"You can be really infuriating sometimes ya know that?!"
"Yeah well you're no stroll through the park yourself."
"And just what is that supposed to mean?" An angry Kagome crossed her arms waiting for the hanyou's reply.
"Here we go again." Sango quietly mumbled to herself.
"You think its easy being around you all the time?" Inuyasha answered also crossing his arms stepping up to the girl.
"Fine, if that's the way you feel then maybe I just won't be around then." She turned and stomped off into the woods.
"Ah come on guys, don't do this." Shippou pleaded. "You don't even know what you're fighting for."
"Sorry Shippou but if that's what Inuyasha wants, so be it." Kagome called over her shoulder.
"Fine- go then, see if I care!" Inuyasha flailed a fist in the air following after the human girl despite his words. The two argued back and forth as they walked away from the group.
"You guyyys."
"Its best if we don't get involved Shippou."
"Miroku's right. We should let them be and go back to the village before it gets any darker. Come Kilala." At the demon slayers command the small animal followed at Sango's feet.
"What about Inuyasha?" Shippou hopped up on the girls shoulder.
"He knows where we'll be. I'm certain he'll come back when he's ready." Miroku reassured him.
"Yeah I guess so and he can always sniff us out if needed." The three headed in the opposite direction towards the village they'd been staying in.
On the other side of the woods. "Why do you always gotta go running home when things get too rough. I thought you said you could handle it."
"Rrr. I can handle it thank you very much. Its not fighting demons that's my problem. Its your attitude." Kagome stopped in her tracks turning to glare into her friends eyes.
"Well I wouldn't have an attitude if you'd stop gettin' in my way all the time." Inuyasha shot back.
"I was just trying to help, Inuyasha. Besides if I didn't interfere you could've been killed." She turned back around and started heading for the Well again.
"And you could have been killed too. Besides I didn't need your help. I was doing just fine on my own." He waited for a response and got nothing but leaves rustling from the wind. "Huh?" He opened his eyes seeing the girl disappear into the Well. "Kagome!" He ran to the stone cylinder and peered inside the blackness.
"Get back here! I'm not finished with you yet." In defeat he decided not to go after her and started walking away. "Tch. Knowing her she'll be gone a few days then come back apologizing."
........
"Always getting in the way then blaming me for everything." Inuyasha quietly griped to himself on his way back to the spot the others had been left in. When he got there, though, no one was around.
"Hey, where'd they go?" Glancing around quickly he realized he really was alone now. "I guess they went back to the village. Hmph forget them. The last thing I need is another lecture." He dropped himself down to the ground leaning his back against the nearby tree. "Maybe I won't go back at all and do everyone a favor. I'm better off alone anyway. I'll find all the jewels and defeat Naraku on my own!"
He raised his voice as if telling the world his decision. "I don't need anybody." Just as the half breed was about to close his eyes and get comfortable he heard a voice and looked up.
"Come now Inuyasha, you can't mean that."
"Huh... Miroku where'd you come from?" Coming into view now the monk made his way over to Inuyasha standing in front of him a few feet away.
"I thought it'd be best if I came back for you. The others are waiting in the village."
"Why? Did you think I wouldn't show up? Figures no trust me around here." The half demon mumbled and went back to getting comfortable.
"That's not true, but after hearing what you just said I'm glad I did come." Miroku joined the white haired boy sitting beside him against the tree. The two sat quietly a moment, Miroku staring up into the leaves glistening with the setting sun light.
"How much did you hear?" The low voice of the hanyou came suddenly.
"Everything." Miroku calmly replied.
"Great. Well spare me your speeches about staying together as a team and all your other bull." Inuyasha stood to leave but was stopped mid stance as Miroku grabbed hold of his arm.
"Hey!"
"Inuyasha, though I do believe it's best for all of us to stick together in our quest to find the Shikon Jewel, I also understand your need to be alone." Miroku let go of his friends arm hoping Inuyasha would stay on his own will.
Inuyasha glanced in the monks direction and decided to sit back down. Miroku silently heaved a sigh of relief and continued. "The group can be a lot to handle at times what with our differences and all but we need each other."
"Tch."
"Ehem, despite your temper and reckless need to blindly rush into battle w-"
"Just what are you getting at monk?"
"What I'm trying to say, if you'd have let me finish is, in spite of all that you're our friend Inuyasha and we want you around we need you. Some of us more than others." Miroku bravely added making the hanyou raise an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, take the others for example." Miroku stared off into the distance as he spoke, as if he were looking for the right words to say. "Shippou looks up to you a lot whether you notice or not. Sango respects and admires you and Kagome... well we all know how much she cares for you despite all you've put her through." He stopped for a brief pause unconsciously stroking his staff while he thought.
"Yeah and what about you?"
Blinking back into reality Miroku let out some air to ready himself for what he was about to say. "Yes me. I think it'd be best if I showed you." Miroku's hand reached around unseen and cupped Inuyasha's chin. Pulling the unsuspecting dog boys face towards his own, he pressed his lips to the others. Mentally gasping Inuyasha pulled away breaking the kiss.
"What the h-"
"You have to stay with us Inuyasha..... with me. I need you most of all."
"I don't understand."
Still holding the hanyou's chin Miroku sat up and moved so he was face to face with Inuyasha. "During our travels together I've found myself growing fond of you Inuyasha."
"Huh?"
