[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

SO sorry that it took me so long to update! I had it finished but than I reread it and found so many problems, then I thought that it was too short, than before I could add onto it I got a huge burst of inspiration on my other fic Chemical Reactions. For those of you who know about it, yes the new chapter is up, AND IT RULES!!!!

So check it out if you can, I feel really pleased. Well, this is where she starts going to school. Hope you enjoy the seriousness of the beginning, for the drama WILL be disrupted from now on!

Disclaimer: Ok, if I owned Inuyasha, which I don't, than he and Kagome will have already done it like a million times on national television! (Disclaimer created by kola, she's such a pervert girl! Thanx kola! lol)

~*~*~*~*~

Inuyasha looked up from his seat at the table. Kagome and Sango where headed back with their lunch.

“Wow, I'm surprised no one took our table, this place is PACKED!” Sango smiled as she set her bag down.

“Yeah, it's odd. You'd think someone would have snagged it.” Kagome replied looking around at the several people standing, walking, and sitting on the fountain's edge.

Inuyasha just smirked, he new full well that several people had tried to take the spot, but he wouldn't let them. Bad things kept happening…the last guy who sat down ended up spilling his drink all over his date and fell back into the fountain. Oh yes, that was fun!

Inuyasha listened to Kagome and Sango's conversation, they seemed rather hung up on the subject of school, it was mentioned a lot, though neither wanted to continue it. Kagome being too shy to deliberately stick it in a conversation, and Sango afraid of what to say about their haunted school. Yes, she new about the ghost, everybody new about the thing that went around playing tricks on people. Now a lot of them tried to ignore him, but this new girl would get quite the surprise.

Kagome watched as people passed by the café she and Sango were eating in front of, so many people that she recognized…passing by here almost every day. Kagome always studied people, movements that seemed planned out, strategized. The way some people walked, the way the laughed, the way they smiled. It's as if they had been planning everything. It kind of made her feel uneasy.

Sure she herself had been planning out her days, but it wasn't only to keep from forgetting about her dreams. She had wanted to see what other people saw. Wanted to know the secret of predicting what someone was going to say and knowing when to laugh and when to take something seriously.

It was like when she was a small girl sitting in her mother's room, wearing her heels and jewelry, putting on makeup. Trying to discover some unknown secret that her mother was guarding jealously from her, some secret to being a grown up. It was just so unfair that other people know these things but she didn't.

Then she looked back a Sango. She was eating her cinnamon roles and laughing as she talked about her boss and this boy who kept coming in to see her. She talked about her brother and how he and Souta might like meeting, despite the fact that all she new about Souta was that he was Kagome's little brother… She just said things at random, not afraid that they may not make sense or seem weird to anyone. Her jokes sometimes were just stupid and she said some things about her life that Kagome knew couldn't be true, but she didn't care. She had no ritual to her. No map of her life that you could just read. Everything was random and changes could be made so quickly and so close together that it almost sent you spiraling over the edge. Sango was someone that just lived life and didn't care.

Kagome envied her, but she wasn't too jealous, no. Sango was her friend. If she could be plotted out and studied than she wouldn't be much of anything, Kagome was sure that she herself had some kind of good attributes that people envied about her. She was herself and she liked it that way.

They finished their lunches and walked over to the movie theater. There was nothing but ghost movies and other horror flicks on and Sango didn't seem too interested in seeing any of them.

Inuyasha watched as the girls turned away and walked out o the mall. He almost didn't catch them in time before the door closed, than he would have been stuck in this building forever. He could only follow Kagome out. He really didn't want to have to live in such a horribly bright and happy place. It was stomach turning….if he still had a stomach….

~*~*~*~*

The next few nights were mainly just Kagome sitting up in the branches of the tree, with the boy. He had wanted to talk with her about something, but whenever it seems like he was about to start a conversation he let out a big sigh and looked away.

This last night was the day before he had to go back, school was in the morning and Kagome was going to meet up with Sango first thing. Inuyasha gave off another heavy sigh. Soon Kagome would need a lot of rest; he wouldn't be able to let her wake up in the middle of the night. He had let her sleep in these last few days and she seemed cheerful about it. Right now he sat next to her on the thick branch that the rope was tied to, his head resting on her shoulder.

He looked over at Kagome.Hu?”

“I asked what your name was. I have been having this dream for a little over three months and yet, I still don know your name…”

“My name is…Inuyasha…” He replied

“Oh, Inuyasha…that's nice…”

He sighed and they continued to watch the scene unfurl beneath them. They watched Kagome's previous dreams…they watched her first conversation with Inuyasha, they watched Inuyasha's hanging, they watched Kikyou turn and leave from Inuyasha's side to go into the school. They watched Inuyasha wait until it got dark and the rain start to pour down until he finally decided to go looking for her. They watched his pain and sorrow, and Kagome felt so sad.

Kagome watched as the boy who sat next to her hung himself, his last words escaped his lips and Kagome hugged tight onto Inuyasha as she watched herself fall into the water once more.

Inuyasha jumped slightly as Kagome's grasp on his arm tightened. He had relived his on memories for fifty years, but he had to keep reminding himself that Kagome was still alive. She feared her death and so had trouble witnessing it.

He rapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer. Their surroundings went black and all that was left was them and the tree. Kagome looked at him, her face turning redder with every passing moment. He had her pressed to his body, leaning his head on her shoulder.

“What did you want to talk about? For the past few nights all that has happened between us is—”

Kagome was cut off by Inuyasha's lips crashing down on hers, it was brief but for Kagome the kiss lasted for ages. Inuyasha pulled away and watched her expressions.

“Why did you do that?” She asked.

“You said you wanted something to happen…” He replied, staring out into the darkness.

“I meant conversation wise! Not…not that!”

