hey! Big thanks to everyone who has been sending me reviews. I really enjoy reading them. This chapter and the whole story actually involves Kikyou. I know that in the manga right now Kikyou is supposedly gone. I however have a strong feeling she will be back(that stupid bitch never stays gone for long ::sigh::) and have there for added her to my story. On with chapter 3! Enjoy!

Kagome woke early morning to the sounds of wildlife. It took her a moment to remember where she was and why she feelt so good. She smiled to herself as the previous night flashed before her mind's eye. She turned her head to see a peacefully sleeping hanyou holding her in his arms. She was just about to lay her head back down and ignore the sounds of morning for another few hours when Inuyasha started to move with a tired groan. She should have known he wouldn't stay asleep much longer, he was always the first of their group to rise in the morning and the last to sleep at night. Kagome knew better though then to think that the lack of sleep didn't effect him. He would probably love to sleep in every now and then if his sense of constant watchful alertness would let him.

"Kagome, you awake?", He asked quietly.

"Yes, I'm awake.", She answered back.

"We should probably head back before they start to look for us.", He said kissing her forehead.

She nodded and they both began to dress. Things seemed so unreal since last night. Everything was so clearly diffrent, but at the same time it was the just as it had always been. Kagome and Inuyasha had been very close for almost three years and even thought she could sense a change in him since last night, it was more like he was just being more outward about the more human Inuyasha she had caught a glimps of every now and then.

The walk back to Kaede's village was a silent one. Inuyasha wanted to savor the moments that he had with her before he would be forced to think about how he could possibly make his decision about him and Kagome work. He knew that the biggest obstacles were yet to come. This would be harder then he had dared to think last night.

"Kagome.", Inuyasha stopped her a few yards away from the outside of the small village,"I think it would be a good idea if we didn't tell anyone about us yet. Just until we've had a chance to really figure everything out."

Kagome looked at him for a moment, disappointment showing in her face. She knew that that was the best and most senseable thing to do, but there was still a part of her that was saddened by the voiceing of this plan. But she mentaly shrugged it off and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Not everything can happen at once. It's taken years just to get him this far.", She silently reminded herself.

"Alright, if thats what you want. But, I think Sango and Miroku will figure it out. I think they've kinda been expecting this for a while.", She told him.

"Well I guess there's nothing we can do about how nosey those to are.", Inuyasha sighed.

Kagome smiled and followed him into the village. Outside a modest hut in the center of the small grouping of homes they found an old women attending to her garden of herbs.

"Hello Kaede-sama!", Kagome called cheerfully.

"Hello Kagome, Inuyasha. You worked out your disagreement I take it?", Kaede said carefully.

"Umm... yeah, we worked everything out baba.", Inuyasha said as emotionlessly as he could manage.

"Sango and Miroku might be able to figure it out but there's no reason that old bag has to know yet. She might be mad I didn't pick her sister, Kikyou.", Inuyasha thought to himself.

"Kagome!", cried a voice from inside the hut.

Inuyasha followed Kagome inside to their waiting friends leaving Kaede to her garden work. Once they had left Kaede chuckled to herself. If they thought they could fool a trained and experianced Shinto priestess they had another thing coming. She could easily sense what had happened that night.

Kaede knew that one of Inuyasha's main concerns would be that she would be mad at him for his wavering loyalty to Kikyou, but the truth was the old pristess thought that this was the best turn of events for everyone. She loved her sister dearly and knew that at one time she and Inuyasha had been in love. But time and mistrust had got the better of them. Kikyou was gone, dead, and no witch could change that. That thing that was walking around with Kikyou's appearance and memories was not the beloved sister Kaede had known. She was cold to emotions and ran on nothing but a taste for vengance. Kaede belived it best for both Kikyou and Inuyasha to move on. Inuyasha to new life and love in Kagome, and Kikyou to the next world in peace. That was the way it had to be.

Inside the hut Kagome sat with the little kitsune on her lap next to Sango, who was caring for her slightly battle weary hiraikotsu. Inuyasha sat as close to Kagome as he dared without looking suspicious. Miroku sat across from Inuyasha, mixing herbs for Kaede to use on ill villagers.