"I was never sure of my feelings for you until that one day. The night you saved me from that horde of demons when my wind tunnel was damaged. I knew you felt something for me as well."
"Mi... roku."
Not letting the object of his desire speak anymore Miroku covered Inuyasha's mouth with his own again. After a second of protest Inuyasha surrendered to the kiss and his rising emotions. He'd always told himself he'd only had concern for Miroku as a friend but he knew there had to be more to it. There was always this other feeling surfacing whenever they were alone or when Miroku was in danger. Now he knew it was the same feelings Miroku had had for him.
After minutes of exploring each others mouths the two parted breathing heavily but not moving an inch away from the others face. "Miroku I-"
"It's alright we can do this together, slowly." Not knowing what else to do Inuyasha waited for Miroku to make a move and he did. Taking Inuyasha's chin again Miroku continued the kiss they'd started before but took it a step further. He slid his tongue in gently running it across the hanyou's own. He moaned in excitement that Inuyasha was willingly letting him play around and take control. It'd been some long time since the monk had physical been with another person in an intimate way so he planned on taking full advantage of it. He added nips and sucks to Inuyasha's lips, running his tongue back and forth inside the hanyou's mouth.
Deciding to not just sit there, Inuyasha shyly put his hands on Miroku's cheeks. He then was moved away from the tree and lied on the ground, as Miroku straddled over him. Miroku, being the amorous man he was, couldn't wait to start groping the fine smooth skin his friend always kept hidden from the world, with that large red outfit.
Their lips parted again as Miorku kissed and licked his way down the half breeds neck. His hands still busy pulling away clothing to expose Inuyasha's heaving chest. Helping get his shirt off Inuyasha lifted his back from the ground enough to completely pull off his kimono and shirt. As soon as he fell back down to the ground Miroku attacked his chest sucking and nipping at each nipple equally.
"Aah." Inuyasha's backed arched slightly at the unexpected pleasure he was receiving. Miroku tugged at his pants pulling them down just enough to send the cool breeze of evening air over Inuyasha's heated erection. "Uh?" The dog eared boy sat up on his elbows cautiously watching as his friend made his way down to his erection.
"Don't worry, just relax." Miroku reassured him before he resumed tonguing around Inuyasha's genitalia. With another moan of delighted pleasure Inuyasha dropped back down to the ground letting Miroku go to work.
"Mm." Miroku moaned against the soft and heavily musk scented flesh of Inuyasha's inner thighs. He nosed around the throbbing manhood just lightly brushing his nose against it. Making Inuyasha thrust his hips upwards.
"Uuuh, geez Miroku just do something already." Inuyasha barked out.
"Hm feisty, I like that." Not wanting to make his new lover wait any longer Miroku licked up the length of Inuyasha's penis then reaching the tip he took the whole thing into his mouth.
"Aah." Inuyasha cried out feeling the new heat around his need. His back arching off the ground and hips bucking begging for more. Miroku did his best to keep him still as he worked the flesh in his mouth. Sucking as hard as he could savoring the taste of his precum. Inuyasha's hands went from pulling up grass to messing up Miroku's hair. Sounds of ecstasy filled the air as Inuyasha neared his climax.
Sensing this Miroku moved a hand from the boys hip and began massaging the sacks of flesh beneath Inuyasha's manhood. That was enough to send the hanyou over the edge and with a few final thrust into the monks mouth he came. "Aaaah!"
Only taking down half of his prize Miroku moved away to lie on top of his spent lover. Kissing him with a heated passion as Inuyasha came down from his high. The two relaxed together calming themselves quietly for minutes. Inuyasha stared up into the trees the light of the now rising moon showing through the cracks of leaves. He glanced down at the top of Miroku's head that was just beneath his chin.
"So hey, what was that?" He spoke up not sure if the monk had heard him or not he waited.
"What do you mean?" The monks answer finally came.
"I mean why'd you do it? I thought you were into women."
A small chuckle came from his friends mouth. "I did it to show you how much I care for you Inuyasha. Truthfully I've been wanting to do that for a while now...." Miroku fell silent again. "And it was everything I had imagined." He smiled into Inuyasha's chest then lifted himself to look into the glowing amber eyes. "I only flirt with women in hopes of someone baring me a child someday tooo pass on ym legacy. As pleasing as the female body might be I much prefer that of a mans. Mainly yours." Finishing his explanation he planted a kiss on those surprised lips. Miroku sat up then pulling Inuyasha up with him, who was now fully dressed again. "Inuyasha?"
"What? You want me to repay you or something."
"No, well not yet."
"Well if your expecting me to confess my feelings or somethin' it ain't gonna happen. You did what you needed and that's that."
Another small laugh came from Miroku. "You don't have to do or say anything Inuyasha. I just want you to know that I'm here for you if you ever feel alone again." He stood now stretching himself. "Aaand maybe then you could... repay me." He picked up his staff and started heading out of the woods back towards the village. Inuyasha stood but didn't move to follow. His mind was too busy racing with a tangle of thoughts he didn't know how to unravel.
'Miroku'
"You coming? The others are probably wondering what’s taking so long."
"Yeah, I'm right behind you."
Even though he never said it, Miroku knew Inuyasha felt the same way towards him and that was enough for now. Like all good relationships this one would take some time. The two walked back to the village with an unspoken promise to be there for one another whenever it was needed and to keep it between themselves. Not really sure how to explain what was going on themselves but knowing it felt right.
