Chapter 2

“That is a very interesting name,” Kagome said. “What does it mean?”

Inuyasha looked at the girl in front of him and said, “It's a name that haunts me even now. You don't want to know what my name means.”

Kagome didn't even know what to say. She knew that it must be pretty bad if it is haunting him. They sat in silence for a while until Kagome asked, “Why are you here in the castle?”

Inuyasha looked at her and said, “I have been here for a long time, like I said. I came when I was little because of my past and since then I have had to pay for things i shouldn't have to pay for. I have stayed because of something I want but haven't been able to get. Until now that is.”

For the next hour Kagome would ask Inuyasha questions and he would answer them. She found how he was ashamed of whom he was and that he had been watching her for a while. She discovered how a maid, Kikyo, helped him get into the castle when he was little and that Kikyo was dead.

Sango knocked on Kagome's door and whispered her name. After getting no answer, she opened the door and found that Kagome wasn't in her room. She was about to leave but noticed a silver piece of hair on the ground next to the love seat. As she stared at it, she noticed another on the side of the painting hanging on Kagome's wall. Sango looked up and ran out of the room to look for the missing princess.

Late, during the night, Inuyasha brought Kagome back to her room.

“Will I see you again,” Kagome asked.

“If you would want to, then yes,” Inuyasha answered. With that he left her, going through the painting.

After that, they met each other every day and the same time and the same place. Both would look forward to the meetings and tell each other about their day. Kagome found herself telling Inuyasha things that she didn't even tell Sango.

They had been sitting in silence for a while when Kagome suddenly looked up at him and his hat. It was her third time down in Inuyasha's home and the conversation wasn't going to well. She stood up in front of him and put a hand on his cheek. He closed his eyes and she moved closer and took his hat off with her other hand.

Thinking that she would find either brown or blonde hair, she was surprised to find a head of silver locks. The silver hair would have been fine if there weren't two dog ears on top of his head. Surprised, she took a few steps back. Inuyasha held a hand out to her and said, “Don't—”

Kagome took one more step back but was surprised to find that there was nothing for her to step on. She plunged into the water of the canal. Inuyasha ran to the edge she had fallen off and dove in to save her. Under the water he saw that her eyes were shut and her body was limp. He wrapped his arm around her and swam to the surface. He made his way to the edge and climbed up with her in his arms bridal style.

He laid her down on the ground and propped her head up with a cushion. Because of his amazing hearing abilities, he could hear that she wasn't breathing. Taking a deep breath he pushed on her rib cage five times and placed his mouth over hears and breathed for her. As he took his mouth off of hers a wave of nervousness passed over him. He repeated this once more and on the third time when he went to put his mouth over hers he felt her arms come around his neck and her kissing him. He returned her kiss and placed one hand behind her wet head and the other hand on her cheek. Inuyasha kept his eyes closed and massaged Kagome's scalp with the pads of him fingers. He made sure not to scratch her with his claws though. Inuyasha took his lips from hers and drew a line of kissed down her jaw line and back up to her lips. Kagome took a deep breath and opened her eyes as Inuyasha kissed her lips again.

When they parted, she took her hand and felt one of his ears. Even though it was wet, it was still one of the softest things that she had ever felt in her life. She started to rub it and at the same time Inuyasha picked her up bridal style and walked her over to his bed. She saw him smile at his pleasure from his ear being rubbed. He placed her on the bed and she let go of his ear.

Kagome was surprised when he disappeared around a corner of his little place. He returned with a change of clothes for her.

“You may go and change around there. I will not follow,” Inuyasha said.

Kagome took the clothes, changes, and came back to find Inuyasha had changed into dry clothes as well.

Inuyasha was sitting on the edge of the bed and running his claws over the edge of the mask that he still wore. Kagome come over to where he was and spun around.

“How do I look?” Kagome asked, laughing after she said it. She was in a baggy white shirt that poofed out at the sleeves and had a collar. This she had tucked into knee length breechers. Since Inuyasha was bigger then her she looked as if she went through the dryer and shrunk instead of the clothes.

Inuyasha looked up and laughed. “I never said that I had girl clothes,” he said.

Kagome looked at his mask and stepped closer. “May I?” she asked.

“May you what?” Inuyasha asked.

“Take off your mask,” Kagome responded.

Inuyasha closed his eyes and nodded a yes. Kagome was surprised because of what happened when she removed his hat. She stepped closer to where she was right in front of him. Inuyasha put his hands in his lap and sighed.

“Go head,” he sighed.

Kagome took a deep breath as if she were preparing herself for something like the ears she discovered earlier. She placed her hand on his arm and closed her eyes as she pulled the mask off with the other hand. Inuyasha felt the mask come off and opened his eyes to see Kagome with her eyes closed. Inuyasha took one of his hands and pushed her hair back and said, “Open your eyes.”

Kagome opened her eyes to see the most beautiful pair of eyes that she had ever seen in her entire life. She stepped back and admired this person who had come into her life so suddenly. “You are so beautiful,” she gasped.

Inuyasha stood up and said, “So are you.”

Kagome just looked at him. When he changed, he changed into a white shirt, very unlike the black he usually wore. Through the shirt you could see that he was very muscular. His silver hair was very long and beautiful and the ears were so cute. His eyes were mesmerizing. Why would someone so beautiful and majestic want to hide away and hide their beauty? This question ran through Kagome's head as she gazed at this man who had suddenly taken her heart.

Inuyasha just stared back at Kagome. “I should be getting you back,” Inuyasha said, taking Kagome out of her dream world.

Inuyasha brought Kagome back to her room and tucked her into her bed. As he walked back he just pictured her face when she saw him as one for the first time.
