~The Secret Chamber~
Miroku stared at the slender thing that was wrapping itself around his hand. A snake was slithering down his arm...and back under the pillow. Miroku was sweating so badly from the sudden scare. He took a deep breath...then exhaled quietly.
"What the hell is a snake doing under my pillow?", he thought nervously.
He shook his head at the random thoughts in his mind. He slowly and cautiously got out of bed, put his hand on the pillow, and began to lift the soft object.
"Huh? What the? It won't budge!", thought to himself. He was right. It seemed to be sticking onto the bed. He let go and thought of a different way of removing the pillow.
He grabbed the pillow with both hands and pulled with all his might. It began to move slightly...almost there...whoops!
Miroku had fallen over and made a noise. But, fortunately, Inuyasha just turned onto his side instead of waking up and beating Miroku to a pulp.
He was relieved, but not for long. He stood up, back turned to his bed. He closed his eyes, turned around...and....
"Oh...my...god."
His eyes widened at what he had just scene. There...sitting under his pillow was a severed hand. There were snakes all over it, biting and eating pieces of it's flesh. Miroku dropped the pillow, walked over to Inuyasha's bedside, and hugged his knees. He felt too scared to be alone. He sat there, not moving, for the rest of the night.

The first ray of light shone in from the window, through the small open spaces of the window. There wasn't much but, it brightened the once dark and old house. Inuyasha stirred in his sleep, mumbling something under his breath.
"Mmm...Miroku?...you awake?", he asked sleepily. He turned onto his side and looked over to Miroku's bed...and didn't like what he saw. He grimaced and immediately got out of bed.
"Miroku? Miroku, where are you?", asked Inuyasha. He hoped what he was thinking was wrong...
"I-I-Inuyasha?", said a voice.
Inuyasha turned around as soon as his furry dog ears heard it, to find his friend shaking wildly by his bedside.
"Hey, Miroku. Snap out of it!", said Inuyasha.
"B-but...t-that thing!", said Miroku pointing at the pile of snakes on his bed.
"C'mon! Suck it up! It's morning!", said Inuyasha. He grabbed Miroku's left shoulder and slapped him, not hard but hard enough to wake anyone up.
Miroku was just so afraid and surprised, he couldn't think straight.
"I-I apologize, Inuyasha. It's just, it was in the middle of the night and I found blood on my hand, okay?", said Miroku.
"Keh."
"Inuyasha, you would've been scared, too!"
"No way! I'd've just slept through the night instead of sitting by your bedside rocking back and forth, hugging your knees like you're some kind of fuckin' mental patient!"
Miroku just shook his head and sighed. Inuyasha definately was the braver one of the two, that's for sure.
"Oh forget it. Let's go look for the kitchen. I'm hungry", said Inuyasha. His stomach began to growl loudly, demanding food. Miroku sweatdropped and left the room.
The house was just the way they entered and left it. Noone came in, noone came out. A slight draft was blowing through the windows, chilling the rooms slightly. The light was the only thing Miroku could need to get through. Inuyasha always hated it when his friend acted to cowardly. They walked back to the parlor, and found the kitchen. It looked like one of those places you see in expensive restaurants only rich people could buy food at. But, add a little dust to the image and, yeah, that about describes the kitchen.
"Well, I guess everything is beautiful, yet worn out, in this place right, Inuyasha?"
"Keh. Just shut up and look for some food."
"Yes, captain!"
Inuyasha glared at Miroku and made a fist. Miroku understood and turned away quickly. When Inuyasha means it, he means it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dammit! There's nothing in these drawers! Everything's fucking empty, just like yer head!"
"Inuyasha, calm down! And my head's not empty! I just don't use it as much as everything else", said Miroku.
They had opened everything in the kitchen. Literally, everything. The drawers held spider-webs and dust, of course. The refrigerator had nothing, but rust. There were no spoons, no forks, not even the slightest bit of silverware. Miroku sighed and sat in one of the chairs.
"This is not good."
"No, ya think?!", said Inuyasha, sarcastically.
His stomach began to growl again, wanting food or some kind of nourishment.
"Ugh. I wanna leave this hellhole", said Inuyasha sitting down. He put his elbow on the table and felt something move slightly under it.
"The hell?"
He felt the area he put his hand on and pushed down. A small circle appeared on the table, as if marking it. He had pressed a button.
"Inuyasha? What're you doing?"
"Dunno. Just found some kind of weird button."
They felt a small rumbling through out the kitchen walls. They braced themselves, for anything could happen now. The rumbling sound was louder now. It was now in the very room they were in. Miroku, shivering, went under the table and left Inuyasha out there. The rumbling sound suddenly stopped. Miroku peered out from under the table. Inuyasha searched the room. Nothing had changed...until...
BOOM!
Inuyasha wasn't ready for the sound and almost stumbled backwards. Miroku covered his head, for protection. Inuyasha looked around the room a second time...and noticed a wall had opened.
"Inuyasha? What's there?", asked Miroku nervously.
"It's just some trap door. C'mon let's check it out."
"Uh-uh. No way. I'm staying right here."
"Fine, then. Stay here, by yourself. I'm not protectin' you if you don't come."
Miroku sighed and got out from the table.
"Okay, okay. I'll go."
Inuyasha went in first, and Miroku afterwards. It was dark, obviously, and a little damp. Noone has been in here for a while. A long while. Miroku was scared out of his mind, but Inuyasha was ready for anything as they both went into the darkness of a secret chamber.