“Well, too bad…it already happened so not much can be done. Not like you could stop me either.” Inuyasha was now grateful that he was unable to blush, he had no skin…no heart beating faster deep within him whenever Kagome was near. He felt safe from those emotional signals. Yet somehow Kagome's presence, her simply being near him sent a strange sensation through his being. His wandering soul gleamed and shimmered when she smiled and laughed, when she grasped his arm…when he kissed her…

He kept trying to convince himself that is was because of her resemblance to Kikyou. That it was because she was the first thing he was able to physically touch in fifty years, even if it was just a dream. Yet somehow…it didn't seem as good an explanation as it should have been.

He pulled Kagome closer to him, rapping both arms around her and settling her into his lap. The tree that they had been sitting on disappeared and they sat, floating in the endless darkness.

“Inu...yasha?”

“You have school in the morning…you need to sleep.”

“But I am asleep…right? I mean…this is a dream.”

“Your mind needs to rest…” Inuyasha hugged her to him and her eyes grew heavy. “You have school…your mind needs to rest…” He repeated. “Don't worry…no dreams, I'll keep watch.”

Kagome closed her eyes and buried her face in his chest. She new she should be scared, like she always was. In here nothing ever made sense, but then again…dreams aren't supposed to are they?”

Kagome woke the next morning feeling more rested than she had in months. She looked at her clock, 5:30. Hey, she had about half an hour before Sango came by. She grabbed her jeans and sleeveless and a towel from the closet and headed to the shower.

Inuyasha lay on her bed, beside where she had been sleeping moments before. Though he couldn't feel anything he new that the spot where her body had been was still warm. He ran a metaphysical hand across her bed spread, placing it neatly across the mattress and smoothing out the wrinkles.

Buyo came bounding in and hopped up beside him, nestling himself down onto the newly made bed and enjoying the warmth left behind by Kagome's body heat. Inuyasha felt a little envious of the cat, able to just come in and lay down, being able to relax in Kagome's real presence during the day time, while he only had her thoughts at night.

Slowly he retreated from the quiet room and walked downstairs. Souta was sitting at the table eating his bowl of cereal and Kagome's mom was busy making Kagome's grandpa his breakfast. Kagome's Special K cereal box was sitting in front of her seat with a small glass of milk and a bowl. He could hear her bounding downstairs to the kitchen, her wet hair flung over her shoulders soaking the back of the red sleeveless. She sat down and ate finishing just as Sango walked up to the kitchen door.

Grabbing her school stuff she headed out, not saying a word to anyone. Kagome's grandpa came down and sat before his plate. Lifting up the newspaper he glanced at the empty spot at the table. “Someone should go wake Kagome up; her friend should be here any minute.”

Kagome's mom smiled slightly and Souta giggled leaning his head down and grabbing up another spoonful of cereal.

The school grounds were over flowing with students, most wearing the same ridiculous outfits. Sango and Kagome walked by and several people stared and giggled, well, the first impressions certainly were going well. They passed by the popular groups and Kagome waved to the girl who she had met at the mall, the one who had yelled at her for no particular reason.

At the sight of Kagome and Sango all the kids laughed, but the girl elbowed one of the guys in the ribs and told the rest to shut up. Yup, didn't seem like they were going to have to difficult a time here. Scare the shit out of the ring leader and the rest leave you alone. Life was great.

Sango walked Kagome to the main office hall and they both got their schedules. Kagome then went to her locker, Sango mumbling about stupid luck and constantly trying to get Kagome to change her locker.

“I don't understand Sango. Why don't you want me to have this locker?”

“Cuz it's haunted! This whole school is haunted and that locker is the property of the ghost!” Sango shouted. Kagome stopped in her tracks and turned to Sango.

“I know.” She said smiling. “I've met the ghost! He seems nice!” She then turned around and continued walking, bumping into something and falling back into Sango. (A/N: Ah it's a classic!)

Kagome looked up at the man she had knocked into. He was a tall handsome man with short dark hair tied back. He wore a dork purple shirt and black jeans. `Oh great, well at least we aren't the only people that dress like old people.' Kagome thought.

“Excuse me miss but maybe Sango is right, I'm sure that it was a mistake. No one is supposed to have that locker. Isn't that right my dear?” He said to her friend, who narrowed her eyes at him.

“Get lost Miroku, this one is off limits!”

“Why I am insulted, surly you don't think that I would ever want anyone but you Sango. You are my life, my dream. I would never—”

“Canit! I don't have any time for your crap!” She said. Kagome giggled and slowly snuck away from the quarreling two. After looking around for a bit she finally came across her locker number. She had expected it to be old and rusted, like what those lockers in the movies look like, but it looked like all the rest.

Kagome put in the combination and reached to open the door. Was it just her imagination or did everybody in the hallway just stop? She swallowed the not in her throat and shut her eyes, pulling it open.

As soon as the door was brought back piles of things flew out at her. She fell back from the force of the objects and landed on her butt, covered in toys and candy. Kagome stared up at the locker and around at everyone in the hallway.

“What the hell?” she said at something moved in the darkness. Then out popped this weird looking pink ball.

“HELIUM!!!” It cried, throwing confetti at random people.

He flew down and tossed a big pile right in Miroku's face and then grabbed a large lollipop out of nowhere and shoved it in Sango's mouth. He picked up several more of his toys and candy and went about doing weird things with random people. Blowing a big bubble and popping it on a passing teacher, shoving cookies into an extension of someone's weird outfit. “It's a good cookie jar!” it cried.

Kagome just stared in wander as the little pink fuzz ball flew towards her. “Oh thank you! Thank you! I haven't been able get my toys out in ages!” he screamed. His little arms becoming longer and wrapping around Kagome in a strangling hung.

Wow…what an interesting day this is turning out to be…
