"Ahhhh", Inuyasha screamed as he used his ultimate attack against Naraku who was temporarily disabled thanks to Kagome's arrows. Naraku had a shocked look then one that said "I can't believe I lost to a girl and Half-breed" as he died. Nobody celebrated till they proved it was truly Naraku and had all of the shards. Inuyasha and the group decided to sleep as long as they wanted even Kagome who had somehow managed to graduate in the top 10 percent of her class.

After waking up around noon they all agreed to have a party. That was the only thing that they agreed on. Kagome wanted to invite Sesshomaru because he is Inuyasha's brother and he hated Naraku as much as anyone else. "No way, are you an moron? Sesshomaru is a Jerk. I don't want him anywhere near me." That earned him- Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! After which Kagome said, "I am not an imbecile, and I was not asking you I was telling. I already sent him a letter asking him to join the celebration." Other than that and groping by the slimy monk the planning went rather well. The planning consisted of the village getting food and decorating.

To everybody's astonishment Sesshomaru showed up with Rin under the guise of wanting to see if his dimwit of a brother had actually defeated Naraku. The main reason was that he was a lord and it was impolite to decline an invitation, and that he was somewhat impressed with his baka brother. (Though he would never admit it, especially to him) After a few day of deserved celebration, (glaring at Ses on Inu's part), Sesshomaru, fluffy as Rin named him while she was sleepy, went home with his ward. Kagome went to her time with Shippou for a while. Inu really didn't care because it was finished. Somehow that perverted monk had convinced Sango to go with him to his home teacher/family friend to tell him his hand was not cursed, and would return the same time Kagome did. There was a week between Kagome's departure and her return. During that time there was an unattended dog-demon that was easy prey for a certain evil undead priestess.

Kagome was returning with a small and happy fox child who had a giant chocolate bar in his mouth. She knew that Sango and Miroku were returning later that day. She was expecting Inuyasha to either be yelling at her for taking to long or to have bugged her at home even if just for old times. To her disbelief he was not even waiting above the well. She figured that he was busy and started to walk towards Kaede's home. She was half way there when she found Inuyasha and Kikyou making-out. She was heartbroken, because she had grown fond of him yes, but mostly because he didn't tell her. She was willing to accept that he would go with Kikyou, but why wouldn't he tell her? She thought that they were close enough to share things. That really hurt, even more than what he was doing which really stung. Shippou was so engrossed with the chocolate in his mouth that he didn't even notice.

She quickly ran away though not very quietly because she was crying. After a while she tripped and sprained her ankle, and Shippou who had a short attention span had decided to sleep on their run. Demons had smelled her and realized that she had the jewel and was alone. They started to attack her and she was able to hold the first few of but once they tried to hurt her adopted son her body glowed a bright purple and destroyed them. This left her unconscious covering Shippou when a tall and handsome demon picked them up. He really did not want to take the fox child but Kagome clung to him so he gave in.
