~The Corridors~
"Where the hell are we?!", said Inuyasha.
They were somewhere, in the mansion. They could've been anywhere. All the rooms they had been to were nothing but dusty, creepy, old, and musty.
"Who knows, Inuyasha? We could be heading into some dark cult's ritual next", said Miroku.
Kagome shivered at the thought of anymore unknown people in this mansion. Sango kept her cool.
"Miroku, quit it. Kagome and I have already been through something horrible. Please don't put anymore freakish thoughts into our minds. Or you'll find out what my five fingers wanna say", threatened Sango. This shut Miroku up instantly. Kagome walked a little closer to Inuyasha. Noticing her fear, he whispered something into her ear.
"Don't worry, Kagome. Nothing will happen to you while I'm here."
Kagome looked into his amber eyes and flashed him a smile. Inuyasha blushed and looked away from her.
"Let's just find our way back now. It's getting late", said Inuyasha, trying to keep his voice steady. Miroku checked his watch. 8:58 P.M.
"Yeah. We'd better get back soon, or someone might jump out at us and they'll tie us up to pillars and start a ritual to summon dark evil spirits that'll-"
*WHACK*
Miroku stopped when Sango's hand collided with his face. It could be heard throughout the mansion.
"I warned you Miroku. You should've listened", sighed Sango. Kagome giggled a little. They were walking down a hallway, with of course, plenty of doors to go through. But, something caught Sango's eye. She glanced at something glistening under a strange statue. She walked towards it and it glowed brightly.
"Wh...what is this thing?"
She touched it with her finger and she felt something overwhelm her. She fell backwards and had no strength to stand. Miroku was the first to notice.
"Sango? Sango! Are you alright?", he asked while kneeling by her. She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came.
"Sango? What are you...", Miroku trailed off. He also noticed the strange glowing object Sango had touched. He stared at it for a while...trying to figure out if it was dangerous or completely harmless. He glanced back at Sango.
"Is this what paralyzed you?", he asked. Sango nodded slowly.
"Hey, Inuyasha, Kagome. I've found somethi-", he trailed off when he saw they had left without them. Miroku sighed and stood up.
"I guess it's just you and me Sango...Sango?"
She was gone. Miroku felt himself begin to panic.
"Guys? Where are you? Please answer me!", said Miroku. No answer. He looked around the hallway, searching for any sign of them. The hall began to look more menacing, as if it could just collapse and take Miroku with it. He began to shiver and sweat a bit. He almost jumped when he head a loud crash. He immediately turned and looked around. There was nothing. No broken glass. No broken vase. Nothing. He was alone.
"I...I have to look for them. For Sango...", he told himself. He summed up the courage and opened the door nearest to him. It was dark and was very damp. Spider webs hung off the ceiling and hung off every corner of the room.
"Sango...are you in here-", he stopped as he felt something grab his ankle and drag him in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Dammit! Where'd Miroku and Sango head off to?!", asked Inuyasha. Kagome turned around and saw they were gone.
"Could they both of wandered off somewhere?", asked Kagome.
"Keh. If Miroku's with her than he's not gonna be alot of help", muttered Inuyasha.
"C'mon, Inuyasha. We should go look for them. We can't just leave them by themselves", said Kagome. He just made a face and turned around.
"Miroku can take care of himself....I think", said Inuyasha. He turned around to meet Kagome's angry glare. He shrunk back. He almost felt himself shaking.
"Fine then. You can go to bed, I'll go look for them", said Kagome. She turned and opened the door, when Inuyasha put his hand on her shoulder. She turned and looked at him.
"I'm not letting you go alone."
She felt herself warm up a bit at his reassurance. He led her out and shut the door behind them. They headed back to the hallway where they had last seen Sango and Miroku. Inuyasha got on the ground and sniffed them out. Kagome giggled. She had never seen him do something like this before. He looked at her and scowled. This made her laugh even more. Inuyasha ignored her and tried to find Miroku's scent first. Inuyasha could recognize it anywhere. He stood back up again and motioned for Kagome to follow. She was at his side in a second.
"He should be in this room...I hope", said Inuyasha. He put his hand on the doorknob and felt something sticky.
"The hell?!", he cursed as he took a look at his hand. It was covered with a white substance.
"Inuyasha, what is it?"
"I think this is...a spiderweb."
"Ewwww!"
"Don't be such a scaredy-cat. It's just a web. not like a spider's gonna come out and bite ya."
She shot him a glare and opened the door, shivering when her hand felt the sticky substance. There wasn't much to see in this room, because of the fact it's pitch black. She was about to head in when...
"Kagome, get behind me. I have a bad feeling about this...Kagome?"
Inuyasha looked around. Kagome had vanished. He felt worried and frightened for her. He shook his head and took a deep breath.
"C'mon you idiot. Get ahold of yourself. Kagome's probably hiding in this room somewhere expecting you to panic. Now just go in and look around", he ordered himself. He went inside and suddenly heard the door slamming shut.
"K-Kagome?!"
Now he did feel himself panicking. He couldn't see through the darkness of the room. His ears perked up when he heard a muffled cry. He turned around, but again couldn't see a thing.
"Kagome, is that you?!"
He turned around again. His eyes were searching the room constantly, desperatly trying to find any trace of Kagome, Miroku, or Sango. Noone was there with him. He was alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Errrg...K...Kagome...", said Inuyasha.
"Perfect. He's having his worst fear come to him. Soon he will be vulnerable."
"Uunnnh....huh?!", said Kagome as she woke up. She tried to rub the back of her head, but she couldn't her hands were tied to her back. The tight ropes cut into her wrists, making her take quick breaths. She looked over to her left and saw spider webs. The sticky webs covered the whole wall...and something was in it. She squinted to make out the figures inside. There they were. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango were hanging from parts of the web. They each seemed to be afraid of something, although they were asleep.
"Unnh...Inuyasha! Miroku, Sango! Wake up! Please!", yelled Kagome.
"They can't hear you now, wench. Hehehehehe....", said a voice.
Kagome was startled and gasped when she looked up. A giant spider was standing on the ceiling. It had huge legs, blood red markings all over it's back. It looked up from the position it was in and smiled menacingly at Kagome.
"They're just dreaming...dreaming about their worst fears and worries. They're expierencing the most horrible events in their lives or things they never want to happen", it said coldly.
"But...why? Their just nightmares, right?", asked Kagome. The spider frowned and jumped off the ceiling. Kagome cried out as it landed on the floor with a huge *BOOM*.
"Hehehehe.....a mortal can only take so much until eventually they...how do you humans say...crack", he said, amused at the last bit. He grabbed her chin and chuckled at her fear.
"Don't worry, you'll be joining them soon enough", he said.
"No! Please! Let me go! Sango! Miroku, Inuyasha!!!!", she screamed. But noone could hear hear her. Noone could help her now.
