~The Break-through~
Kagome had screamed for her friends to wake up from their nightmares. She didn't want to die or get eaten. But her screams faded as the spider wrapped her around in silk and cast it's spell. She was helpless now.
"No...please.....no....", she mumbled as her eyes closed. The spider cackled and had walked back onto the ceiling, it's face twisted from the hunger it had to endure. It was about to finally had a prey to feast on.
~Nightmare~
"Uunnhh....huh?"
Kagome had been lying on her desk sleeping. She looked up and found her fellow students writing notes into their notebooks, the teacher's back to her. Kagome looked around the room to make sure she wasn't just dreaming. She was back at her school.
"Wh-what? How did I get back here? I thought...", she stopped as she looked outside. It was foggy and covered the school grounds. She scratched the back of her head and looked once again around the room.
"If I'm here then where's....Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku.....they're gone," she thought to herself. She should've felt happy, finally being able to leave the mansion, but the price was her friends. A wave of sadness swept her heart and she felt like crying. She closed her eyes and became thoughtful for a moment. As she thought to herself, a strange purple gas had leaked through the doorway, which was still open. It spread across the room with such speed, that before anyone knew it, they had fell off their chairs and passed out. Kagome opened her eyes and gasped.
"What is this?! It's...it can't be!", she said. It was a miasma that seemed all too familiar. It was him, the one who had captured them. He was the cause of the miasma. She leapt from her seat, which crashed to the floor, and burst out the door. Student's bodies littered the school and made Kagome feel nauseous. She had managed to reach the front doors of the school and was met by swarms of strange bees.
"This can't be happening! Please, someone help!", she yelled.
"Fufufu..."
"Huh?" Kagome had just heard someone...someone all too familiar. There he was, standing in front of her with long tentacles protruding from his body. The one who chased them and captured her and Sango. He spotted her and his eyes narrowed to slits and his face twisted in a maniacal way.
"No..." said Kagome. He began to run at her with full speed. Thoughts raced through her head as he came towards her.
"You're finally mine now, wench," he told her. He was now right in front of her, but she was frozen in place. He put his hand under her chin and lifted her face to his. He had a dark smile on.
"So, here we are again. But, this time....you won't escape me," he whispered in her ear. Kagome's senses reacted and she screamed, thrusting her hands in his face. A purple light flashed from her hands and he had been knocked back.
~Reality~
The web began to melt and Kagome was slowly being freed from the web. The spider demon didn't seem to notice, as he was sleeping on the ceiling. She regained her sight as she groaned. She rubbed her head and looked around. She was still in the mansion along with her friends. She immediately searched the room for the any sign of the demon, but there was none. The first person she went to was Inuyasha, trying to rip apart the webbing. But it just seemed to grow back.
"What can I do? I can't even put a tiny rip in this! Maybe if I....wait a second. how did I break out of my webs?", she asked herself. She had forgotten how she even escaped hers. She pondered for a moment and remembered her nightmare. She rememebred being in miasma...then that light that shone from her hand. But she still had no idea how she did it. Just that she was lucky enough to be free from it. She looked up to see the spider stir. It seemed to be shivering and it's fur stood straight up. It opened it's eyes and they wandered to Kagome, who now froze in fear.
"Aaahh...the master was right about you. You do have supernatural powers. Let's put them to the test, shall we?", he challenged while chuckling. He moved his head back slowly and released a liquid from his mouth. It dropped to the floor in a huge heap and formed a giant oval. It seemed harmless and only occasionally shook. Kagome cringed at the sight. The spider demon only laughed.
"We'll see who has stronger power. You....or me," he laughed. He began to crawl down from the webs on the cieling with insect-like speed. Kagome made a face and cringed. It made it's way onto the floor and stopped a few feet in front of her.
"For a human girl with such power you are useless!" he hissed.
"Putting me down won't get you anywhere, mister!" she retorted.
He made an annoyed look on his face and thrust two of his hand forward and spines shot out of them. They were small and were flying fast at Kagome. Her eyes widened, she shrieked and wrapped her arms aruond herself as if shielding herself and her power aided her. A bright light surrounded her and the spines were merely shrugged off. She opened her eyes and the light dispersed, forcing her backwards just a little. The spider growled and lunged at her. She panicked and rolled to her side, him landing right on the spot she used to sit on. She quickly looked for something to use as a weapon and found a table leg. She picked it up and swung as hard as she could at the spider's legs. Two cracks were heard, one right after the other. It made a loud hissing sound and retreated a few feet.
"That's what you get for messing with me," she said, proud of herself. As she said that, a string of silk stuck to her weapon and it was dragged away.
"Hahaha! Don't be so cocky. I'm not dead yet!" he yelled and rushing down at her again. Both of the legs that she had hit had broken off, but he could still run at a fast speed. She almost froze when she saw an axe stuck to the top of a table enveloped in silk. She grabbed onto it and struggled to free it. The spider laughed at her attempt and lunged at her. Kagome pulled and pulled but it wouldn't budge. Before the spider could reach her, she saw someone in the shadows. It moved so quickly she couldn't tell if it had movede at all. It pulled on the axe once and left. She was confused but when the spider shot silk out again, it caught onto her leg. She tried once more to release the axe and it lifted. but since she pulled it with such force, it flew out of her grasp and onto the spider's leg, breaking three. It fell onto the ground and retreated.
"Maybe that's it. If I keep breaking the legs, it'll be powerless!" she concluded. She searched for the axe on the rotted floor and picked it up. "So, how is this human girl?" she asked.
"She's more troublesome than I thought. But in the end, I will win," it said, leering. It began to run at her but in different directions and still with it's fast speed. Kagome held the axe in front of her, but before she could do anything, her powers aided her once more. The axe glowed with a bright light then disappeared with the weapon completely.
"Hey! I needed that!" she yelled. But something even better had appeared. Six axes appeared around her, like a semi-circle. They had multiplied themselves and were ready to fly at her expense. She had an awed look on her face and turned to the spider. It didn't look phased and stood still.
"Go ahead, try it! Six doesn't mean squat!" it yelled.
She pointed a finger at it and one of the axes began to fly right at it, swinging. It dodged that one, but another slashed another of it's legs. It couldn't balance itself anymore and fell down, the last two legs being sliced off.
"Grrrr, I won't go yet!" it shouted.
"How? You can't move now," she said, with a victory tone.
But it really wasn't over yet, the spider began to spin around. It kept going until it was a blur of white. It stayed in that spot for just a moment before blasting straight at Kagome. She screamed and closed her eyes. The axes reacted and the last three stood like a triangle. The spider made a direct hit into the top one, stopping. It had punctured it's forehead and it was gaping at her. Before he could speak, the other two went right into the sides of his neck. They slowly made they way across it's neck, slitting it. A long and painful death it was. Kagome stared in horror and stepped back. The spider had died and it's body was disappearing. A vortex had appeared in the center of the room, sucking everything it. The webs, the dead bodies, the dirt and grime from the room was all taken in and the room had changed. Inuyasha and the others were lying on the ground, the room was clean and looked new. Kagome fell back, staring at every inch of the room. The vortex then looked like it was collapsing into itself and disappered. She did it. She had won. Kagome ran to Inuyasha's side and he had awoken. So had Miroku and Sango.
"Man, were we sleeping this whole time?" he asked.
"Well, it's a long story," replied Kagome. She began to explain the dream and the spider. The vortex had been a mystery, but she kept it at that. They were relieved and they exited the room.
