*Prologue*
The Northern Lord Intuis, Southern Lord Kiushi, Eastern Lord Yashui, and Western Lord Nemsis made an alliance to defend against the war that is soon to come.
The Northern Lord and family were Tosa-ken youkai and had a son named Sesshomaru.
The Southern Lord and family are Neko-ken youkai and had a daughter named Kagome.
The Eastern Lord and family are Ookami-ken youkai and had a son named Kouga.
The Western Lord and family are Youko-ken youkai and had a daughter named Kika.
The Lords tried to bring the alliance together more with Sesshomaru, Kagome,Kika, and Kouga. Lord Intuis and Lord Nemsis tried to bring Sesshomaru and Kika together, while Lord Kiushi and Lord Yashui tried to be Kagome and Kouga together, but instead on becoming mates like the Lords wanted they all became close friends so the Lords decided let nature run it course and it did, three years later................
Kagome was a beautiful cat demon everyone adored her, but mainly Kika. Kagome had long silver blue hair that went down to her waist, big bright blue eyes and a long spotted tail with a silver tip. Kika was a beautiful fox demon, but she always compared herself to Kagome.Kika had long red hair with black highlights that went a little to her waist, big green eyes, and a red tail with a black tip. When Kagome and Kika transformed to full youkai they were the same size as Sesshomaru and Kouga.
Kagome, Sesshomaru, Kouga and Kika each had a sign on their foreheads (family sign).
Kagome had a star for the South.
Sesshomaru had a crescent moon for the North.
Kouga full moon for the East.
Kika a sun for the West.
*Chapter 1*
It was been three years since the alliance. Kouga and Kika had been dating, but they had been keeping it a secret for their tousans. Sesshomaru has had his eye on Kagome for a while, but Kagome had no real interest in him for a mate.
Kagome was walking in the garden looking at all the roses she had planted many years ago. Sesshomaru was hiding in the bushes waiting for the right time to strike. He slowly came towards her grabbing her waist. Kagome jumped and screamed.
"Sessy, Why did you do that?"
Sesshomaru laughed and said "Because I thought it would be funny."
"Scaring me to death isn't funny!!!!" Kagome screamed after catching her breath.
Sesshomaru smirked and walked to his chambers, leaving Kagome in the garden.
'Why is she so harsh?' Sesshomaru thought.
*Flashback*
Kagome, Kouga and Kika were playing tag in the garden. They were all in their youkai forms. Sesshomaruwas listening in on the Lords in the study when he heard Kagome call his name. He ran to the garden. When he got there Kagome came and tagged him out of nowhere. Sesshomaru changed to his youkai form and chased after Kagome when he caught up with her she turned around and kissed him and ran.
*End of Flashback*
Sesshomaru smiled and giggled just a little as he remembered how Kagome kissed. He loved the way she smiled and how she brightened up every room. Kagome was still on the garden walking around when she started thinking about Sesshomaru. 'Why, am I thinking about him.' A grin came over her face as she remembers when he scared her and how he grabbed her waist. 'The way he touches is soft and warm'. 'Come on Kagome snapped out of it he is too serious for you'. She thought. "Lady Kagome the Lord is calling for you" a servant said walking into the garden.
"Tell father I am on my way" Kagome said. Kagome went to the library and knocked.
"Come in." Lord Kiushi said.
"You wanted to see me father?" Kagome asked with a troubled look.
"Yes, Kagome I hear there is a certain youkia that took a liking to you, is that true?" he asked.
Kagome walked towards her father and said "Yes, there is and his name is Sesshomaru,
Lord Intuis son." 'OH, NO!!! He is going to tell me to marry him and I am not ready for this yet' Kagome thought.
"You have come of age to take a mate my dear daughter and I would like it if you do so, but I am not to choose your mate, as you can see the first time us Lords tried to force a marriage amoung you four, but nothing happened, so for now you are to choose your mate."
Kagome looked puzzled as she heard what her father told her. "Thank you Father and I am glad that you respect me enough to let me choose my own mate."
Lord Kiushi looked at his daughter and gave her a huge hug and kiss on the forehead. " I am glad that you agree my daughter." he said before leaving the library.
Sesshomaru was in his chambers thinking about how to tell Kagome how he really felt. 'What if she says no, not in my life.' he thought as a tear ran down his cheek. 'I know she isn't ready for a mate, but dating shouldn't be a problem, that way she can get to know me better.' Sesshomaru decided to wait until dinner when everyone is there to ask Kagome. That gives him 4 hours to think of things to say until dinner.
Kika was in the living room listening to her father Lord Nemsis talk about matting and making sure she knows all the percautions. 'GOD!! I wish he would shut up already.' Kika thought. 'I hope he doesn't know about me and Kouga.' Lord Nemsis just got to the pup part when a servant came in and announced that Lord Intuis wants to see Lord Nemsis in his study. After her father left Kika thought about how her and Kouga was going to break the news to their tousans at dinner. All of a sudden Kouga grabbed Kika by the waist and picked her up and spun her around.
"Kouga put me down before father sees you." she screamed.
"Don't worry Kika he won't." Kouga said putting her down, "I love you Kika, will you become my mate?"
Kika blushing and speechless ran and hugged Kouga.
"Wait until dinner to tell everyone, ok?" she whispered in his ear. Kouga had a big grin on his face "I will, promise." he said before departing from the living room.
All the servants of Lord Intuis was getting the castle ready for the big dinner for the new lord, Sesshomaru. Lord Intuis was still the ruler of the Northern Lands, but Sesshomaru would take on some of his duties to learn how the Northern Lord rules. The other Lords will do the same for once they come of age. Kika and Kagome still have one more year and Kouga will be next year. With the Southern and Western Lords will be females, if they marry any Lords their lands will become one.
The night of the dinner Sesshomaru had butterflies in his stomach, they were not for the Lordship, but for when he asked Kagome to go out with him.