"Kagome where were you guys last night? I was so worried when you didn't come back!", Shippou whinned in Kagome's lap.

"I was fine Shippou. Me and Inuyasha were just talking out our fight. I guess we lost track of time.", Kagome explained with a slight smile.

Shippou quitely excepted the explanation not being able to think of anything eles they could have been doing by themselves for a night. Miroku however gave Inuyasha a knowing smirk. Inuyasha just scowled at the lecher of a monk. Sango too gave Kagome a quick look confirming Kagome's thoughts that Miroku and Sango would figure out what had happend.

"It's strange though...", Said Shippou interrupting the adult moment the rest of the group had been having,"It's strange that a violant jerk like Inuyasha would talk anything out."

Everyone except Inuyasha couldn't help but laugh. The laughter died down leaving even Kagome unaware of the important event happening in her body right that moment.

"It's done.", Naraku announced to Kanna and Kagura, "It's time to put my plan into action. Kagura, I have a little job for you."

"Are you going to tell me what's happend before you send me off on this little job?", Kagura asked impatiantly.

"Unless you would like to return form where you came I suggest you learn to to control that unfortunatly large mouth of yours.", Naraku said coldly sending a wave of pain through Kagura with a single look to remind her of his control over her," Yes, I'll let you in on this little secret. A Child has just been concieved in Kagome's womb. Inuyasha's child to be exact.

" You know that?", Kagura asked recovering from Naraku's assult.

"Yes, with a bit of help from Kanna, I can sense the very moment of conception. I know of the child's existance even before it's parents. Kukuku, and I know someone who would hate to be left out of the loop."

"Is that my assignment?", Kagura asked.

"That's not the one I had in mind for you. No, I'll be taking care of that myself. Your mission is this..."

Birds chirped cheerfully in the early noon sun as a women dressed as a miko left a large castle.

"Thank you for at least trying to help my servant Kikyou-sama.", The lord of the estate said bowing,"Foolish girl trying to keep away that horse theif on her own."

"Yes, I may have been able to do more for her had I gotten here sooner.", Kikyou replyed in a rather emotionless way before turning to leave.

"Well, at least it wasn't a complete waste.", Kikyou thought to herself as her shinidamachuu brought the soul of the serving girl.

"Hello Kikyou.", said a voice from the woods.

"Naraku. What is it that you want?", Kikyou said coldly while drawing her bow.

"Now, now", Naraku said amused," Is that any way to treat someone who just came to grant you some information he thought you would find...umm...interesting?"

"I have no interest in hearing your tainted information.",Kikyou responded passively.

"Oh, I think you do. Especially concidering that it's about Inuyasha.", Naraku said unable to keep a cold smile from his face.

Kikyou keep her bow in ready stance but did not respond. Naraku took this as a sign that she was willing to listen. He knew the born again miko well enough to know that try as he might she would never appear outwardly ruffled. The women was a true miko with the poker face to prove it.

"Well, it would appear that Inuyasha has moved on from you. Just last night in fact I believe he confessed his love to Kagome who now carries his child. You would think that he would at least have the decentcy to dump you properly before he ran off impregnateing other women.", Naraku informed her trying to sound as impartial as possible.

Kikyou still keept her composer, only the anger reflecting in her eyes betraying her true feelings.

"I just feelt it my duty to tell you before you got hurt.", Said Naraku sympatheticly before turning and leaving.

"So...",Kikyou thought as she lowered her bow and stood alone,"So Inuyasha, you would rather have that weak reincarnation of me then me. You would betray me after all? After promising to help me? We'll just see about this."

Naraku smiled to himself. Kikyou was indeed a very cunning women, but even she could be blinded by her own feelings and emotions. That was the one weapon he now had against the otherwise inpenatrable shell of a human. He knew she would try something. He couldn't say for sure what it would be, but so long as she took some kind of action she would be playing right into his plan. If all went well with Kagura everything would be perfect. The stage was almost set.
